Some prisoners get so used to life behind bars that they choose to go back—even after they've been released . Paul writes to the Galatians with a similar warning: don't return to the chains Jesus has already broken. In Christ, we're not just freed from guilt, shame, and legalism—we're freed for a life of love, purpose, and truth. It's time to walk out of the prison, shake off the chains, and step into the wide, messy, beautiful life of grace. Title: True Freedom Series: Galatians Text: Galatians 5:1–15 Speaker: Andrew Branham
07/27/2025 - Ozzie Santiago
Freedom isn't just a spiritual concept—it's the very purpose of Christ's sacrifice. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." But how many of us truly possess and live in this freedom? The devotional unveils a profound truth: God isn't just concerned with getting you to heaven someday; He's actively working to develop character fruits and reveal hidden treasures within you right now. Your Shepherd's correction isn't punishment—it's guidance keeping you on the path to experiencing your full freedom. "You are not meant just to survive. You are meant to thrive and be whole and free and complete, right where God has placed you."
What if the very system you trust to bring you closer to God is actually pulling you away from His grace—and true freedom is found somewhere you might not expect? In Galatians 5, Paul reminds us that true freedom comes not from religious rule-keeping or law-based performance, but from living by the Spirit through faith in Christ alone.--The Unveiling Mormonism podcast pulls back the curtain on Mormon history, culture and doctrine. Both are equally destructive. Many Mormons follow rules, believing this makes them justified before God. Paul, once a Pharisee, believed the same until he encountered Christ:Philippians 3:7-9 (NLT): Paul calls his former religious achievements "garbage" compared to knowing Christ.Relying on works, like circumcision in Paul's day or LDS temple worthiness today, cuts people off from Christ and God's grace. Sometimes what we think will lead to freedom actually has the opposite effect. It can be hard to see things as they are, but Galatians 4 brings clarity when it comes to our relationship with God and others. God is calling us to real freedom in Christ, not the illusion of the world.

This Sunday, we jumped back into our series on Galatians, Living in the Freedom of Grace! Pastor Marty taught from chapter 5. In his message, he taught us how easily we can fall into legalism rather than truly relying on the gospel message of grace through faith in the saving work of Jesus on our behalf. We hope you enjoy watching! This message is from 4/27/25
Paul shows the Galatians how their strict adherence to the law for their righteousness is returning them to a life of slavery, apart from Christ. He calls them back, urging them to stand firm in the same freedom they were initially saved into because of Jesus. Comparing this with the parable of the two sons in Luke 15, we consider the ways in which we also return to a yoke of slavery and how we should respond when we do.

In Galatians (Chapter 5), the Apostle Paul emphasizes the significant decision every Believer must make between freedom and slavery, liberty and bondage, life and death. The choice is ours: to embrace the freedom offered in Christ or to return to the shackles of the flesh, world, and the devil. In this message, we will look at the practical benefits (and detriments) of choosing either life-liberating freedom or burdensome slavery. Let's choose wisely! When God sovereignly calls us, he opens our eyes to see and embrace the beauty of Jesus. And that call grants freedom from obeying the law as a means of being justified.
