It's been...one week since our last episode, but we're back anyways! This XXL episode contains the Golden Shower Goliath, the Flavor of Skavor, and Campbell gets Krang'd by his cat, Noomi! But more importanty, we review the recent Warhammer Skulls event, and author, historian, and all-around cool dude Joe Kassabian returns to the program to talk about his new book, The Highlands Burn. It's actually a good one, chock full of battle reports, phobby updates, vidya games, and a frank and interesting conversation with a dude we think is pretty great. Don't miss it! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Welcome back, friendos! The Badcast has returned with yet another installment of two guys talk about some bullshit! The fellas are back from the not-so-frozen North, with a XXXL-sized convention recap episode! They talk Ozyman-deez-nuts, choose increivers or reivursors, the Outpost of Arrogance, and shout out the Swisseners! If you understood any of that, congratulations on your brain worms. Also, the bois talk through the Adepticon preview, a bunch fo 40k, Trench Crusade, and Blood Bowl games. You can't miss it! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Honesty time! Dan had a bunch of hilarious notes for this episode, but the power went out and he hadn't saved his .txt! What a buffoon! Anyways, the fellas talk Adepticon plans, Dan fails a quiz, and they create the greatest and most serendipitous mutant of all time. Gripping stuff! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com

Hey, we don't like it either, but for some reason, the fellas had two different discussions about poop in this show. They really need to get some new material, as the old stuff is startin' to stink! Well, well, well. Look who's back in town. It's Campbell, after his sojourn to the golf resort town of Palm Springs, CA! And he's got a whole lot of games to talk about. Also, the bois break down the new year's preview stream, and Dan gets audibly sleepy. Topics include: crocodile gundee, hooping swawks, and the return of the crystal pistol. In what can only be described as truly unfortunate news, some shit went down with the NOVA Open late last year, and the bois are here to talk about it. We've got a corroborated and accurate timeline of events, and interview with the creator of the piece that kicked this whole thing off, and Campbell and Dan weigh in with analysis and future plans. It's not the most fun anyone's ever had podcasting, but it's necessary work. A special holiday message from your friends at the 40k Badcast. Merry Christmas!
It is time, once again, to look deep into your (Kia) soul, and ask: Why did so many peoples' houses smell like ham in the 1990s? What was the deal with that? Anyways, the eejits are back with yet another bad cast, and this time they're talking the Nissan MacroVan; applesauce and medicine; Colonel Ephraim's Anal Flamethrower; and hard booch AKA fart tea. Also they return to the Primaris Pizza Parlor in episode 3: la Bellissima Terza! Meravigliosa! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
For once, the title of this episode isn't a reference to piss, but instead Campbell's moral fortitude, which is...lacking. But don't worry, there is at least one piss-based bit in the show. We gotta hit those quotas, after all. Other terrible bits include: the giga-cow, pustin' makes me feel good, and the dreaded "griculture" bit. No, none of it makes any sense to me, either. Good luck! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Damn, player! I didn't know you liked to get wet! And by wet I mean "enjoy a podcast from your friends at the 40k Badcast!" You know that's right! This episode has it all: Dave Mustaine, Mave Dustaine, Davis Mustavis, and the guy from Mergerderth! That not enough to hook you? Just wait, there's more: Sicarius math, golden showers, and the Paul Blart Cosplay Society! This podcast truly has it all, and you can, too, for one easy payment of 2 hours of your life. No refunds! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Oh yes, folks. Much like a bad penny, the jaw-jackin' jabronis have once again returned to fill your head with some truly dumbass shit. This time around, the fuckos talk "Lou Dante", Campbell's finger cymbals, and who wants a taste of the Blood Angels' jungle juice. Also, they ask the question, who do you want as your 40k primary care physician? Get it while it's hot, horndogs! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Hello, everyone! The jabronis are back with yet another choice cut of warhammer-themed grab-ass! This time Campbell paints the town gulten-free in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Dan spends truly stupid money on food in Nottingham, England! Also, Dan is 40 now. That sucks! Additionally, the lads touch on making a choice to win the game, the Emperor's Dan-pion, and Dan kills a mosquito LIVE ON AIR! Can't miss this one! Or maybe you can, no one is keeping score! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Watch out, friends, we've got a hot one comin' in! Joe Kassabian, author, host of the Lions Led by Donkeys podcast and Midwest Icon, joins Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum here for a chat about Joe's Warhammer journey so far, why 40k tanks would be immediately obliterated on a modern battlefield, and which flavor of Faygo is the best! Other topics include the wide, wide lord of sports; the patron sait of rickety shitboxes; and a viscous, opaline fluid! It's a can't miss episode, gang! Big thanks to Joe for joining us! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Another year, another NOVA Open! Join the fellas as they return to where it all began (kinda) in 2016 as they recap yet another trip to Washington D.C.'s biggest tabletop gaming event of the year! Hear them recap 18 (!) games of 40k, 3 games of ASOIAF, and a couple of rousing rounds of jousting. Will Campbell win any GT games? How many games against Knights will Dan have to play? Tune in to find out! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Did we plan for our 169th episode to be live in front of a "sell-out" (the attendees are sellouts) crowd at NOVA Open 2025? No! But here we are, hot, horny, and ready to answer your burning questions. Join us for a evening of jokes, japes, and jeers, and not necessarily in that order. Big thanks to everyone who showed up, it truly was a special night! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Look, gang, Dan has a lot of painting to do before NOVA, so we're not going to be able to do a lot of jokes in this description. Too bad! Here's some shit from the episode: "milk day", chaplains giving good skull, and the realization that Space Wolf players are all piss fetishists. Sorry wolfies! It's canon now! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Campbell went to Tacoma, WA for this year's GW Tacoma Open. Did he bring any of the Tcoma Aroma back with him?! You be the judge! Also, we finally find out what regional accent the Raven Guard posses. You'll be surprised, kid! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
We've said many times that "this is the most unhinged episode yet!" Ther veracity of this statement cannot be proven. But what can be proven is that Dan spends a solid three and one half minutes cry-laughing at the name "Barkin Doggins". Sure, they also talk about Warhammer or some shit, but for real, it's almost four minutes of a middle-aged man losing his shit at his own stupid joke. Podcasting! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Unfortunately the touch of Nurgle is upon us and Dan is sick as hell while posting this, so expect fewer yuks this time around. "Aww shucks, where's my yuks?" is something you could say if you wanted. But only if you wanted. Anyways here are some topics: An AP3 shot right into my pavussy Being pretty sure about that tonsure And an actually helpful segment on movement! Enjoy! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
After a short, moving-induced hiatus, the bois are back, and this time the break has driven them both completely nuts! This has got to be the most unhinged Badcast yet, with the fellas starting with 9/11 and going from there. Topics include: A free stabber Testes Sprite Foot Guy Brain Christian RPGs Come for the (ostensibly) 40k, stay for the complete madness. It's the Badcast, bay-bee! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Spring is in the air, and so are the bois, back with another bad cast! This time they yak about such wide-rangiing topics as: - the marmer's farket - stag scrotes - a wurst starburst - being hard wired to be hard for the wire Also, the fellas are sad about cool Space Wolves, and mad about LED headlights. Something really needs to be done about those fuckin' headlights, gang. It's ridiculous out there. https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com

The Independent Characters - A Warhammer 40k Podcast | Radio
Episode 256 of The Independent Characters is a long one... and we even reigned it in! We had a lot to talk about here. We revisit episode 72, where we looked deep into the history and current issues of White Dwarf. In this episode we bridge the gap between episode 72 and now, in an episode we titled White Dwarf: Now and Again. Nearly 12 years have passed since our last coverage of this topic and it was due for a refresh as White Dwarf itself seems to have gone through many refreshes. To help us with this discussion, we are joined by Campbell from the 40k Badcast again. He always brings some great insight. We hope you enjoy Episode 256... and are here for the four hour episode! Do you like fried cheese curds? If yes, great! If no, please pay attention to this podcast, where Campbell will spend 90+ minutes attempting to convince you that they're a gift from the gods. Also he went to some sort of convention? For Warhammer? Whatever, let's get back to those creamy, creamy curds... https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Halleluja, horndogs! The fantastic friars are back with another ave-some (see what we did there?) show! This time we give off big "Timon and Pumbaa" energy, have a frank talk about terrain, and Campbell previews Adepticon 2025! And Dan prepares for yet another weekend of yard work and child care! Woohoo! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Hark, fair horndogs! The Badcast idiots have returned from Campbell's real vacation and Dan's fake one with a brand new bucket of ear-slop for you to pour directly into your skull! In it, the fellas touch on: posting pickies to the dickes, the sad-iator shit-your-pants-er, and something called "jorts Rasputin". Additionally, two dudes who defintiely watch basketball do a whole segment on basketball for some reason. I guess it's March?! Whatever! Enjoy, or don't! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Aww yeah, Horndogs, it's that time again! The fellas have returned once more to bring you topics such as: an in-depth analysis of the Ginuwine hit "Pony" The Glade Plug-In Task Force Nissan Altima Prime Also, Campbell goes hard into Guard, and regrettably, blue season is over. What does any of it mean?! You'll just have to listen to find out! Or don't! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
Aww yeah, nerds. It's about to get sloppy! So let the sloppy papis themselves give it to ya audiophile-style. I was gonna write "sonic-style" but then I remembered the hedgehog! Whew! Close one! Tune in this fortnight for topics such as the most divorced energy in 40k, elaborate gooning setups and who's got 'em, and Mad Mek Bubby Gutz, a character name that really tickled Dan's pickle. Also the bois break down the LVO reveals only about 2 weeks late! We got 'em right where we want 'em! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
