Share Life Today, in stories from real-life encounters, challenges lay people to learn to share the Gospel every day in an ordinary conversation, to know how to ask great questions, and to testify to the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Psalm 36:5 tells us, “Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.” And it's so true—God is faithful. And I love telling other people about how faithful He's been to me. Now, it reminds me of the passage in Joshua 4, where the Israelites cross over the Jordan River. When God parted the waters, Joshua commanded one man from each one of the twelve tribes to pick up a stone from the bottom of the river. And on the other side, they piled up these stones up as a monument to God's faithfulness in preparing a way for them through the Jordan. As forgetful people, we need to do the same. We need to inscribe on our hearts the acts of faithfulness that God has done in our lives and boldly share them with others. And you know what? God will use them to open conversation. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What have you seen God do in your life? Now, the truth is, we all have hundreds of what we like to call “God stories.” These are times you've experienced God moving in your life, like a change that He's brought about, an answered prayer, a restored relationship, or the moment you put your saving faith in Jesus. Now when sharing one of your “God stories” with another person, make the contrast for them. Start with what life was like before the change or before God stepped in. And then, share what God did. End your testimony with something about the confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. An example would be something like, “The greatest thing of all of this is that I know for sure that if I died today, I'm going to go to Heaven.” This leads very naturally to asking them questions about their own spiritual life and sharing the Gospel with them! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In a culture that combats finding what is true and what's a lie, people now more than ever are looking for genuine, authentic relationships. They want to hear the truth. When it comes to sharing our testimonies, it's important to remember to be genuine and vulnerable when telling others our story. God may have you sharing with a Divine Appointment—a person that He has drawn to you to hear your story for a purpose. It could be the very same struggles or hurts that you've faced they're facing now. It could be the very things God has redeemed in your life they're dealing with in their own life. So make sure to ask the Holy Spirit to guide your conversation about what you should share, and be open and truthful with what God has done in your life. Not sure how to share your testimony? Well, visit whatsmystory.org to use our free online testimony builder. You can learn more at our website ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, I meet a lot of Christians who tell me that their story doesn't matter. Now, maybe that's you! Have you ever questioned the significance of your testimony or thought no one would be interested in hearing it? Well, allow me to share a profound truth from Revelation 12:11 with you: “And they overcame [the enemy] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” You see, your testimony is not just a story but a powerful tool in the hands of God. When Jesus healed the man filled with demons in the Gadarenes, He said, “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how he has had compassion on you.” We are called to do the same! Often, when people hear about Jesus changing our lives, it leads to an opportunity to share the Gospel. Visit whatsmystory.org to use our free online testimony builder. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How do we make the connection? Well, when it comes to sharing the most important part of our lives, our relationship with Jesus, how do we naturally and lovingly start a conversation? Well, think about what you like to talk about with your friends. You want to hear about their life! And this is true about your coworkers, your friends, and your family—they want to know about your life, too. You might be surprised at how many of them would love to hear your story about how Jesus has changed your life. And this is why our testimonies are so powerful! God has crafted the human heart to connect with others through sharing experiences. Jesus connected with people the same way—through hearing their stories and then sharing with them about Who He is—the Savior who has come to redeem them. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Can you think of a time when you put your foot in your mouth? I mean, everyone can recall a moment they wanted to blend in with the wall behind them because of something they said. We're all human—it happens! But we don't want that to happen when we share the Gospel. So today, I'd like to share an icebreaker that may be the easiest way to start a spiritual conversation! So one of the easiest ways to start is by bringing up something you've done recently at church. Sharing with somebody how much you love your church and asking them whether or not they go to church is really simple. And it's an easy follow-up then to say, "Church is important to me because that's where I learned about how I can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Can I tell you about how that's changed my life?" Now, you're going be surprised by how many times you will hear "yes!" People genuinely want to know what's important to us. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. A lot of us have fears when it comes to sharing our faith. For many, it's the thought of saying the wrong thing. If we stumble over our words or something doesn't come out exactly the way we want it, we think that God won't use it. Well, not at all! The Bible shows us time and time again that God can use anyone, even someone who stutters, like Moses, or a long-winded preacher, like Paul! And one of the best ways to break the ice into a spiritual conversation is to simply ask. Asking someone if they've given much thought to spiritual matters, or if they're sure they're going to Heaven one day might be bold, but it gives the other person a chance to really consider their heart condition. Be prayerful about witnessing and trust the Lord to give you the words to speak. He will be faithful to do it! For more tips and resources on how you can be bold in sharing your faith, visit ShareLife.Today. That's ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. One of the hardest things that we can ever face in life is a close encounter with death. Whether it is ourself or the loss of a loved one, these are life-changing and difficult times. But God can use these very moments to draw us or others to Himself. This is exactly what happened in Barry's life. In college, he met a girl that he admired very much and always wished to meet. Well one day, she was killed in a car accident. Barry was crushed and went to the school's chapel to pray. In that moment, he knew there was something missing in his life but didn't know what it was. Then soon after, he heard the good news of the Gospel, and he put His trust in Christ. Now, he knows for certain that he has eternal life. And that's changed everything. Sharing a testimony like this is a great way start a Gospel conversation with family and friends about the eternal hope found in Jesus. For more ways to share, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Let me ask you a question...on a scale from one to ten, how fulfilling would you say your life is? What makes it that number? And would having more of a relationship with God make that number go up or down? These are some really impactful questions we can use when talking with our family and friends about God. They're opportunities for them to share about their lives and their thoughts on having a relationship with Christ. I have to tell you...I've asked these questions a lot. And most of the time, people share with me that they think having more of a relationship with God would actually make their life more fulfilled. And I get to tell them that Jesus Himself said that in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." The evidence is in my very own life! That certainly happened to me. What a great way to start sharing the Gospel. For more ways that you can start conversation with the Gospel, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever been unsure on how to start sharing the Gospel? Maybe you are ready to talk about spiritual things with the people in your life, but you're just not sure how to bring it up. Well this week, I'd like to share with you some “springboards” that can help you start a spiritual conversation. One of the best ways to begin is by telling our friends how having a relationship with Christ has changed you for the better. We call these “God stories.” And the more we walk with Christ, the more we have these we have to share! Start by telling them something you have seen God do in your life, like a change He's brought about, an answered prayer, or even a restored relationship. End your God story with a statement of confidence that you have concerning Heaven and eternal life. And this will open the door to sharing more! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me.” What a beautiful way George Bennard described the cross of Christ in this famous hymn. This, this is the Good News of the Gospel! In the horrible, painful image of our crucified Savior, there is grace and mercy that we don't deserve—complete forgiveness for all of our wrongs. When we place our trust in Jesus, He takes our sins on Himself and gives us His spotless, perfect life. When God sees us, He sees righteousness. O what a Savior, that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died so that we might be forgiven. And here in a few days, we celebrate that Jesus conquered the grave and stands as our King who triumphs over sin and death. Let's share with others! For help, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. During the very first Easter Week, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples the night before He was crucified. On this Passover night, He sat with His disciples and gave them a clear picture of what He was about to do through their last meal together. He “took bread, and gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to [His disciples], saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant of my blood, which is poured out for you.'” We take communion as Christians in remembrance of what Jesus has done through His death and resurrection. The bread represents His body broken, and the wine depicts His blood spilled for the forgiveness of sins. He did it out of love for us! And all we must do to receive forgiveness is to place our trust in Jesus alone. Learn how to share this Good News with others at our website: ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue walking through Easter together, today I want to look ahead to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. In the Gospels, we see Jesus pray through the night asking God to take the cup of what was to happen from Him. If you or I stood in His shoes—facing the wrath of Almighty God for the sins of the world—we probably would have refused it. But even though Jesus asked His Father, His will was set. He was committed to the cross. But it wasn't easy for Jesus. He felt such sorrow and agony that He told James and John, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death.” Jesus knew He would not only die but take the judgment, anger, wrath, and separation from God that we deserved. But He did it willingly. And He did it for us. He died so that all who put their trust in Him alone would be blameless before Almighty God. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. When Jesus came to Jerusalem that first Easter week, He didn't just come to celebrate the Passover…He came to fulfill it! The very first Passover occurred when Moses was trying to free the Israelite slaves from Egypt. Pharaoh had seen God's might and will through nine plagues that had come upon his nation. But Pharaoh, after making false promises, would go back on his word; and God would warn him again. The tenth plague killed every firstborn son except for the ones that had the blood of a lamb without blemish on their door frame. And that blood was the substitute for their sins. And for hundreds of years before, the blood of a spotless lamb was the only temporary substitution for sins. But Jesus…He came to shed the perfect, final, atoning blood on the cross. And all who put their trust in Him alone, God counts as righteous by His substitution. For more about the Gospel and how to share it, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What a meaningful week we've just started! And walking through Easter with your family, friends, and even strangers can be a wonderful way to share the Gospel with them. Because truly, the Good News of the Gospel happened that very first Easter week and started with Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey. At first glance, that may not seem like much…but truly, this was an amazing and powerful act. Jesus' entry on a donkey claimed His rightful place as their Messiah—the One who came to save His people from their sins. Every Jew there would have known Zechariah's prophecy of the King and the Messiah coming—triumphant and victorious!—on a donkey colt. And that's why they shouted “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” King Jesus came to be the sacrifice for sinful humans. And all who place their trust in Him alone, “He gives the right to become children of God.” For more, visit our website at ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Psalm 73 says it well, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Through the deep gratitude that we have for our Savior, we use the strength He gives us to serve others. And it's a delight to His heart when we do. Jesus said in Matthew twenty-five that if we help the less fortunate…”whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” As children of God, our hearts should be aligned with God's heart. And God tells us God is patiently waiting so as many as would call on His name would have a chance to do so. Today is the day we should serve others and tell them the Greatest News: that Jesus loves them and has died on the cross to take on the penalty for their sins. For all who put their trust in Him and Him alone, He gives them the right to become children of God. For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. I don't know about you; but sometimes it seems like we could use some armor. Between the temperature of our culture and the crazy things that we see on the news, some protection would be welcome! Ephesians 6 tells us that we should “put on the whole armor of God, that [we] may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but…against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” God protects us even against things that our eyes cannot see. He has already defeated the enemy through Jesus' death and resurrection! We celebrate because Jesus is the victor. He's crushed the head of the enemy. But while we are here on earth sharing the Good News of what He has done with others, we need to put on the armor of God and stand strong. And we'd love to help! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Paul gives a blessing to Timothy in 2nd Timothy 2:1 that he would “be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” Now, I'd like to pray that same blessing over you today! As you go about your daily tasks, whether good or bad experiences come your way, I pray you'll be strengthened and held by the grace that is in Christ. You know, grace is one of the utmost attributes of love. It means we receive something that we don't deserve! And one of the grandest works of God's grace displayed is that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. When we place our faith in Him, we're strengthened not in our own might but in His. Ask God today that He would not only strengthen you but also give you the opportunity to share the Good News of His grace with others. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How do we live with strength? Do you know that when you become a child of God through placing your faith in Jesus alone, you receive the strength of Almighty God? We see a picture of this in one of my favorite Psalms: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” He is our bulwark—or fortress, in other words—that never fails. And when we place our worries and anxieties in His strong hands, He holds us and gives us peace. Paul tells us in Romans 4 that for Abraham, one of the great fathers of our faith, “no unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith…” And this is what happens when we rely on God—we grow strong. Do you know anyone who needs this strength and security in their life? Well, be praying and looking for opportunities to share the Gospel with them! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series “The Real Real,” let me ask you today…what do you think true strength is? I think oftentimes, strength is attributed to the physically strong. We see people join the special forces training in the military and go through tasks that make even the strongest physically buckle. But you know, that's not what real strength is. In fact, it's something that isn't dependent on how weak or strong we are physically. Real strength is God who can create the universe with the sound of His voice. No human strength can match His glorious might. And He promises to be our strength and fight our battles for us. When we're His children who have placed our trust in Jesus and Him alone—His work on the cross—we have a Father who is our shelter and our might. Let's not hold back from sharing with others how they can find their rest and their strength in Jesus as well. For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Have you heard this beautiful chapter before? In Psalm 23, we see a picture of what resting in the Lord looks like. He “makes [us] lie down in green pastures; He leads us by quiet waters; He restores [our] souls.” This peace happens as a by-product of walking with God. From the very first moment we are born again through placing our trust in Jesus alone, we're on an incredible journey of God restoring us through the righteousness of His Son. He grows us in the Fruit of the Spirit, such as peace and joy, as well as gives us Spiritual gifts we can use in service to Him. “He leads [us] on paths of righteousness for His name's sake.” And one of the ways that we can glorify His name is by sharing the Gospel with others. We get the privilege of sharing the Gospel of peace with others. Don't know how to start? We'd love to help. Visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life…” You see, God is holy and perfect. In fact, the book of Habakkuk says that “His eyes are too pure to look upon evil; He can't tolerate wrong.” And according to Matthew, the standard we all must meet is to “be perfect, as our Heavenly Father is perfect.” You see, we have a big problem. And there is a payment due or a wage for our wrongdoings…and that is death. But praise be to God! He had a plan to redeem us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and die on the cross in our place. And all who believe in Him, “He gives the right to become children of God.” We can sing, “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.” Learn how to share this Good News with others by visiting our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you heard of the Ten Commandments? Well, you can read this famous passage in Exodus 20. A few of them are to have no other gods before the one, true God, to not take the Lord's name in vain, to keep the Sabbath day, to not murder, to not steal, and to not lie. And in modern times, sometimes these laws of God are looked down upon. But truly, they serve an incredible purpose. Not only do they clearly show us what is right and wrong, but it also gives us a view to our own hearts. Jesus taught that if we hate someone, it's the same as murder; if we think lustful thoughts, it's the same as adultery. The law of God shows us that we need a Savior to forgive us of our sins. And praise be to God—a sinless Savior came for us. His name is Jesus. For all who put their trust in Him, they are declared righteous before Almighty God. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever thought, "I just don't know if I can make it into Heaven?" Well, the truth is, you can't! You absolutely cannot make it into Heaven by relying on yourself and your good works. None of us will ever be good enough to get into Heaven. Now if that sounds like really bad news to you, it's actually quite the opposite. You see, if none of us can make it into Heaven by our own righteousness, there has to be another way that does not rely on what we do. Here's the good news: by accepting God's free gift of grace by placing your faith in Jesus, you CAN get to Heaven. The only way to get into Heaven is by relying on the righteousness of Jesus instead of your own good deeds. What a relief! You just need to trust in Jesus alone. For more about the free gift of eternal life, visit us online at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series, “The Real Real,” this week, I want to ask you…what do you think real righteousness is? Well, in our culture, many think and believe that right and wrong is a matter of perspective, but the Bible says something very different. God tells us there is a clear distinction between right and wrong. And we know it in our heart of hearts. In Jeremiah 31, God tells us, “I will put my laws on their hearts, and I will write them in their minds.” And He truly has. It's called our conscience. We know when we fall short and commit wrong. The true miracle is that our perfect, holy, righteous God offers us forgiveness of our wrongs through trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. And then, He gives us a new heart of faith and obedience. We're righteous through Jesus. Who can you share this Good News with today? Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you ever fear what others might think of you? Does it impact your decisions or what you talk about? You know, Hebrews 13:6 says, “We can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?'” Jesus told us Himself before He ascended into heaven that He will be with us always, even to the end of the age. And we can take Him at His Word. There is no competition— the fear of what others may say or do to us should pale in comparison to the reverential fear and awe that we have for our Savior and Lord. Let our anthem be the same as Paul's: to live is Christ; to die is gain. You know, there's too little time that we have here on this earth not to share the Gospel with others! So the question is: will we? Or will we give in to our fears? For resources to help you in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What's your biggest fear? For some, it's spiders, or the dark, or falling from a high place. But for Christians, there is a great fear in sharing our faith. For some, they just don't know where to start. Others are afraid of facing difficult questions or simply rejection. You know, we've all been there; and unfortunately, many believers never move beyond that fear. The problem is, Satan knows this and often uses fear to keep us from sharing the Gospel. But let me encourage you to take that step in faith. Ask God to give you courage. Pray that He will open a door for you to share His love with another person. God loves to prepare people's hearts to hear the Good News, and He is waiting for people willing to step out in faith and speak for Him. God uses ordinary people just like you and me to point others to Christ. So let's put our fears aside, and let's learn how to share! For resources on how you can do that, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The night the tree fell on her house, June was afraid; but her greatest fear was that she would not be good enough to get into Heaven. When Bill and a volunteer clean-up crew showed up at June's house, she was overjoyed. She told Bill how she had taken refuge in the bedroom as she heard the tree crashing on the roof. Sensing the opportunity, Bill asked her if she knew for certain that she'd be with God in Heaven someday. Well, her answer was, “No.” She was afraid she wasn't good enough to get there. And, you know, she's right. None of us are. Bill said, “As I shared the sufficiency of Christ's death and resurrection that paid for her sin, June began to weep openly. God was moving as only He can.” That afternoon, June prayed and asked Jesus Christ to be her Savior and Lord! You know, we never know when the opportunity to share Christ will happen, but it will. Are you prepared? Visit us today at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What's keeping you from sharing the Gospel? Are you afraid that people won't take the time to have a Gospel conversation with you? Well, one of the neat things I've gotten to see over the years is what we at EE call “Divine Appointments.” The Holy Spirit is already drawing people to Himself, and when we step out in faith to share the Gospel, we get to be part of it. And people are open. In fact, they are looking for hope! And God promises He'll be with us. In Matthew 9:35, Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful", and two thousand years later, it remains true. There are people around us every day that God has specifically placed so that we can share with them. And God'll take our fears and turn them around for His glory. So don't let your fears keep you from witnessing to others, the Lord will provide the opportunities if you'll only ask! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series called “The Real Real,” let me ask you…what do you think a real fear of God is? Well for many, I think it may be misunderstood as fearing a vengeful God who will punish them for any toe that they place out of line. But the Bible tells us something different. In fact, the book of Proverbs describes the fear of the Lord as “the beginning of knowledge.” Now, why would that be? Well, Scripture describes our amazing Heavenly Father as ever-present in times of trouble, patient so that all who would turn to Him in faith have a chance to do so, and a gentle, loving Shepherd who seeks after the lost. A fear of the Lord is a reverence for Who He is—our perfect, majestic, omnipotent God. And in our reverence, we can celebrate knowing that He has made a way for us to have a relationship with Him through Jesus. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that we're more likely to share our faith with others when we're feeling encouraged in our own lives. So, I'd like to share a dose of spiritual encouragement from the Bible that centers on the phrase “fix your eyes.” Where? And on Whom? Well, the twelfth chapter of Hebrews gives this spiritual advice: “Fix your eyes on Jesus.” Fixing our eyes on Jesus encourages us because we can see our problems and struggles from His perspective. It also helps us to see people around us in a different light. They're not simply there to help us or to hinder us. God has placed them in our lives so that we might influence them spiritually by being a friend, an encourager, or a Gospel witness. So, as you “fix your eyes on Jesus” today, be encouraged and tell someone about the Giver of your encouragement. For resources to help you share your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever started a conversation with someone, and the person turned away or looked at their watch? We've all probably experienced that at some point and maybe we've even been the one who's bored wishing we were somewhere else. When sharing the Gospel, it's important that we use our eyes to listen to the other person and how they are responding to what you're saying. We don't want to just talk at someone. It's easy for us to be sharing this wonderful news and then suddenly realize that we've been the one doing ALL the talking. So, remember to include your friend in the conversation by asking questions. Then, listen carefully as they talk so we can respond to their statements. For example, before you talk to your friend about Jesus, ask them the question, “Who would you say Jesus is?” Their answer will be something that you can build upon. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you care about the lost? The truth is for many of us, we don't; or at least not like we should. We would never say it, but our priorities and lives reveal it. We make very little time in our schedules to interact with others, especially those who don't know Jesus. We may even have stopped praying for our lost friends and coworkers entirely! There could be a few reasons...we have gotten far too busy, we have forgotten what it is like to live without the hope of Christ, or we have lost the vision of God's heart for the lost. Well regardless of the reason, this isn't the end. Let's seek forgiveness from Christ for our apathy and push forward—asking God to give us eyes to see people like He does. And when we do, let's be ready to share with them the hope found only in Jesus. For more on how you can share your faith, visit sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you want to really be stretched in your faith? Ask God to give you His eyes for other people. And He'll answer that prayer and begin to break your heart for what breaks His. And there is nothing dearer to Christ's heart than people. He created each of us uniquely and for a purpose! Once you start looking, you'll begin to see this for yourself and value others highly. You'll desire for them to have the peace, love, and joy that can only be found in Christ; and then you'll make the effort to start spiritual conversations and look for opportunities to share the Gospel with them. So take the challenge this week! Think of each person you pass by as a neighbor. If you make a conscious effort to really see people as they pass by, you will begin to really care and you will want to witness more! Not sure where to start? We would love to help. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series, “The Real Real,” today, I want to ask the question…what is real sight? Jesus taught Nicodemus in John chapter three that “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” When we place our trust in Jesus and Him alone, He gives us sight to see His kingdom advancing here on earth. And Jesus further told His disciples after His death and resurrection that He was ascending back to the Father and sending the Holy Spirit to guide and to help us. He will lead and assist us as we share our faith, read the Word, and pray to our Savior and Lord. Another incredible gift the Holy Spirit will give us if we ask Him is His heart and eyes to see and love people as God sees and loves them. This week, ask the Holy Spirit to give you real sight and opportunities to tell others about Jesus. For resources to help you get started, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Many of us remember singing these words, perhaps as little children in Sunday School: “This little light of mine; I'm gonna let it shine. Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine.” Those simple lyrics carry a powerful Biblical truth. In Isaiah 60:1, God calls His people to action, saying, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.” That light is Jesus Christ. He stepped into a dark world, took our sin upon Himself on the cross so we could be forgiven and eternal life could be ours. When we place our faith in Him, His light shines in us, not to be hidden, but to be shared. The world around us is filled with people searching for hope, peace, and truth. God calls us not to shine the light of Christ through telling others about Him. Let's not keep it to ourselves—let's share the Gospel! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The Bible ends with a powerful picture of hope. In Revelation 21:23, we're told that in the new heaven and new earth, there will be no need for the sun or the moon, because the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. For those who trust in Jesus Christ, this is our future. A perfect place where sin, suffering, and death no longer exist, and where we will live in the presence of God forever. This hope is possible because Jesus stepped into the darkness of our world, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again in victory. Darkness did not win. Jesus did. But until that day, God calls us to live as people of the light that share the hope of the Gospel with others. Let's tell those around us about Who Jesus is and what He has done for them! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The same God who spoke light into existence is still at work today. Second Corinthians 4:6 tells us that God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” now shines in our hearts through Jesus Christ. That light changes everything. When we trust in Christ, God opens our eyes, forgives our sin, and fills us with hope that lasts beyond this life. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for us turned spiritual darkness into living light. And for all those who place their trust in Jesus, He gives the gift of eternal life. But God never intended us to the Light of the World to ourselves. He shines through us so others can see the truth of the Gospel. Ask God to use your story to point someone to Christ. And then, be ready to share it and the Gospel with them. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The Bible tells us in Colossians 1:13 that God “rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son.” That's not just poetic language. It's a rescue story. Through Jesus Christ, we are delivered from darkness and brought into the light of God's kingdom. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and secured our freedom. Darkness no longer has hold over us that have placed our trust in Jesus and Him alone. But there are many who don't yet the hope and forgiveness that Jesus offers. And God calls us to share this Good News with others who need the very Light of life that we have found. Today, thank God for what He has done in your life, and pray for opportunities to tell others about Jesus and what He has done. And when God gives you those divine appointments, be prepared to share the Gospel with them! For help in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Many people are searching for direction, unsure which way to go. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus doesn't just point us to light. He is the light. Through His death on the cross for our sins, He made a way for us to step out of darkness and into new life. Following Christ doesn't remove every challenge, but it gives us a sure guide and an eternal promise. When we place our trust in Him and Him alone, we can rest securely in this promise from Proverbs: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Today, let's choose to trust and follow Jesus and look for opportunities to share the light of the Gospel with those around us. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Revelation 12:11 says that we will defeat the enemy by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” That kind of power shouldn't be hidden—your story should be shared boldly! Jesus will use it as you tell of His goodness and love to those around you. This is exactly what's happening in Sharon's life. Before she had a relationship with Jesus, her existence was dark. She always felt isolated and alone. Sharon looked to friendships to find fulfillment, but nothing ever stuck as she never made any new, long-lasting relationships. But then, she received the free gift of eternal life, and now she knows she is never alone! Sharon feels the peace and love that comes from Jesus living in her heart, and she has found a genuine and lasting community in her church. And she just can't keep it to herself! Her friends have heard it because she shared it with them. Find out how you can do the same at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. To begin to love your neighbor as yourself, you need to ask something very important: what love is! The Bible tells us, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." That kind of true love is unconditional, sacrificial, full of grace and forgiveness, and makes an effort to bridge the gap. In Christ's case, His goal was to both show us what true love is as well as to reconcile us to God. He did it by dying a gruesome death on the cross for our sins He didn't deserve it nor needed to do it for Himself, but His great love for us kept him nailed to that cross. He died and rose again, and is now in Heaven offering this free gift of eternal life for all who would believe. So let's follow in our Lord's footsteps. And let's unconditionally love those around us by sharing Jesus' love with them. For more, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. When Jesus shared the parable of the Prodigal Son, He told us of a strained relationship between a kind Father and his wayward son. Ultimately, the Father welcomed his son back with open arms! Romans 5:10 says “For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!” You see, that's the Father's great love. He loved us so much, that He sent His one and only Son from Heaven to die on a cross in our place. We were reconciled through Jesus. So, what can we do to love others as God has loved us? Well, where were you in life when you first came to Christ? Do you know anyone else in that same place who needs to hear about His great love? Ask God to give you opportunities to share the Gospel of reconciliation and love! Want to know more about sharing your faith? Well, visit us at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Here's a question: what are you known for? Jesus says in John 13:35, "By this all people will know that you're my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Over and over again, the Bible urges us to love one another. After all, it is the Father's love that compelled Him to make a way for us to be with Him forever in Heaven! I know a guy named Vince who had a heart procedure. Now, can you believe that DURING the procedure he shared the Gospel with the doctors and nurses in the operating room? I mean, talk about a heart for Jesus! What do you think Vince is known for? Well, I'm sure everyone in that operating room can attest to the fact that Vince truly loves Jesus! What a testimony! Now, I challenge you to look for opportunities where you can show your love for others by sharing your faith. Visit sharelife.today for tips and resources to help you share your faith. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What is real love? Now, that's the question that all of humanity has wrestled with. You see, we all need love. In fact, we're made for it! When God created man and woman, He did so in His own image, and He declared it good. And the Bible tells us over and over about the Father's love for us. In fact, there's a hymn you may have heard before that says, “How deep the Father's love for us; how vast beyond all measure…that He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure.” Jesus told his disciples in John 15 that “greater love hath no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” Did you know that Jesus—who's God Himself—not only came to earth, but He died on the cross for our sins in our place? You see, greater love hath no one than this. And Jesus charged us to share His love with others. Learn more about how you can do just that at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. There are five primary means of growth to help your