In the third of the NHL Wraparound Celebrity Series, Neil and Vic welcome three-time Super Bowl champion placekicker with the New England Patriots Stephen Gostkowski to the show. The four-time Pro Bowler and Patriots all-time scoring leader covers a range of topics from his early days or an athlete, to playing under Bill Belichick and with Tom Brady to life after football.Gostkowski even mixes in a little hockey as a young fan of the Buffalo Sabres and, more recently, the Boston Bruins.IN THIS EPISODE:[01:49] - Neil welcomes Stephen Gostkowski to the show. Gostkowski shares how he got into placekicking as well as the uniqueness of the position where the participation in a game is brief but, often, very noticeable. Simply, the life of a kicker.[06:47] - Given the apparent isolation for a kicker, Stephen shares who he bonded with during the course of his career.[10:20] - The expectations succeeding Adam Vinatieri, a kicker who had carved his niche in NFL lore with four Super Bowl wins (three with New England) including some of the great clutch kicks in league history.[13:16] - The relationship with head coach Bill Belichick.[15:33] - Gostkowski's interesting take on why there's likely no coaching comparable in hockey, baseball or basketball to Belichick.[17:29] - How 'bout Tom Brady?[20:33] - Born in Louisiana and spending some early years in Buffalo, Gostkowski laced skates up at an early age and even suffered a casualty quite common to NHL players. However, any thoughts of playing hockey were erased by a move to Mississippi and played a significant role in Stephen eventually playing football.[22:43] - A fan of the Sabres growing up, Stephen still recalls the heartbreak of the 1999 "Toe in the Crease" controversy which delivered the Stanley Cup to Dallas. Since coming to the New England area almost two decades ago, his team allegiance has shifted as he's gotten to know some of the Bruins players.[24:51] - Remaining a fan of the team Stephen made his mark with. [26:18] - Thoughtful dialogue about transitioning from pro sports back to a "normal life." It's something Gostkowski had to adjust to and an area he wants to be able to assist others with.[31:17] - The deeper dive of the transition is the locker room/team environment being replaced family life and other activities which can be fulfilling, albeit not on a competitive level. Stephen adds a bucket list item for himself.[35:49] - After investing so much in himself, Gostkowski was recognized in March...and just might be again in 2026...Website: www.nhlwraparound.comX: https://twitter.com/NHLWraparoundNeil Smith: https://twitter.com/NYCNeilVic Morren: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vic-morren-7038737/NHL Wraparound Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/nhlwraparound/#NHLWraparound #NHLWraparound.com #ShortShifts #NYCentric #CelebritySeries #HallofFameEdition #StanleyCupdate #SummerCoolers #Smith'sPix #NeilSmith #VicMorren #PatrickHoffman #NHL #SummerCoolers #BobbyValentine #ChrisChelios #StephenGostkowski #NewEnglandPatriots #TedyBruschi #AdamVinatieri #BillBelichick #NorthCarolinaTarheels #TomBrady #WayneGretzky #MichaelJordan #LeBronJames #DerekJeter #KobeBryant #AlexanderMogilny #PatLafontaine #RobRay #DominikHasek #MikeVrabel #AlexeiKovalev #CraigWolanin #NationalAmericanPolishSportsHallofFame #ProFootballHallofFame #PatrickChung
I learned this lesson early in my management career and have lived it every day since: a great team will always outperform a group of individual stars, no matter how talented those individuals are. A real team isn't just people doing their jobs—it's a system where everyone is aligned on the same goal, willing to collaborate, share best practices, sacrifice their own time, and do whatever it takes to help the team win. In this episode, I break down why teams outperform individuals and share a powerful two-minute clip from Tom Brady about the difference between champions and stars. Brady says it perfectly: "Champions do what stars aren't willing to do." I've seen this firsthand—we had a "no prima donnas" rule on my team, and for ten years straight, we never missed a single goal. If you're hiring or building a team, stop looking for the best players and start looking for the best people. That mindset shift will change everything.