The Badcast bois are back! They've struggled through the intervening weeks and have appeared, vagrant-like, on the outskirts of town: haggard, starved, and scabby. Will you: A) let them sleep in the barn for just one night, or (turn to page 75) B) will you tell them to beat feet to the next town? (turn to page 101) Topics this time include: little green shitheads, the big, scary moon, horny for dornies, and Dan is starting to think that Commissar Yarrick might actually be dead. Maybe. The Independent Characters - A Warhammer 40k Podcast | Radio
The end of 2024 brings us around to our annual Warhammer 40k Year in Review Episode. Typically we go down an entire list of all releases for the year and weigh in on our opinions of them. However, this year we have a lot to celebrate here and so we are going to change it up a little bit. Not only is it the end of 2024 and the beginning of a new year, it is the 250th Episode of The Independent Characters Podcast. And although we took a couple of breaks on the way here, we have indeed made it to this milestone episode. However, for us it isn't about quantity so much as it is about quality. So we will take some time to discuss a little bit of the history of the show, where we see it going, and what is going on currently. Then, instead of boiling 2024 down to a list of releases by Games Workshop, we will discuss our various favorites of the year in depth. What was our favorite game played of the year? Who was our favorite opponent? What was our favorite release? All of this and more will be discussed as we meander through our opening episode of 2025! And while we don't know exactly how much longer we will have Campbell on our staff before he heads back to the 40k Badcast, we have him now. We hope you enjoy Episode 250! They're baaaaaaaack! The fellas return after a baby-induced hiatus and they're as incoherent as ever! Topics include Brad's big deck, the raw-dog rockafeller, and skamp and circumskanks. Does all of that sound like the ravings of a madman? Well, Dan has a new baby at home, so he probably qualifies. Episode 246 of The Independent Characters brings onto the roster Campbell McLaughlin of The 40k Badcast fame to join us! While his regular Podcast partner Dan takes some much deserved paternity leave, Campbell will be joining The Independent Characters army roster on a regular basis. We couldn't ask for a better partner! In this episode, Carl and Campbell talk about the ways that Campaigns, in pretty much any system, fail. We discuss what types of speedbumps campaigns often run into, and how those become dead end streets. Then we take a look at what strategies you can apply to ensure that you campaign is a successful one! Even with some choice edits, this episode rolls in at about two and a half hours. But we think this is a solid topic of discussion and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it! And yes, that is new intro music you are hearing at the beginning of the episode. We are going to stick with it for awhile, at least as long as Campbell is guest starring on the show, and see how you folks adapt to it! Be sure to let us know your feedback! In what can only be described as an shocking revelation, the fellas actually spend the vast majority of this episode talking about Warhammer, it's community, and existing in this dumb hobby! It really is something else! They cover: - Pretending to be a Space Marine online with your friends - Which primarch would make the best line cook - How your playstyle changes how you interact with the game Enjoy! https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
It's the most wonderful time of the year: the fellas are reporting back from their trip to NOVA Open 2024! This double-wide episode will cover 9-ish rounds of a 40k GT, 3 rounds of a Soi friendly, and let's just say several rounds of drinks at the bar! Once again the bois have returned to their ancestral homeland: the NOVA Open Tabletop Gaming Convention in beautiful Washington, DC! For whatever reason, we've been allowed to host another got dang live show, and here it is! The day after we recorded it, no less! We talk: The preview that was more of a re-view A girthy, live WMDK segment And the most salient debate of our era, wet or dry undead? Also, Dan gets grossed out by terrible novelty beer, and Campbell reveals a terrible secret hidden somewhere in his dad's house. Are there several mass "fuck you, Baltimore" chants? Well, well, well. If it isn't a teaser that should have been posted last week. But someone (Dan) forgot about it. What an idiot. Can't trust that guy with anything. Anyways, the bois will indeed be back at NOVA this year, so tune in to figure out what's what!
Oh hell yeah, the Badcast bois are back! And on time this go-round! They've got sidequests, hobby PRE-gress, and an interview with dead author, Cormac McCarthy! An incredible get! Are his books good? Have you ever asked the question, "What Warhammer 40,000 character should run for president of the United States of America?" No? Smart, probably. But the Badcast idiots are either too brave or two stupid to avoid this particular pitfall! More topics include rawdoggin' the warp, the jobber jerk-off, red flags fly fasta, iron on every gob and a squip in every pot, and, last but not least, the jism schism. Any of that do anything for ya? No? Yeah. We get it. https://www.patreon.com/40kBadcast https://40kbadcast.bigcartel.com/ contact@40kbadcast.com
We could have named this episode "If I ain't truckin', I'm fuckin'" but we didn't because Rob from Goonhammer would get mad at us. And then the big fat checks would stop arriving every Friday. That's right, we make big money off of our partnership with Goonhammer! Huge money! A frankly INDECENT amount of money! We're also paid shills for Games Workshop!
