Chase Senior hosts and produces the Chase Down Podcast - A sports centric podcast that reaches beyond just the everyday, common fan. Listeners can expect one-on-one interviews with on-air personalities, athletes and industry leaders. Topics will also include: pop culture, music, cuisine, lifestyle, tech and more! You can find Chase on Twitter @Chase_Senior.
After 3.5 years, Chase Senior is moving on and leaving WNEP. In this final podcast, he thanks everyone for the support, goes over some of the highlights of his time in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, then previews Super Bowl 55 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
To start things off, Chase Senior shares an exciting career announcement, then looks at the legacy of Tom Brady. Is TB12 the greatest individual athlete in the history of American professional sports? Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, LeBron, Michael Phelps, Tiger, Jack Nicklaus and Serena Williams are all in that class. What does this loss mean for Aaron Rodgers' legacy? He's now 1-4 in NFC championships. The Chiefs are the football equivalent of the Golden State Warriors.
The Philadelphia Eagles surprised many by hiring Colts offensive coordinator, Nick Sirianni. Who is he? What's his resume? Why did the Eagles hire him? Does he have a chance to succeed, given the failures of the organization? Chase Senior discusses all that and previews Buccaneers vs. Packers, Bills vs. Chiefs for championship weekend!
Tom Brady is about to appear in his 14 conference championship game in 19 years as a starter. Say what you want, but the guy is GREAT. What is Drew Brees' legacy if he retires? Are the Saints chokers? Aaron Rodgers is an assassin right now. Can the Packers be beat? Bills still look like a Super Bowl team, arrow pointing up for Cleveland and Andy Reid has some stones! Chase Senior breaks it all down.
A ton to get to and talk about. Urban Meyer gets hired by the Jaguars. Nick Saban wins another national championship, James Harden gets traded to the Nets, what's going on with Kyrie? And a divisional round playoff preview that we're coining "legacy weekend." Chase Senior touches on it all. Enjoy!
Oh, how quickly things can change. Less than three years after winning the first Super Bowl in franchise history, the Eagles have fired Doug Pederson. This is an organization that wreaks of dysfunction because of a meddling owner and general manager who can't draft. Chase Senior discusses that dysfunction, the Eagles' firing of Pederson and why the job opening may not be desirable to candidates on the market.
Chase Senior recaps Super Wild Card weekend. The Bills escape against the pesky Colts. Lamar Jackson picks up his first playoff win. The Browns face near impossible circumstances, yet still demolish the Steelers. Sean McVay and the Rams take down Russ and the Seahawks, thanks to a great defense. TB12 shines, the Bears offense puts you to sleep, Nickelodeon broadcast and a whole lot more.
On this episode of the Chase Down Podcast, Chase Senior lists his top six head coaching vacancies in the NFL and explains which jobs are the most desirable and which gigs are tall tasks. Which candidates are in the running? The Lions, Falcons, Jets, Jaguars, Chargers, and Texans are all currently looking for head coaches.
Small, locally owned businesses have been crushed by the pandemic. It's a shame because these businesses are part of the fabric of America. That's what makes what Barstool Sports and Dave Portnoy are doing for them, incredible. The Barstool fund has raised more than $18 million, saving nearly 80 businesses in the process and those numbers are only going to increase.
The NFL pulled off a full season with cancelling a single game. Props to the league. Now, it's time for some playoff football. Coming up, we look at the playoff matchups and spreads, marvel at some quarterback performances, discuss Notre Dame - Alabama and Ohio State - Clemson, then Chase Senior explains why what the Eagles did against Washington was smart.
As 2020 comes to a close, so too does the NFL regular season. Chase Senior breaks down all of the playoff scenarios heading into the final week of the regular season. Why would you listen to any other podcast? Plus, the Bills are the team best equipped to beat the Chiefs. Ater being historically bad, Seattle's defense has completely turned it around. What do we make of the Steelers? Dwayne Haskins was doomed when he was drafted on Washington but he did this to himself. It's a good thing the Eagles lost and showing love to the ageless Tom Brady.
