Well, well, well. It has been a minute since we've seen each other, hasn't it? It feels good to be back. And back we are! It's time to get this Spooktacular kicked off right. We're firing things up this year with a Rental King selection that is sure to terrify you. This indie film from earlier this year had all kinds of buzz around it so the Cinemasters are digging in for your Halloween delight. How fortuitous to have Friday the 13th in the middle of a Spooktacular! After a little break (even Cinemasters need a little recovery time here and there) the Rental King and that fella from the North are back at it with a franchise deep cut this time. Adam's pick is Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. As luck would have it, the boys were able to record this episode ON Friday the 13th. It would seem the stars have aligned as Ron and Adam sit through this installment in the series and bring you play by play on the film with interesting bits of trivia and full commentary on all things Jason Voorhees. Mark Webber is an Actor, Director, and Writer. (He is the child of a broken family and grew up under the guardianship of his mum, and the two battled economic hardship. Fast forward to the future), he has appeared in over 40 films as an actor, working with such notable directors as Jim Jarmusch, Todd Solondz, Lynn Shelton, and many more. His first film as a director, "Explicit Ills" won the audience award and best cinematography award. Followed with his second film, “The End Of Love” which was nominated for the grand jury prize. For his third film, "The Ever After" Webber took a big leap into what he sees as the future of independent film and successfully distributed the film himself after it's world premier at the L.A. Film Festival. The film was nominated for the Adam Yauch Visionary award. Trivia fans, come on down! It’s time for another episode featuring one of our absolute favorite things to do and that is test our collective movie knowledge. We are back again with another round of questions for each other to see just how much of a mastery we have on the cinema. As it stands we are tied with one win a piece and a couple of draws under our belt. Hey again there Cinemaster fans. We’re back with a different sort of program in these different kinds of times. In keeping with our updates on the Cinematic State of the Union we figured we would take on a review of the recently released on VOD Warner Brothers animated film “Scoob!” Its the latest iteration of a multi-decade franchise that generations have come to love of four teenage friends and their lovable pup mascot who have hit the big little screen once more. Ron and Adam were both able to take this new release on as it was first released and are giving you their thoughts on it. There may be a spoiler or two about some of the aspects of the film but the review is chock full of all sorts of wonderfulness. We are firmly into the Cinematic desert we never thought we’d find ourselves in and there have been some adjustments in the landscape we’d like to discuss as a living record of our takes on these strange days. First we have to cover the battle of the industries. With Universal Studios recent Video On Demand rental of Trolls World Tour apparently doing as well as it has, it’s opened up a bit of a Pandora’s Box in the movie world. AMC theaters is pushing back with the promise to not show ANY Universal movies in their theaters once things open back up. Who needs who more in the landscape ahead is what’s on everyones’ minds going forward. Will AMC be able to survive by boycotting films like Jurassic World: Dominion or F9, the latest in the Fast and Furious series? Is this a huge overreaction that they’ll have to shamefully walk back the morning after? We’ll discuss all this and much more in the world of VOD going forward. We’ll also take a look at the latest Star Wars news regarding Taika Waititi joining the ranks as the newest director on board to helm a picture in the world after Skywalker. We’re both quite excited at this news and wanted to bring a little positivity to the forefront.
