Do things have to be just right? Or maybe you want things to be done your way, right away? If so, you may struggle with perfectionism. You wouldn't be alone in that confession, since many of us are in the same boat. There is a lot that accompanies perfectionism and performanicsm. The need for control can rob us of so many things. The need to be perfect and always get things perfect can make you feel like you are drowning in quicksand with a weight tied to your ankles, but you can be free from it. Join Tiffany Jo Baker and author and missionary Rachel Jobe, as they share about their journeys of freedom from perfectionism. Listen in for:· How perfectionism can be overcome · What we should be working towards that isn't perfection· Why God wants you to release control so you can be free Favorite Quotes:"My value was not in my performance." - Rachel Jobe "Perfectionism is a cheap counterfeit to true excellence." - Rachel Jobe"Excellence comes from living out of the right life source and abiding in the vine." - Rachel Jobe Favorite Scriptures:"Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things, there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23 Find out about Rachel Jobe's new book "Let Go!" and all the things she and her husband have going on in ministry here: https://www.jimandrachel.org *If you're looking for perfectly polished people or podcasts, this isn't for you. I could not be more excited to continue our big week of programming with the fantastic Molly Fletcher, who is a podcaster, entrepreneur, speaker, and former sports agent, described as “the female Jerry Maguire” by CNN and ESPN. She is also the founder of The Molly Fletcher Company and, when she was working as a sports agent, she represented athletes, coaches, and broadcasters ranging from Tom Izzo to Doc Rivers, Erin Andrews, Billy Donovan, Joe Theismann, and more. She is a former athlete herself, having played varsity tennis at Michigan State. Molly was one of the first female sports agents, and during her almost two-decade career, she negotiated over $500 million in contracts and represented over 300 of sports' biggest names, including the aforementioned. These days, she's one of the most booked female speakers globally, and her TED Talk “Secrets of a Champion Mindset” has more than 1 million views. Her work has been featured everywhere from InStyle to Sports Illustrated, Forbes, Fast Company, CNN, and ESPN, and her latest book, Dynamic Drive, is a No. 1 USA Today national bestseller. Speaking of, today we're chatting with Molly about her book Dynamic Drive: The Purpose-Fueled Formula for Sustainable Success, which came out last September 3; she's also written a number of other books, including 2011's The Business of Being the Best: Inside the World of Go-Getters and Game Changers, 2013's The 5 Best Tools to Find Your Dream Career, 2014's A Winner's Guide to Negotiating: How Conversation Gets Deals Done, 2017's Fearless at Work, and 2020's The Energy Clock: 3 Simple Steps to Create a Life Full of Energy — and Live Your Best Every Day. Molly also hosts one of my favorite podcasts, Game Changers, which I can't get enough of. Dynamic Drive is Molly's latest work, and today on the show we talk about what dynamic drive is and how its heartbeat is purpose; she shares seven keys to unlock our dynamic drive, and she talks to us about how we are in a complacency epidemic and how to step out of our comfort zone and into our stretch zones. We also talk about, as the subtitle alludes to, sustainable success — not a quick fix, momentary, flash in the pan success, but success that lasts and lasts. Success to Molly is about so much more than achieving a goal or checking a box — it's about who we become as people in the process. I enjoyed learning from her so much. Hope is often dismissed as fluffy sentiment, but is actually a powerhouse for transformation—especially in the workplace. Unlike optimism, which passively assumes everything will turn out fine, hope is active, intentional, and rooted in the belief that our actions can shape the future. It's the antidote to despair, the spark that turns possibility into reality. As Brene Brown reminds us, hope isn't a fleeting emotion; it's a cognitive process. It counters the suffocating weight of hopelessness, which arises from negative thought patterns and self-blame. Instead, hope is a skill—one that can be learned and harnessed to drive individual and organizational success. Psychologist C. Rick Snyder's research defines hope as the ability to create pathways to goals and summon the motivation to pursue them. This dynamic combo of "willpower" and "waypower" sets hopeful people apart, making them more effective problem-solvers and leaders. Rebecca Solnit takes it a step further: hope thrives in uncertainty. It acknowledges the unknown but embraces the idea that our actions matter—even if the outcome remains unknown. Optimists may wait passively for better days, but hopeful individuals roll up their sleeves and get to work. History is full of hopeful changemakers whose influence often became clearest after their time. In the workplace, hope is a game-changer. Studies show hopeful employees outperform their peers, producing more creative solutions and tackling challenges with grit. Hope ignites virtuous cycles: workers who feel supported develop stronger waypower, creating a ripple effect of collaboration and resilience. Organizations with shared visions of hopeful futures—whether it's making breakthroughs, changing lives, or improving margins—fuel collective motivation and perseverance. Leaders play a vital role in cultivating hope. Here's how they can turn hope into strategy: Set Shared Goals: Align teams around meaningful, values-driven missions. Empower Teams: Give people agency over their work. Celebrate Progress: Highlight wins, big and small, to reinforce a sense of control and accomplishment. Hope isn't naïve or impractical; it's a deliberate belief in action. It builds connections, creativity, and growth. By anchoring strategies in hope, leaders can steer their organizations through uncertainty toward brighter horizons. Hope doesn't just dream of a better future—it equips us to build one. There is an age-old agenda to steal, kill and destroy. It started to be seen way back in Genesis and has continued throughout time. Although it has been masqueraded to look different ways, at its roots it has always had the same goals and we have all been affected by it. Many of its efforts have been in an attempt to devalue human life. One way that has played out is through abortion. We are surrounded by people, both men and women, who have been carrying deep wounds from the choice to abort. Listen today as Tiffany Jo Baker speaks with Melissa Heiland of Beautiful Feet International. Melissa shares some beautiful ways they come alongside those that find themselves pregnant, scared, confused, and hurting in order to bring healing and hope even in the most remote and lonely places of the world. Have you been praying for a long time for a promise of God to be fulfilled in your life? It is so easy to get worried or weary, but it doesn't have to be that way! Tiffany Jo Baker talks with international ministry founder, Blog and Podcast Host, Caroline Harries, as she shares her story of believing for babies for 12 years and they dive into what NOT to do when you are standing for a miracle. Listen in for: Why not to share everything with everyone How to stay out of striving mode What to focus on to not get side-tracked How to live in the waiting period Favorite Quote: “I have learned to receive praise and criticism from my inner-circle, not strangers.” – Caroline Harries “That's part of the enemy's ploy - to get us so focused on those good things, those God things, so that they become an idol and take our eyes from The Giver to the gift.” – Tiffany Jo Baker Favorite Verses: “If Abraham, by what he did for God, got God to approve him, he could certainly have taken credit for it. But the story we're given is a God-story, not an Abraham-story. What we read in Scripture is, “Abraham entered into what God was doing for him, and that was the turning point. He trusted God to set him right instead of trying to be right on his own.” – Romans 4:2-3 Message Be sure to check out all the things Caroline Harries has going on at Moms in the Making, In Due Time and A Cup Full of Hope Podcast here.