Two weeks left in the regular season! The playoff pictures in both conferences are tight. The AFC playoffs in particular are going to be riveting. Bills win a division title for the first time since 1995. The Jets come through with the biggest upset of the year, taking down the Rams, but lose the top pick....for now. Some numbers surrounding the Chiefs are just insane as they hold off the Saints in Drew Brees' return. Hurts vs. Murray in the dessert was a show.
Yes, it's only been five and a half quarters, but Jalen Hurts has impressed in the early going. He's shown flashes of being really good and soon, the Eagles could be faced with a major decision. Move the franchise forward with Jalen Hurts and Doug Pederson, or keep Carson Wentz and find a new coach, because clearly Pederson and Wentz don't work well together. Chase Senior explains why Jalen Hurts could be the guy and there's a trade partner that makes too much sense for Wentz and the Eagles.
Things are getting a little tighter and a lot more interesting as we're on the fourth quarter of the NFL season. In his first career start, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles break the Saints nine game winning streak and move New Orleans out of the top spot in the NFC. The Bills and Colts are playing like two of the best teams in the AFC, maybe even better than Kansas City. Bucs get a win, Washington is suddenly fun to root for?
Looking for a source of motivation or inspiration? Maybe this will help! Running has taught Chase Senior a lot during the pandemic. It's helped him get through some up and down times, it's relieved stressed and has helped strengthen his mind and body. It's almost like running is a competition with yourself. When your mind and body tells you to stop, you compete, and crank out another mile to push yourself. Chase also just read David Goggins' book, "Can't Hurt Me" where Goggins talks about the "40 percent rule," which has served as a source of motivation and can for everybody out there. Read about this here: https://thechasedown.com/2020/12/14/what-running-has-taught-me-during-the-pandemic/
On this episode of The Chase Down podcast, Chase Senior brings on Derrick Gunn, who for more than two decades was a reporter and host covering the Philadelphia Eagles for Comcast SportsNet and NBC Sports Philadelphia. Now, he hosts "The Gunn on One" podcast. Chase and Derrick talk about the launch of CSN back in the late 90's, what it's like to be his own boss now after he started his own business, can Carson Wentz be salvaged? Will Wentz, Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman all be back next year? D Gunn is also an incredible cook. We get into that and what he would cook his good friend, Andy Reid.
Jalen Hurts will get the start over Carson Wentz on Sunday against the Saints. It's time, given how poorly Wentz has played, but the Eagles have also failed Wentz and Howie Roseman is to blame. He's the biggest problem with the franchise. Lastly, why James Harden being traded to the Sixers is a horrible idea.
Gregg Williams sends a zero blitz, gets burned by Derek Carr and Henry Ruggs and loses his job. What was with that play call? Baker balls out for the Browns and Cleveland is now 9-3. Mayfield over his last six games has thrown 11 touchdowns and only one pick. Are the Browns for real, for real?! The Giants go into Seattle with Colt McCoy and beat the Seahawks. Carson Wentz gets benched.
On this episode of The Chase Down podcast, Chase Senior brings on retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, Al Ornoski. Ornoski served two tours in Afghanistan and is a Bronze Star Medal recipient. What was it like being in the heat of the global war against terrorism? What are some of the struggles soldiers run into after combat? How can police officers receive better training? Ornoski runs his own global security company now, called Protection 6. His clients include Fortune 500 companies, celebrities, athletes, high level businessmen and politicians. You can give him a follow on Instagram @Protection6 and check out his company's website, https://protection6.com/

"This is our new norm. To be playing football in February." That Eagles coach Doug Pederson said on parade day in 2018 after the Eagles beat the Patriots. So much for the new norm. The Eagles have gotten worse every season since and are 3-5-1 facing a brutal upcoming schedule. What has happened and how can the Birds be fixed? Chase Senior has a plan.
Lets get it. Another Chase Down Fast Five. It's good to be Dustin Johnson, the Giants are improving every week, two NFL teams are going to get great value selecting either Kyle Trask or Mac Jones, the Dolphins, Raiders, Cardinals rebuilds are well ahead of schedule, Murray Magic. https://thechasedown.com/2020/11/16/the-chase-down-fast-5-five-observations-and-takeaways-from-the-weekend/

Last Saturday, Joe Biden was named President-Elect of the United States. He grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania, has spent his entire adult life in politics and has had to overcome several personal and professional hardships. On this episode of The Chase Down Podcast, Chase Senior speaks with Borys Krawczeniuk, who's been covering politics in Northeastern Pennsylvania for more than 30 years. His story on Biden winning the election was on the front page of The Scranton-Times Tribune. In that story, Borys spoke with some of Biden's childhood friends who have known him for close to eight decades.

