I've been edging closer to burnout than I would like to admit. I can become too entranced by the summer and work myself to the bone while the weather is good. We don't always have to make hay while the sun is shining. Too much hay-making, and we get a little more than out of balance and out of touch. This week's rain has me reflecting on how nature provides opportunities for rest and reflection. This podcast is perfect for you workhorses who, like me, keep going long after we're told to stop. Listen if you've ever struggled to find the balance in work during the summer or have looked for a way to describe this feeling. In this episode, we use the rain, Robert Moore's manly archetypes and Trungpa's Great Eastern Sun to reflect on how we can get out of balance by following our thinking mind through task lists. The thinking mind can bring us opportunities but too much, and we begin to overthink into fear and scarcity. Welcome to Yoga Poetry Radio. On today's occasion of the solar equinox I will share a slow and careful sun salute along with the Shambhala Concept of Great Eastern Sun vision. Today's equinox is the day when the sun crosses the Earth's equator, the duration of the daytime is equal to the duration of nighttime and we begin our journey towards winter as the sun shifts away from my northern lands and closer to the Southern ones. The following practice is a mindful mat practice with the intention to bring in wakefulness and energy. Wear comfortable clothes and plan to both stand and get down to the floor. My next four podcasts will be posted with a slightly different schedule than usual. I will send them out as links via my regular Songs of Forgiveness newsletter that posts with the phases of the moon. Please subscribe to get those posts right in your inbox if you are not already. If you are subscribed you have my gratitude. Thank you for listening and thank you for your practice. As each new episode for this lunation is sent out, the last one will go behind the paywall. If you get behind in listening, not to worry, a monthly subscription of just $8 can get you the whole month of them. That is quite a deal. You can sign up and follow along for the next lunation or any lunation of your choosing. I will leave the dates of the upcoming primary phases at the bottom of the show notes and link the new episode when they are out. I invite you to contact me with any questions you may have.September 25 - New MoonOctober 2 - 1st Quarter MoonOctober 9 - Full MoonOctober 17 - 3rd Quarter Moon This is a public episode. D&DeBrief episode 008 - Is This a Pirate Ship I See Before Me? Summary: This session the PCs split up! Marcel and Khonnos go to the agent's office of the Company of the Eastern Sun to see if they can get a map showing them the way to Kalport. Meanwhile, Emmeryn and Axley head to the tavern to ask Glafeis and Taruma about the name Ientarsus, which was inscribed on the fork-like tool Emmeryn found on King Crab Island. They find out some surprising information about Ientarsus and his connection to the Dwarven People from none other than Ulgrat, the Dock-Watch Captain. He tells them a DARK TALE about a shameful point in the history of the Dwarf Clans involving King Ientarsus and Dalencia, Queen of Souls, that culminated the destruction of an entire race of people. The party eventually comes together again and sets about selling some goods and obtaining supplies for their upcoming month-long journey. While trying to find a buyer for black powder, Axley sees a ship that flies a flag strangely similar to the one flown by The Red Tooth Society, a known group of pirates! The Tempest's Fortune sets out for Kalport but finds itself battered by a storm and suffering damage. As the deluge subsides they assess the hull and find themselves face to face with an elusive Hokka. While waiting for the Hokka to return with help the group investigates a set of 4 rods found by Axley. Khonnos activates one and a goat springs forth, introducing himself and offering advice. The Hokka return and tow the ship to a small, uncharted island. After hosting a feast for the crew, the Hokka presents Captain Emmeryn with a gift and a task.Debrief: DM Samuel checks in with