One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible for May 17, 2026. Today marks day 136 in our journey through the Scriptures. Join Speaker A, your Bible reading coach, as we spend time together reflecting on passages from 1 Kings 2, 1 Chronicles 29, Psalm 95, and 2 Thessalonians 1. In this episode, we witness the transition of leadership from David to Solomon, the heartfelt preparations for building the temple, and the richness of praise to God echoed in the Psalms. We also meditate on encouragement from Paul's letter to the Thessalonians, reminding us of God's faithfulness and strength to accomplish all that faith has prompted in us. Alongside these readings, we'll unite in prayer for our lives, our families, and our world, seeking God's guiding presence and peace for the day ahead. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Faith prompts, but his power accomplishes. Today in Second Thessalonians, we hear this beautiful invitation and promise: May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Faith stirs within us dreams, intentions, desires to serve and please God. Yet, as we see in the stories of David and Solomon, it is not by our own strength or wisdom that these things come to pass. David's faith led him to prepare for a house for the Lord, but it was Solomon—his son—who, by God's power, would accomplish it. The accomplishment is not in our striving but in the power of the Son. We are drawn into his life, and we participate with him. Faith is not a solo act; we are joined to Christ, and it is his life in us that brings forth what faith has birthed in our hearts. The Son draws us in, and it is his wisdom, his timing, his strength—not ours—that will carry these things through. Let Christ's power be your hope and confidence today. Trust not just in the promptings of faith, but in the One who is faithful to complete every good work he begins in you. This abiding life—Christ in you—is your hope and your glory, here and now. Lean into his presence, let him accomplish through you all that faith inspires, and rest in the assurance that he will do it. That is the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

May 17th, 2026 Pastor Chad McDonald I was recently watching a show where a man was hired to clean out homes that are overcrowded. As he was cleaning out the home, he looked for anything that might have value. In this episode, they found photos of Magic Johnson playing basketball when he was in high school. The owner of the home had taken the photos but thought nothing of their value and had stored them under his bed in an old shoe box. The photos were then examined by an expert who determined that they were worth thousands. The homeowner was astounded and realized that he probably should have taken better care of them. He was not living in light of their value. Many people treat God like that homeowner treated those pictures. They acknowledge God. They believe He exists, but they are completely unaffected by His value. They believe in God, but they don’t worship Him. They have never recognized His true value and His true worth. True worship is ascribing to God His ultimate worth and living in accordance with it in such a way that your life is transformed. I pray that you will join us this weekend as we look to Psalm 95 and discover true worship. Remember, weekend worship is a Friday decision. For those of you who like a heads up about which psalm we will be studying next…Psalm 120, 121, 122, 127, 130, and finally 139. Read ahead and prepare your heart for worship. See you this weekend! In Christ, Pastor Chad

The Psalms Series "Worship and Warning" (Psalm 95) In Psalm 95, Elder Peter Finch draws us into the full picture of biblical worship. The psalm opens with a call to exuberant, communal singing before a God who is supreme Creator and sovereign Redeemer. But it does not stay there. The second half carries a serious warning: do not let your worship be disconnected from a surrendered heart. Using the wilderness failures of Israel at Meribah and Massah, Elder Peter traces what it looks like when God's people harden their hearts against His voice, and what it costs them. The takeaway is both sobering and freeing. Worship and obedience are not two separate things. They flow from the same source. And today, if you hear His voice, the invitation is still open. From Pastor David Peck | From the sermon series: Psalms of The Savior. The Psalms have much to offer God's people for relating to Him in worship, prayer and instruction. The Psalms also reveal more about our Savior who knew, sang and prayed the Psalms during His first coming. This series is intended to help believers see their Savior more clearly and grow in our worship. The Psalms also afford many opportunities to explain the Gospel and call upon nonbelievers to repent and place their faith in our wonderful Savior.

In this episode we move into the season of Lent, a season of reflection, a season where we come face to face with our own mortality, a season inviting us to realize our full dependence on Jesus. To kick off this season we are going to be working through Psalm 95 together. As we work through this Psalm, we talk about Jesus' invitation to trust His plan and provision in the midst of the journey, in the midst of our own wilderness experiences. Together we identified that when we are in the wilderness, we can choose to either harden our hearts and strive to see ourselves through, or we can recognize our need for dependence on God alone. Though it's not always easy to recognize, Jesus is present in our journey every step of the way, even in our own wilderness experiences.

Welcome to Day 2743 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2743 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 95:1-11 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2743 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand seven hundred forty-three of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title of today's Wisdom-Trek is: The King, The Shepherd, and The Warning – A Trek Through Psalm 95:1-11 Today, we are lacing up our boots to climb a new peak in the Psalter: Psalm Ninety-five. We will cover the entire psalm, verses one through eleven, in the New Living Translation. In our previous trek through Psalm Ninety-four, we stood in the courtroom of the cosmos. We saw God as the Judge of the Earth and the God of Vengeance, dismantling the "throne of destruction" and promising to wipe out the wicked who oppress the innocent. It was a psalm of justice, a cry for the legal intervention of Heaven. Psalm Ninety-five shifts the scene dramatically. We move from the courtroom to the Throne Room, and then to the Wilderness. This psalm serves as the grand entrance hymn to the collection of Royal Psalms that celebrate Yahweh's Kingship. It is a psalm of invitation—an invitation to shout, to bow, and, crucially, to listen. It is structured in two distinct movements: a jubilant call to worship the Supreme King, and a somber, prophetic warning from that same King. It teaches us that true worship is not just about loud songs; it is about a soft heart. So, let us heed the call and approach the Rock of our Salvation. The first segment is: The Call to Cosmic Worship: The King Above All Gods Psalm Ninety-five: verses one through five Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.  For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.  He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.  The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land. The psalmist begins with an imperative, a command to the congregation that bursts with energy: "Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation." We saw in Psalm Ninety-four that God is our "fortress" and "mighty rock" of refuge against the wicked. Now, in response to that protection, the only appropriate reaction is volume. The phrase "shout joyfully" (rûa‘) is the same word used for a war cry or the blast of a trumpet hailing a monarch. We are not mumbling prayers in a corner; we are hailing the Victor. We approach His presence with "thanksgiving" (tôdâ), bringing an offering of gratitude before we even ask for a thing. But why is this enthusiasm required? Verse
