Drop us a note about the podcast. A Bible can feel like a private book until you read how it was treated as a public necessity. We start with Psalm 119, where God's words are “sweeter than honey” and steady enough to light a path, then we press that question into real life: what happens to a person, a marriage, or a nation when Scripture stops being the standard and becomes background noise? We move through Ephesians 5:22-33 and talk plainly about Christian marriage roles, sacrificial love, respect, and why popular marriage advice collapses when it contradicts God's design. Then we read John 18 and sit with the moment Jesus is arrested: He doesn't hide, He doesn't posture, and He doesn't let chaos dictate His obedience. Alongside Proverbs 16, the thread is clear: we can make plans, but the Lord determines our steps, so faith has to be more than talk. From there, we turn to American history and civic courage, quoting Thomas Paine's American Crisis and his warning about “summer soldiers” and “sunshine patriots.” We also dig into the Aitken Bible of 1782 and the documented ways early U.S. Congress supported Bible access during Revolutionary War shortages. If you care about Christian patriotism, the Bible in early America, biblical worldview, and how faith shapes public life, this conversation connects the dots in a way that's hard to ignore.Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who loves Scripture and history, and leave a review so more people can find the show. Grob zusammengefasst.
A recent episode of the VinePair podcast, titled "Mezcal's Continued Search for Mainstream Success,” feels to me like it was riddled with inaccuracies. And for some reason, it also feels to me like it stands in stark contrast to the recently released 2025 numbers from Comercam, the largest of the bodies certifying Mezcal. So I asked one of my favorite numbers gabbers, Marissa Paragano, to gab about that in this gabfest episode of Agave Road Trip! Agave Road Trip is a critically acclaimed, award-winning podcast that helps gringx bartenders better understand agave, agave spirits, and rural Mexico. This episode is hosted by Lou Bank with special guest Marissa Paragano (AKA the eye-rolling, not-easily-offended, kind-of-5'2” Tequila Encyclopedia) of The TequiLadies Show and The Tequila That Cares Foundation. Episode Notes Marissa is a board member of Tequila That Cares, a philanthropic organization bringing positive change to the agave spirits industry! Listen to The VinePair Podcast: “Mezcal's Continued Search for Mainstream Success.” And do also check out The Cocktail College Podcast: “Mezcal's Untold Past, Soaring Present, and Fragile Future”! Read Comercam's 2026 report, covering Mezcal (and uncertified agave spirits) commercial numbers for 2025. Shout outs this episode to the national parks, Kegel pelvic-floor exercises, GameStop, Auburn, Alabama, Jelly Babies, and on-premise and off-premise popcorn sales!
U.S. food spending by consumers, businesses, and Government entities increased to $2.51 trillion in 2025 from an inflation-adjusted $1.56 trillion in 1997, and farmer awareness of biological crop products remains high, and new research suggests the market is entering a more mature phase with confidence rising.

The proposal for a single six-year presidential term in Nigeria is once again dominating national conversations, sparking heated debate across political circles, governance experts, and social media platforms. At the heart of the discussion is a major question: Should Nigeria consider a six-year single term presidency as part of constitutional reform, or is it a dangerous shift that could weaken democratic accountability? The idea, which has resurfaced amid ongoing Nigeria constitutional amendment debates, touches on key issues such as electoral reform in Nigeria, presidential tenure limits, governance stability, and democratic accountability in Africa's largest democracy.Supporters say a single-term presidency in Nigeria could reduce the pressure of re-election politics, lower election costs, and allow leaders to focus fully on governance. Critics, however, warn it could reduce voter power, weaken checks and balances, and reshape Nigeria's democratic structure in ways that may not serve public interest. And so today on Nigeria Daily, we ask the big question trending across Nigerian politics, 2026 political news, constitutional reform Nigeria, and election reform discussions:
Across Nigeria's political landscape, party primaries are often described as the foundation of democracy within political parties. They determine who gets the ticket, who flies the party's flag, and ultimately who appears before voters on election day.But what happens when influential politicians lose those primaries? Should party leaders step in to help them find a way back, or should the verdict of delegates remain final?Recent developments within the APC have sparked fresh debate about the sanctity of party primaries, the powers of party leadership, and the future of internal democracy in Nigeria.Today on Nigeria Daily, we ask: When party primaries speak, should political leaders intervene?

