Nathan Simmonds: Welcome to this Sticky Interview with me, Nathan Simmons, Senior Leadership Coach and Trainer for MBM, Making Business Matter, the home of Sticky Learning. And today, I have the great pleasure of interviewing Helene Bejjani, I hope I’m pronouncing this right, I didn’t check this last time, just to make sure. Digging into the depths of creativity and understanding around virtual classrooms, so yes, we’ve experienced some unprecedented times, I’m not sure how many times that works been used across the internet in the last three months. This has really challenged us as trainers, it has really challenged us as L&D professionals, it has really challenged us on a social level of how we connect with each other virtually and physically. And having seen some of the work that Helene’s doing and the environment which in which she works in, what is it, 41 different locations. Was it 5,000 employees across 41 locations, I seem to remember something like this? Helene Bejjani: Yeah, something like that. Nathan Simmonds: That’s a huge spread of people in a huge number of places, it’s not just one or two offices, it’s multiple locations. So I wanted to have a conversation with Helene. I wanted to find out what she does and how she’s coped in these situations. But she’s bringing with her 15 years of empowering people to learn and grow while focusing their work in three key areas, corporate culture, work environment, and leadership and employee development. And her experiences have been previously at Newell Brands as a HR Business Partner, and then more recently as the Head of L&D for Antalis as well. So in this conversation, we’re going to dig into all that, that experience in all these areas and we’re going to be digging into virtual classrooms, getting creative online, and how you use these tools to your advantage in a global arena, such as you do. Firstly, thank you for being here Helene, it’s really appreciated. Helene Bejjani: Thank you Nathan for having me, it’s a pleasure. Nathan Simmonds: First question for me always is, why do you do what you do? Helene Bej

This is the season we dream about all year long! The preseason is turning over to the early season. Bucks are starting to lose their velvet, scrapes are opening up, acorns are falling, and we are frothing at the mouth in anticipation of that first October cold front! Hunting Season is here. It's everything we can muster to just stay out of the woods and let our spots rest knowing that there are big bucks pracing around adorned with new headgear just waiting on us. Let this awesome interview with public land whitetail expert Lucas Cayko (yes, it really is pronounced "Psycho") get you even more hyped up about getting in the stand! We go into great depth with Psycho about different types of access, some unusual calling tactics, satying warm, and rut crazed bucks. To listen to what Psycho has to say, FF to 10:25 In our intro, we discuss our upcoming trip to Colorado in pursuit of elk and adventure. K.C. was blessed with a beautiful bull last year and is hoping to start a yearly tradition of mountain grocery shopping. We also talk about some of our last minute scouting expeditions in light of the approaching deer season. We have implemented some of the tactics discussed in E29 with Zach Ferenbaugh of Midwest Whitetail, specifically how mature bucks use water to their advantage. We hope you enjoy this talk as much as we did. Lucas is one smart dude who has a knack for big bucks. November 2013 This month, with so much happening at Bletchley Park recently, we have to bring you an extended episode. First we grab Hard-Hats & Hi Viz Jackets to join Conservation Architect Janie Price & Site Manager Rob Davies to get an in-depth update on the HLF Restoration of Bletchley Park, from floorboards to granite floors, via the roof. In October Bletchley Park hosted Are You Listening? The event looked at the history of communications. We spoke to members of Milton Keynes Amateur Radio Society, the British Vintage Wireless Society & the Vintage & Military Amateur Radio Society. Also in October Cyber Security Challenge UK & Raytheon held an event called Today, Then and Tomorrow. It looked at the role of women in cyber security, celebrating the Bletchley Park Veterans, leading figures of today & a look into the future. Katherine spoke to Natalie Black of the Cabinet Office, after we found out just what her job title was. We will bring you the rest of this fascinating day in Podcast EXTRA’s – E29 (out on 24/11/13). DURING photosynthetic CO2 fixation, fixed carbon is exported from the chloroplasts in the form of triose phosphate by the chloroplast phosphate translocator, which is the principal polypeptide (E29) from spinach chloroplast envelopes1. We have sequenced this nuclear-coded envelope membrane protein from both spinach and pea chloroplasts2,3. An envelope membrane protein, E30, has been identified as a possible receptor for protein import into pea chloroplasts using an anti-idiotypic antibody approach4–6; antibodies raised against purified E30 inhibited binding and import of proteins into chloroplasts7. The amino-acid sequence of E30 deduced from its complementary DNA7 turned out to be highly homologous to that of E29, assigned by us as the spinach phosphate translocator2, and was identical to the corresponding polypeptide from pea chloroplasts3. Differences in the binding properties to hydroxylapatite of £30 and the phosphate translocator suggested that E30 was not responsible for the chloroplast phosphate-transport activity but was the chloroplast import receptor7. Here we present evidence that argues against this and which identifies E30 as the chloroplast phosphate translocator.
