After more than a decade of making music, singer and songwriter Jessica Jolia is preparing for the release of her debut album. Ahead of the release, she sat down with Vocalo host Bekoe to outline her journey, from her getting her start to where her career has taken her. Jolia's 2014 debut single "Sometimes” became her first major breakthrough when it was featured in the film ‘Sister Code.' She followed it up with the dance anthem “Want You,” amassing international acclaim. Be on the lookout for her latest single, "Caught In The Middle," set to release this month. Jessica Jolia is an American recording artist, songwriter, musician and educator. Her debut single "Sometimes" was independently released and featured in the 2015 film Sister Code starring Amber Rose, Eva Marcille and Drew Sidora, and later featured on Spotify's Top Tracks of 2016 "Fire Emoji" curated playlist. Jessica has since performed on The Ellen Show and The Late Late Show, and has been featured in The Source, This Is RnB, The A&R Report, Rolling Soul Brazil and many other publications around the world. Jessica is also featured on Lin Rountree’s 2018 single “Something More” from the album Stronger Still. The song tells of a love that is meaningful in many ways, yet lacks that special kind of magic we often crave. Penning the only vocal track on the album, she is also credited as vocal producer and recording engineer. Jessica has had the pleasure of recording, performing and touring with many award-winning artists including Dr. Dre, Rita Ora, Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, The Chainsmokers, Bryce Vine, Goapele, Eric Benet, Faith Evans, Earth Wind & Fire, Jeffrey Osborne, Karyn White, Chico DeBarge, Alexander O'Neal, Smokey Robinson, Lyle Lovett, Kenny Lattimore, Johnny Gill, New Edition and Kelly Price. Jessica Jolia and then Malynda Hale each performed and then sat down for these interviews during the Winter 2017 NAMM show in California. Both are singer/songwriters based in that state. Jolia had a song placed in the film “Sister Code” and on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds Top Tracks of 2016 Playlist.” She is recording a new album, slated for release in July, and is also touring the country with Eric Benet and Johnny Gill. Jessica tells a funny story about something no one knows about her. Malynda Hale won Best Female Vocalist at the 2016 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. She is also an actress and is a SAG member, having even done national commercials and a Lifetime movie. She also co-hosted “The Vampire Diaries” after-show and was the main host for “The Walking Dead” after-show. She mentions having even done modeling and voiceover work. On top of all that she’s working on a new five-song EP for release this summer.