Gratitude is easy when life is calm. It gets harder when the news is ugly, people are hurting, and it feels like the world is coming apart. We start with Psalm 100, a psalm of thanksgiving that doesn't ask for a polite smile. It commands a response: shout, worship, sing, acknowledge, and enter God's presence with thanks because His love and faithfulness endure. Then we ask the uncomfortable question that follows from real worship: do we repent and do we praise, or do we drift into silence and excuses? From there we get personal and practical. We pray for listeners who feel anxious, depressed, alone, or brokenhearted, and we pray for leaders in the pulpit and in government to rule with wisdom and fear of God. We also pull a clear marriage lesson from Song of Solomon: you don't “belong” to your phone, your entertainment, or your social circle the way you belong to your spouse. That covenant mindset cuts through modern marriage pressure and calls us back to loyalty, affection, and priority. The centerpiece is Luke 24 and the Road to Emmaus, where grief and confusion meet a risen Jesus who walks alongside His followers before they recognize Him. We trace how Jesus opens the Scriptures, confronts doubt, and even eats broiled fish as a grounded, physical witness to the resurrection. Along the way, we touch on cultural warning signs like attacks on churches, honor courage through a Medal of Honor story, and revisit Thomas Jefferson's own words about God's providence and guidance. If you want a Christian podcast episode that ties Scripture, repentance, gratitude, marriage, leadership, and cultural reality into one thread, press play. Festive Friday is back with some classic elevator entrapment! ABOUT STUCK ON CHRISTMAS The competition for a major promotion is heating up between Synclaire and James, two ambitious rivals whose professional antagonism has spilled over into playful (and not-so-playful) pranks. But when a sudden malfunction leaves them both stranded in the company elevator on Christmas Eve, their race for the top becomes a desperate struggle for freedom. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR STUCK ON CHRISTMAS November 4, 2025 | CW CAST & CREW OF STUCK ON CHRISTMAS Director: Johnnard Harper Cast: April Dillard as Synclaire Antrone Harris as James BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS This dude is out to dinner with his girlfriend and he proposes. She says no. We then get a really long intro of James and Sinclair waking up in the morning. He is in a very good mood. Today is the big day at work. He's getting that promotion baby! Sinclair shows up late for work, like always. But she also really wants that promotion. Their boss comes in. She brings everyone in who is up for the promotion and tells them who the top two are. It's James and Sinclair. She calls them both into her office and tells them it's crunch time. Whoever is most likable at the Christmas party will get that promotion. They make a wager that whoever loses has to be the other person's assistant. This leads to prank time such as putting sticky notes on the bottom of him and his best friend's mugs that makes it look like they're in love, spiking their tacos with laxatives. But they get them back with...FART SPRAY!!! They all go home to clean up and Sinclair realizes that she still needs to shop for her secret Santa who is...uh oh, JAMES! The party happens. It's a good time. James goes to leave and ends up getting on the elevator at the same time as Sinclair. And the elevator ends up getting stuck! They end up getting mutually turned on by each other when they have to take off their jackets & sweaters because it's hot. They drink, they play games, and they end up kissssingggggg. They end up getting out I think and they have, let's say romantic dreams, about each other. But uh oh there's a knock on her door and... it's her ex! AHHHH! The next day or so at work, she gets the promotion but he's not mad. Cut to the beginning of the movie with the proposal again. It's James proposing to Sinclair. She says no. Then she says I'm just kidding and says yes. Watch the show on Youtube - www.deckthehallmark.com/youtubeInterested in advertising on the show? There's a graph in the latest report from the Distilled Spirits Council of the US that shows that for the first time in recent history, we're drinking more spirits than we are either beer or wine. What does this mean, exactly? Or does it mean anything? And why is it that everyone I know will drink wine but wine is, and always has been, the runt of this litter?Agave Road Trip is a critically acclaimed, award-winning podcast that helps gringx bartenders better understand agave, agave spirits, and rural Mexico. Alex Wagner is back to speak with