We each have a unique way of how we want to give and receive love. The people in our lives also have their own way to give and receive love. In order to feel the love that is being given to you, you will need to understand how the other person operates. When you are in a relationship, you can have communication around the way you need them to express love and in return you can change the way you show you love the way that the other person needs it. Everyone needs a good reminder. We all set reminders for work, to do lists, grocery lists, chores.. but what about reminders of who we are and what we are capable of? Lots of people teach about affirmations, but usually these tend to be so broad the meaning and power get lost in the process. What is the "in between" phase? This phase is the time when you are letting go the old and taking steps towards something new. Whenever we make a change in our life, we don't step right into the results. We usually have to let go of something first, and trust that our desire will work out. When you are waiting for the results, and you don't know when the change will happen -- it is hard to wait it out. This is where doubt tries to sneak in to break your flow and revert you back to the old ways and patterns. In this phase you will need to have consistency and faith. Priorities and goals go hand in hand. When you have a goal, your priority should be aligned with that goal. When you shift your priority, your goals should fall. You wont get anywhere if you have opposing priorities and goals. For example: If you are wanting to prioritize sleep and your goal is massive productivity, both are great but these two don't necessarily fit together. In order to be productive you will need sleep and if you are prioritizing sleep you can still get things done. When you are making choices, having this priority and goal combination will make it difficult for you to clearly see what the best choice is for you. You want to approach change knowing yourself, even your triggers, so that you can further take care of yourself in the process. Emotions will always come up during the process of change. You will find a deeper sense of control and confidence when you are able to anticipate your needs and help yourself through the emotional dips that happen. Our minds are driven by patterns. You can watch the patterns of your mind and start to notice who you really are when you are experiencing change. Be sure to detach from this meaning as well, it is JUST information. If you don't know your patterns, the best place to start truly is your body. The body doesn't lie, the mind will play tricks on you. The body can show you your own patterns, behaviors, and beliefs. When you connect to a strong why, it will empower you to hang in there when the going gets tough. It gives you a reason to make a tough choice that doesn't feel good. The results are sometimes very far away. It takes time to overcome and achieve things, so you need something else to help get you through. For example, if I am going back to school - the degree is the goal -- not the motivation. The motivation needs to be more immediate so it helps you in the moments when it is tough to study. The part of me that is coming full circle and showing myself how smart and determined I am is what is pushing me forward in the moments today. The overcoming of something that I have felt insecure about is giving me the confidence and motivating me to do more. The pivotal moment is never the choice at the beginning of the process. The pivotal moment is the moment you go "all in" with the commitment and consistency of your choice. There is a moment when you are in momentum, you are living with confidence, and life is aligned. Usually when you are making a choice, there is some area of life that you are unhappy in. Therefore, the alignment comes AFTER the choices have been made. Anger can be a positive influence on your behavior. We can use the anger we feel when we align it with the vibration of passion. People tend to fear the experience of lower vibration feelings. When you are afraid of your emotions, your emotions are in control of you and not the other way around. So many people post on social media that they want "positive vibes only" or are only looking for "positive people" to comment or post. The funny thing is, people who understand motivation and the process of change are very comfortable in the lower vibrations. These people don't dwell in those vibrations however, they are empowered to utilize these vibrations to get them moving towards their goals. You need to reframe what you want, by looking at where you are willing to get uncomfortable in today. Here is where you know what you are ready to work towards next. The magic isn't in the plan, it is in the willingness to complete the plan. The effort is required, and not everyone is mentally prepared for the amount of work that is required to achieve their dreams. Don't be surprised, expect the process of change to challenge you. If you keep consistent, the process of being uncomfortable will continue to get easier. Things go wrong in life. We are in constant conversation looking for feedback in our choices, thoughts, and feelings. When you have lived a life full of pain, any little moment of something going wrong feels like a mistake. This is where the belief pops up in our mind that: "it just not be meant to be." Life will always have obstacles that you will need to overcome. Healthy minds understand that obstacles are just obstacles and don't define our destiny. When you have a past full of unhealed pain or trauma, the perceptions are going to be skewed and the truth of the situation will be harder to see. In pain, we often look for excuses, and our beliefs come forward to bring relief to our experience. This is why we say: Relief is not the definition of happiness. Relief is relief. The tendency in many of is to want change in every area of our life at the same time. Typically the more overwhelmed you are, the more you try to over compensate and accomplish more at once in order to "make up" for lost time. We all want the results of change immediately, which leads to feeling overwhelmed. Don't look at the things you want, but rather look at the choices you have made. Take a look at the 3 biggest choices you have made in 2019. Now look at the results of those choices. Think about the consequences of those choices stepping into this new year. There can be both positive and negative consequences of our actions. Typically your choices have a theme. Your desires won't but your choices will. Why do we start and stop all of the time? If you have unhealed trauma or are triggered in your past painful experienced, you actually have two versions of yourself. Current self: Desires results and change (I would like to lose weight, pay off debt, start dating again) Wounded self: Looking to always protect (goes into isolation, self sabotage behavior, and hiding) There are two separate agendas within yourself that compete against each other. When things get triggered and safety gets poked, your behavior reverts back to the old habits and patterns. It will be helpful for you to realize that there are two different sides of you that are going to cause the start and stop pattern. Yes you can heal from trauma - if you are willing to. Results are dependent on one thing -- ACTION. You have to be willing to do the work, but if you do the reward will be healing and triumph. You can't remove memories or experiences, but what heals is your reaction and perspective on them. Your pain and experiences don't define you. You can adopt a mindset and lifestyle of resilience. The human experience is to overcome challenges and hard situations. This is how we grow confidence, happiness, and grow. Pain makes you feel behind. Most people don't understand the effort and time behind reaching results and overcoming obstacles in their life. If you have had a painful past or have experienced trauma, sometimes this can make you feel behind and feel as though something has been taken from you. It is not that you are a “crappy person” and aren't happy for other people, it's merely triggering the belief that you are behind and things get taken from you. A lot of people seek help to reach their goals, but usually want to go around the key element that is influencing the behaviors and patterns that keep them stuck. No one wants a label, but if we look at the information that labels bring us in a neutral way, we can see the steps necessary to lift the blocks in our life. You can't avoid therapy and jump into coaching to work on success if there are certain behaviors holding you back. You don't have to take on a diagnosis as your identify, but if you have something that your behavior is impacted by, it is essential for you to explore the information that comes along with the label or diagnosis in a detached way to see the tools that can help you.
