Sometimes things happen, and I don't have a guest for the live show. Usually I try to improvise when that happens. Sometimes it ends up being weird, sometimes it's weirdly alright, sometimes it's nothing special. This time, it's....ehm. You will have to see for yourself. And I definitely recommend taking the whole thing with a pinch of salt.  ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Dementia is seen as one of the most horrible things that can happen to a person – a “loss of self” or “living death.” Susan Massad and Mary Fridley are part of a coalition working to challenge that way of looking at dementia, known as “the tragedy narrative.” They created a workshop called The Joy of Dementia Workshop (You’ve Got To Be Kidding!). Using improvisation and social therapeutics, they teach how we can reframe what memories are and who we are as human beings, even if we can’t access them.

I had a wonderful conversation with my friend Jay Fortune from the UK (http://www.jayfortune.co.uk/) He’s a multitalented guy who has performed magic for a long time, created magical furniture, is a naturally funny person and creates incredible art.We talk about his love for art, working an audience, how to deal with the unexpected, skillful improvization that takes you to places you had no clue existed and that he learned by being thrown into the fire when he did a radioshow. And also how our ego can disrupt that process of discovery.
