Instead, she's sending a girl named Mia...someone who has a massive crush on Jeff since they were kids. The problem is Jeff can't stand Mia. So he's really mad about it so he drives to his buddy Allen's house. He has a request for him - will you work at my hotel for 2 weeks and work alongside her - run interference so I don't have to be around her? He pushes back because he doesn't want to take 2 weeks off of work but ultimately gives in. He starts to like her and they end up going on a date. One date leads to another date which leads to a kiss. Jeff starts getting jealous - he wants her to keep liking him even though he's not interested because he's a psycho. So he texts her to go to a movie and she says sure and then asks if Allen is coming. So he says yes. But at the movie, he tries to hold her hand. She's not interested. She holds Allen's hand instead. The next day, Allen tells Mia the truth about how he was only hired to run interference which makes her mad. He goes after her and tells her he loves her and they kiss. Jeff is forced to move on and says hi to the next girl who walks into the hotel. Who knows what'll happen next. He wants her to take over the role of Candy Cane Santa. She goes for a walk, thinks about it, SHE'S IN! She and Grandma go shopping and deliver their first batch of gifts, including an oven! The next day, the people gather around, excited to see that Secret Santa is happening! But there's a reporter in town named Adrian who is there to try to figure out who the Secret Santa is. They start hanging out though cuz he's hot and she keeps having to come up with excuses for why certain things are happening because she doesn't want him to find out it's her. Unfortunately, he pieces it together and captures it on video. He gives her a chance to come clean and she asks him to please not publish the article. It would ruin the tradition. He does publish the article, but not outing her as the Secret Santa. Flash forward a year and they're still together, she's opening up a Secret Santa office to expand into other cities and her and Adrian are gonna get married! Whoever is on the other line is shooting his shot and trying to get back with her which she agrees to.Richard comes over and breaks up with Marissa. She's heartbroken. But off to Texas she goes to be with her family.And Marissa is shocked when her sister shows up with her boyfriend....RICHARD!!! That's right.It's an absolute mess. So she called up her gay best friend to have him come and act like her boyfriend to make Richard mad.We find out that Marissa & Kerry are actually step sisters - Marissa's mom married Kerry's dad shortly after her dad passed away and Marissa has always been pretty mad about it.One night, Marissa and Richard are able to talk and he promises that when he was with her, he and Kerry were on a break.Richard is like next in line in his father's doctor practice thing and Kerry is always like you need to go ahead and make that official but Marissa is always like you do what you wanna do.Well, one night, everything blows up. It comes out that Richard isn't going to follow in his dad's footsteps and Kerry isn't mad and he's like Marissa always supported me. So now everyone knows. And everyone is fighting. While that's happening, Alicia and Kyle are also fighting because she thinks he's cheating on her with a girl who is texting him. Turns out, it's just his therapist checking up on him because he apparently has yet to tell his wife that he has ED. And now the entire family knows. It's a mess.Ultimately, Richard scrams, the sisters make up, Kerry quits her job because she doesn't want her family to sell the church that brings them so much joy, Alicia and Kyle make up, and everyone has a merry Christmas.
