Share Life Today, in stories from real-life encounters, challenges lay people to learn to share the Gospel every day in an ordinary conversation, to know how to ask great questions, and to testify to the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Let's suppose I stood before a judge with fifty thousand parking tickets; and in my opportunity to speak, I asked the judge, "your Honor, would you please let me go? I promise I'll be a perfect driver from now on." Do you think that judge should declare me free? If he or she did, they couldn't be considered a just judge. The reason I share this illustration is that it is the same decision God is faced with when looking at our sin. Yes, He loves us and doesn't want to punish us; but on the other hand, He is just and must punish sin. Do you see the problem? Well, God solved this problem in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived an absolutely perfect life, died on the cross to pay for our sins, and all we have to do is put our trust in Jesus alone to be declared righteous in God's sight. What amazing grace — that Jesus would do that for us! For more, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever put your hope in another person? Well, if that person is trustworthy, it's fine! But here's the problem with placing your hope in other people: sometimes, they let you down. But I am here to tell you that placing your hope in Jesus will never result in you being let down. Lamentations 3 says this: "Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." What a wonderful thing, to know that your hope for eternal life in Heaven can be certain because Jesus is faithful! If you don't have this hope yet, look to Jesus. His mercies never fail. To learn more about this never-failing hope and to learn how pass it along to others, friends, relatives, coworkers...visit us at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What are you completely certain about? You can be sure the sun will rise to the east and set to the west. You can be sure that one plus one will always equal two. And you can be absolutely certain that you cannot get into Heaven because of the good things you've done. Now, before you write that off as a calloused statement or simply an opinion, consider what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that no one is good, not even one. It also says to be perfect, just as your Father in Heaven is perfect. It is a real problem for us if no one is good, yet we are expected to be perfect. We simply cannot do it! This problem is solved by the Person of Jesus Christ who was both God and Man - perfect, just and full of grace. You can be certain that placing your faith in Jesus is enough for eternal salvation. Have you accepted that grace? Find out more by visiting sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you ever wonder what happens after death? Does it worry you? Don told us on What's My Story Dot Org that he used to be pretty scared of dying. As a teenager, his best friend died suddenly in a car accident and at his funeral, he became overwhelmed with fear. Don didn't know where he would spend eternity. That has all changed now! Someone shared the Good News of Jesus with him, he accepted it and now he says that his fear of death has been replaced by peace with God! Now Don is living his life full of peace and telling others about the peace he has found in Jesus. Is this something you need? You know, Heaven is a completely free gift. You just have to accept the gift God has given you through Jesus Christ. If you need more information about how you can have peace in this life now, and certain eternal life when you die, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever thought, "that may be true for them, but that's not my truth"? But if something is actually true...then, it is in fact...true! Jesus Christ said, "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free." In fact, He declared that there is truth and not a relativistic truth. He didn't say you will know “a truth” or “your truth” but He said, you will know “the truth.” Today, people will say that we can't know anything for certain but, again, the Bible tells us in 1 John 5:13, that “These things have I written that you may know that you have eternal life." Now this is something you can count on to be true: Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He alone can save you. By believing the truth that Jesus took your sin upon Himself and broke down the wall that kept you from a relationship with God, you can have eternal life. Visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Just like adults, children need the hope of the Gospel. When they come to faith in Jesus, it changes everything for them. Jesus told His disciples in Luke eighteen, "Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, many churches attended a training to learn how to disciple the children of their churches with the Gospel. As practice for the training, they went house to house sharing the Gospel. Children all along the way decided to follow them up to the church where the workshop was being held. In two afternoons, they shared the Gospel to four hundred and eighteen children and adults; and among them, three hundred and fifty-five made professions of Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Many of the parents of the children asked the Sunday school teachers to come back and share with the families as well! To learn how to share your faith, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In a rural village in Peru, a church decided to start to prioritize discipling the children in their church. They decided to teach them in all the ways to grow—from Bible reading to knowing the key points of the Gospel and how to share their faith. And these third through fifth graders boldly went back to their village and started sharing with the adults in their community—from shop keepers to neighbors of theirs. And guess what? Adults started making professions of faith in Jesus! These children have had a tremendous impact in their village. And their mentors said this about them: "We thank God for this generation that stands in the gap and takes on the challenge to go and share with those who still do not know Jesus." And guess what? God calls us to be disciple makers too. What children has God placed in your life that you can disciple? For resources to help you get started, visit our website at sharelife.today. