If you’ve ever tried to get ice cream at McDonald’s, there’s a good chance you couldn’t because the ice cream machine was out-of-order. Even more frustratingly, these machines can't be easily fixed by McDonald’s employees because the error codes are secret, and can only be read by a repair person from the company that makes the machine. The reason why McDonald's doesn't just supply its franchises with properly working ice cream machines is a conspiracy between two companies that goes very deep. ALSO: Craig joins to discuss his time working at McDonald's and all the pickles he ate in the basement.SOURCES: Andy Greenberg @ Wired: https://www.wired.com/story/they-hacked-mcdonalds-ice-cream-makers-started-cold-war/EMAIL: Webcrawlerspod@gmail.comVOICEMAIL: 626-604-6262DISCORD: https://discord.com/invite/VNGJnHrFOLLOW: Twitter / Instagram / Reddit / FacebookPATREON: HEREMERCH: https://webcrawlerspod.com Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/webcrawlers.
