Share Life Today, in stories from real-life encounters, challenges lay people to learn to share the Gospel every day in an ordinary conversation, to know how to ask great questions, and to testify to the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In His famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." You know, persecution can be a difficult topic to talk about; and yet if we are followers of Christ, Jesus Himself said that we will face it. But it will not be in vain. Christ promises that when we share in His sufferings by facing insults and false accusations that there is a reward. When I read this, I am encouraged that firstly, I am not in this alone—Jesus has experienced the very same rejection. And secondly, there is no reason to be scared to share my faith because even if it ends in persecution, my Savior says, “Rejoice.” So let's take heart and share! For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The auditorium was packed. As I stopped and looked around, I heard dozens of languages being spoken at the same time. We all settled into our seats as our time together was called to order. This was Evangelism Explosion's third Congress of Nations, and eighty-three different countries were represented. During that morning, we sang "How Great is Our God" (which is a powerful song in and of itself), but this time the worship leader asked for everyone to sing in their own language. Words cannot describe the beauty of that moment—where Arabic was sung alongside Czech and Fijian. And you know, this is exactly what heaven is going to be like—because every tribe, tongue, and nation will be there. And we have the privilege of inviting people to be a part of that group by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! So let's be part of that day by being bold witnesses for God today. For more on how, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In the book of Ephesians, we read, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." So let us not neglect praying for our brothers and sisters all around the world. They're fighting for their faith on their knees; and often, both their lives and livelihoods are in jeopardy simply for following Christ. So how can we join them in prayer? Well firstly, we should pray for their safety as they worship and share the Gospel in cultures that discriminate against them for their faith. Secondly, we should pray for resources, as many of our brothers and sisters face poverty, hunger, and disease. And thirdly, we should pray for perseverance—that even despite what they face that they continue to grow in their walks with Christ and share it with others who need the same hope. Want specific requests you can pray for? Visit our website and sign up as a prayer partner at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. "Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Have you ever heard this famous Biblical passage before? You know, it's called the Great Commission, and it's Christ's final command to us before He returned to Heaven. Unfortunately, it can be something that Christians ignore for a number of reasons. One of them is that we get involved in all kinds of seemingly good things that keep us all too busy. Jim Collins wrote a widely used book in the business world that opens with this statement, “Good is the enemy of great.” And so many times we get involved in all kinds of good things; and yet, they are not the great thing that we could be doing in seeing men and women come to Jesus. Christ said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” And His last command should be out first concern. For more resources on sharing the Gospel, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What are you completely certain about? You can be sure the sun will rise to the east and set to the west. You can be sure that one plus one will always equal two. And you can be absolutely certain that you cannot get into Heaven because of the good things you've done. Now, before you write that off as a calloused statement or simply an opinion, consider what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that no one is good, not even one. It also says to be perfect, just as your Father in Heaven is perfect. It is a real problem for us if no one is good, yet we are expected to be perfect. We simply cannot do it! This problem is solved by the Person of Jesus Christ who was both God and Man - perfect, just and full of grace. You can be certain that placing your faith in Jesus is enough for eternal salvation. Have you accepted that grace? Find out more by visiting ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever thought, 'that may be true for them, but that's not my truth'? But if something is actually true...then, it is in fact...true! Jesus Christ said, "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free." In fact, He declared that there is truth and not a relativistic truth. He didn't say you will know “a truth” or “your truth” but He said, you will know “the truth.” Today, people will say that we can't know anything for certain but, again, the Bible tells us in 1 John 5:13, that “These things have I written that you may know that you have eternal life." Now this is something you can count on to be true: Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He alone can save you. By believing the truth that Jesus took your sin upon Himself and broke down the wall that kept you from a relationship with God, you can have eternal life. Visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. 'Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.' Do you have this kind of faith? Saving faith. You see, faith is like a key. There are many similar keys, but only one can open the door of Heaven. Let me explain first what saving faith is not. It's isn't a blind leap into the dark and it's not merely intellectual. Saving faith is not temporary faith, either. It is fully trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. It's not just believing that Jesus could be a way to get into Heaven or that He was a good man, it is a life fully surrendered and trusting Him. So have you put your faith in Jesus alone? It's the most important decision you could ever make. If you are ready to know for sure that Heaven will be your home one day, you just have to accept God's gift of grace in Jesus. For more information, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Are you a good person? You know, most people would probably say they are pretty good. Not perfect all the time, but not so bad, either. But by what standard? The Bible actually gives us the standard. Jesus says in Matthew 5:48, "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Now, that creates a problem because the Bible also says 'there is no one who does good. No not one." So if our good isn't good enough, how can we earn our way into Heaven? We can't! Our best efforts could never get us close, but God, rich in mercy made a way for us! While we could never deserve it, Jesus came to earth and took our punishment upon Himself. Now all we have to do is accept God's gift of grace! So, stop trying to work your way into Heaven. Instead, place your faith in the work that Jesus did for you on the cross. If you need to know more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. I have a question for you. It may be something you don't think about often, but I am sure you have considered it before at least a time or two. Here's the question: do you know for sure that you will be with God in Heaven? Whatever your answer may be, there is another important follow up question. If you were to die today and stand before God and He were to say to you, 'why should I let you into My Heaven?' What would you say? Think about your answers to those questions, and consider the peace you could have if you did know you would spend eternity in Heaven. Heaven is a free gift that cannot be earned or deserved. All you need to do is place your faith in Jesus Christ alone. Only Jesus has the key to Heaven. So, do you know for sure? If you don't, we have resources at ShareLife.Today. ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, shared about how He has seen God's faithfulness in his own life, “God's blessing has been beyond anything I could have imagined. In between, we started a satellite delivery company called Ambos. And it's clear based on who I am and who we are, that God's hand was in it every step of the way.” Through Ambos, God used Jim and his team to help Christian radio grow—pushing Gospel content to stations around the world. Jim could see God's hand in it all. And the same is true in our lives. When we look back, we see God's faithfulness—how He's guided and transformed us since we placed our trust in Him alone. And sharing our “God stories” can open doors to Gospel conversations. So today, tell someone how God's been faithful to you—and then share the Good News. For help and to watch the full interview with Jim Sanders, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, shared a powerful quote. “I love the quote from the new chairman of Home Depot, who coming on board, met with all his senior staff, and they were all talking about how wonderful it used to be, how the glory days. And he said, when your memories exceed your dreams, the end is near. And I added the corollary—when your dreams exceed your memories, the future is bright.” What a great quote! You know, it's good to look back and remember God's faithfulness. The stories of what He's done encourage us and build our faith. But we can't stay there. God's mission moves forward — and there are still so many who need to hear the Gospel. So let's thank God for His faithfulness yesterday and keep working for His Kingdom today. Let's keep sharing the Greatest News. To watch the full interview with Jim Sanders, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, says something every believer needs to remember: “We want them to know us by our love. We want be a good representative of the Lord. But more importantly, this is part of our mission.” You and I are called to be ambassadors for Christ — living examples of His love, grace, and truth in a world that desperately needs Him. When people see how we love, forgive, and serve, they get a glimpse of Jesus through us. But our mission doesn't stop there. As we love, forgive, serve, and walk beside people, we share the Gospel with them. We can back up our actions with our words. There are so many we see everyday that are longing for the hope and peace found only through Jesus. So let's represent Him well today — and take seriously this mission to share the Good News with everyone we can. To watch the full interview with Jim Sanders, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, has watched God turn ordinary days into extraordinary opportunities. He said, “As I've watched you over and over and over again, demonstrate how the Lord orchestrates—you would never imagine in a million years. And yet, if you're obedient and take that first step and get past that fear you might have, the result is incredible.” God's Divine Appointments have been one of my favorite things to witness in my walk with God. He arranges moments that connect hearts and advance the Gospel in ways we could never plan on our own. So today, pause and ask the Lord to orchestrate your steps. He delights in aligning your path with someone who needs to hear about Jesus. And when He does, I'd encourage you to step out and share the Gospel. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jim Sanders, Executive Vice President of Ambassador Advertising, has seen God's hand in the most unexpected moments. He said, “The fact that there are these divine serendipities, there are no chance meetings.” Every encounter—whether with a neighbor, a stranger in line, or someone sitting next to you—may be an appointment set by God Himself. I remember meeting a young man at a bus stop when I was out with a team in Arizona, who shared that he was just sitting there thinking about what was shared at his AA meeting, that having a relationship with God could change everything. He asked us if we knew what that meant. And we were able to share the Gospel with him. So the next time you meet someone unexpectedly, remember—it's not coincidence, it's divine design. So be ready to share the Gospel as God leads you! For resources to help you share the Gospel or to watch the full interview with Jim Sanders, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we talk about preparing ourselves to share the Gospel this week, we would be missing an opportunity if we didn't talk about one of the most important tools—the Word of God. In Hebrews, the author writes that "the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." When we do training in evangelism at EE, we always make it a point to memorize Scripture. Because it is powerful! It works in the hearts of those we share it with. So let me encourage you today—start hiding God's Word in your heart and begin to share it with others. Start with John 3:16 or Acts 16:31, which says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." You'll see God take it and use it to change lives. For more resources on how you can share your faith, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Homebuilders follow a pattern. It's called a blueprint. Chefs follow a pattern. It's called a recipe. Drivers follow a pattern. It's called a map. Patterns provide design and order and structure. Even the apostle Paul used a pattern in his spiritual teaching. “Follow the pattern of sound teaching you have heard from me” is the instruction that he gave to one of his students, Timothy. When it comes to explaining the Gospel to another person, a pattern is very important and helps us know what to say. The Gospel is not just our testimony or us talking about our church. The Gospel is a Biblical explanation as to why Jesus, and what He did on the cross, is so very important. We at EE have a pattern that teaches the key components of the Gospel, and I would encourage you to learn it, so you can share it and pass it on. For more resources on how you can prepare to share, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. We often say, at EE, that witnessing without prayer is presumption. The truth is, we cannot effectively share Jesus with others unless we begin with prayer. Prayer invites the Holy Spirit to go with us and to lead the conversation. He's the One who gives us the words to say. He's the One who speaks to and ultimately changes hearts. Without Him, we go alone. So as we talk about preparing to share the Gospel this week, I want you to know that preparation begins with prayer. The Bible says in first John that "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." Is it God's will for people to hear the Good News of the Gospel? Well, you bet! So let's begin to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and opportunities to share. And let's get prepared! For more resources on how you can share your faith, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. We were gathered together on a Thursday night for evangelism training. This particular night, Dr. D. James Kennedy caught the attention of a young man on the front row and said, “Don't move—not even a muscle! You have a poisonous snake under you chair. Don't look! He's looking right at your leg. When he looks away, I'll tell you. Be ready to jump out of that chair. Steady...ready...JUMP!” That young man nearly jumped through the roof! The point that Dr. Kennedy made was simple. If that young man really believed him, then his belief would have certainly, logically, radically turned to action. True belief always does. And the truth we believe is that there is a hurting world in need of a Savior. Jesus came and died to forgive us our sins if only we'll believe. But many don't know because they haven't heard. And it's our job to tell them. So let's get prepared and be ready to share. Visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As Peter so eloquently said in first peter three fifteen, we must always be ready to give an account for the hope that dwells within us. Jesus Himself commissioned us to go and to share what He did on the cross with others in a winsome and respectful way. So let me ask you...are you prepared to impart that hope to others? When we at EE start teaching Christians how to share their faith, we usually start with the fears we are up against. A large fear for many Christians is not knowing what to say, and another one is feeling the pressure of changing someone's mind. But I have good news for you! You can be prepared to talk about salvation through Christ in a comfortable and clear way, and it's not your job to change a person's heart! That is the Holy Spirit's work. Our job is to share——regardless of the result. So let me ask you again...are you prepared? Learn more about how you can share your faith at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Jump on in! The water's fine! Have you heard that before? Maybe as a child on the edge of a diving board. It was probably pretty exhilarating when you finally jumped in! You know, it's the same way when you take a step of faith, and Amber did just that at a recent Equip America Event. Let's listen to what she had to say. “We often make sharing the Gospel more complicated than it has to be. And I really appreciate your guys' method on how to share it. It's so easy! All we have to do is have a little bit of faith…” Your Father in Heaven will help you as you take a step of faith to witness to others. Would you like to experience this? I have great news. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What's keeping you from sharing the Gospel? Are you afraid that people won't take the time to have a Gospel conversation with you? Listen to what Evan had to say immediately after participating in an Equip America Event in Fort Lauderdale Florida. “How ripe the harvest is, you know? And how we as the body of Christ need to step out and how the Holy Spirit is just going to empower our smallest act of obedience.” In Matthew 9:35, Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful," and two thousand years later, it remains true. The Lord will provide the opportunities if you'll ask for them! Would you like to experience this? I have great news. On May 16th, we are hosting an online Equip America. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Today is the final day of learning an easy-to-remember Gospel presentation using the five fingers of our hand. Picture the smallest finger on your hand - it's going to represent faith. Grace, Man, God and Christ, Faith. Faith is how we respond to the Gospel. Saving faith isn't simply head knowledge about Jesus. Many know about Jesus but have never experienced Him. It's also not just “temporary faith,” trusting in Jesus for health or safety. Saving faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life. The apostle Paul was asked, “What must I do to be saved?” He answered, “Believe – trust – in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…” If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This week we are learning a pattern using the fingers of our hand to share the Gospel, based on five main words – Grace, Man, God, Christ, and Faith. So, picture your ring finger and think of the Bridegroom because today's word is CHRIST. Jesus Christ is both God and Man. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and rose from the dead to prove He has purchased a place in Heaven for us. And this gift is received by faith. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This week, we're learning an easy-to-remember Gospel presentation using the five fingers of our hand. Today, we'll focus on God. Picture your third finger – our great finger, representing the greatest being in all the universe, which we know to be God. Of the many aspects of God's character, we'll emphasize two: First, God is MERCIFUL and doesn't want to punish us. The Bible tells us that “God is love.” But the same Bible teaches us that God is JUST and He cannot tolerate our sin. In Exodus 34:7, God says, 'By no means will I clear the guilty.' This presents a problem for us so tomorrow we'll turn our attention to CHRIST. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This week, we're learning an easy-to-remember Gospel presentation. We're using the five fingers of our hand to remember five Gospel words. Yesterday, we used our thumb to share GRACE. Today, we're using our second finger, our pointer finger to share about MAN – meaning the human race. The Bible clearly states that man is a sinner and cannot save himself. Romans 3:23, “All have sinned.” Sin is anything that falls short of God's perfect standard. An action, a word, a thought, an attitude… …and because we are sinners, we cannot save ourselves. But the Gospel is Good News! There is a way to be saved, but it's not man's way—it's God's way. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How would you like to learn an easy-to-remember, hard-to-forget Gospel presentation? During this week, using the five fingers of your hand, we're going to put one word to each finger. The five words are GRACE, MAN, GOD, CHRIST, and FAITH. Word number one is GRACE – picture your thumb pointing toward Heaven. Grace, heaven, is a gift. Romans 6:23 says, “The gift of God is eternal life.” And, like any gift, it is not earned or deserved. What a relief! Christianity alone proclaims that God's favor and entrance into heaven are absolutely free to us because of Jesus' sacrifice. So your thumb represents GRACE. If you would like to learn more about how to share your faith, join us on Saturday, May 16th for an online Equip America. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What does your day-to-day look like? Do you get on a bus to get to work or carpool? How many trips do you make during your day…to get lunch, to stop at a grocery store, or run an errand? Think about the people you cross paths with in just one day of your life. It reminds me of a story of a man who boarded a bus and met a man carrying a book on Buddhism. That was all he needed to open a spiritual discussion. And by the end of the bus ride, that man heard the Gospel and was extended an invitation to church. And while he didn't make a profession of faith in Christ right then on the bus, we know that God can and will use that kind of conversation in his life. Would you like be this kind of witness too? Well, join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside the Go Movement. For more information on how you can get started in sharing your faith, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Our busy lives operate in community groups, and I'm not talking about Sunday school classes or weekly life groups at church. These community groups are made up of parents, even grandparents gathered at a local youth baseball diamond, the club volleyball tournament, the high school soccer game. We have opportunities to be part of hundreds of different community groups, and it creates an incredible opportunity to talk to people about Jesus at every ball field, recital hall, and dance studio that you visit. It reminds me of Dr. Seuss' book titled, Oh The Places You'll Go…and oh what you'll accomplish for the kingdom of God when you're prepared to share your faith. We have tools and resources to help you get started at our website, ShareLife.Today. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside Go Movement. For more information on how you can get started in sharing your faith, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, I really believe with all of my heart that sharing the Gospel is the most important task that believers can do. And that's why I love to share my faith. Jesus used the most ordinary things to lead people to Himself. At a well, Jesus spoke of the Water of Life that quenches a deep thirst. To the hungry, He presented Himself as the Bread of Life. To the crippled and the sick, He was the One that could make people whole. We have opportunities all around us to share our faith; and with just a few simple tools, we can not only vocalize the Gospel but develop an alertness of mind and a compassion for the lost. When we look at the New Testament, we see ordinary people, just like you and me, who took it upon themselves to share the Gospel in their everyday lives. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside the Go Movement. For more information, visit our website at ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In a recent study done by Barna Research, half of Generation Z Christians that they surveyed said that they believe “letting your actions speak rather than using words to explain your faith” is evangelism. Fifty percent! Now today, we're going to tackle two important things that we need to know regarding words and actions when it comes to evangelism. First, you cannot share the Gospel with someone by some form of osmosis. Words must be shared. Second, you can't share the Gospel by a simple act of kindness alone. While that act is wonderful, it points no one to Christ. The Bible is clear that the Gospel must be spoken with love, with grace, with winsomeness. With a little discipleship, we can become great, verbal Gospel witnesses and share life today. Remember, it is the Gospel itself, not our clever answers or power of persuasion that is the “power of God unto salvation.” When you're sharing the Gospel, and you encounter an objection, the goal is to deal with the objection as simply and quickly as possible and then continue with the Gospel. Two keys to remember are first, to research their question and return with an answer: If you don't know the answer to the question, tell them, “That's a great question. Can I do some research and get back to you on that?” And then, continue with the Gospel before making an appointment for a future visit. If you're able to respond to the objection on the spot, well, do so quickly and again get back into sharing the Gospel. With a bit of knowledge, many common objections can be answered right on the spot. Join us for Go Training Day as we prepare to share our faith between Easter and Pentecost alongside the Go Movement. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. If you've seen someone leave a Gospel tract in a restaurant or hand one to a stranger walking by, have you ever thought, “I wonder if they'll read it?” I'd like to suggest that our first and best response should be to ask the Holy Spirit to compel the person to read it as He did with Philip. Philip was sitting on a park bench talking on his phone when someone walked by and handed him a Gospel tract. The Holy Spirit prompted Philip to open it. So he did, and he read the whole thing. Romans 3:23 jumped off the page, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Philip was convicted, and he repented. Now, it just so happened that he read EE's Do You Know For Sure? tract. Philip has since ordered them and started a tract ministry. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Should we still use tracts for evangelism? As I walked toward the meeting hall at a conference, I saw one of the security guards sitting and reading our “Do You Know For Sure” tract. I went over and asked him, “Do you understand what you're reading?” And he said, “How can I unless someone explains it to me?” Immediately, I thought of the story of the Ethiopian eunuch when he met Philip on the road to Gaza. And just like the Bible story, this security guard listened carefully to the Gospel and gave his heart to Jesus Christ right there. And recently, we held a workshop to teach Christians how to share their faith, which they went out and did that very day! A few days later, a man called to tell us that he had made a decision to put his trust in Jesus through a tract that a team left with him. Tracts can be a great tool for us use to share our faith. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, I've heard people say that tracts don't work anymore. They say that they're a thing of the past. Well, don't tell that to Doctor (Dr.) Varga. You see, more than a decade ago, a stranger handed her a tract – one of our tracts, to be precise. The tract prompted her curiosity. She read it, discovered the free gift of eternal life, and trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior! Well, years later, she purchases those tracts a thousand at a time in order to share, in her words, “the beautiful message which she received with as many people as she can.” You know, sometimes we're able to go through the tract with the person we're sharing with, while other times there's only enough time to say, “The message in this booklet changed my life, and I think it can change yours too.” Either way, why not give tract evangelism a try? For a free online Gospel tract you can use wherever you go, visit our website at ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Some people criticize tract evangelism, saying that it's cold, impersonal, or even outdated. But the truth is, it works. Dale and George worshipped at the same church. And following the service, Dale gave George a Gospel tract, thinking that George could use the tract to evangelize. George took it home with him, but instead of sharing it with a friend or a family member, he read it intently. It struck him like a lightning bolt; “I'm not saved!” He read it to his wife, and they knelt and made professions of faith in Christ. Today, George and his wife, Joan, are two bold witnesses for Christ. Dale intended for George to introduce the tract