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Torosso is a humble village with a large population of children in Africa. The "little g" god of that village is named “kilè.” The pastor, who's the head of all of the churches in this area, said, “People are looking for the good God, but they don't know how or where [to find Him]. So they're living in spiritual darkness from generation to generation.” However, something big happened! One year, the church grew to over two hundred children. The children of the village started to understand that “kilè” is not the good or true god, so most of them joined the church to find out more about Jesus. And at their new church, the Gospel was not only shared with the children, but they're also being discipled in it. This will impact these children's lives for eternity, and the pastor believes these children will change their village to the glory of God. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Did you know that children are thirsty for the same Living Water that Jesus offers to all? They experience the same broken world that we as adults do—and they need the hope and love found only in Jesus. By The Hand, a non-profit that operates in Chicago, believes this whole-heartedly—so much so that they hold a Hope For Kids club for more than five hundred children every year. And as they walk through the Gospel each week, they see many of those children give their hearts and lives to Jesus. Bethany, a child who received Christ as her Savior through coming to the club, said, "I gave my life to Jesus because He died on the cross for me, He cares for me, He listens to me when I'm down." Her relationship with Jesus has changed everything for her. So, let's be intentional to share with the children in our communities and churches the Gospel, bringing them life, truth, and hope. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever thought about how many people one child interacts with throughout the course of his or her life? Children have their whole lives ahead of them. And everywhere they go, they meet people. So, just think, when a child is equipped to share their faith, the Gospel goes everywhere they go. And, have you noticed that children don't seem to have the same hang-ups talking about Jesus that we adults often have? They don't worry about what someone will think. They just want their friend or their mom or dad or grandparent to know Jesus – and so they tell them about Him. And in case you're wondering if it's really possible for children to share the Gospel, I can tell you from experience with Hope For Kids, our children's evangelism discipleship program, that children can share the Gospel and, dare I say, sometimes even better than some adults. So, don't forget that once children know Jesus, they can share Jesus. To learn more about sharing the Gospel, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. It's time to get creative! The truth is, as a body of Christ, we all bring different skills and passions. And so do the younger people in the church! And we can meet them in the middle and use their passions as a way to disciple them. In Romania, every summer they hold a national camp for a week where they focus on discipling teenagers. And every year, there are around one hundred and twenty students from across Europe—and the world!—who join. They focus on three key areas: equipping them with how to share the Gospel, street evangelism and reaching the community, and sports activities like zip lining, competitions, mountain climbing, and all kinds of sports. Not only are these young people sharing their faith and seeing other's hearts and lives changed, they are also having a blast doing it! Now what can we do to disciple the young people in our churches in how the Gospel? Let's meet them where they're at. For resources, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. When we say yes to God and faithfully share the Gospel, something powerful happens—He uses us as messengers of hope, and we get to witness lives transformed firsthand… just like He once changed ours. In the Czech Republic, a group of believers recently completed evangelism discipleship training. Peter, one of the students, shared that his fear of rejection is now gone—and the door to evangelism has opened for him. Another trainee, Romana, described it as “a breakthrough.” She went from hiding during outreach to boldly sharing her testimony—even with her own family. During the training, they were able to share the Gospel was shared 33 times, and saw 13 people place their trust in Jesus. And then, they got to see all thirteen's lives changed instantly! When we're faithful to go, God is faithful to move. God can use you as part of someone's story too. Let's get going! Visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Christianity has always been just one generation from extinction. I mean — think about it. All it takes is for one generation to drop the ball for the next generation to miss the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. They cannot pass along what they do not have. And it can happen in just one generation. In Judges 2, an entire generation grew up not knowing the Lord and what He had done for nation of Israel, because the previous generation did not pass it along. So what do we do? How can we engage the younger generation with the Gospel in a way that's real and personal? Well firstly, we can start by giving children and young adults a strong foundation in the Gospel. And secondly, we can allow them be an integral part