Raiders have been impressive. Seahawks and Bills have defensive problems. Buccaneer beat down by the Saints. Garrett Gilbert almost had the day of his life. Concerned about Lamar? Is Mahomes not talked about enough somehow? Dalvin Cook on tear
Debuting The Chase Down Fast Five! Five observations and takeaways in rapid fire fashion from week nine in the NFL now that we're officially past the halfway point and heading down the stretch! 1. Who's the best team in the NFC? 2. Tua can play and has star potential. 3. Starting to get concerned about Lamar Jackson. 4. Is Dalvin Cook the best running back in the game? 5. I don't know how good the Panthers are right now, but I know they're going to be dangerous for a long time.
Illinois is the only state in the Midwest and one of only a handful of states in America where high school football is NOT being played this fall. The hope was that high school basketball would be played, but now that season is in jeopardy as well because of a recent decision made by the state. It's been a contentious battle between the state's governor and the IHSA, parents, coaches and athletes. Chase Senior brings on his great friend and former coworker, Derek Parris of Channel1450.com to explain what's going on in the passionate sports state of Illinois, the mental health toll it's taken on athletes and they reminisce about their time working together.
Matt McGloin and Chase Senior recap week eight in the NFL! THe Steelers remain undefeated, concerns for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Joe Burrow's Bengals get a nice win over the Titans. Bills beat the Patriots for the first time since 2016, Patriots funk continues. Tua debut. Raiders beat the Browns in an ugly game with lots of wind. Saints win their fourth in a row, Chicago's offensive struggles continue. The Carson Wentz turnover problem. All that and more. Enjoy!
Happy Halloween weekened! It is a jam packed Friday. Trevor Lawrence tests positive for COVID, Tony La Russa at 76 years old is now the new manager of the White Sox?! I'm intrigued. It's unfortunate to see what's happening with high school sports in Illinois, Daryl Morey to the Sixers gives me faith that Sixers ownership might know what it's doing, week 8 NFL picks ATS. Lets get back on track!
The Dodgers finally got it done, winning their first World Series since 1988. There's a lot to unpack: Clayton Kershaw saves his legacy, Dave Roberts saves his job, Justin Turner tests positive, the case for Mookie Betts over Mike Trout. Also, after reading the TB12 Method, one thing became apparent. Tom Brady preaches focus, discipline, accountability, consistency and the pursuit of greatness. That's translated to the Buccaneers locker room, changed the culture and has the Buccaneers looking like the best team in the NFC.
Chase Senior and former Penn State, NFL and XFL quarterback, Matt McGloin recap a highly entertaining week seven in the NFL. Tom Brady and the Bucs are rolling, while Cam Newton and Bill Belichick.....are not. Steelers - Titans was a fantastic heavyweight fight. OBJ is done for the year, but Baker balled for the Browns. Russell Wilson vs. Kyler Murray is going to be a lot of fun for the next several years. All of that and more! Enjoy!
We measure quarterbacks on comebacks, game winning drives and clutch plays. While Carson Wentz may not be elite yet, he is CLUTCH. The sample size proves that. Also, lets make some week seven picks ATS! So far this year, I'm 21-9, but have cooled off after a hot start. Lets get it moving again!
On this episode of The Chase Down Podcast, Chase Senior explains why he's so excited for the World Series between the Dodgers and Rays, two of the most forward thinking organizations in the world. We also nervously await another Clayton Kershaw World Series. The Dallas Debacle. Why goodness the Cowboys look like an unprepared, poorly coached team. Finally, Carson Wentz is gutsy and the dude is a baller. When evaluating his play, you can't just look at the box score. No quarterback is putting up with what Wentz is dealing with. The team is falling apart around him, yet he keeps fighting.