the group to make sure that each of the players feels comfortable with their PC's abilities and capabilities. The group also discusses the end of this story arc, how many sessions are left, and what to do after this campaign is over. Options Abound! Khonnos and Axley have sneaked onto the pirate ship under the cover of an invisibility spell. They search the ship and find that one of the cargo holds of the ship contains strange sacs of bluish fleshy material. Closer inspection by Khonnos reveals that they are blue goblin eggs incubating in the hold! They also find a room full of magical artifacts, no doubt stolen during the crew's piratical adventures. Lastly, they find a huge metal barrel that looks out of place aboard the ship. Axley finds a way to open the barrel and they discover that this is much more than a large tin can! Meanwhile, as Emmeryn and Marcel wait on the docks, they are approached by a two halflings. One introduces himslef as Dawmer Brittlespoon and expresses that they are looking for their cousin, Axley Tillingquest. They tell him that Axley must be back at the tavern, but he seems suspicious. Axley and Khonnos escape from the ship, with a little help from an ancient utra-rare artifact. Ulgrat comes back to the dock watch station and tries to settle the matter of damage caused by Khonnos and Axley exiting the suspected pirate ship. At the end of the negotiations the group leaves the island, possibly for the last time.Debrief: The group discusses some magical items they found, where they want to go next, and how not-fun it is to watch the DM play out conversations between two or more NPCs. The whole point is to make things fun, so even if the players make odd choices or they roll so poorly that things go terribly wrong, the DM needs to be able to provide opportunities for the group to turn it around and salvage the situation.Maps Used in the Game:The Gormer Chain, where Trastenfen is located:https://www.dropbox.com/s/8k2eqia6gzfuusb/Gormer%20Chain%20Map%20for%20players.pdf?dl=0The region to the West of Trastenfen, as per the map from the Company ofthe Eastern Sun:https://www.dropbox.com/s/3w5dlw0h3yzs0de/Sea%20of%20Intovyn%20Known%20map%20via%20Company%20of%20Eastern%20Sun.pdf?dl=0Image of the eye symbol seen on the tunics of the sailors:https://www.dropbox.com/s/4wcihvs3iu8d4u6/eye%20embroidered%20on%20tunic%20of%20sailors.jpg?dl=0Image of the eye symbol with longer tentacles on the stems:https://www.dropbox.com/s/01dtiorkspywncy/eye%20embroidered%20with%20long%20stems.PNG?dl=0Dramatis Personae:DMSamuel (DM) on Twitter: @DMSamuelNina (Emmeryn, Human Cleric of Goras) on Twitter: @n_bayes3Karu (Marcel, Lutrinian Sorcerer) on Twitter: @mystarseedMatt (Khonnos, Sea Elf Warlock) on Twitter: @mbriddellDavid (Axley, Halfling Bard)Patreon for D&Debrief: Patreon.com/RPGMusingsMusic: Mystery by ebunny https://audiojungle.net/item/mystery/4987658D&DeBrief Logo by Amber Seger rocketorca.com

Desert Garden Yoga Mix by Dubtrak on MixcloudDescription:After 6 months hiatus, Mixes for Yoga returns with a new selection of music. While the last, ‘Oceanside’ mix, explored tranquility of a beach, I’m starting 2013 with a desert theme mix; a place also filled with sand but, instead of the soothing sounds of surf, we explore silence and sensation of open space one can find in a desert. While many tracks in this mix come from netlabel releases and lesser known artists, I also included some rarities by fairly recognizable names like Massive Attack’s remix of Nusrat Fateh Ali Knah “Mustt Mustt”, Liquid Stranger’s early track “Between the bubbles” and Robin Guthrie’s (of Cocteau Twins fame) collaboration with ambient pianist Harold Budd. Behind the Mirage - Hot Yoga Mix by Dubtrak on MixcloudDescription:This mix starts off with some mid-tempo middle-eastern beats, progressing gently into a flow of great dub electronica and psytrance tunes in the middle. The last 3rd of the mix eases off into mellower and more melodic climates. Bombay Dub Orchestra, TJ Rehmi, Karsh Kale and Anoushka Shankar tracks bring the mix nicely toward its beat-less and meditative completion. Ambient track by Arcticology allows for perfect closed-eyes motionless cool off period.
