The Swiss-Colombian duo operate somewhere between academic discipline and raw, system-shaking instinct. Their background in sound art and theory is like the scaffolding they climb to throw punches from unexpected angles. Every release, whether on Ilian Tape, TraTraTrax or their own Miras imprint, feels like a study in tension: synthetic vs organic, chaos vs control, deep listening vs full-body response. Their sound demands submission. This “Delayed with…” mix is a live recording from H0l0 in NYC during a fabulous Final Passage night that felt like a pressure cooker ready to blow. Atrice went straight for the circuitry, sending pulses through a room thick with fog and anticipation. Over two hours, they bent tempo and space, stitching breakbeat mutations, sub-bass architecture, and brain-bending percussive patterns into something that felt both unstable and surgically tight. It's not a set you glide through but one that pulls you under, spins you around, and spits you out somewhere unfamiliar but fully alive. Laksa's (@laksauk) contribution to techno is as vital as it is hard to define. The London-based Bristolian never sits still in one stylistic niche and is as likely to ramp up the techno as he is slow then down. His meticulously designed grooves have come on tasteful labels like Hessle Audio, Timedance and Ilian Tape, always with a focus on dance floor dynamics. Further creative outlets come in the form of the re:lax label, club night and NTS show he runs with with re:ni. Most recently he has cooked up the WONDA EP which includes a vocal collaboration with Nyege Nyege-affiliated Phelimuncasi The podcast he serves up for us is, in his own words, "a mix of hype and hypnotism" and it includes some tasty unreleased music from the man himself as well as the likes of Ma Sha, Siu Mata, Erik Luebs and Crespi Drum Syndicate. The 90 minutes are as wide-ranging as you might expect with bass-heavy grooves, trance-inducing synths, broken techno workouts and tribal rhythmic explorations all making sure both head and body are catered for in style.

Angela and Daniele, first crossed paths in a world far removed from the pulsating beats of the nightclub scene. Angela, with a background in performance, dance, and vocal work, and Daniele, a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, discovered a shared vision rooted in their diverse influences.✨ From the earthy grooves of Naples to the pulsating energy of the electronic music scene, Fireground crafts an ecstatic and universally compelling sound.

Mia Koden (@miakoden) first emerged as half of Sicaria Sound but since breaking out alone has established her own musical identity. It draws on her South Sudanese heritage and music from across the African continent and beyond, not least her current surroundings in South London and the city's rich sound system culture. Often operating around the 140BPM mark, she dropped two head-turning tracks ‘Hot Take' and 'I Did' early last year then debuted on Ilian Tape with a dark and irresistible EP that traverses multiple bass-heavy genres. Mia does the same with her mix for us this week with, in her words, "bass, percussive, 2step, 140BPM, dubstep, dub, dub techno and breaks" all coming thick and fast at up to 150 beats per minute. It's a breathless 90-minute selection of global body music packed with lively percussion, big on low ends and not afraid to get rhythmically inventive while also dropping in the odd playful vocal from the worlds of grime and r&b. Both technically sound and tastefully assembled, it's a thrilling statement from the vital Koden.

TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ MYLES SERGE The enigmatic Myles Sergé is a low flying techno producer, hard working label head and old school DJ, however he prefers the term 'reclusive perfectionist'. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Myles experienced a temporary sojourn to the beachside of the the UK's Brighton before relocating to Berlin. In some respects the American's music bypasses the melodic classicalism of Detroit for a stripped-back European take on techno, though the mettlesome machine- funk of his raw style, and rough and ready prowess behind the decks, is never too far from the outer-regions of the US' motorcity he calls home. As a regular guest at Tresor, with no stranger to bookings at Berlin's Berghain, Griessmuehle and ://about blank, to his residency at Steevio's Freerotation festival in Wales, Myles is a shining example of how one can traverse the European-American transatlantic divide. With a belt of labels under his control - (MS), Re-Form, Dosed and Space - Myles has since moved on to count the likes of NYC's Thema, The Zenker Brother's Ilian Tape and Dan Curtin's Metamorphic imprints as home for his music. Never one to boast, Myles Sergé Clark's revised approach to the warehouse techno of his recent mixes and DJ sets keeps the quality underground. Sciahri has been meandering throughout the spectrum of Techno ever since his 2014 debut EP on Ilian Tape. He has since released on some of the most influential labels, such as Opal Tapes, Manhigh, Semantica, Mord, and, in parallel, via his own outlet Sublunar Records since 2017. More recently in 2022 he started a live project focused on ambient/ experimental Techno, with a world premiere at the Tehran Contemporary Sounds festival. Skee Mask is one of dance music's greatest crossover stories of the past decade, with new albums greeted with the attention usually reserved for an Aphex Twin or a Caribou. ("Loved seeing this on r/indieheads," said one Reddit user, on the release of the 2021 LP Pool.) It's not hard to understand why: albums like Compro, he blends well-worn dance music tropes with incredible, detailed soundscapes and spine-tingling melodies. And on his 12-inches, he brings that sensibility to the dance floor, with an approach probably best described as articulate. Even on his most ambient of tracks, everything is in its right place. Along with founders the Zenker Brothers, his music outlines everything that makes Munich outfit Ilian Tape one of the best techno labels going. On the decks, it's kind of a different story. It might surprise you if you only know his albums, but Skee Mask is an incredible DJ, balancing his predilection for hip-hop and UK-informed sounds with laser-focused techno. He can adapt to all sorts of situations—there's an incredible recording of him DJing with four of the best grime and drum & bass MCs in the business—and on his RA Podcast he focuses on the techno side of things, with nearly two hours of pacey techno and creative mixing, with dips into acid, electro, garage and more. It's a party-starting mix from a genuine star, perfect for getting through the holiday doldrums or pre-gaming your NYE plans.