in building God's Kingdom right now by helping them share the most exciting gift that they have: their faith. For more on discipling the next generation, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The focus of Jesus' Great Commission is not in making converts, but rather in making disciples. This was the mark of His ministry on earth, and this is the mark of the mentors we need in the Church today. So, please don't hear me wrong. It is absolutely vital that we share our faith and that everyone gets an opportunity to hear the Gospel. But once they do make a decision to give their life to Christ, we want to equip and disciple them as a new believer. We can't just leave them were they're at and carry on with our lives! It's important for us to give the new believer a track to run on — as Paul modeled for us throughout the New Testament when he encourages believers to run the race and keep the faith. We have the privilege of being disciple-makers across the generations. And it starts with our willingness to share the Gospel. For more resources to help you get started in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Mark Dever says, "The Christian life is the discipled life and the discipling life.” We need both to grow a healthy, full walk with Christ. So let's take our time to study the Word, pray without ceasing, fellowship with other Christians, worship our amazing, Living God, and share our faith with others. And even better if these things happen under a mentor who has walked with God longer than us! This will set us on a path of being discipled. And then, we ourselves are called to reach out and disciple someone else. This could look like us sharing the Gospel, seeing someone give their life to Christ, and then walking with them in spiritual growth as a new believer. I can personally tell you — experiencing this lights a fire in the soul and an excitement and joy in your walk with Christ! This is a picture of what the church should be—discipleship reaching across the generations. For more resources to get you started, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you know a young person who wants to change the world? Well today, it seems that young people have an endless fountain of passion for impacting the world. And that's great! But what if we could direct that passion toward transforming the world with the Good News of the Gospel? In the book of Acts, we read about Paul who said, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.” And that message of hope changed the world for all of eternity. And it is our privilege and joy to raise up the next generation, to carry on the Good News of Jesus, and to disciple believers who will carry out Kingdom work. Because they will be impacting the world regardless as their generation become the leaders of churches, businesses, and communities. So let us take the time to intentionally disciple the teenagers around us to be able to share their faith. And if you aren't sure where to start, we would love to help. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, sometimes we hesitate to share our faith—worried people won't be open or interested. But here's what we are seeing around the world—more than 60% of the people that we ask are open to having a spiritual conversation. And Samuel and his team recently saw this in Romania. They visited two churches to train believers—young and old—in sharing the Gospel. And during the training, something amazing happened. One team after another shared stories of people who were open, interested, and genuinely curious about eternal life. In fact, one seventeen-year-old boy listened intently and then place his trust in Jesus, accepting Him as Lord and Savior of his life! You know, one of the pastors equipped was deeply moved—not just by those that they saw come to know Jesus—but by how open people were to talking about faith. So let's not miss an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus because of fear. Let's get sharing! For help, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Europe is often called post-modern—where many believe that no one wants to hear the Gospel. But we know the Word of God is alive and active and that the Gospel is always effective in every corner of the world! God still changes lives...and in Spain, He's doing it through young people! Earlier this year, 18 teenagers were trained to share their faith. And just months later, at a youth missionary camp in Palma de Mallorca, they put that training into action—reaching 94 people with the Gospel with 15 accepting Jesus. These young believers discovered how simple it is to start spiritual conversations—and how powerful it is when they do. You know, God isn't finished with Europe. He's using His people—young and old—to bring the hope found in Jesus to their communities. And if God can do that in Spain, well He can do that here too. So let's not wait. Let's share the Gospel. To learn how, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In Romania, over 150 teenagers recently came together for a sports and discipleship camp—and it was incredible to see what God did! They all signed up to play sports...and to learn how to share their faith. What may seem like a strange combination has been an impactful experience for years in Romania, as Christian leaders pour into these teens. Many previous graduates have been significantly impacted and even become leaders in the church in Romania. And these teens walked through the same exact experience this year. They played sports and were equipped to share their faith—and then sent out to do it. On just the first day, 98 people heard the Gospel. And in the span of a few short hours, 13 made decisions to trust in Jesus alone. So let's be intentional about discipling the next generation—using the gifts God has given us for His glory. For more, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This summer, we're taking a look around the world and seeing God is at work. And this week, we will