There is a lot of misinformation spread all over the internet around losing weight and being healthy. Looking back at my weight loss journey that I started in 2014 I have had three weight loss phases as I like to call them. 1st January 2024 I started number three and really wanted to progress forward losing some of the weight I have gained back from retiring from 1:1 personal training and moving to a more sedentary job online weight loss coaching. Hunger is a negative emotion. My philosophy has always been too coach weight loss in a healthy and sustainable fashion. Basically the complete opposite of 99.9% FAD diets. The base of healthy and sustainable weight loss, in my honest opinion, is having a healthy and sustainable calorie allowance that puts you into a calorie deficit. Calories are king and the only way to lose body fat is to consume less calories than we burn. There are two essentials needed to create that calorie allowance. When I started my journey in 2014 I wanted to lose weight in a totally different way. A way that I had never tried before. The first time I was referred to a GP regarding my weight some 30 plus years ago I still remember what GP telling me and my mum I needed to go on a calorie control diet. I became a personal trainer in May 2018. Since then I have worked with over a 1000 clients in various ways and a common trend I have noticed is as people get older their weight increases. Obesity, certainly in the UK, has become an epidemic. Yet in the grand scheme of things just a short amount of time ago in the Uk it wasn't an issue at all. So what has happened.
