These memorials can take various forms, from grand structures to simple plaques, all serving as focal points for our collective memory. Memorials remind us of our history, our values, and the peoplewho have left a lasting impact on our world.God's MemorialsBut have you ever wondered what kind of memorial God would establish? In today's episode, we discover that God has indeed set up memorials in the form of sacred events that carry profound significance for our faith. We'll explore two of these memorials, the Passover and the Lord's Supper, both mentioned in the passage we're examining.Preparing for the PassoverThe passage begins with preparations for the Passover, a memorial rooted in the Old Testament. The disciples, not being familiar with Jerusalem, seek Jesus' guidance on where to celebrate the Passover meal. Interestingly, they are instructed to follow a man carrying a jar of water, which was an uncommon sight since this task was typically performed by women. This small detail highlights the significance of the encounter. The Passover: A Story of LiberationThe Passover memorial originated in the Old Testament as a way for God's people to remember their liberation from slavery in Egypt. The meal included unleavened bread, a symbol of haste, bitter herbs to recall the bitterness of their bondage, and the lamb's blood, which marked their homes and protected them from the angel of death.Jesus and Judas: A Moment of BetrayalDuring the Passover meal, Jesus drops a bombshell: one of His disciples will betray Him. This revelation leaves the disciples in shock, each questioning if they could be the one. Judas, the betrayer, is identified as the one who will dip his bread into the bowl with Jesus. The Lord's Supper: A New CovenantAmid this somber moment, Jesus institutes the Lord's Supper. He takes bread, gives thanks, and breaks it, saying, "This is my body." Then, He takes a cup, gives thanks again, and shares it with His disciples, proclaiming, "This is my blood of the new covenant."The New Covenant: A Promise of RedemptionThis establishment of the new covenant signifies a profound shift. The old covenant, symbolized by the Passover, is fulfilled in Jesus. His death and resurrection pave the way for a new covenant, where we are redeemed through His sacrifice. The Lord's Supper becomes our memorial, reminding us of the price Jesus paid for our salvation. The Future Kingdom and CommunionAs tSupport the showFurther Discipleship Training Courses Free at;linkedin.com/in/jeremy-mccandless-68353b16Podcast Archive also athttps://www.youtube.com/c/JeremyRMcCandlessThe LIFE Podcast - The Bible Project | FacebookMy Amazon Author Pageamazon.com/author/jeremymccandlessJeremy McCandless is creating podcasts and devotional resources | PatreonHelp us continue making great content for listeners everywhere.https://thebibleproject.buzzsprout.com

This show features local Denver comedians in a space where they can say whatever they want, and we are not a success until we have someone lose their job at SNL. This week on the podcast we have the very funny Hannah Popkin (Yikies!! Comedy Show). Opening up with bathroom questions, we do a Battle of Intros and Hannah defends The Fray. Evan explains two-tone/Skanking while consistently negging. The group talks a bit about comedy, rank each other's level swag and then we discuss Dave and his blades. Tip up or down, Japanese steal and his lovely mom. After being asked about Favorite Conspiracy, Hannah give us the full scoop on a Hollywood cannibal, and everyone debates what part of the human would be best to eat. With a quick round of Best of The Worst, we move into a game of Hannah versus a plethora of worthy opponents and have an "In Memorial" segment for those things we've recently lost. After News Stories, Hannah gives a sports update and explains what's going on with "Those Broncos" and women in sports. "Hannah Pops Off!!!!!" at one point and we end the podcast with Hannah explaining the Do's and Don'ts of Dating Apps, even helping Dylan with his Tinder profile by giving advice and criticism. Throughout the show, we break down jokes, tell stories from the local scene and discuss all of the important things happening all around the world. The hosts Evan Fitzgerald and Dylan Kantor thank our guests for coming by the studio and appreciate every listen and share!
