This week Aidan and Noah look into one of the most prolific Real Housewives of New York: Bethenny Frankel. They start off by taking a step back to where it all began for Bethenny on reality television - Martha Stewart's The Apprentice. The hosts discuss how Frankel's personality and quick wit helped her stand out on the show, leading to her being cast on The Real Housewives of New York. From there, the hosts focus on Frankel's numerous failed spinoff shows, including Bethenny Getting Married?, Bethenny Ever After, and Bethenny & Fredrik. They also discuss her more recent endeavors, such as Money Court and A Big Shot with Bethenny on HBOMax, which failed to gain the traction that her previous shows had. Aidan and Noah examine the reasons behind Frankel's lack of success in her spinoffs, including her personality clashes with other cast members and the oversaturation of her brand in the reality television industry. They also explore how her tumultuous personal life may have impacted her professional career. This is a good one notetakers!
Wow Bethenny, Wow. Jess is joined by Ryan Bailey, (So Bad It's Good), for an epic deep dive on Bethenny Ever After (avail on Peacock). We review episodes including Bethenny's 40th Birthday Breakdown, Lost at Sea with Dr. Amador and the series finale. Plus, observations of her #2 Julie, food blogger Nick & try to psychoanalyze what exactly was going on with Jason Hoppy behind the scenes. [39:00] THEN, Jess welcomes Dr. Amador, Bethenny Frankel's therapist on her spinoffs + RHONY season 7. We go deep on the infamous “Lost at Sea” episode in which Dr. Amador took Bethenny & Jason on a sailing trip to Nantucket in which he lost GPS signal and they were stranded at sea for 30 hours. Dr. Amador shares his observations of Jason Hoppy and why he was not surprised at his behavior during the divorce. We also chat about the authenticity of “reality TV therapy” and Dr. Amador sheds light on Bethenny's addiction (or habit) to being seen. IG: @jessxnyc | @sobaditsgoodwithryanbailey

With all of this nostalgia floating around the BravoVerse these days, we couldn't think of a better Bravolebrity to have join us than "Fan Favorite" Julie Plake McMinn. You know Julie Plake, The “Coordinator of Chaos" from the Iconic Bravo shows “Bethenny Getting Married” and “Bethenny Ever After.” Checking in from her home in Pittsburgh, PA, with husband and 3 kids in tow, Julie takes us back to the beginning. She moved to New York City basically overnight on a whim when she got a job offer to work at a series of famed New York City magazines. It was at one of those magazines, Hamptons Magazine, that she met Bethenny Frankel, who was hired to cook a brunch at Julie's boss' house. Julie was sent to be Bethenny’s Sous-chef for the day. In typical Bethenny fashion, Julie was thrown right into the job never having been asked by Bethenny of her qualifications or experience in the kitchen. They bonded. After that brunch, Julie said to Bethenny, (1) you are going to be famous and (2) when you are, call me and I will come work for you. News flash. Bethenny did become famous. Very famous. Another news flash. Julie did end up working for her, as seen on Bethenny’s two blockbuster Bravo shows. Julie takes us on her journey of working for Bethenny during the start, rise and sale of the Skinny Girl Empire. She bestows us with the wisdom she learned from Master B herself, what a typical work day looked like, what it was like to film a hit Bravo TV show, the decision to ultimately leave the B, and what that conversation looked like. Julie was also there for the beginning of Bethenny’s relationship with Jason Hoppy, which we dissect. We chat with Julie about recent developments in Bethenny’s life - a hit Podcast, brand new apprentice style show “Big Shot With Bethenny” and engagement - Paul Bernon we are looking at you, as well as in her own life - new business “The Learning Match” which helps connects parents to the educators they need and ongoing "JPM Branding and Consulting” where she shares the wisdom she learned from the best business man, woman, anything we know, Bethenny Frankel, with the rest of the world!!! Sign us up! Thank you Julie for stopping by and entertaining our many never ending questions on all things B!! Bethenny Frankel wasn’t the first reality TV star but she has used the platform to grow her business and brand better than anyone this side of Donald Trump. In addition to starring on The Real Housewives of New York City and Bethenny Ever After, Frankel has hosted a talk show, written four best-selling books, and founded the Skinnygirl line of cocktails, which she sold to Fortune Brands in 2011. A savvy entrepreneur, Frankel kept the rights to the Skinnygirl name and is expanding it into a number of other product lines, including snacks, appliances, condiments, apparel, and sweeteners. Check out the interview to hear how Frankel stays motivated after hitting it big and deals with the balancing act of being a parent, businesswoman and celebrity. Fans love Frankel for her no-holds-barred style and she definitely delivers in our most ‘unfiltered’ episode yet.
