The Scoundrels talk all things SWGOH w/ Hobnail & YOUNGSKYWALKER
Dumbline heads to 1980s Australia, where drugs are everywhere and everyone wants a piece of the action. Our main guy? A bright, jovial smuggler, a real-life Han Solo type. Unfortunately, he surrounds himself with some of the biggest dummies within 12 parsecs of the Kessel system. His terrible team-building skills eventually come back to bite him in the ass, but not before years of wild, chaotic stories. We know the stories of the heroes of the faith (and their flaws) ... but how much do we know about the stories of those more scandalous characters who appear in the biblical record? Not much, I think. I think it could be helpful (at least I hope it proves to be helpful) to explore their stories.

Trump's latest tariff escalation on China, Mexico, and Canada has earned the Wall Street Journal's bluntest critique yet: “dumbest.” With markets reacting sharply, Wall Street remains the one force that might actually make him reconsider. Plus, Brenda Wineapple, author of Keeping the Faith: How American Democracy Survives Scandals, Scoundrels, and Cynics, joins to discuss a century-old “trial of the century” and its relevance to today's politics. We've returned to the land of human men to read Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. But don't worry, the heroine sh00ts the hero in this book. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this romance classic, we decided to see if this book holds up all these years later. Spoiler alert: some of the language is predictably frustrating (the 90s was a different time), but overall, this book stands the test of time. We're talking top tier enemies to lovers. Also Discussed: the new addition to Veronica's household, doing a deep dive into the Ruby Dixon lexicon, and “who else died this week.” Up Next: Illicit Illustration by E.L. Koslo SOS Novella: Sap & Spile by Vera Valentine What else we're reading: Tales Beneath the Winter Sky (Anthology) by The Distracted Inklings (Lady Kilroy, Amber Thoma, Amber Paige, Veronica Wynne, Roxie Cohen, Rebekah Sinclair) – available until February 15, 2025 and all proceeds go to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Howl You Doin' by Jacklyn Hyde What else we're listening to/watching: Deadliest Catch Know Rogan Experience SHOW INFORMATION: Join the Discord Follow us on Spotify! The Final Episode of Intrepid Scoundrels! Listen Now!(mp3)
Happy anniversary, Firebirds! Seven years ago this week, we launched Fated Mates with our first Episode, "A Wolf Without a Foot," in which we planned a tight 18 episode series, here and gone before you'd know it. Seven years later, we're still here, and we're celebrating by doing the obvious: Talking about Sin! We've taken the seven deadly sins and assigned a great romance novel to each one, and we've dug deep into the dark recesses of our minds, our bookshelves and our psyches to do it. This is a long one (obviously), and full of some real "abandon all hope, ye who enter here" vibes. Thanks for being with us new listeners and longstanding ones...we love you! If you want more romance content, maybe you want to join our Patreon, where you get another episode from us each month, and access to the incredible readers and listeners and brilliant people on the Fated Mates discord! Support us and learn more at fatedmates.net/patreon. Also! We stay phonebanking! Join us this Saturday and next to phonebank with fellow romance lovers. Jen & Sarah are joined by special guests who will knock your socks off! Learn more and register at fatedmates.net/fatedstates. If phonebanking isn't your thing, we're also raising money for downticket house and senate races, because state legislatures may not be sexy, but they sure hold all the power.