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers lay the smack down on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. What a week for the Titans, crushing the Bills, then outdueling the Titans. Ryan Tannehill is a MVP candidate? The Steelers show the Browns who runs the AFC North. Is it time to take the Bears for real? Carson Wentz nearly leads an epic comeback. Phillip Rivers had the guns drawn and led the Colts back. All that and more. Enjoy!
Week six in the NFL is here! Lets take a look at the card and make some picks against the spread! Le'Veon Bell's Jets tenure was a disaster. What him signing with the Chiefs can teach us all. Also, Chase Senior explains why the NFL is managing the COVID situation just fine. There's a positivity rate in the league of about .02. We knew positive cases were going to happen, but it's all about how the league manages it.
In watching the NFL this year, one thing has become blatantly obvious. It's the insane level of quarterbacking we're seeing across the league right now. The quality of quarterback play has never been deeper or better. Why is that, though? On this episode of The Chase Down podcast, Chase Senior explains the many reasons behind it. Chase also wrote about all of this, so be sure to check the article out here: https://thechasedown.com/2020/10/14/is-the-level-of-quarterback-play-in-the-nfl-at-an-all-time-high/
LeBron James has won his fourth NBA championship and fourth Finals MVP with his third different team. He's a 16-time all star, 13-time all-NBA first team selection, first in NBA history in playoff points and minutes played and has NEVER missed a playoff game. He's officially the greatest player for the longest amount of time in NBA history. Chase Senior explains why, plus notes on why the NBA ratings fell and why bubble championships deserve more credit and praise.
On the same day Alex Smith returned from an injury that nearly took his life two years ago, Dak Prescott suffered a gruesome injury that ended his season. Chase Senior and Matt McGloin discuss that, plus Russell Wilson does it again. Did Mike Zimmer make the right decision? The Raiders stun the Chiefs on the road. The Browns are for real! All that and much, much more. Enjoy!
On this episode of The Chase Down Podcast, Chase Senior previews the week five card in the NFL and makes his weekly picks ATS. Last week, he suffered his first losing week of the season, so it's time to get back on track! Who knows which games will be played because of COVID, but lets break 'em down anyway.
In benching Dwayne Haskins after four games for Kyle Allen, the Washington Football Team has failed Haskins and done its former first round pick dirty. This is coming from someone who isn't even a huge Dwayne Haskins fan! Also, congratulations to Cleveland Browns fans. Your football team finally has a quality coach who's going to win a lot of games. Cleveland has found its identity and it's all thanks to Stefanski.
It was a busy week in the NFL on the field and off of it. Chase Senior and Matt McGloin break it all down. Part of what makes baseball great is the sport's tradition and history, but at the same time, that's also hurt MLB's efforts to grow the game in recent years. Due to the pandemic, though, MLB was forced to evolve and make changes and those changes have been effective. Chase Senior explains why he hopes those changes are permanent and why MLB should continue to move forward, not be rigid and go backwards like its shown the propensity to do. You can also read about this here: https://thechasedown.com/2020/10/01/rigid-mlb-was-forced-to-finally-evolve-its-worked-lets-hope-these-changes-are-permanent/
Patrick Mahomes is in a class of his own and he seems to be getting better and more comfortable with every big game. That's a scary thought. What's also concerning is how Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have performed against the Chiefs and in the playoffs. Lamar and the Ravens are 0-3 against Kansas City, 0-2 in the postseason, but 21-1 against everybody else. Chase Senior explains why the Ravens are flawed front runners, like a Ferrari trying to drive through a snow storm.
Aaron Rodgers is pissed off and motivated and has the Packers out to a scorching hot start, while Russell Wilson just put together the best three game stretch we've ever seen! How about those 3-0 Bills and the play of Josh Allen? Nick Foles works his magic again. Come on Atlanta! Tom Brady and the Buccaneers are starting to put it together and the Eagles continue to struggle. All that and more as Chase Senior and Matt McGloin take you through the week three slate.

For the Philadelphia sports fan, let this be a therapy session where you can let out your frustrations and vent and still get educated!
Through two weeks on our Underrated Hour Podcast picks of the week against the spread, I'm a combined 9-1. I'm feeling good. I'm feeling confident. Lets keep it rolling. You can read about the picks and analysis here: https://thechasedown.com/2020/09/24/im-on-a-heater-will-it-continue-week-3-nfl-picks-ats/
