Share Life Today, in stories from real-life encounters, challenges lay people to learn to share the Gospel every day in an ordinary conversation, to know how to ask great questions, and to testify to the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series “The Real Real,” let me ask you today…what do you think true strength is? I think oftentimes, strength is attributed to the physically strong. We see people join the special forces training in the military and go through tasks that make even the strongest physically buckle. But you know, that's not what real strength is. In fact, it's something that isn't dependent on how weak or strong we are physically. Real strength is God who can create the universe with the sound of His voice. No human strength can match His glorious might. And He promises to be our strength and fight our battles for us. When we're His children who have placed our trust in Jesus and Him alone—His work on the cross—we have a Father who is our shelter and our might. Let's not hold back from sharing with others how they can find their rest and their strength in Jesus as well. For more, visit ShareLife.Today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Have you heard this beautiful chapter before? In Psalm 23, we see a picture of what resting in the Lord looks like. He “makes [us] lie down in green pastures; He leads us by quiet waters; He restores [our] souls.” This peace happens as a by-product of walking with God. From the very first moment we are born again through placing our trust in Jesus alone, we're on an incredible journey of God restoring us through the righteousness of His Son. He grows us in the Fruit of the Spirit, such as peace and joy, as well as gives us Spiritual gifts we can use in service to Him. “He leads [us] on paths of righteousness for His name's sake.” And one of the ways that we can glorify His name is by sharing the Gospel with others. We get the privilege of sharing the Gospel of peace with others. Don't know how to start? We'd love to help. Visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life…” You see, God is holy and perfect. In fact, the book of Habakkuk says that “His eyes are too pure to look upon evil; He can't tolerate wrong.” And according to Matthew, the standard we all must meet is to “be perfect, as our Heavenly Father is perfect.” You see, we have a big problem. And there is a payment due or a wage for our wrongdoings…and that is death. But praise be to God! He had a plan to redeem us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and die on the cross in our place. And all who believe in Him, “He gives the right to become children of God.” We can sing, “Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.” Learn how to share this Good News with others by visiting our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you heard of the Ten Commandments? Well, you can read this famous passage in Exodus 20. A few of them are to have no other gods before the one, true God, to not take the Lord's name in vain, to keep the Sabbath day, to not murder, to not steal, and to not lie. And in modern times, sometimes these laws of God are looked down upon. But truly, they serve an incredible purpose. Not only do they clearly show us what is right and wrong, but it also gives us a view to our own hearts. Jesus taught that if we hate someone, it's the same as murder; if we think lustful thoughts, it's the same as adultery. The law of God shows us that we need a Savior to forgive us of our sins. And praise be to God—a sinless Savior came for us. His name is Jesus. For all who put their trust in Him, they are declared righteous before Almighty God. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever thought, "I just don't know if I can make it into Heaven?" Well, the truth is, you can't! You absolutely cannot make it into Heaven by relying on yourself and your good works. None of us will ever be good enough to get into Heaven. Now if that sounds like really bad news to you, it's actually quite the opposite. You see, if none of us can make it into Heaven by our own righteousness, there has to be another way that does not rely on what we do. Here's the good news: by accepting God's free gift of grace by placing your faith in Jesus, you CAN get to Heaven. The only way to get into Heaven is by relying on the righteousness of Jesus instead of your own good deeds. What a relief! You just need to trust in Jesus alone. For more about the free gift of eternal life, visit us online at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series, “The Real Real,” this week, I want to ask you…what do you think real righteousness is? Well, in our culture, many think and believe that right and wrong is a matter of perspective, but the Bible says something very different. God tells us there is a clear distinction between right and wrong. And we know it in our heart of hearts. In Jeremiah 31, God tells us, “I will put my laws on their hearts, and I will write them in their minds.” And He truly has. It's called our conscience. We know when we fall short and commit wrong. The true miracle is that our perfect, holy, righteous God offers us forgiveness of our wrongs through trusting in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. And then, He gives us a new heart of faith and obedience. We're righteous through Jesus. Who can you share this Good News with today? Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you ever fear what others might think of you? Does it impact your decisions or what you talk about? You know, Hebrews 13:6 says, “We can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?'” Jesus told us Himself before He ascended into heaven that He will be with us always, even to the end of the age. And we can take Him at His Word. There is no competition— the fear of what others may say or do to us should pale in comparison to the reverential fear and awe that we have for our Savior and Lord. Let our anthem be the same as Paul's: to live is Christ; to die is gain. You know, there's too little time that we have here on this earth not to share the Gospel with others! So the question is: will we? Or will we give in to our fears? For resources to help you in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What's your biggest fear? For some, it's spiders, or the dark, or falling from a high place. But for Christians, there is a great fear in sharing our faith. For some, they just don't know where to start. Others are afraid of facing difficult questions or simply rejection. You know, we've all been there; and unfortunately, many believers never move beyond that fear. The problem is, Satan knows this and often uses fear to keep us from sharing the Gospel. But let me encourage you to take that step in faith. Ask God to give you courage. Pray that He will open a door for you to share His love with another person. God loves to prepare people's hearts to hear the Good News, and He is waiting for people willing to step out in faith and speak for Him. God uses ordinary people just like you and me to point others to Christ. So let's put our fears aside, and let's learn how to share! For resources on how you can do that, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The night the tree fell on her house, June was afraid; but her greatest fear was that she would not be good enough to get into Heaven. When Bill and a volunteer clean-up crew showed up at June's house, she was overjoyed. She told Bill how she had taken refuge in the bedroom as she heard the tree crashing on the roof. Sensing the opportunity, Bill asked her if she knew for certain that she'd be with God in Heaven someday. Well, her answer was, “No.” She was afraid she wasn't good enough to get there. And, you know, she's right. None of us are. Bill said, “As I shared the sufficiency of Christ's death and resurrection that paid for her sin, June began to weep openly. God was moving as only He can.” That afternoon, June prayed and asked Jesus Christ to be her Savior and Lord! You know, we never know when the opportunity to share Christ will happen, but it will. Are you prepared? Visit us today at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What's keeping you from sharing the Gospel? Are you afraid that people won't take the time to have a Gospel conversation with you? Well, one of the neat things I've gotten to see over the years is what we at EE call “Divine Appointments.” The Holy Spirit is already drawing people to Himself, and when we step out in faith to share the Gospel, we get to be part of it. And people are open. In fact, they are looking for hope! And God promises He'll be with us. In Matthew 9:35, Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful", and two thousand years later, it remains true. There are people around us every day that God has specifically placed so that we can share with them. And God'll take our fears and turn them around for His glory. So don't let your fears keep you from witnessing to others, the Lord will provide the opportunities if you'll only ask! Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series called “The Real Real,” let me ask you…what do you think a real fear of God is? Well for many, I think it may be misunderstood as fearing a vengeful God who will punish them for any toe that they place out of line. But the Bible tells us something different. In fact, the book of Proverbs describes the fear of the Lord as “the beginning of knowledge.” Now, why would that be? Well, Scripture describes our amazing Heavenly Father as ever-present in times of trouble, patient so that all who would turn to Him in faith have a chance to do so, and a gentle, loving Shepherd who seeks after the lost. A fear of the Lord is a reverence for Who He is—our perfect, majestic, omnipotent God. And in our reverence, we can celebrate knowing that He has made a way for us to have a relationship with Him through Jesus. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that we're more likely to share our faith with others when we're feeling encouraged in our own lives. So, I'd like to share a dose of spiritual encouragement from the Bible that centers on the phrase “fix your eyes.” Where? And on Whom? Well, the twelfth chapter of Hebrews gives this spiritual advice: “Fix your eyes on Jesus.” Fixing our eyes on Jesus encourages us because we can see our problems and struggles from His perspective. It also helps us to see people around us in a different light. They're not simply there to help us or to hinder us. God has placed them in our lives so that we might influence them spiritually by being a friend, an encourager, or a Gospel witness. So, as you “fix your eyes on Jesus” today, be encouraged and tell someone about the Giver of your encouragement. For resources to help you share your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever started a conversation with someone, and the person turned away or looked at their watch? We've all probably experienced that at some point and maybe we've even been the one who's bored wishing we were somewhere else. When sharing the Gospel, it's important that we use our eyes to listen to the other person and how they are responding to what you're saying. We don't want to just talk at someone. It's easy for us to be sharing this wonderful news and then suddenly realize that we've been the one doing ALL the talking. So, remember to include your friend in the conversation by asking questions. Then, listen carefully as they talk so we can respond to their statements. For example, before you talk to your friend about Jesus, ask them the question, “Who would you say Jesus is?” Their answer will be something that you can build upon. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you care about the lost? The truth is for many of us, we don't; or at least not like we should. We would never say it, but our priorities and lives reveal it. We make very little time in our schedules to interact with others, especially those who don't know Jesus. We may even have stopped praying for our lost friends and coworkers entirely! There could be a few reasons...we have gotten far too busy, we have forgotten what it is like to live without the hope of Christ, or we have lost the vision of God's heart for the lost. Well regardless of the reason, this isn't the end. Let's seek forgiveness from Christ for our apathy and push forward—asking God to give us eyes to see people like He does. And when we do, let's be ready to share with them the hope found only in Jesus. For more on how you can share your faith, visit sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Do you want to really be stretched in your faith? Ask God to give you His eyes for other people. And He'll answer that prayer and begin to break your heart for what breaks His. And there is nothing dearer to Christ's heart than people. He created each of us uniquely and for a purpose! Once you start looking, you'll begin to see this for yourself and value others highly. You'll desire for them to have the peace, love, and joy that can only be found in Christ; and then you'll make the effort to start spiritual conversations and look for opportunities to share the Gospel with them. So take the challenge this week! Think of each person you pass by as a neighbor. If you make a conscious effort to really see people as they pass by, you will begin to really care and you will want to witness more! Not sure where to start? We would love to help. We have a lot of resources to get you started! Visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. As we continue our series, “The Real Real,” today, I want to ask the question…what is real sight? Jesus taught Nicodemus in John chapter three that “unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” When we place our trust in Jesus and Him alone, He gives us sight to see His kingdom advancing here on earth. And Jesus further told His disciples after His death and resurrection that He was ascending back to the Father and sending the Holy Spirit to guide and to help us. He will lead and assist us as we share our faith, read the Word, and pray to our Savior and Lord. Another incredible gift the Holy Spirit will give us if we ask Him is His heart and eyes to see and love people as God sees and loves them. This week, ask the Holy Spirit to give you real sight and opportunities to tell others about Jesus. For resources to help you get started, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Many of us remember singing these words, perhaps as little children in Sunday School: “This little light of mine; I'm gonna let it shine. Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine.” Those simple lyrics carry a powerful Biblical truth. In Isaiah 60:1, God calls His people to action, saying, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.” That light is Jesus Christ. He stepped into a dark world, took our sin upon Himself on the cross so we could be forgiven and eternal life could be ours. When we place our faith in Him, His light shines in us, not to be hidden, but to be shared. The world around us is filled with people searching for hope, peace, and truth. God calls us not to shine the light of Christ through telling others about Him. Let's not keep it to ourselves—let's share the Gospel! For help in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The Bible ends with a powerful picture of hope. In Revelation 21:23, we're told that in the new heaven and new earth, there will be no need for the sun or the moon, because the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. For those who trust in Jesus Christ, this is our future. A perfect place where sin, suffering, and death no longer exist, and where we will live in the presence of God forever. This hope is possible because Jesus stepped into the darkness of our world, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again in victory. Darkness did not win. Jesus did. But until that day, God calls us to live as people of the light that share the hope of the Gospel with others. Let's tell those around us about Who Jesus is and what He has done for them! For resources to help you start sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The same God who spoke light into existence is still at work today. Second Corinthians 4:6 tells us that God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” now shines in our hearts through Jesus Christ. That light changes everything. When we trust in Christ, God opens our eyes, forgives our sin, and fills us with hope that lasts beyond this life. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for us turned spiritual darkness into living light. And for all those who place their trust in Jesus, He gives the gift of eternal life. But God never intended us to the Light of the World to ourselves. He shines through us so others can see the truth of the Gospel. Ask God to use your story to point someone to Christ. And then, be ready to share it and the Gospel with them. For help in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The Bible tells us in Colossians 1:13 that God “rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son.” That's not just poetic language. It's a rescue story. Through Jesus Christ, we are delivered from darkness and brought into the light of God's kingdom. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and secured our freedom. Darkness no longer has hold over us that have placed our trust in Jesus and Him alone. But there are many who don't yet the hope and forgiveness that Jesus offers. And God calls us to share this Good News with others who need the very Light of life that we have found. Today, thank God for what He has done in your life, and pray for opportunities to tell others about Jesus and what He has done. And when God gives you those divine appointments, be prepared to share the Gospel with them! For help in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Many people are searching for direction, unsure which way to go. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jesus doesn't just point us to light. He is the light. Through His death on the cross for our sins, He made a way for us to step out of darkness and into new life. Following Christ doesn't remove every challenge, but it gives us a sure guide and an eternal promise. When we place our trust in Him and Him alone, we can rest securely in this promise from Proverbs: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Today, let's choose to trust and follow Jesus and look for opportunities to share the light of the Gospel with those around us. For resources to help you get started, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Revelation 12:11 says that we will defeat the enemy by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” That kind of power shouldn't be hidden—your story should be shared boldly! Jesus will use it as you tell of His goodness and love to those around you. This is exactly what's happening in Sharon's life. Before she had a relationship with Jesus, her existence was dark. She always felt isolated and alone. Sharon looked to friendships to find fulfillment, but nothing ever stuck as she never made any new, long-lasting relationships. But then, she received the free gift of eternal life, and now she knows she is never alone! Sharon feels the peace and love that comes from Jesus living in her heart, and she has found a genuine and lasting community in her church. And she just can't keep it to herself! Her friends have heard it because she shared it with them. Find out how you can do the same at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. To begin to love your neighbor as yourself, you need to ask something very important: what love is! The Bible tells us, "This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." That kind of true love is unconditional, sacrificial, full of grace and forgiveness, and makes an effort to bridge the gap. In Christ's case, His goal was to both show us what true love is as well as to reconcile us to God. He did it by dying a gruesome death on the cross for our sins He didn't deserve it nor needed to do it for Himself, but His great love for us kept him nailed to that cross. He died and rose again, and is now in Heaven offering this free gift of eternal life for all who would believe. So let's follow in our Lord's footsteps. And let's unconditionally love those around us by sharing Jesus' love with them. For more, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. When Jesus shared the parable of the Prodigal Son, He told us of a strained relationship between a kind Father and his wayward son. Ultimately, the Father welcomed his son back with open arms! Romans 5:10 says “For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!” You see, that's the Father's great love. He loved us so much, that He sent His one and only Son from Heaven to die on a cross in our place. We were reconciled through Jesus. So, what can we do to love others as God has loved us? Well, where were you in life when you first came to Christ? Do you know anyone else in that same place who needs to hear about His great love? Ask God to give you opportunities to share the Gospel of reconciliation and love! Want to know more about sharing your faith? Well, visit us at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Here's a question: what are you known for? Jesus says in John 13:35, "By this all people will know that you're my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Over and over again, the Bible urges us to love one another. After all, it is the Father's love that compelled Him to make a way for us to be with Him forever in Heaven! I know a guy named Vince who had a heart procedure. Now, can you believe that DURING the procedure he shared the Gospel with the doctors and nurses in the operating room? I mean, talk about a heart for Jesus! What do you think Vince is known for? Well, I'm sure everyone in that operating room can attest to the fact that Vince truly loves Jesus! What a testimony! Now, I challenge you to look for opportunities where you can show your love for others by sharing your faith. Visit sharelife.today for tips and resources to help you share your faith. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What is real love? Now, that's the question that all of humanity has wrestled with. You see, we all need love. In fact, we're made for it! When God created man and woman, He did so in His own image, and He declared it good. And the Bible tells us over and over about the Father's love for us. In fact, there's a hymn you may have heard before that says, “How deep the Father's love for us; how vast beyond all measure…that He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure.” Jesus told his disciples in John 15 that “greater love hath no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” Did you know that Jesus—who's God Himself—not only came to earth, but He died on the cross for our sins in our place? You see, greater love hath no one than this. And Jesus charged us to share His love with others. Learn more about how you can do just that at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. There are five primary means of growth to help your spiritual walk. Bible. Prayer. Worship. Fellowship; and finally, witness. I was recently in the same room with a brand-new grandmother. You'll never guess what she wanted to talk about…along, of course, with copious pictures. I was recently in the same room with a sports fan and you'll never guess what he wanted to talk about! My point is that we talk about the things which are important to us. So, you could conclude that some Christians don't talk about Jesus because He's not very important to them. As you become more and more involved in the first four means of growth – Bible, Prayer, Worship and Fellowship – Jesus Christ will become more and more important in your life. You'll naturally want to talk about Him. Witnessing is simply telling others about Jesus and why the Bible says Jesus needs to be important to them. For tips and tools to help you become a better witness, visit sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Did you realize there are five different means to help you grow spiritually? I want to talk about fellowship today. How do you define it? Well, you know, I heard someone say, “two or more fellows in the same ship.” You know, when I first heard it, I thought it a bit corny. But…it does get to the heart of the matter of spiritual fellowship. Here, I think, is the main point. Through calm seas or crashing waves, these people are in the same ship together. They need each other…depend on each other…encourage each other …challenge…support each other. Christian fellowship is all of these plus praying for one another, caring for one another and developing friendships with one another. Perhaps this is behind the promise of the Gospel that where two or three believers are gathered together, Jesus is in their midst. Visit share life dot today for more tips and resources to help you share the Gospel and grow in your faith. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Worship - it is easier to describe than define. There are five means of growth that help us growth spiritually. Bible…Prayer…Worship…Fellowship.…Witness. Today, I want to talk about what it means to worship. To worship God is to honor, reverence and adore Him - giving Him the supreme place in our lives. Worship deepens our relationship with our Lord. Let me emphasize two important avenues of worship. Personal, private worship is a daily investment of time that pays an amazing dividend. With your Bible and your prayer list, this one-on-one encounter with Jesus is rich and rewarding. It's the place where His grace and strength comes into our lives every day. Corporate worship is a gathering together of God's people at church to engage in prayer, music and teaching of God's Word. Taken together, these two provide for a necessity of spiritual growth. To help you in your spiritual walk with the Lord, we have plenty of resources online at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. This week on Share Life Today we are looking at how we can grow deeper spiritually. There are five means to spiritual growth – so five words – Bible, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, Witness. I want to focus on the significance of prayer right now. Prayer is one of the greatest privileges of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible is God speaking to us, but prayer is us speaking to God. The simple ACTS acrostic provides a useful guideline: Adoration – praising God for who He is. Confession – admitting our sin and receiving His forgiveness. Thanksgiving – thanking God for all that He does. And supplication – bringing our needs and requests to Him in simple faith. A – C – T – S. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. If we'll do that, we'll be more aware of our great need for the Lord at all times. For more practical tips on becoming an active witness and resources to help you do that, visit sharelife.today. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you tried to read any product labels recently? Talk about complicated! You may have noticed that the more advancement we make in life, the more complicated things become? Unfortunately, the same complicated approach is infiltrating our spiritual lives too. So, it's time to get back to the basics. The product label on the Spiritual Growth package contains five words: Bible, Prayer, Worship Fellowship, Witness. First, we want to focus on the Word of God – the Bible - The place to begin is your commitment to read the Bible. The Bible describes itself as “God-breathed, useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." It's indispensable for our growth in the Lord. Start in the Gospel of John. Read a chapter a day. Read more if you want to, but just get in the habit. Move next to Acts. Then keep going from there. We would count it a privilege