Episode 108 – Remembering Bob GreenwoodOn Thursday, September 9th, the automotive service industry lost one of its most visionary business development trainers when Bob Greenwood passed away suddenly at the young age of 71. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob's family at this most difficult time, and we hope they find comfort in the outpouring of sympathy from the many in our industry who were mentored and had their lives touched by Bob's wit and wisdom. We interviewed Bob on October 21, 2020 where, in the midst of a pandemic, he shared his vision for elevating the automotive industry with a new way of looking at the business of automotive service and repair. Bob presented his new Business Development Class in partnership with the Automotive Service Association, and it was extremely popular. In fact, another 2021 Level 1 class was being promoted to launch in September when we received the tragic news of Bob's passing. In memory of Bob and the good work he did, here is a rebroadcast of that recorded 2020 interview wherein Bob shares his vision for a better tomorrow. He was a good friend and mentor to many and did much to help our ASA members grow their business and achieve success. He was, simply, a good man. He will be deeply missed.Bob Greenwood, AMAM, was president and CEO of Automotive Aftermarket E-Learning Centre Ltd. (AAEC). With over 40 years of Business Management experience within the Independent sector of the automotive aftermarket in North America, Bob was widely recognized as one of the best business development coaches in the industry. The changes we're facing due to the pandemic require that we think differently. To answer this need, Bob created a new Level 1 Business Development class presented by ASA to explain that new way of thinking about the business of automotive service and repair. It's something everyone can do that doesn't require anything but an open mind to succeed! Hear all about it as Bob discusses:· How the independent repair shop community is evolving from a trade into a profession.· Where net profit is being missed out of your current business coming through the door.· An in-depth look at Bob's new Level 1 Business Development course and how it can help analyze your business to see precisely where net profit is being missed.· How thinking differently can boost your business and develop your employees into a high-performance team.· The process for developing a professional business that will have great value when the time comes to sell.· How the eight, engaging, one-hour sessions provide a classroom feeling with interaction available during the class and beyond with a personal touch.
In this week's podcast we dare to be stupid and get weird. We recap the Weird Al concert "Strings Attached" at the Met in Philadelphia. Then we look at just how Disney is doing it wrong on several fronts in our Disney Detective segment. We flash back to our child hood in Entertainment News with the possible revival of a favorite animated show and a few other items. Then we have yet another brief "In Memorial" segment before we wrap up with our Insightful Picks of the Week and a new media outlet to catch all of our shows in as an afterthought. Joseph Harris and Kelly Fordon discuss the first book from Harris's thrilling interconnected narrative, You're in the Wrong Place. Charles Baxter stated that "Joseph Harris has a particular feeling for the Detroit suburbs and the slightly stunted lives of the young people there. . . . You're in the Wrong Place isn't uniformly downbeat—there are all sorts of rays of hope that gleam toward the end." The book, composed of twelve stories, begins in the fall of 2008 with the shuttering of Dynamic Fabricating—a fictional industrial shop located in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale. Over the next seven years, the shop's former employees—as well as their friends and families—struggle to find money, purpose, and levity in a landscape suddenly devoid of work, faith, and love. In "Would You Rather," a young couple brought together by Dynamic Fabricating shares a blissful weekend in Northern Michigan, unaware of the catastrophe that awaits them upon their return home. In "Acolytes," a devout Catholic clings to her faith as her brothers descend into cultish soccer violence. In "Memorial," an ex-Dynamic worker scrapes money together for a tribute to his best friend, lost to the war in Afghanistan. In "Was It Good for You?" a cam girl deconstructs materialism with her aging great aunt, a luxury sales associate, and an anxious, faceless client. And in the title story, simmering tensions come to a boil on a hot summer day for a hardscrabble landscaping crew, hired by the local bank to maintain the lawns of foreclosures. In turns elegiac and harrowing, You're in the Wrong Place blends lyric intensity with philosophical eroticism to create a singular, powerful vision of contemporary American life. Readers of contemporary fiction grounded in place need to take up this collection. The story "Jack" is available at www.kellyfordon.com. The book can be purchased at Wayne State University Press here or Bookshop here.

I needed a break from myself. The year i spent making 52 shows was emotionally taxing. I didn't even realize that until i neared the end and evaluated my message and tone. I'm heading into a new chapter, I can feel it happening to me. The songs were very healing and cathartic, I present a few in excerpt form and in part 2 I'll release a similar show detailing compositions I remixed and edited all the music I felt was valuable from the show. I'll be releasing 2 products on iTunes. In Memorial to my son.
Memorial is an audio drama vignette. In Memorial, we meet two characters who are reuniting for the first time in unusual circumstances. Originally, this script was written for the RØDE Podcast Competition in early 2019, which meant that it had a two minute time limit. I took that as a challenge, and asked myself "Can I make an audience love and feel for two people they only just met, in only two minutes?"The music and sound design for Memorial was made by the amazing Maize Wallin, who I very much hope to work with again some time. In Memorial of Jerry Goldsmith. On July 21, 2004, cancer took one of the most talented and prolific film composers at the age of 75. Star Trek fans know Jerry Goldsmith best for his contributions to Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: Nemesis, and for the main title for Star Trek: Voyager. However, his extensive list of film, television, and video game credits exceeds 250 titles. Goldsmith was nominated for 18 Academy Awards and nine Golden Globes. Two of his scores—Planet of the Apes and Chinatown—are on the American Film Institute‘s list of the 25 best film scores of all time. In this episode of Melodic Treks, host Brandon-Shea Mutala reflects on Goldsmith and plays tracks from five of his non-Trek scores, including Logan‘s Run, Rio Lobo, The Sum of All Fears, Warning Shot, and Bad Girls.
