In the fourth entry in this Year of Pyun where I celebrate the movies of Albert Pyun my friend Karl from joins me to discuss the 1992 sci fi action movie, Nemesis. This podcast is full of spoilers for the movie. First I talk about a brand new rules supplement on Lulu for AD&D 1E type games. "Ron's Old-School Compendium" is a compilation including hundreds of all-new monsters, spells, and magic items designed to be compatible with 1st Edition AD&D, OSRIC, and other old-school fantasy role-playing game systems. These entries can be converted with minor effort to accommodate other similar games, as well. I learn lessons from all my games, whether Play-by-Post, online or tabletop/face-to-face. Second Edition AD&D Spelljammer Episode Introduction Thanks for sticking with us after the delay on last week's episode. That was totally Brandon's fault! We're back on the horse this week to talk about the original Spelljammer from Second Edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. Once the Fifth Edition version comes out in a couple of months we'll see how different they really are. We were looking at the "Legend of SPelljammer" box set that came out in 1991. Spelljammer itself came out in 1991. It was a long day, so Brandon refers a few times to the setting coming out in 1991, not 1989. Just roll with it. We're all tired. Also, Goblins and Growlers is going to be at Queen City Anime Con this year August 5-7. Come see us! We'll be doing panels and running the tabletop gaming room. Visit www.queencityanimecon.com for details. Additional Resources Big thanks to Harbs Narbs for getting an email interview with Jeff Grubb so I didn't have to risk rejection to do so myself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQ5y_9TdIJQ&t=8s Listen, rate, and subscribe! Dan & Isabelle assess the D&D art of the 90's. Brooklyn-based fine artist Isabelle Garbani joins us again for another installment of "Art of D&D": this time, in the 1990's, the era of 2nd Edition AD&D (leading to the last gasps of TSR, and its acquisition by Wizards of the Coast). It was a time of wild experimentation with many different campaign settings: Dark Sun, Ravenloft, Spelljammer, and more. How well did the art follow that expedition, and what kinds of artistic discoveries were made possible? Featuring art by Brom, Fred Fields, Jeff Easley, Tony Diterlizzi, and more. Watch Isabelle in the scary short The Perfect Daughter Wandering DMs Paul Siegel and Dan “Delta” Collins host thoughtful discussions on D&D and other TTRPGs every week. Comparing the pros and cons of every edition from the 1974 Original D&D little brown books to cutting-edge releases for 5E D&D today, we broadcast live on YouTube and Twitch so we can take viewer questions and comments on the topic of the day. Live every Sunday at 1 PM Eastern time.
Question: Does Teos have a favorite adventure? Answer: Yes! Question: Is it an old adventure from a prior edition of D&D? Answer: Again, yes! Specifically, from 1st Edition AD&D! Question: […]

Content Warning: This episode contains discussion of mental illness, eating disorders, and self-harm. If you are affected by any of the issues discussed and are struggling, please contact The Samaritans, Mind, or Breathing Space for support. We get things going this week - with a brief interruption involving Tuppy name-dropping - with a serious discussions about Mental Health in Role-playing Games. Most gamers have at least dabbled in a game that has rules for sanity loss, acquiring mental illnesses or battled against a foe whose justification was "ThEy'Re CrAzY!", but how do you deal with a real world issue in a respectful way? How have different games handled it mechanically and how would we suggest you approach it at the game table? Things don't stay this serious too long, though, with another Quiz to lighten the tone. This time round, Ailsa has to identify ten monsters from their descriptions in the 1st Edition AD&D Monster Manual: but George has replaced their proper names with his usual mixture of nonsense. Come play along and see if you can also work out what monster has more hit dice than Tiamat, what Muppet-related errors George makes, and what Monster Manual entry is just too giant for Ailsa to stay focused. All this and we've got appearances by almost our entire roster of characters - Mailer Daemon, Twike the Social Goblin, Tuppence Juniper-Smythe and even Mrs Shawney. We'll be on our guard to keep the Inch-High Incel out of the episode, though to be honest once you see what George has lined up for the mid-episode intermission you might think he's not the worst thing to ever appear in this podcast.Contact us by email on tildicepodcast@gmail.comWe can be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram under @tildicepodcastOur theme music is Funny Adventures by WinnieTheMoogLink: https://filmmusic.io/song/6048-funny-adventuresLicense: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/Additional music is Rock on Chicago by Kevin MacLeodLink: https://filmmusic.io/song/4302-rock-on-chicagoLicense: https://filmmusic.io/standard-licenseOur logo is by Neil Slorance - check out his work on Twitter under @neilslorance or Facebook as "Art by Neil Slorance"Support the show (https://ko-fi.com/tildicepodcast)Support the Show.

You asked, Jon Allen delivered. What better way to spend your Tuesday afternoon than to listen to the poetic beat of a Jon Allen listener tale? En garde and defend your honor, this time we dive into the 1973 classic, The Three Musketeers! While there have been many adaptations of the classic novel into cinema over the last century, our general consensus is that this one is the most faithful to the source material - and the most entertaining! And we welcome our first ever guest host with this episode, too. Our good gaming friend Scott has a lot to say about this movie and the franchise in general. Also, we're trying a new thing here with this one. General consensus in most feedback has been that people want more of what we have to say, so we decided to make it so. This is our longest episode yet, and future episodes will likely be roughly two hours in length. Please keep the feedback coming, we'd love to hear your thoughts on this format modification. Thanks!