to become your Partner in Growing. For more means of growth, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Sometimes, we can get discouraged by the darkness that we see around us. Even turning on the news can cause us to lose hope. But let me share with you today second Corinthians 4:6, which says, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” The world looks very similar to the way it was over two thousand years ago when Jesus first stepped foot on it. And just as He brought light to dark hearts then, He continues to do so now through transforming those who trust in Him from the inside out. He replaces our old, sinful hearts with new ones. And as new creations, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, lighting our souls with joy and peace. So let's not keep it to ourselves. Let's share our faith and give the hope of the Gospel to others. For more, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” This beautiful verse from Psalm twenty-seven teaches us an important truth about Jesus—He is our light and our salvation. Jesus did not come just to be a good example or a great teacher for us—the Bible tells us that He is our Savior. Romans three says that “the wages of sin is death,” and every person that's sinned has to pay it. Jesus told his disciples that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Well, all means all—that's all all means! Every human has fallen short of that standard. But praise be to God! Jesus was more than just another man—He's God in the flesh who died on the cross for our sins. He is our light and salvation. Who can you share this Good News with today? Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. The crowd had gathered from what seemed like everywhere. The city was straining under the weight of all of their needs. This particular night, the crowds were packed inside, outside, and everywhere near the temple. They had come to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. So here they were, gathered to remember when God faithfully led them as a pillar of fire and protected them. And as they lit the great candelabra, the light streamed throughout the temple. You could hear the voice of Jesus over the incredible hush saying, "I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you will not stumble through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." What a statement! He was telling them that He was the One who kept them safe in the wilderness. And the same powerful God has offered us rescue from our sins and eternal death. For all those who come to Him, He offers the light that leads to life. Who can you share this great gift with? To learn more, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In the famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells His disciples, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.[…]In the same way, let your light shine before others.” Well, that's a big responsibility! When people look at us, they should see the light of Jesus shining through. It reminds me of an age old song taught in Sunday school: “This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine…” Well, how do we shine for Jesus? Firstly, we need to continually grow in Him. As we are sharpened and shaped to be more like Christ, we reflect who He is. But it can't stop there. We not only need to become more like Jesus; we also need to tell others about what He has done for us on the cross. Paul tells us that faith comes by hearing, and we want others to hear and have the opportunity to know Jesus too! For more on sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What does it mean to be real light to those around us? Actually, there is no one better to tell us than Jesus Himself. Our Savior declares about Himself in John 8, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” When we place our trust in Jesus as our Savior and Lord, His light lives in us. And we can shine it in our families, our communities, and our nation. And truly, we need to! There are so many things we try to substitute for it. We believe the lie that passions and success will fill us up with light and life, only to leave us empty. But hallelujah! Jesus made a way for us to have real light through His work on the cross. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. On a scale from one to ten, how fulfilling would you say your life is? The lower the number; the less fulfilled you may be. Take a moment and think about your answer. Would a stronger relationship with God move that number up or down? Well, I've asked these questions many times in conversations; and more often than not, I hear people say they think that knowing God would bring their number up! It makes sense—Jesus Himself says in John 10:10, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." So, how can we have this fulfilling relationship with Jesus? We need to put our trust in the unfailing and unshakeable work He did on the cross when He died for you and for me. The Bible says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Will you make that decision today? Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. How good is good enough to go to Heaven? Well, someone once answered this question to me with a batch of chocolate chip cookies. You can put the highest quality of ingredients in the batter; but if you use just one rotten egg, it ruins the whole batch. Just like a bad egg in a cookie batch, even one sin ruins our chances of getting into heaven with a perfect and holy God. Habakkuk says that God cannot tolerate our sin. But despite this, there is good news! God loves us, and wants to save us from our sin. So while we are not good enough to go to heaven on our own works, Jesus lived a perfect life and offered Himself as a sacrifice in our place. What we have to do is accept God's gift of grace! So, stop trying to work your way into Heaven. Instead, place your faith in the work that Jesus did for you on the cross. If you need to know more, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Let's suppose I stood before a judge with fifty thousand parking tickets; and in my opportunity to speak, I asked the judge, "Your Honor, would you please let me go? I promise I'll be a perfect driver from now on." Do you think that judge should declare me free? If he or she did, they couldn't be considered a just judge. The reason I share this illustration is that it is the same decision God is faced with when looking at our sin. Yes, He loves us and doesn't want to punish us; but on the other hand, He is just and must punish sin. Do you see the problem? Well, God solved this problem in the person of Jesus Christ, who lived an absolutely perfect life, died on the cross to pay for our sins, and all we have to do is put our trust in Jesus alone to be declared righteous in God's sight. What amazing grace — that Jesus would do that for us! For more, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever put your hope in another person? Well, if that person is trustworthy, it's fine! But here's the problem with placing your hope in other people: sometimes, they let you down. But I am here to tell you that placing your hope in Jesus will never result in you being let down. Lamentations 3 says this: "Therefore I have hope. Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." What a wonderful thing, to know that your hope for eternal life in Heaven can be certain because Jesus is faithful! If you don't have this hope yet, look to Jesus. His mercies never fails. To learn more about this never-failing hope and to learn how pass it along to others, friends, relatives, coworkers...visit us at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. What are you completely certain about? You can be sure the sun will rise to the east and set to the west. You can be sure that one plus one will always equal two. And you can be absolutely certain that you cannot get into Heaven because of the good things you've done. Now, before you write that off as a calloused statement or simply an opinion, consider what the Bible says. The Bible tells us that no one is good, not even one. It also says to be perfect, just as your Father in Heaven is perfect. It is a real problem for us if no one is good, yet we are expected to be perfect. We simply cannot do it! This problem is solved by the Person of Jesus Christ who was both God and Man - perfect, just and full of grace. You can be certain that placing your faith in Jesus is enough for eternal salvation. Have you accepted that grace? Find out more by visiting sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. When God gives us new eyes, He also gives us new steps. The Apostle Paul spoke of a deep burden for those who didn't yet know Christ. His heart moved his feet. Colossians tells us to make the most of every opportunity, and Jude reminds us to show mercy, meeting people where they are. Sharing the Gospel is about obedience to what Christ has called us to do. We need to ask God to show us what He is doing, and then join Him in it. As He leads and guides, He gives us opportunities to open our mouths and to share the best news ever—and that's the Gospel! When compassion shapes our vision and drives us to action, everyday conversations become divine appointments. Jesus has already done the saving work through His death and resurrection. Our role is simply to go and tell all we can. Today, ask God for new eyes to see the lost around you and courage to share His hope. To get started, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In Luke 15, Jesus tells us three powerful stories about something lost: a sheep, a coin, and a son. And in each story, the message is clear. No one is insignificant. Heaven rejoices over just one person that turns to God. Jesus shows us a Shepherd who leaves the 99 to find the one, a woman who scours her house for a single coin, and a father who waits and runs to welcome his child home. That's how much God values one life. And this is why Jesus went to the cross. Our Savior gave His life so that we could come to Him in repentance and receive the gift of eternal life. One by one, we come. And when we truly understand the value God places on every person, we're moved to share the Gospel with patience, love, and joy with those around us. Today, ask God to show the one in your life that you need to share the Good News with. For help, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Have you ever wondered how God feels about those who are far from Him? Well, Jesus made it clear in Luke nineteen when He said He came to seek and to save that which is lost. God's heart is not one of condemnation, but compassion. Through the prophet Ezekiel, the Lord says that He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. In Second Peter, God reminds us that He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish. This is why Jesus came. He gave His life on the cross and rose again so that anyone who believes in Him could be forgiven and have everlasting life. Like the father in Luke fifteen who ran to the prodigal son returning home and embraced him with open arms, Jesus welcomes and celebrates all those who place their trust in Him alone. Remember that every