Sporterna som vill bli accepterade av den stora riksidrottsfamiljen och bli medlemmar i RF. Först ut är cheerleading. Cheerleading har sitt ursprung i USA och var till en början en form av hejarklack vid andra idrottsevenemang. Utövarna var då nästan uteslutande killar. Från starten på 1860-talet har cheerleading utvecklats till en egen idrottsgren med årliga stora internationella mästerskap. Sedan 1980-talet utövas cheerleading som tävlingsinriktad sport i Sverige och här finns numera över 10 000 aktiva tjejer, och 78 killar, fördelade på drygt 50 föreningar. Ett tävlingsprogram i cheerleading är två och en halv minut långt och är en kombination av akrobatik, lyft, mänskliga pyramider, volter, hopp, dans och ramsor. Det krävs stor koordination och fysisk styrka. USA har genom åren dominerat sporten men noterbart är att Finland just nu är regerande världsmästare, i den klass som kallas All-Girl, efter att på senaste VM för första gången besegrat USA.
