Subtempo Radio

After a short hiatus on mixes, we return with DJ and producer Rene Lorenzo. Coming off his fresh release on Subtempo earlier this year, he shares an intricate ambient through dub techno journey from his record collection that you don't want to miss.

This month's mix comes from the newly formed experimental trio AxOxH. While new as a band, it's composed of electronic music veterans, whose mutual love for modular synths and experimentation brought them together during the pandemic in a garage in Los Angeles. Take a trip through the varied landscape they've outlined for us in this mix through the likes of Arca, Aphex Twin, and more.

This month's mix comes from Argentinian composer Olec Mün. This beautiful instrumental journey across genres is a perfect late-night companion to your creative endeavors. This month's mix comes from surprising duo from the UK, Umber. It's rare when family and creativity meet, but in this case, the paths of these brothers have intersected throughout their careers. Who better than the wonderful Léo @leo-booka to wrap up the 5-year celebrations with a bow? This man is a myth, a true selector where there was one, with remarkable range and taste. One of my first influences, he has inspired me many times over and over the years and continues to do so. From underground raves in the '90s to clubs or festivals, the past three decades have witnessed an eclectic musical journey for Léo, back to his roots under the Zeon moniker, he delves into a world of ambient beats and blissed-out textures crafting a warm sonic dialogue with a deep sense of hypnotism and spirit. This month's guest mix comes from LA-based DJ and producer @rithma. Tracklist + Interview: subtempo.com/mixes/rithma A veteran in the house and tech-house scene, back in the mid 2000s, Rithma had built quite a decent fan-base, touring the US and releasing music on labels such as the famous OM Records out of San Francisco. As he tells us in this deep interview, he took several years of hiatus to deal with his addictions. It's great to see him come back strong, and what best way than with a fresh new release and this mix to go along with it. Expect house beats on a soulful tip.