be hearing stories of what God is doing in Europe. Europe is perhaps one of the most post-modern places on the planet, and yet, God is moving in mighty ways through this continent. Even in these past years of war and great political turmoil, hundreds of thousands of people have given their lives to Christ. Some of these have been refugees that have flooded across the borders of nations. And Christians in countries like Moldova, and Romania, and Poland have been able to come together and bring supplies to those in need. In addition to these acts of love, they've been able to share the Gospel, and many have come to know Jesus because of it. Let's join in and be faithful witnesses in our communities as well. To learn more about how you can be active in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In Brazil, a young girl's life was transformed when someone shared the Gospel with her at an evangelism training. She made the decision that day that she wanted Jesus to come into her heart and be her Lord and Savior. The following day, she told her grandma and asked if she could take her Bible to school. And even though her grandma wasn't sure it was a good idea, the little girl quietly tucked her Bible and some Gospel tracts that she had just received into her backpack. As a result, she shared the Gospel with three of her friends who, after hearing her share, asked if they could accept Jesus too. Through one life that was changed, three more were also transformed. You see, this is the power of spiritual multiplication—impacting lives far beyond what we might imagine. So let's be faithful to share the Gospel, because you never now how God will continue to use it. For more, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. If you've ever wonder whether discipling young people is worth it—just look at what's happening in Chile! Every Tuesday, two dedicated teachers at Liceo San Sebastián are discipling seventy-one teenagers in 7th and 8th grade. These teachers were personally trained to share their faith, and they quickly realized their calling was also help shape the next generation to know and to love Jesus. And God has faithfully blessed their commitment. Just recently, twenty-one 8th graders received the gift of eternal life by hearing and understanding the Gospel clearly. What an incredible reminder that the Gospel is powerful—no matter your age. When young people are discipled, they don't just grow...they go. They share their faith with their classmates, their family, their friends. And if they can boldly proclaim the Gospel at their schools, surely, we can do the same in our communities. Not sure how to get started? Visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. If you've ever wondered whether someone is “ready” to share their faith—just look at the children in Honduras. These young believers recently completed the second level of evangelism discipleship training in their church, and they're not waiting until they're older to obey God's call. They're boldly sharing the Gospel right now with their friends, their classmates, and even their families! It's a powerful reminder of Proverbs twenty-two verse six: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” You see, when kids love Jesus and are discipled to share His love with others, we see them naturally rise to the challenge. They can't stop sharing with everyone they know. And if they can do it with such faith, courage, and joy...what's stopping us? The truth is, we're all called to share the Gospel! So let's follow their lead. Let's both equip the next generation—and say “yes” ourselves to sharing. For more, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. God has given every believer a clear calling—to share the Gospel. And that call doesn't change based on where we live, what challenges we face, or even how we communicate. In Bolivia, a group of Christians recently came together for an evangelism discipleship workshop—where they were trained and equipped to share their faith within the Deaf community. For many, it was their first time learning how to communicate through sign language. But they said yes to God's call, and they're now stepping out in faith to reach people who may never have had the chance to understand the Gospel before. You see, when we step out in obedience—no matter the obstacles—God provides what we need. And these believers in Bolivia showed they are willing to learn opens doors for the Gospel that might otherwise stay closed. So wherever you are, whatever you're up against, remember—God wants to use you to share the Gospel. For more, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. We are so excited to share more stories about what's happening around the globe with you. And this week, our spotlight is Latin America! God is so faithful. Truly, as we walk with Him and seek His will, God shows up. And as we're faithful to His command to share the Gospel, we see Him change lives before our very eyes! This happened in Latin America this past year. At one of our evangelism discipleship trainings in Colombia, Milagro came to learn more about God and evangelism. During the training, she felt God speak to her regarding salvation and revealed to her that she couldn't do enough good works to save herself. Only by placing her trust in Jesus and what He did on the cross could she be saved. She felt like a woman free of working her way to heaven. She told us joyfully, “It is by the grace of God that I'm saved!” Want to learn how you can share the Gospel clearly? Well, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, when we ask God to guide our steps, He answers—often in powerful and unexpected ways. In the city of Gori, Georgia—the country not the state—a group of believers prayed that God would lead them to someone who was truly seeking Him. Moments later, a church member called and asked if they could visit a widow named Elene. Well, when the team arrived, Elene shared her heartbreaking story: after her husband—a military officer—died in a tragic car accident, her world simply collapsed. Grieving, working long hours for little pay, and raising two children alone, Elene was overwhelmed and hopeless. But that day, she heard the Gospel clearly—and responded with tears and joy, kneeling to pray and place her trust in Jesus. She said, “I'm now confident that I'll be with God in heaven.” God still answers the cries of the broken—and He uses people like you and me to bring His hope. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. No matter where people live, they are deeply desperate for the love and hope found only in Jesus. Take Nikolai from Kazakhstan, for example. He struggled for years with alcoholism and had been through more than 20 rehab centers. He visited over 20 churches, searching for help. But *Nikolai believed that being a “good person” was what would get him to heaven—he didn't understand the Gospel. When Alexei shared with him the Good News—that salvation is a free gift from Jesus, not earned by works—Nikolai was amazed. He said, “No one's ever told me that Heaven is a free gift! From that moment, I can no longer be the same! Jesus has changed me!” Now, Nikolai is studying the Bible and preparing to be baptized at his church. His story is a powerful reminder: no matter where we are, Jesus meets us in our struggles, and He offers us real hope. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In the Middle East, sharing the Gospel isn't just difficult — it's dangerous. But that hasn't stopped believers like Jasur in Uzbekistan. This past June, he traveled to the city of Gulistan to support a fellow Christian and reconnect with some old contacts. What followed was a powerful, Spirit-led gathering where testimonies were shared and the Gospel was presented to a room full of attentive hearts. And one young woman, Gulnora, and her sister were struggling—torn between Islam, their father's religion, and Christianity, their mother's faith. Their hearts leaned toward Jesus. Jasur didn't pressure them. He shared the Gospel clearly with them, left a Bible, and promised to pray. If Jasur can share the Gospel even in such a dangerous region, well, we certainly can share to our communities too. There are people waiting to hear the hope that can only be found in Jesus. So let's be bold in our witness. To learn how, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, evangelism doesn't always result in an immediate decision—but that doesn't mean God isn't at work. Pavel from Belarus led Bible lessons at a Christian camp for children with disabilities. And there, he connected with a family—Ihar, Hanna, and their three children. On the last day around a campfire, they attentively listened to Pavel share the Gospel, but they weren't ready to make a decision to follow Jesus. Well, a year later, Pavel met them again at the same camp, but they had not come as campers. They had volunteered to serve at the camp! They shared with Pavel how God had been working in their lives. In the year since he had seen them, they all accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Pavel was filled with great joy! You know, we, like Pavel, have been commissioned by Jesus to share the Gospel. But it's God who does the work of transformation in His perfect timing. Let's be bold and share. For more, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This summer, we're hearing stories from across the globe; and this week, we're spotlighting what God is doing in Eurasia. This large region may be the hardest and most difficult place to be a Christian. And yet, the Gospel is going forth. Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, and Russia are just a few of the 14 countries that make up this region, with different cultures, religions, and social standards of life. And it's vast—Russia alone has over eleven time zones! And even in this difficult area, we praise God for the thousands of Christians who have learned how to share their faith and the hundreds of thousands of people who have put their trust in Jesus Christ last year alone. Let's remember to pray for our brothers- and sisters-in-Christ in Eurasia who are telling others about the Good News of Jesus despite the dangers. And may we be encouraged that we too can step out in faith and share the Gospel. For more, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you know that there are people we pass by every day that are living entrapped in fear and condemnation? Many know how vast their sins are but have no answer for what to do about it. They're hopeless and lost. And what a pity if we don't go and tell them about the amazing grace found only in Jesus. Wari from Papua New Guinea was out with his team in a village witnessing when they came across a woman. And as the conversation developed, they asked her if she was sure that she was going to heaven. She replied, "No, I know I'm going to hell." Because of some great sins she committed in her past, she knew confidently where her destination was. But Wari said, "We have Good News for you!" And they told her about how Jesus paid for her sins on the cross in full. With tears in her eyes, she put her faith in Jesus Christ. You know, we can bring that hope to others as we're sharing the Gospel? For resources how, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Today, I want to share with you an incredible story from New Zealand! Raj and Joyce unexpectedly encountered two high school students at a local mall. After striking up a conversation, they asked them spiritual questions, and both girls accepted Jesus after hearing the Gospel! And as the conversation continued, they discovered that the girls were struggling and homeless. They had run away from their homes, and right before Raj and Joyce had arrived, they had been praying for help. They felt compelled to offer them not only spiritual guidance but also a place to stay for the night and a warm meal. Well, that same night, Raj conveyed the importance of repentance from sin as