spiritual walk. Bible. Prayer. Worship. Fellowship; and finally, witness. I was recently in the same room with a brand-new grandmother. You'll never guess what she wanted to talk about…along, of course, with copious pictures. I was recently in the same room with a sports fan and you'll never guess what he wanted to talk about! My point is that we talk about the things which are important to us. So, you could conclude that some Christians don't talk about Jesus because He's not very important to them. As you become more and more involved in the first four means of growth – Bible, Prayer, Worship and Fellowship – Jesus Christ will become more and more important in your life. You'll naturally want to talk about Him. Witnessing is simply telling others about Jesus and why the Bible says Jesus needs to be important to them. For tips and tools to help you become a better witness, visit sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Did you realize there are five different means to help you grow spiritually? I want to talk about fellowship today. How do you define it? Well, you know, I heard someone say, “two or more fellows in the same ship.” You know, when I first heard it, I thought it a bit corny. But…it does get to the heart of the matter of spiritual fellowship. Here, I think, is the main point. Through calm seas or crashing waves, these people are in the same ship together. They need each other…depend on each other…encourage each other …challenge…support each other. Christian fellowship is all of these plus praying for one another, caring for one another and developing friendships with one another. Perhaps this is behind the promise of the Gospel that where two or three believers are gathered together, Jesus is in their midst. Visit share life dot today for more tips and resources to help you share the Gospel and grow in your faith. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Worship - it is easier to describe than define. There are five means of growth that help us growth spiritually. Bible…Prayer…Worship…Fellowship.…Witness. Today, I want to talk about what it means to worship. To worship God is to honor, reverence and adore Him - giving Him the supreme place in our lives. Worship deepens our relationship with our Lord. Let me emphasize two important avenues of worship. Personal, private worship is a daily investment of time that pays an amazing dividend. With your Bible and your prayer list, this one-on-one encounter with Jesus is rich and rewarding. It's the place where His grace and strength comes into our lives every day. Corporate worship is a gathering together of God's people at church to engage in prayer, music and teaching of God's Word. Taken together, these two provide for a necessity of spiritual growth. To help you in your spiritual walk with the Lord, we have plenty of resources online at sharelife.today. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This week on Share Life Today we are looking at how we can grow deeper spiritually. There are five means to spiritual growth – so five words – Bible, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, Witness. I want to focus on the significance of prayer right now. Prayer is one of the greatest privileges of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible is God speaking to us, but prayer is us speaking to God. The simple ACTS acrostic provides a useful guideline: Adoration – praising God for who He is. Confession – admitting our sin and receiving His forgiveness. Thanksgiving – thanking God for all that He does. And supplication – bringing our needs and requests to Him in simple faith. A – C – T – S. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. If we'll do that, we'll be more aware of our great need for the Lord at all times. For more practical tips on becoming an active witness and resources to help you do that, visit sharelife.today. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you tried to read any product labels recently? Talk about complicated! You may have noticed that the more advancement we make in life, the more complicated things become? Unfortunately, the same complicated approach is infiltrating our spiritual lives too. So, it's time to get back to the basics. The product label on the Spiritual Growth package contains five words: Bible, Prayer, Worship Fellowship, Witness. First, we want to focus on the Word of God – the Bible - The place to begin is your commitment to read the Bible. The Bible describes itself as “God-breathed, useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." It's indispensable for our growth in the Lord. Start in the Gospel of John. Read a chapter a day. Read more if you want to, but just get in the habit. Move next to Acts. Then keep going from there. We would count it a privilege to become your Partner in Growing. For more means of growth, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Sometimes, we can get discouraged by the darkness that we see around us. Even turning on the news can cause us to lose hope. But let me share with you today second Corinthians 4:6, which says, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” The world looks very similar to the way it was over two thousand years ago when Jesus first stepped foot on it. And just as He brought light to dark hearts then, He continues to do so now through transforming those who trust in Him from the inside out. He replaces our old, sinful hearts with new ones. And as new creations, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, lighting our souls with joy and peace. So let's not keep it to ourselves. Let's share our faith and give the hope of the Gospel to others. For more, visit sharelife.today.
