What does it mean to be free in Christ? Most of us don't know how to use our freedom in a healthy way. We sometimes use it as an excuse to sin or be selfish. Not understanding our freedom in Christ can also mean we are trapped in legalism and judgement of others. Brian teaches from 1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1 to teach us our freedom in Christ!

Life has a way of loading us down with stress, disappointment, and unforgiveness. Each moment feels like another rock tossed into the rucksack we carry. Before long, the weight slows us down and keeps us from running the race God set before us. In this episode of Walking in Command, Pastor Anthony unpacks 1 John 4:20–5:3, Hebrews 12:1, and Matthew 5 to show us how to: Lay down bitterness and anger Walk in obedience and discipline to Christ Forgive those who've wounded us Trade the heavy rucksack of life for the light burden of Jesus The true test of sonship isn't in what we say but in how we treat those who've hurt us. Get the rocks out of your rucksack—and discover the freedom of walking in command.

Send us a textGrace Over Grind: Resting in the Gift of Salvation Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–9“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”What does it truly mean to be saved by grace? In this powerful episode of Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper unpacks the life-altering message found in Ephesians 2:8–9—a bold reminder that salvation is a gift, not a reward. Many believers unknowingly fall into the exhausting cycle of trying to earn God's approval. Whether it's through church attendance, ministry service, or striving for moral perfection, we often treat faith like a scorecard. Today's devotional shatters that mindset with this liberating truth: you are saved by grace through faith, not by works.Episode Highlights:A deep dive into the meaning of grace as God's unmerited favorExposure of the “treadmill Christianity” mindset—where effort is mistaken for intimacyEncouragement to stop measuring your worth by what you do for God, and rest in what God has done for youPractical examples of how legalism creeps into everyday Christian lifeReverend Cooper calls out the lies that many believers live under—believing that cleaning church toilets or volunteering endlessly somehow secures a higher spiritual standing. Instead, we are reminded that our identity is rooted not in doing, but in being—being children of grace, loved and accepted because of Christ, not our contribution.Life ApplicationWhat would change in your life if you truly believed that you are enough in Christ? Would you stop striving? Would you rest? Would you pray with more joy and serve without burnout?Grace doesn't dismiss discipline—it repositions it. We serve from acceptance, not for acceptance. Send us a text Series: 1 Corinthians — A Letter for Our TimeWelcome to The Bible Project Daily Podcast. I'm Jeremy McCandless, and today we launch a brand new season as we begin our study through the Apostle Paul's first letter to the Corinthians—chapter by chapter, verse by verse.Corinth was a messy church in a broken world. Sound familiar? That's why this letter matters so much—because it speaks directly into the kind of cultural confusion and spiritual compromise we face today.Over the next approx 40 episodes, we'll explore what it means to live a cross-shaped life, how to pursue unity in a divided age, and why the resurrection changes everything.Let's begin this journey—together—to Corinth.
Freedom carries profoundly different meanings depending on whether you're viewing it through the lens of modern culture or biblical truth. This thought-provoking episode tackles the paradox at the heart of Christian freedom—that surrender to Christ actually leads to our greatest liberty.Pastor Bob Fleischmann begins by sharing Martin Luther's powerful insight that "A Christian man is the most free lord of all and subject to none. A Christian man is the most dutiful servant of all and subject to everyone." This seemingly contradictory statement opens the door to understanding how Christian freedom differs fundamentally from the world's concept of autonomy. We explore how today's culture—from children's entertainment to political discourse—has shaped a shallow understanding of freedom as "having no rules." Even Frozen's beloved anthem "Let It Go" contains the revealing line: "No right, no wrong, no rules for me, I'm free." Against this cultural backdrop, we unpack Romans 6 and Galatians 5 to reveal how before Christ, we had only the "freedom" to sin—essentially the freedom to choose our chains. Through Christ's redemption, we gain something far greater: the freedom to do what is right. The conversation takes an especially practical turn when discussing Christian citizenship. Rather than seeing our freedom in Christ as an exemption from civic responsibility, we discover how it uniquely equips us to serve our neighbors through thoughtful participation in society. As one pastor notes, "Christians are called to be yeast in society—influencing it while remaining distinct."Whether you're wrestling with personal freedom questions or wondering how faith intersects with Independence Day celebrations, this episode offers refreshing clarity on what it truly means to be set free in Christ. The answer might surprise you—and transform how you view both spiritual liberty and its outworking in everyday life.Support the show

Send us a textIn this first episode of our new series, The Real Thing, we confront a subtle but powerful lie many of us have believed: that following Jesus means managing our lives better. From color-coded binders to constant striving, we've both fallen into the trap of believing that more control equals more freedom. But Jesus didn't come to help us manage our sin—He came to give us life to the full. That doesn't mean a perfect life, but a deep, soul-satisfying connection with Him that begins now.We share personal stories of how “management mode” drained us—Heidi in her struggles with fear-driven weight control, and Christina in the midst of her mom's Alzheimer's journey, where surrender brought surprising peace. We're learning that true freedom comes not through tighter grip, but through trust. We close with simple breath prayers and practical steps to help you move from self-reliance to relationship. You were made for more than managing—you were made for real life with God.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org

As we continue our series on Christian freedoms, next up, we're talking about alcohol. Often a taboo topic, today, we aim to provide a biblically healthy discussion on alcohol, how those that exercise their Christian freedom to consume it should do so, and how we should honor our Christian brothers and sisters that choose to abstain. All this and more, in a new episode of the podcast.
1 Corinthians 6:9-20 (Sylvester Siu)
The Christian faith comes with many cultures and preferences and as a result, also comes with many differing denominations and convictions. But different doesn't necessarily mean sinful. In fact, our differences allow us to build the kingdom in a more robust way. On what foundation do we base what we should agree on as believers and what we have the freedom to differ on? More importantly, what does disagreeing with the body look like in real time? All this and more, in a new episode of the podcast.

Dr. Joey Dodson unpacks the commonly misunderstood passage of Romans 7, revealing how the dominant interpretation has mistakenly led Christians to identify with defeat rather than victory in Christ.• Historical interpretation shows earliest Greek readers understood Paul was impersonating someone else, not describing his own post-conversion experience• Augustine shifted the interpretation during disputes with Pelagius, influencing Luther and Calvin• The "I" in Romans 7 is completely dominated by sin, with no mention of the Holy Spirit• Romans 7 likely portrays Adam/Israel under law's condemnation, not the normal Christian life• Paul presents sin as a cosmic tyrant, not just individual actions• Christians are already sanctified but not fully expressing that reality• Our identity is primarily as sons and daughters, not sinners• Community and the Holy Spirit are essential for freedom – isolation keeps us in darkness• Grace doesn't just forgive sin – it frees us from sin's powerThe gospel brings liberation from sin's dominion, not just forgiveness. Our struggle isn't because we must sin, but because we choose to. We've been delivered from the domain of darkness into his marvelous light.
