Full Shownotes: BenGreenfieldLife.com/bluelighttruth In this episode, Matt Maruca, CEO and co-founder of Ra Optics, dives deep into the science and practical realities of blue light, circadian health, and optimizing your environment for better sleep and longevity. We tackle the nuances of blue light exposure from sunlight versus artificial sources, break down how proper blue light-blocking glasses can support melatonin production and overall wellness, and bust common myths—including those from recent documentaries and reviews. Along the way, Matt shares updates on the latest lens technology, why not all blue blockers are created equal, and the future of lighting and color therapy for health. Matt Maruca is the founder & CEO of Ra Optics, the leader in premium blue light protection eyewear. Matt founded Ra Optics after a decade-long journey to improve his own chronic health issues as a child and teenager. As he looked further, he came across the science of mitochondria, circadian rhythms, and how light influences these factors—playing an essential, but overlooked, role in our health and well-being. He became fascinated by entrepreneurship, and decided that he could use the in-formation that helped him to help others. Matt also created The Light Diet, a diet that directly addresses the root of the modern, chronic disease epidemic and mitochondrial dysfunction. Matt now spends his time traveling the world, studying and teaching about the relevance of light in human health cycles with a focus on reversing this situation, as well as integrating science with ancient Eastern wisdom. A blinking light isn't always the real problem. We open with the haunting lesson of Eastern Airlines Flight 401, where a 75-cent bulb stole the crew's attention and the plane slipped out of safe hands. That same pattern plays out in our calendars and conversations: the urgent blinks, our focus drifts, and the truly important gets crowded out.    From there we pivot to a timeless moment in Luke 10 with Mary and Martha. One chooses presence, the other productivity; both matter, but order matters more. We talk through how “fly the plane” becomes a daily rule: keep control of the essentials before you chase the noise. With simple, real-world habits—naming one primary outcome, guarding a short focus block, using a parking lot list for stray tasks, and practicing a short morning pause for prayer or reflection—we show how to anchor your day in what lasts.    You'll hear why attention is your most valuable asset, how to handle interruptions without losing momentum, and why presence before performance changes not just your to-do list but your relationships and peace of mind. The goal isn't to work less; it's to work with wisdom, strength, and clarity. When we listen first and act from that place, even busy days feel lighter and more directed. If today's message helps you refocus on what matters, share it with a friend who needs a steady start. Marriage is one of God’s most beautiful gifts—but it can also be one of the most challenging. Even couples who love each other deeply and want to honor God can find themselves stuck in the same conversations, the same misunderstandings, and the same frustrations, wondering why nothing seems to change. That’s why I’m so excited to share this week’s episode of The Love Offering Podcast with you. I’m joined by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs to talk about his book Lightbulb Moments in Marriage: 12 Biblical Perspectives for Successful and Satisfied Couples. In our conversation, Dr. Eggerichs shares what he calls “aha” moments—simple, biblically grounded truths that have helped thousands of couples finally see what they were missing. These aren’t complicated formulas or trendy advice. They’re Scripture-shaped insights that often lead couples to say, “Why didn’t we see this sooner?” We talk about:• Why ignorance—not lack of love—is often what fuels conflict• How one small shift in perspective can break long-standing cycles• The difference between trying harder and understanding better• What it looks like to respond with responsibility, not react out of frustration• Letting God’s Word—not culture—define love, respect, and commitment Whether you’ve been married a few months or many decades, this conversation is full of wisdom, grace, and hope. Sometimes, it really does take just one lightbulb moment to bring clarity, peace, and renewal. I pray this episode encourages you to see your marriage—and your spouse—through fresh eyes. In college he switched from business to communications, finally thriving because his professors could explain the “why,” and that questioning mindset later made corporate tech sales miserable—especially after a big commission dispute—so he left to build apps, move into product management, and create content/books. His biggest takeaways are to build habits by identifying as the person who does them (not the one who avoids them), define health as being congruent with reality and present in the moment, and choose belief because “nothing I knew wasn't going to happen has ever happened.”

Bruce Sellery talks with personal finance expert and author Preet Banerjee about the “light bulb moment” that changed his money life as a teenager: automatic savings and the astonishing power of compound interest. Preet walks through simple examples that show why starting early matters more than saving perfectly, how small increases in your contributions can more than double your nest egg, and why high-interest credit card debt is compounding working against you. If you've ever wondered whether those online calculators are “too good to be true,” this segment will flip the switch. Connect with Preet on Instagram.

In this mind-bending episode of The Box of Oddities, Jethro dives into Robert Temple's electrifying theory that the universe might actually be alive—and trying to talk to us. Could plasma—the same substance that fills stars, powers lightning, and glows in neon lights—be a living intelligence? Temple suggests that the mysterious orbs, pillars of fire, and UFO-like lights seen throughout history might all be manifestations of the same cosmic consciousness reaching out across the galaxy. Kat and Jethro explore the parallels between deep-space structures and the human brain, the eerie beauty of ball lightning, and how ancient prophets may have witnessed plasma phenomena long before science had a name for it. Then, Kat switches gears to set fire to your curiosity—literally—by investigating the latest in fire science. From sound-wave extinguishers to DARPA's plasma-bending experiments, she reveals how modern tech is rethinking the way we fight flames. Plus, we discover what happens when your upstairs neighbor doubles as a weight-lifting thunder god, why Kat owns a crystal vase for questionable reasons, and how chickens got arms for Christmas. This Box contains the following ingredients: Robert Temple, plasma intelligence, ball lightning, crop circles, afterlife physics, intelligent universe, sound-wave fire extinguisher, DARPA fire suppression, Box of Oddities podcast, Kat and Jethro, paranormal science, weird science, cosmic consciousness.