//Welcome to Repeatable Revenue, hosted by strategic growth advisor , Ray J. Week 12 is in the books! The guys are back. Jon got to sit back and enjoy a stress-free weekend of football while his Dolphins rested on their bye week. Schif's Falcons continue the roller coaster of torture that gives him the false hope that he definitely doesn't want in his life right now. But the good news is, the NFL delivered in week 12. There were plenty of close games all around the league. There were multiple overtime games as teams fought all the way to the whistle all weekend. Some teams established themselves as a true force to be reckoned with (Hi Patriots!) while one player looks like the runaway MVP candidate (Hi Matthew Stafford!) But is his amazing season aided by some cyborg technology? Is Tom Brady allowed to say the N-Word on national TV? Are the Bears overly underestimated by this podcast, or have they only beaten mediocre to bad teams with bad quarterbacks? Will Jon have to wait for the next generation of Rollinses to enjoy his team being successful? On this episode of Bone to Pick, Robert Kelly and Paul Virzi spiral from a simple commute argument into a full-blown rant-fest about the weirdest people among us: tiny ladies walking two identical monster dogs, serial "get-up" offenders at games and Broadway shows, dudes sleeping face-down with their asses in the air, and psychos who clap at the end of movies like the actors can hear them. Between Bobby's emergency bathroom break, talk of cloned Tom Brady dogs, and their startup idea "Rent a Man" to keep chronic stander-uppers in line, the guys somehow still make room for razor-sharp fan bones and a killer video bone about Gen Z crying at work. It's chaotic, hysterical, and painfully relatable—packed with sports-fan etiquette, dog-owner delusion, generational culture wars, and the kind of unfiltered honesty only two veteran comedians can get away with. This episode discusses various Thanksgiving practices, ranging from non-traditional holiday meals, such as having only sides or seafood like crab and shrimp, to celebrity favorites like Tom Brady's grandma's biscuits, and the happiness associated with decorating for Christmas as early as November 1st. The main segments feature an emotional listener's dilemma about his girlfriend, who volunteers extensively cleaning and folding clothes but won't clean their shared ADU unless she gets a ring, alongside a powerful announcement detailing the Neighborhood Nip Foundation and Think Watts Foundation's first annual turkey drive, where they plan to give away 5,000 turkeys. Send us a textIn this episode of Brewstilled, I'm recapping week 12 for the 2025 NFL season in the House of The Lombardi. For week 12 we got a good set of games. We saw comebacks and devastating defeats. The Ravens continue to fight for their season as they defeated the Jets. The Detroit Lions won against the New York Giants in overtime, but does such a close win raise red flags about the Lions? The Jaguars defeated the Cardinals as they continue their playoff push. Can the Jaguars win the AFC top seed for the playoffs? The Raiders lost to the Browns, but Tom Bradys reported comments on the Notre Dame Quarterback raised some questions about the Raiders future at the Quarterback position. The Falcons won against the Saints as Kirk Cousins will likely be their QB for the rest of the season. The Cowboys won in an epic comeback against the Eagles for what was an emotional win. For Tampa Bay they lost to the Rams and with Baker Mayfield's shoulder injury Tampa's season could be over. As for the Rams, they're now on top of the NFC conference and it could stay that way. I'll discuss it all here on Brewstilled with a Winter Ale from Stormbreaker Brewing as the beer pairing.