well as the story of the prodigal son. The girls felt both convicted and contacted their parents to tell them they were safe. The next day, they were joyfully reunited. Raj and Joyce praised God for this picture of redemption and reconciliation through the Gospel. Learn how you too can share by visiting sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone's in Christ, he is a new creation…” And this is exactly what happened in Sam's life. But, really, the story starts a Christian named Pete in Australia. Pete received a text from his pastor's wife asking if he would speak with an ex-inmate facing difficult challenges in his life. Well, when they met, Sam was transparent about the many struggles and hardships that he was facing, including his hatred of those of a certain religion. Well, Pete quickly turned the conversation to spiritual matters and shared the Gospel with Sam. And with tears in his eyes, Sam accepted Jesus as his Savior and confessed that he had planned to hurt people at a local place of worship. But now, his hatred melted away as he realized that he was a sinner and that Jesus paid the debt for his sin. He repented of his plan and turned to Jesus. Hallelujah! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How far are we willing to go for the Gospel? Well, I know that it can sometimes feel impossible to even broach the topic of spiritual things with others; but truthfully, it is easier than we think. God provides opportunities for us to share, whether He brings the person to us or asks us to step out in faith and find them. And for some, they are very willing to go the extra mile. Beverly is the National Director of EE in Vanuatu, and it is common for her and her team to pack up a boat and sail across the ocean to another smaller island. And they do this to teach Christians how to confidently and lovingly share their faith, and then they see person after person give their lives to Christ. And if Beverly can do that for Jesus, well…we can too. So who can you go the extra mile to share the Gospel with this week? For more on how you can share your faith, visit sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. I'm excited this week to continue telling you more about what God is doing around the globe. And Oceania is our spotlight! In the ministry of Evangelism Explosion, we have seven key nations that span almost four thousand miles each way across the Pacific...and they help disciple Christians all across this vast continent! From New Zealand to the Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea to the Cook Islands, and everywhere in between, Oceania is a large area to cover. And yet, the Gospel is going forth! Our Vice President of Oceania, Anne Bowie, shared with us recently that they have never experienced a better year in the ministry or more exciting time to be a Christian in Oceania. And this is because they are seeing young leaders being raised as disciple-makers in the church and more people than ever are making professions of faith in Jesus. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In Matthew 9, Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” It's easy to get caught up in church programs and forget—we're also called to go out. Pastor Manat from Indonesia shared how many churches—including theirs—grow inward, focusing only on existing members while ignoring the lost. But recently, God stirred something powerful in his heart. He joined thirty other pastors and leaders from twelve churches for an one of our evangelism discipleship trainings in Parapat. They were equipped—and sent out! Together, they shared the Gospel with 88 high school students and 31 future pastors in training. They saw the Holy Spirit move and many place their trust in Jesus. The harvest is ready. And you don't have to wait—you can be equipped to share your faith today! Let's go into our communities with the Gospel. Visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Being a follower of Jesus means being a lifelong learner—continually growing, being discipled, and equipping others to do the same. Our sanctification—becoming more and more like Jesus—doesn't stop after one lesson or one experience; it's our daily commitment to grow deeper in our faith by reading the Bible, praying, worshipping God, fellowshipping with other believers, and sharing the Gospel with those around us. Recently, at Lomasson Alliance Bible College in the Philippines, 43 seminary students from 37 churches took an evangelism discipleship training to help them learn how they could share their faith. They then went into their community to share the Gospel with 84 people—80 of whom made decisions to follow Jesus! Praise the Lord! Let's be intentional and make investments in our spiritual growth. Whether you're just starting or have been walking with Christ for years, you can begin today. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What if one day off could lead to a lifetime of impact? In Timor Leste, a group of pastors and children's leaders decided to spend their free day not on rest—but on mission. These faithful Indonesian leaders chose to be equipped through a Hope For Kids training through our ministry, which is a children's evangelism discipleship curriculum. Their goal? To learn how to share the Gospel clearly and confidently—and to disciple the next generation in their churches and communities. And they didn't just attend—they engaged. With open hearts and eager minds, they practiced how to present the Gospel in a way children can understand. Their decision to be trained means the kids in their care will not only hear the Good News—but learn how to share it with others too. Let's use our time for something that truly matters. Let's start sharing the Gospel and discipling the next generation for Jesus. For resources to help you get started, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Why is it so important to be equipped to share our faith? Because the opportunity to lead someone to Christ can come when we least expect it—and we need to be ready. Gan Shuo from Malaysia joined a Hope for Kids workshop just to support the Sunday School ministry. But through that training, God gave Gan a new burden: to personally share the Gospel with each of the 12-year-olds in the class—before they drift away in their teen years. During on-the-job training, Gan had the chance to share the Gospel with a student who didn't speak Mandarin well. But because Gan had been trained—and had support from a senior trainer—the Gospel was clearly presented in English. That child prayed to receive Christ! That moment was a clear reminder: when we're trained and willing, God will use us. Don't wait until you feel ready—get equipped, and let God do the rest. Need help getting started? Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This summer, we're hearing stories from around the world, and this week, Asia is our spotlight continent! And even though Asia has a land mass of almost thirty percent of the Earth, they have 60% of the world's population. They are very diverse having 44% of the world's people groups with very different cultures and languages! By God's grace, we've come alongside local churches to disciple Christians on how to share their faith with the people around them in all of Asia. And last year, by the grace of God, there were over twenty million people who heard the Gospel in Asia and worldwide through Christians learning how to share their faith. And what's incredible is that our Asian brothers- and sisters-in-Christ are not only sharing the Gospel in their own communities, but they're also sending missionaries to other parts of Asia and the world. Want to learn how you, too, can share your faith? For resources to help you get started, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I'll hear from heaven, and I'll forgive their sin and will heal their land." This promise from God found in 2 Chronicles gives us such hope—even in a time where hope is scarce in our country. But here's the truth: God is faithful; He keeps His promises. So, we must humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face. We must turn from our wicked ways and repent of our sins. That's the power of the Gospel. When we place our trust in Jesus alone and turn from our sins, when we accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives...everything changes. And when this happens in a person after person, well...our culture and country changes. It heals as we're healed. So let's not delay—let's share the Gospel. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Things change when a community comes together. We see this time and time again in our neighborhoods, cities, and country. And this very same principle applies to telling others about Jesus. We're stronger together. In Namibia, Africa, this is happening all across the country. But I'd love to share with you an example of the local churches. They came together for an evangelism training event for children's workers, where they taught Hope For Kids, a program that disciples children to share their faith. And then, they took it back to their churches and started implementing it. And children in the community's lives started to change. And through that, the community started to change. This was all because Christians like you and me decided to come together and make an impact. And these believers were part of over 4 million children hearing the Gospel this past year worldwide. And we praise God for that! For more on how you can learn to share your faith, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. I met a pastor a few years ago who told me that evangelism doesn't work anymore. He told me you can't go and talk to people because the culture doesn't approve. Do you know where this pastor was from? The African nation of Zambia. Unfortunately, that is a common statement we often hear around the world. However, I asked this pastor if he'd be open to come to a training near his home in Zambia and test his theory. Well, during that week, the Gospel was shared with 234 people with 158 giving their lives to Christ. Needless to say, he not only had a change of heart but a renewed passion for sharing the Gospel. And this is what we want to happen in our country. Sharing the Gospel is still effective. People are open to hearing the Good News of the Gospel…so let's share! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The Gospel changes everything. Can I get an amen?! In our day and age, what's happening in our country and culture makes things look very bleak. But there is truth that we as Christians believe...the Gospel changes people from the inside out. And when people are changed, communities change. When communities change, cities are changed; and when cities are changed, nations are changed. The power of the Gospel is salvation for all who put their trust in Jesus and Him alone. So if we want to change our country and our culture, we need to start with the Gospel. Its transforming power changes hurting, sinful hearts to joyful, peace-filled ones. Because when someone puts their trust in Jesus, He gives them the Holy Spirit who gifts them with these things. I don't know about you, but I want every person I can tell to know about the love of Jesus and the hope that's found only in Him. So let's get sharing! Visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. We should all want hope in our country. But you know what? We'll never have hope in our country until we have hope in our cities. And we'll never have hope in our cities until we have hope on our streets. We'll never have hope on our streets until we have hope in our homes. And we'll never have hope in our homes until we have hope in our heart. So then, here's the question: how do we get hope in our hearts? The source is Jesus Christ. Jesus came so that we could have new life. And it is that new life that is the fountain of hope within us. Billy Graham said it well, "For the believer, there is hope beyond the