a former guest in Hungary about lessons Americans might take from the election defeat of Viktor Orbán that shocked the world. On the last episode of Trumpland, the team travelled to Budapest to try and learn why Donald Trump and American conservatives were so fixated on authoritarian leader Viktor Orbán's style of “illiberal democracy” as a possible blueprint for governance in the US. Wagner talked to Hungarians about how Orban had been so successful in consolidating power, how it had impacted everyday people, and what lessons Americans might learn about those who had been spent years resisting. Given Orban's monumental election defeat, we came back for a special bonus episode to speak with some of the Hungarians we met last year about what life has been like since election day and what comparisons might be made to political life right here in the US. Alex speaks with Hungarian MP Márton Tompos, who had previously led the opposition Momentum Party. First, Trump recently put out his own A.I. generated image of himself as a religious leader hovering over someone healing them- supposedly to lash back at the Pope. Yet he is still coming across as egotistical. Some say it's outright blasphmey. There have been other examples of Trump being equated with Jesus. Then, Baba Venga- this mysterious woman seemed to predict coming world events. Was it coincidence or just speculation? It seems there is a growing convergence of prophecy, geopolitics, and conspiracy culture. 2026 is increasingly being framed as a “pivot year” or “threshold year”. Connections are being made between aliens, global governance and economic crisis. It would be easy to match what Baba said in hindsight.

It's Festive Friday with a powerful family drama! ABOUT GOODBYE JUNE Follows a group of fractured siblings who must come together under sudden and trying circumstances. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR GOODBYE JUNE December 24, 2025 | Netflix CAST & CREW OF GOODBYE JUNE Director: Kate Winslet Writer: Joe Anders Cast: Helen Mirren as June Timothy Spall as Bernie Johnny Flynn as Connor Kate Winslet as Julia Andrea Riseborough as Molly Toni Collette as Helen BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS It's Christmastime, and we meet the Cheshire family — June and Bernie, and their son Connor — in what first feels like a quiet holiday morning. That calm is shattered when Connor discovers his mother collapsed on the kitchen floor. After a frantic call to emergency services, June is rushed to the hospital, and Connor gathers his sisters — Julia, Molly, and Helen — bringing the fractured family back under one roof. The news is devastating: June doesn't have much time left. As the reality sets in, old wounds and unresolved tensions rise to the surface. Connor feels stuck and directionless, still living at home. Helen has distanced herself from the family, both physically and emotionally, building a life abroad rooted in spirituality. Julia and Molly haven't spoken in years, their unresolved conflict having split the family in two. At the center is Bernie, stoic and emotionally reserved, struggling to express what he's feeling as he faces losing his wife. As June's condition worsens, she finds moments of joy in being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Helen, who is expecting her first child, quietly grieves that her baby will never know their grandmother. June's greatest wish becomes clear: she wants her daughters, Julia and Molly, to reconcile. One evening, as snow falls outside, June asks Julia for permission to let go. Through tears, Julia gives it. June shares a final, poetic hope — that she might return as the snow. With the help of her nurse Angel, she gets her two daughters that are fighting and finally confront their past and begin to heal. Later, Connor challenges his father to open up and actually deal with the fact that his wife is dying. Bernie doesn't handle it great but ends up showing his love by singing karoke and finally having a heart to heart with Connor. Knowing June won't make it to Christmas Day, the family comes together to celebrate early, putting on a nativity play in her honor. In the middle of that performance, surrounded by the people she loves most, June passes away. From the wings, Angeli watches as the family begins to process their grief — together. One year later, the Cheshires gather again at Christmas. Helen has welcomed her baby, and Connor has found love with Angeli. As they raise a toast to June, her voice returns through a letter she wrote to her unborn grandchild, reflecting on a life made rich simply by family. As the children run to the window to watch the snow fall, the family finds peace in her memory — and in the love she left behind.
