The end of 2024 brings us around to our annual Warhammer 40k Year in Review Episode. Typically we go down an entire list of all releases for the year and weigh in on our opinions of them. However, this year we have a lot to celebrate here and so we are going to change it up a little bit. Not only is it the end of 2024 and the beginning of a new year, it is the 250th Episode of The Independent Characters Podcast. And although we took a couple of breaks on the way here, we have indeed made it to this milestone episode. However, for us it isn't about quantity so much as it is about quality. So we will take some time to discuss a little bit of the history of the show, where we see it going, and what is going on currently. Then, instead of boiling 2024 down to a list of releases by Games Workshop, we will discuss our various favorites of the year in depth. What was our favorite game played of the year? Who was our favorite opponent? What was our favorite release? All of this and more will be discussed as we meander through our opening episode of 2025! And while we don't know exactly how much longer we will have Campbell on our staff before he heads back to the 40k Badcast, we have him now. We hope you enjoy Episode 250! Episode 246 of The Independent Characters brings onto the roster Campbell McLaughlin of The 40k Badcast fame to join us! While his regular Podcast partner Dan takes some much deserved paternity leave, Campbell will be joining The Independent Characters army roster on a regular basis. We couldn't ask for a better partner! In this episode, Carl and Campbell talk about the ways that Campaigns, in pretty much any system, fail. We discuss what types of speedbumps campaigns often run into, and how those become dead end streets. Then we take a look at what strategies you can apply to ensure that you campaign is a successful one! Even with some choice edits, this episode rolls in at about two and a half hours. But we think this is a solid topic of discussion and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it!

Episode 235 of The Independent Characters takes us, primarily, on a review and recounting of Adepticon from Josh and Jody's point of view. Originally we had expected to include a bunch of information about the various game stores and events Carl went to when on vacation in Australia, but things didn't quite work out as planned on that front. If you ARE interested in the Australia Trip, Carl will discuss that as bonus content for our Patreon members of all levels. However, Josh and Jody go into detail about Adepticon, what events they attended and provide some advice for those going in a long discussion. We hope you enjoy! Today's word of the day is ‘open dialogue' as in a discussion as in listening as having good intentions as in Kyrie Irving has now apologized for everything that's happened in the past week. Why now? Because he was suspended without pay. That's why. Earlier in the day he had another press session and refused to apologize. Then the team suspended him. Then his apology came. So where do the Nets go from here? (33:30) Review: A Love Song. (35:10) NPPOD. Everyone have a great weekend. Do something exciting. Eat that leftover candy. Be great! A study of ALL that the Bible DOES and DOES NOT teach about celestial angels, covering their constitution and character, origin and potential corruption, capabilities and characteristics, and other issues related to the spiritual realm.17 includes:Q&A and Final Discussion on Angels and the Celestial Realm Part 1: The Creation of Angels, the Original Unity of the Angels, the Motives for a Corruption in the Celestial Host, The Origins of Evil, Can Celestial Angels still Fall?, God's Mysterious Ways and more STRONG CAUTIONARY NOTE: Due to the subject being covered, some of these classes on angels could be potentially offensive (or at least controversial) to those who see the issue of the Devil as something or someone other than a celestial being. Please take that into consideration when following these classes, as it is my intent to be open and direct on my position on this subject, but it is NOT my intent to be offensive in doing so to those who believe differently who I love deeply.
