We had the pleasure of hosting USA Today Bestselling Author Sharon M. Peterson. If you're a fan of witty romantic comedies, an aspiring writer looking for a shot of inspiration, or anyone navigating the creative process with ADHD, this is an interview you absolutely don't want to miss.Sharon's journey to becoming a beloved rom-com author is nothing short of extraordinary. Imagine receiving 107 rejections for your first novel. Most of us would have packed it in. Not Sharon. Her story is a powerful testament to the fact that perseverance truly is “90% of it.”Why We Need Laughter (Especially Now.)As a former middle school teacher, Sharon found her calling in humor. She explained that she writes romantic comedies because, in her words, “laughter is hopeful.” In a world that often feels heavy, her books offer a delightful escape—a chance to find joy and cope with life's stresses through heartwarming stories and genuine belly laughs. The Unspoken Chapter: Writing with ADHD.One of the most candid and impactful parts of our conversation revolved around Sharon's adult diagnosis of ADHD. This realization was a turning point, shedding light on why external deadlines were always crucial for her focus and productivity. She also highlighted the often-misunderstood representation of ADHD, especially in women, and shared her own “aha!” moment connecting with others who navigate similar challenges. This discussion wasn't just personal; it was packed with actionable advice. Sharon generously shared her top tips for maintaining focus and boosting productivity—strategies that resonate deeply whether you have ADHD or simply juggle a busy life:* The Brain Dump Before Bed: A simple yet powerful technique to clear your mind and reduce anxiety by writing down all your next-day tasks before you sleep.* The 20-Minute Alarm: Turn writing into a game! Set a timer for 20 minutes and challenge yourself to beat your previous word count. It's a fantastic dopamine boost.* Minimize Distractions: Utilize focus modes on your word processor, eliminate distracting tabs, and even turn off the word count display to stay immersed in your story.Diving into The Fix Up.We also shone a spotlight on Sharon's latest novel, The Fix Up. This “grumpy sunshine” forced-proximity rom-com introduces us to Ellie, a single mom, and Gil, a secret grandson, who are forced to co-inherit a property in charming Two Hearts, Texas.Sharon revealed a personal connection to Ellie—her protagonist also has adult-diagnosed ADHD, making this book a particularly challenging but rewarding one to write. And for those who love practical life hacks, you'll be fascinated by Ellie's unique Sticky-Note System for managing her “chaotic brain”—a system divided into “Now,” “Soon,” and “In the Future” tasks.Beyond the Books: Poodles, Success, and What's Next. From her hilarious confession about a lifelong poodle phobia (it's a “fight or flight” response, she assures us!) to her heartfelt definition of success—making people smile and laugh—Sharon offered a glimpse into the person behind the pages. And for those eagerly awaiting more, she teased an exciting new book in the Two Hearts series, featuring the character Iris! This interview was truly a masterclass in resilience, a deep dive into the craft of writing, and a touching conversation about embracing one's unique brain. Whether you're a seasoned author or just starting your writing journey, there's so much wisdom to gain from Sharon M. Peterson.Listen to the full podcast or watch the interview here:Don't forget to check out Sharon M. Sermon on Luke 9:51–56
A Tale of Two Hearts Genesis 4:1-10
We see a profound contrast between the heart of Jonah and the heart of God. Jonah wanted mercy for himself, but judgment for those he did not like. While it is sometimes tempting to think like Jonah, as followers of Jesus we need to have His heart of compassion for the lost. Scripture References: Jonah 4, Jonah 3:10, Jonah 3:4, 2 Peter 3:9, Ezekiel 18:23, Matthew 9:36, Titus 3:3-5, James 1:20, Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 1:21 Pastor: Rob Orr
When Jesus was asked, "Lord, will only a few people be saved?" He responded, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate." This homily looks at the heart-to-heart communion Jesus invites us into...