to a friend. Instead, God introduced George and Joan to Jesus. Tracts, in fact, work. So don't hesitate to use them! Don't have any on you? Well, for a free online Gospel tract you can use wherever you go as well as other tools and resources to help you share your faith, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, it's unthinkable. It's February 1975, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. You leave a Gospel tract with a young gas station attendant you come across while you're filling your tank. He takes the tract, shoves you, gives you an earful; and while you're stammering for words, he walks away. Now, if you're someone who likes to hand out Gospel tracts, you've probably never had an experience quite like that, but I'll bet you've still wondered if the people you give these tracts to actually read them or they toss them. Hey, we all have. In fact, some people will argue that Gospel tracts simply don't work. But let's get back to the young gas station attendant. His name is Jeff, and forty years later, he reaches out to us to find the person who gave him that Gospel tract. Through it, he accepted Jesus as His Savior, and his life was forever changed. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Psalm 36:5 tells us, “Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.” And it's so true—God is faithful. And I love telling other people about how faithful He's been to me. Now, it reminds me of the passage in Joshua 4, where the Israelites cross over the Jordan River. When God parted the waters, Joshua commanded one man from each one of the twelve tribes to pick up a stone from the bottom of the river. And on the other side, they piled up these stones up as a monument to God's faithfulness in preparing a way for them through the Jordan. As forgetful people, we need to do the same. We need to inscribe on our hearts the acts of faithfulness that God has done in our lives and boldly share them with others. And you know what? God will use them to open conversation. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What have you seen God do in your life? Now, the truth is, we all have hundreds of what we like to call “God stories.” These are times you've experienced God moving in your life, like a change that He's brought about, an answered prayer, a restored relationship, or the moment you put your saving faith in Jesus. Now when sharing one of your “God stories” with another person, make the contrast for them. Start with what life was like before the change or before God stepped in. And then, share what God did. End your testimony with something about the confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. An example would be something like, “The greatest thing of all of this is that I know for sure that if I died today, I'm going to go to Heaven.” This leads very naturally to asking them questions about their own spiritual life and sharing the Gospel with them! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In a culture that combats finding what is true and what's a lie, people now more than ever are looking for genuine, authentic relationships. They want to hear the truth. When it comes to sharing our testimonies, it's important to remember to be genuine and vulnerable when telling others our story. God may have you sharing with a Divine Appointment—a person that He has drawn to you to hear your story for a purpose. It could be the very same struggles or hurts that you've faced they're facing now. It could be the very things God has redeemed in your life they're dealing with in their own life. So make sure to ask the Holy Spirit to guide your conversation about what you should share, and be open and truthful with what God has done in your life. Not sure how to share your testimony? Well, visit whatsmystory.org to use our free online testimony builder. You can learn more at our website ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, I meet a lot of Christians who tell me that their story doesn't matter. Now, maybe that's you! Have you ever questioned the significance of your testimony or thought no one would be interested in hearing it? Well, allow me to share a profound truth from Revelation 12:11 with you: “And they overcame [the enemy] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” You see, your testimony is not just a story but a powerful tool in the hands of God. When Jesus healed the man filled with demons in the Gadarenes, He said, “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he has had compassion on you.” We are called to do the same! Often, when people hear about Jesus changing our lives, it leads to an opportunity to share the Gospel. Visit whatsmystory.org to use our free online testimony builder. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How do we make the connection? Well, when it comes to sharing the most important part of our lives, our relationship with Jesus, how do we naturally and lovingly start a conversation? Well, think about what you like to talk about with your friends. You want to hear about their life! And this is true about your coworkers, your friends, and your family—they want to know about your life, too. You might be surprised at how many of them would love to hear your story about how Jesus has changed your life. And this is why our testimonies are so powerful! God has crafted the human heart to connect with others through sharing experiences. Jesus connected with people the same way—through hearing their stories and then sharing with them about Who He is—the Savior who has come to redeem them. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Can you think of a time when you put your foot in your mouth? I mean, everyone can recall a moment they wanted to blend in with the wall behind them because of something they said. We're all human—it happens! But we don't want that to happen when we share the Gospel. So today, I'd like to share an icebreaker that may be the easiest way to start a spiritual conversation! So one of the easiest ways to start is by bringing up something you've done recently at church. Sharing with somebody how much you love your church and asking them whether or not they go to church is really simple. And it's an easy follow-up then to say, "Church is important to me because that's where I learned about how I can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Can I tell you about how that's changed my life?" Now, you're going be surprised by how many times you will hear "yes!" People genuinely want to know what's important to us. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. A lot of us have fears when it comes to sharing our faith. For many, it's the thought of saying the wrong thing. If we stumble over our words or something doesn't come out exactly the way we want it, we think that God won't use it. Well, not at all! The Bible shows us time and time again that God can use anyone, even someone who stutters, like Moses, or a long-winded preacher, like Paul! And one of the best ways to break the ice into a spiritual conversation is to simply ask. Asking someone if they've given much thought to spiritual matters, or if they're sure they're going to Heaven one day might be bold, but it gives the other person a chance to really consider their heart condition. Be prayerful about witnessing and trust the Lord to give you the words to speak. He will be faithful to do it! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. One of the hardest things that we can ever face in life is a close encounter with death. Whether it is ourself or the loss of a loved one, these are life-changing and difficult times. But God can use these very moments to draw us or others to Himself. This is exactly what happened in Barry's life. In college, he met a girl that he admired very much and always wished to meet. Well one day, she was killed in a car accident. Barry was crushed and went to the school's chapel to pray. In that moment, he knew there was something missing in his life but didn't know what it was. Then soon after, he heard the good news of the Gospel, and he put His trust in Christ. Now, he knows for certain that he has eternal life. And that's changed everything. Sharing a testimony like this is a great way start a Gospel conversation with family and friends about the eternal hope found in Jesus. For more ways to share, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Let me ask you a question...on a scale from one to ten, how fulfilling would you say your life is? What makes it that number? And would having more of a relationship with God make that number go up or down? These are some really impactful questions we can use when talking with our family and friends about God. They're opportunities for them to share about their lives and their thoughts on having a relationship with Christ. I have to tell you...I've asked these questions a lot. And most of the time, people share with me that they think having more of a relationship with God would actually make their life more fulfilled. And I get to tell them that Jesus Himself said that in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." The evidence is in my very own life! That certainly happened to me. What a great way to start sharing the Gospel. For more ways that you can start conversation with the Gospel, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever been unsure on how to start sharing the Gospel? Maybe you are ready to talk about spiritual things with the people in your life, but you're just not sure how to bring it up. Well this week, I'd like to share with you some “springboards” that can help you start a spiritual conversation. One of the best ways to begin is by telling our friends how having a relationship with Christ has changed you for the better. We call these “God stories.” And the more we walk with Christ, the more we have these we have to share! Start by telling them something you have seen God do in your life, like a change He's brought about, an answered prayer, or even a restored relationship. End your God story with a statement of confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. And this will open the door to sharing more! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me.” What a beautiful way George Bennard described the cross of Christ in this famous hymn. This, this is the Good News of the Gospel! In the horrible, painful image of our crucified Savior, there is grace and mercy that we don't deserve—complete forgiveness for all of our wrongs. When we place our trust in Jesus, He takes our sins on Himself and gives us His spotless, perfect life. When God sees us, He sees righteousness. O what a Savior, that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died so that we might be forgiven. And here in a few days, we celebrate that Jesus conquered the grave and stands as our King who triumphs over sin and death. Let's share with others! For help, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. During the very first Easter Week, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples the night before He was crucified. On this Passover night, He sat with His disciples and gave them a clear picture of what He was about to do through their last meal together. He “took bread, and gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to [His disciples], saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant of my blood, which is poured out for you.'” We take communion as Christians in remembrance of what Jesus has done through His death and resurrection. The bread represents His body broken, and the wine depicts His blood spilled for the forgiveness of sins. He did it out of love for us! And all we must do to receive forgiveness is to place our trust in Jesus alone. Learn how to share this Good News with others at our website: ShareLife.Today.