grave, because Jesus Christ has opened the door to heaven for us by His death and resurrection." This eternal hope starts the moment we put our trust in Jesus and carries through all eternity. To learn how to share this hope, visit sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What's more valuable than worldly success? In Matthew 16:26, Jesus asked, “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet [lose] their soul?” Well, we know, it's Jesus that is the greatest treasure a person can attain. And that's the heart behind what's happening in Vienna, Virginia, where a local church trained 22 new believers to confidently share the Gospel. During one recent night where they went out to the community to share their faith, one of the teams met a man named Insu. At first, Insu said he hoped God would forgive him—but he wasn't sure of his eternal future. That night, the team gently walked him through the Gospel, and Insu prayed to receive the gift of eternal life. By the end, he answered both diagnostic questions with joy and clarity! When Christians are equipped, they become bold and effective witnesses for Christ—anywhere, anytime. Want to get equipped? We'd love to help. For resources, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever felt unprepared to share your faith—but knew the Holy Spirit was prompting you to speak up anyway? That's exactly what happened to one of our new trainees in Jamaica. After just the first day of evangelism training, she went home and began talking with a colleague. All she had learned so far were the two diagnostic questions and the hand illustration. But even with just that, she felt God nudging her to share. She asked the questions—and to her surprise, her colleague said “Yes,” she wanted to receive the free gift of eternal life! Stunned, the trainee prayed for her and with her. She didn't yet know all she could with sharing her faith, but she knew enough. And God used her. She could share the Gospel and saw her coworker's life change for eternity. Her story is a powerful reminder: it's not about having all the answers—it's about saying yes when God leads. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Sometimes, the most powerful Gospel conversations happen in the most unexpected places. In Trinidad, during an evangelism discipleship training, Darren and his trainer approached a group of men hanging out, drinking, and listening to loud music. But off to the side, one man named Wallen sat alone. His car was being repaired—but God had something greater in store. They struck up a conversation and asked him, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how fulfilling is your life?” Wallen said “six” and explained he felt something was missing—he was thirsty to be closer to God. That opened the door to the Gospel. By the end, Wallen put his trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Darren said that using the Gospel outline helped him share with clarity and confidence—and Wallen walked away with the assurance of eternal life. Want to learn how to share your faith too? Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Has fear ever held you back from sharing your faith—even when you knew God was prompting you? Elizabeth felt exactly the same. Before receiving evangelism training, Elizabeth had the desire to share the Gospel—but fear often held her back. Like many of us, she second-guessed approaching strangers, unsure how to begin. But then she went through our evangelism discipleship training—and everything changed. She learned a simple, effective way to share the Gospel, built around two key questions. It gave her confidence and clarity. One Saturday morning, she prayed for “ripe fruit” and followed the Holy Spirit's prompting to speak to a young man. He not only accepted Christ—he came to church that same day and brought his brother, who also gave his life to the Lord! Elizabeth's confidence grew because she was equipped. And that made an eternal difference in two lives. Want to be ready when God gives you opportunities to share your faith? For resources, visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Over the course of the summer, we will be sharing with you some stories, thoughts, and encouragements from our staff on each continent around the globe. This week, we will be sharing testimonies from North America! I have heard many wary Christians doubt whether anyone is open to the Gospel here in the United States. We have seen Christians at our Equip America events start the day saying, "I'm scared...I don't want to go out." But then at the end, they will be saying something like, "We need to do this every day! Our whole church needs to be a part of this!" Because the truth is, sharing our faith is not as scary as we think it will be, and more people are open to hearing it than we imagine. In fact, we did a study with Lifeway Research that found that sixty-six percent of Americans are open to having a conversation about faith. So let's get started. If you need help in sharing your faith, we're here to help! Visit our website at sharelife.today.
Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. When we learn to share the Gospel, we become part of something eternal. This past September, Samuel walked into our ministry's offices in Uganda. Homeless, jobless, and abandoned, he'd spent nights on the streets of Kampala, desperate and hopeless. He told us, “I thought about ending my life so many times…I just needed someone to talk to.” And that's when he met Francis. Francis listened, and he shared the Gospel. In just 25 minutes, Samuel surrendered his life to Jesus, tears streaming down his face. He received a Bible, prayer, and a bus ticket home. And just four days later—Samuel got a job offer just out of the blue! Today, he's working and growing in his faith at a local church in his hometown. God works through believers who'll bring hope to people like Samuel. But it's our job to be ready to share! Not sure how to share your faith?
