Esperanza and Irwin discuss the beginnings of the Southampton Summer Colony, inspired by Dr. David Goddard's "Colonizing Southampton". In September of 1863, a young Manhattan physician of means by the name of Theodore Gaillard Thomas went by horse and wagon out to visit the farms and rural villages of Long Island with his wife. The trip lasted many days. The couple spent their first two nights in Babylon staying at a rooming house, then pressed on to Quogue, Southampton, East Hampton and Montauk, finally spending a night out at the lighthouse with the keeper and his family there. During this sojourn, Thomas fell in love with the simple though bucolic communities of eastern Long Island and, after returning to Manhattan, vowed that sometime in the future he would return with some friends with the intention of establishing a summer colony there. He had become charmed by the farmland that went down to the ocean, the single Main Streets with the Presbyterian Church, the blacksmith shops, feed stores and dry goods stores that marked what were essentially old New England Communities. Dr. Thomas is considered to have been the founder of the Southampton Summer Colony as we know it today. Within four years, he had persuaded many others to build there. By 1882, there were 30 summer owners (a dozen “cottages”) where five years earlier there had been none. Two years later, Dr. Thomas and others in that group met in a Fifth Avenue apartment in Manhattan to found what was then called the Southampton Village Improvement Association to “beautify the principal streets” and “see to the removal of nuisances” so as to make Southampton even more attractive to possible future summer residents. As you might have imagined, they soon came into conflict with the local residents of the community—there were about 500 of them, who were enjoying the town as their ancestors had for 200 years before—farming the land, fishing the waters and otherwise engaging successfully in rural activities. Sound familiar?

Tonight's guest, Brian Minnick, is a Sasquatch researcher who has been visiting Camp Hero, in Montauk, New York, since 1988, when he was 11. Camp Hero is a military base that's best known for being the inspiration for the hit show, Stranger Things. A lot of strange things have happened on the grounds, Camp Hero and around them, including Sasquatch activity. In 1981, Camp Hero was decommissioned, and it remained abandoned for 20 years, until it was turned into a state park. It's been said that the base was abandoned due to it being destroyed by a beast that was unleashed when a portal to another dimension was opened, due to a clandestine experiment. Not being one to pass up on an opportunity for adventure, Brian made countless trips to Camp Hero, to explore the grounds and see if he could find any evidence supporting that claim. On tonight's show, not only is he going to talk about the Sasquatch-related experiences he had there, he's also going to talk about the evidence he found that just might support the whispers about a beast being unleashed on the base. The 924 megawatt project, located about 30 miles east of Montauk, around Long Island, faces construction challenges, particularly with monopile foundations. Despite these difficulties, Orsted's CEO, Mad Snipper, reaffirmed the company's commitment to the U. S. market, though project completion has been pushed towards the second half of 2027, Phil. This is a big deal for Orsted. Orsted has been really profitable and a strong company for a long time, but these American projects are a real drag on their bottom line. Phil Totaro: Absolutely. And I think they're, they're keen to get through all these things as quickly as they possibly can and, and also get to a point where they can, you know, have the project mature enough, either in construction or operation, where they can actually get an investor in. Which is what their original plan was with a lot of the utility companies in you know, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York, I suppose with some of the proposed projects. And, and a lot of those utilities decided, you know what, not for us, taking too long, costing too much, and just not our cup of tea. So the quicker they can get this sunrise project done and move on to potentially others because they still have revolution that they're trying to build as well. So Joel Saxum: you Phil Totaro: know, the quicker the better. Joel Saxum: Frustrating thing here, I think on this project from someone who's been watching these in my seat for a long time and knowing what the soil characteristics are out there. These things, these studies have been going on since 2016, 2017 on what the soil conditions are that these monopiles are gonna be driven into. This should not be a problem they're running into now. Now we know that there's been a, it's a weird. It's like this quick, sandy, odd soil. We know that, but we've known it for like eight years. So, they should have come up with a solution for this beforehand. This shouldn't be an impairment that they're taking right now. But, they are, and it's reality. So, they'll have to push through it Allen Hall: to get this thing built in 2027. UK based Aviva Investors has made a 40 million euro investment in CIC, a German renewable energy developer focusing on northern and central Europe. Corina Pataki was born under anomalous circumstances with psychic gifts that brought her to the attention of Romania's intelligence services. This led to her being sent to a camp for gifted children at the Black Sea when only two years old, where negative extraterrestrials interacted with her to exploit and/or control her unique abilities.