After sitting down for a nice meal with her husband, a woman becomes violently ill and has to be hospitalized. But the problem isn't her stomach – it's her heart. Making things even stranger, her husband ends up in the ER too. And if their doctors can't find the common denominator between their cases… both husband and wife could end up dead. Guest Bio: "Hi, my name is Katie Inlay. I grew up in a small town in Iowa, surrounded by the warmth of community, midwest values and the vastness of open skies. At just 17, I found myself drawn into a religious organization called the Alliance of the Two Hearts, which promised a path to enlightenment, vocational calling, healing and connection. After dedicating years to this organization and their teachings, I came to realize that it was a misleading cult. My journey to break free wasn't just about escaping; it was a profound struggle for my identity and existence. Today, I want to share a fragment of that part of my story with you.You see, I didn't merely seek to escape; I fought to truly live—to embrace life in all its complexity and beauty. And that's the essence of what I want to convey. No matter where you are in your journey, no matter how lost or overwhelmed you may feel, you are not alone. There is immense power in your narrative, healing in your voice, and liberation waiting just beyond your fears. This is my story, yes, but it's also a reflection of yours. We all face moments when we feel disconnected from who we are. I promise you—just as I found my way back, you can too. You can reclaim the life that is rightfully yours, and you can tap into the faith that has quietly been there, waiting for your return.Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you. May you find the courage to persevere and the strength to rise above whatever challenges life has placed in your path. With love- Katie Inlay"Read Katie's blog here:https://www.katieinlay.com/blogIf you would like to support my channel please consider:http://buymeacoffee.com/truththath7Thank you for all of your support and for helping to make this channel a reality :)

Send us a textActs 10:9-23The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. And there came a voice to him: “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.” But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.” This happened three times, and the thing was taken up at once to heaven. Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision that he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood at the gate and called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was lodging there. And while Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are looking for you. Rise and go down and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them.” And Peter went down to the men and said, “I am the one you are looking for. What is the reason for your coming?” And they said, “Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.” So he invited them in to be his guests.Support the show

Do you live with two hearts? One devoted to Friday prayers and sacred rituals—while the other remains silent in the face of global injustice? In this powerful episode, the speaker uncovers the spiritual split afflicting the Ummah: public displays of worship alongside quiet submission to man-made systems. The Qur'an reminds us—Allah did not place two hearts in any man. So why do we divide ours between tawheed and secularism? From Gaza to Sudan, Kashmir to Chicago, oppression roars—yet the voice of the Ummah remains faint.Join the Sheikh as he shatters the illusion that silence is wisdom and makes a bold call that must extend beyond the masjid into every corner of our lives.

Judas and Mary (of Bethany): Two Hearts Before the Mystery of Christ The Readings and Homily reflect on the profound spiritual themes leading up to Holy Week, . . . . . . beginning with the “Suffering Servant” songs from the Book of Isaiah. It emphasizes the divine calling and mission of the servant, who acts with God's authority yet reveals God's power through humility and suffering . . . not through miracles or displays of strength. This foreshadowing prepares believers for the mystery of Good Friday, where Jesus . . . God in the flesh . . . embraces suffering to redeem the world. An Act of Love and Devotion The Homily then shifts to the Gospel scene in Bethany, where Mary (of Bethany) anoints Jesus with costly perfume. Her act is one of love, devotion, and prophetic insight into Jesus' coming Passion. Judas objects, claiming the perfume should've been sold to help the poor, but his motives are exposed as self-serving. The Homily warns that words can hide wicked intentions and calls out the tendency to misuse faith for personal gain—something Judas exemplifies. Contrasting Judas with Mary , the Homily encourages believers to adopt Mary's posture of heartfelt reverence and presence with Christ, especially during Holy Week and the Eucharist. The faithful are urged not to be distracted by lesser concerns when Christ is present but to attend to Him with gratitude, love, and worship. Listen to this Meditation Media. This week, Mark and Janay share their four-year fertility journey through PCOS, azoospermia, and multiple treatment pivots. Their story is one of breathtaking resilience—holding each other through crushing disappointments only to rise again with undiminished love. Each failed procedure has tested their spirits but strengthened their bond. After watching their hopes rise and fall through a failed TESA, a briefly victorious micro-TESE, countless injections, gruelling egg retrievals, and the heartbreak of unsuccessful transfers, they've never lost hope. Their love story continues as they've completed the donor process and face 2025 with renewed courage. Their conviction remains unshaken: Mark will be an incredible father, Janay is meant to be a mother, and they're not done fighting for their family. Join us for an honest conversation about resilience, redefining family creation, and keeping hope alive when the path to parenthood takes unexpected turns.

The book of James says that a double minded man is unstable in all his ways. We can see this in the life of Samson. He was unstable with God, his family, and his friends.

In western Christianity it is very easy to be led by behavior modification rather than the Lord's changing of your heart. We commonly think behavior change leads to life change. This misconception causes us to place band-aid's on internal bleeding, which does us no good. Proverbs 4:20-27 shows us the importance of the heart, as it directly impacts our thoughts, words, and actions; it shows us heart change that leads to life change.
None of us can go in two directions at once. Samson was a double-minded man, but God allowed him to rule as a judge over Israel. In this message from Judges 15, Pastor Lutzer reflects on three portraits of Samson as an avenger, a peacemaker, and a victor. God was moving Samson from double mindedness to single-mindedness.