On this episode of Best of the Bus, the boys were joined by the one and only Leonard “Playoff Lenny” Fournette for what turned into one of the funniest and most chaotic pods ever recorded on the bus. But it wasn’t all laughs — Lenny opened up about real moments from his NFL journey, giving us one of the most well-rounded, entertaining episodes of that year. The Fournette interview kicked off with Lenny immediately revisiting his infamous fight with Jeffery Simmons at Titans practice, explaining exactly what went down. He then addressed the offseason weight rumors before diving into the unmatched football talent pipeline that comes out of New Orleans. Lenny opened up about getting cut from Jacksonville, shared what it was like asking for his release from Tampa Bay, and even gave an update on Tom Brady — all while sprinkling in some wild LSU fight stories from back in the day. Things got even funnier during Tier Talk as the Boys debated the best fast-food breakfasts, and Lenny wrapped up the episode by discussing his friendship with Antonio Brown and answering the age-old question: was he a better college running back than Derrick Henry? Big hugs, tiny kisses — this one was an all-timer.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Harry is described by Search Engine Watch as a dominant recruiter in client side multichannel, the in multi-channel e-commerce space. He is an executive recruiter for marketing and eCommerce. He has been interviewed by success magazine and he has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, marketing, Sherpas, Great Minds in Marketing series, Businessweek, USA, TODAY.com, Internet Retailer, and many more. He has closed dozens of manager, director, VP and C-level ecommerce searches for some of the following companies. A&E television. Adidas American signature brands. Ashford. Com. Backcountry. Com. Boot barn. Com Columbia Sportswear. And many, many more. So welcome to the podcast, Harry.Harry 00:00:48 Thank you so much. Great to be here, Harry.Josh 00:00:50 I think what's interesting there, you mentioned, you know, you have a small firm, right? You're well experienced. Your results speak for themselves. If people go check out your LinkedIn profile, there's raving reviews of people that have worked with Harry.Josh 00:01:04 so, Harry 150, you know, companies are going to apply to kind of hire your services. What what are you looking for is you kind of determine what are the 50 you're going to work work with. What's the difference between those that you say no to versus the ones that you say yes to and why?Harry 00:01:22 Sure. It's a great question. well, so when people pitch us on a deal, so they pitch me into Alan and it's a little bit like if you've ever seen a concept pitched on Shark Tank, it's a little bit like that. Alan and I are very particular about the deals that we take, and I think I learned this watching entourage back in the, you know, 2000, 2008 through 12 or something that in Hollywood, the richest actors aren't the richest actors because they're the best actors. They're the richest actors because they get the best scripts. It's a lot like that as an e-commerce recruiter. So we like searches that can be closed on the back of a single story, right? So the brand, the you know, the client, they know what their business is about and who their business is for and what their unique selling proposition is.Harry 00:02:20 So why should anyone do business with them versus any option available to them? including doing nothing. we look for the underlying economics of the client's business. So do we understand how they make money? Do they understand how they make money? Do they understand how they're going to make money in the future? We tend to take a good hard look, at things like size and scope of a 12 month file. We'll look at things like average order value. We'll look at things like recurring revenue and order frequency. We'll look at, what it takes to actually bring that concept toe to life. You know, the purpose and values and viewpoint of the brand, and we'll look at a variety of different factors to try and determine whether our audience, which is the top 3% of people in the e-commerce industry. I mean, 97% of the candidates that watch this podcast aren't going to they're not we wouldn't represent them on a deal anyway because we're out there looking for load bearing walls. I mean, this sounds super salesy, but the fact of the matter is, when people come to me and Alan, they expect us to be in the organizational transformation business, right? You come to us looking for a Steph Curry, a Michael Jordan, a Tom Brady.Harry 00:03:41 That's that. And it is like being an agent in Hollywood and the best candidates in the industry, the people who are capable of plugging and playing and being a load bearing wall in our client's business, they want to make sure that they can do reputation enhancing work. That's really what it boils down to. And that means that in terms of the search, the client has the budget, the authority, the need, the timeline and the hiring process to knock good candidates in versus knock them out. And, the business has favorable underlying economics that the client has clarity and ability and resolve, you know, commitment towards e-com. And those are the things, honestly, that you need for an a player to do reputation enhancing work in your business.Josh 00:04:30 Yeah, I love the, the strategy that or the analogy that you made there with, you know, hiring like the Michael Jordan's or Steph Curry's right. If you think about that. You know, as a business owner. Right. If you want to attract a Michael Jordan or a Steph Curry.Josh 00:04:46 Right. If you're an NBA owner, you've got to have a good team. Right. And you've got to have a good vision and say, hey, here's the teammates that you'd be working alongside. ...