person you encounter matters deeply to God. Ask Him to use you to share His love and truth. And for help in getting started, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Why does vision matter when it comes to sharing our faith? Well, because Scripture tells us the reality of lostness. Isaiah says that all of us, like sheep, have gone astray. Ephesians reminds us that apart from Christ, people are spiritually dead in sin. And Second Corinthians explains that many are blinded to the truth. Understanding this changes how we respond to the lost around us. When we see people as Jesus does, our frustration turns into compassion. And that's why the Gospel matters so much. Jesus stepped into our brokenness, took our sin on the cross, and rose again to bring life to those who are spiritually dead. We ourselves were in the exact same spot before Jesus transformed our heart. When we remember where we came from, we're moved to lovingly share the Good News with others. Today, ask God to give you eyes to see the spiritual condition of those around you. For help, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, it's easy to see people the way the world sees them, by appearances, attitudes, or behavior. But God invites us to see differently. First Samuel 16 reminds us that while people look at the outward appearance, the Lord looks at the heart. Jesus trained His disciples to lift their eyes and to see people not as interruptions, but as beings of great worth. When Jesus looked at the crowds, Matthew tells us that He felt compassion for them. And seeing led to feeling, and feeling led to action. When God gives us new eyes, we begin to notice hearts instead of hurdles and people instead of problems. Jesus came to seek and save the lost by giving His life on the cross and rising again so others could have eternal life. Today, ask God to help you see as Jesus sees. And as He opens your eyes, look for opportunities to share the hope of the Gospel with those around you. For help, visit our website at sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. There are moments in life when it's hard to see what God is doing. Circumstances may feel uncertain, and the future may seem unclear. Yet God speaks words of hope to His people in Isaiah 43:19, saying, “See, I am doing a new thing; now it springs up, do you not perceive it?” Even when we don't recognize it, God is actively at work, bringing renewal and purpose. The new thing God is doing in us is all because of Jesus. Through His death on the cross, our sins are forgiven, and new life is made possible. When we place our trust in Christ, God begins a work in us that transforms our hearts and gives us lasting hope for today and eternity. God never intended this hope to stop with us. He calls us to share the Good News with those around us who are searching for meaning and peace. For help in sharing your faith, visit our website at sharelife.today. That's sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. You know, it's easy to get stuck looking backward. Past failures. Past pain. Past mistakes. But God calls us to lift our eyes. In Isaiah 43:18, He says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” God doesn't want our past to hold us captive. Through Jesus Christ, our past is forgiven, our guilt is removed, and our future is secure. Jesus took our sin upon Himself on the cross and rose again so that we could walk in freedom and newness of life. When we place our faith in Him, we are no longer defined by what was, but by who He is. If God has freed you from the past, share that freedom with others. There are people around you who need to hear the Gospel—that forgiveness and grace are available today through believing in Jesus Christ alone. Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. In a world filled with uncertainty, many people wonder what comes next. Pain, loss, and change reminds us how temporary this life can be. But for those who trust in Christ, the Bible offers a powerful promise. In Isaiah 65:17, the Lord says, “I will create a new heaven and a new earth.” God is preparing something far greater than anything we experience here. For believers, Heaven is not wishful thinking. It is a certain hope secured by Jesus Christ. Through His death on the cross, our sin was fully paid for, and eternal life was made possible. Because Jesus lives, those who trust in Him can face the future with confidence, knowing that after this life ends, Heaven awaits. This hope is too important to keep to ourselves. Every person will spend eternity somewhere, and God calls us to share the Gospel so others possess the same hope we have. For help, visit sharelife.today.

Hi, I'm John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you're listening to Share Life Today. Our world is searching for peace. We see it in our neighborhoods, our cities, and even in our own homes. People talk about peace, but so often we find division, fear, and unrest. The Bible reminds us that true peace doesn't come from agreements or good intentions. It comes from a Person. Ephesians 2:15 tells us that Jesus came to create something new. Through Jesus Christ, we're first brought into peace with God. On the cross, He took our sins upon Himself and made a way for forgiveness and new life. As believers, God calls us to share this message of peace with others. Changed lives change families. Changed families change communities. And through the Gospel spreading person to person, true peace is brought to the world. Let's join what God is already doing and look for opportunities to share Jesus with those around us.
