In this episode of the show, Binksy, Raj and Stu take stock of all 10 teams at IPL 2026 as we move to the knockout phase of the competition. We start the show by focusing on the three teams already qualified for the playoffs at the time of recording - Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru & Sunrisers Hyderabad. There are contrasts among the styles - GT's bowling has been a huge strength, SRH look to overpower sides with their batting & RCB favour a more balanced approach - but all three must feel they have a strong chance of lifting the trophy in 2026. There's talk about the upcoming battle between Josh Hazelwood & Bhuvi Kumar and the GT top three of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman GIll & Jos Buttler - plus yet more praise for Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan & Eshan Malinga. As the conversation turns to the sides on the bubble - Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals & Kolkata Knight Riders - we avoid discussing the permutations and instead focus on which of these teams we'd most likely expect to play spoiler when one of them slides into that number 4 slot on the table. For KKR, it's the bowling that has shone in recent matches - the spin of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy in particular capturing most of the headlines. Punjab finally awoke from their slumber thanks to a superb hundred from Shreyas Iyer, but after a losing streak that long, can they really be expected to win 4 matches in a row? Rajasthan's equation was simple - beat Mumbai and they're in - then hope Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's outstanding season can continue for a few more games against the toughest opposition. In the final segment, we say goodbye to Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and the Chennai Super Kings. Are there any bright spots? What skillsets should they target in the 2027 auction? And could that auction feature big names like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Aiden Markram & Matt Henry?
In this episode of the show, Stu and Raj discuss the second week of IPL 2026, focusing on RCB v MI, GT v LSG, RR sitting at the top of the ladder and a few other things that have caught their eye so far. We start the show by discussing RCB's most recent victory over the Mumbai Indians. Did Stu make a huge mistake leaving RCB out of his pre-tournament top 4? It's certainly looking that way after Phil Salt joined Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli, Tim David and friends in finding the middle of his bat. Josh Hazelwood has returned too, but how much will he play? For Mumbai, is it time to sound the alarm? Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult aren't taking wickets, Mitchell Santner's bowling in the powerplay, Rohit Sharma is injured and they find themselves near the bottom of the ladder despite their star-studded lineup. Can they bounce back? Or are these losses a sign of things to come? As we turn our attention to GT v LSG, we also look back at Gujarat's final-ball thriller against the Delhi Capitals, which saw Prasidh Krishna and Jos Buttler combine to thwart David Miller's late flurry. We discuss Rashid Khan's early form, then agree that GT is on the improve and LSG are a good but not great side. Next, it's the table-topping Rajasthan Royals in the spotlight, particularly their openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and the moustachioed Yashasvi Jaiswal. Is it realistic to think they could they finish the season as the best openers from an impressive collection in IPL 2026? Finally, Raj asks Stu's thoughts on the Sunrisers Hyderabad's start to the season and we bounce around a few quick notes, including Sanju Samson's impressive hundred that saw CSK capture their first win of the season. We'll be back in your feed again soon with more cricket news, including plenty of IPL coverage and the upcoming NZ tours. In this episode of the show, Stu and Raj discuss the first week of IPL 2026, focusing on the things that reinforced their pre-tournament views and the things that have surprised them so far. We start the show with another shout out to Amelia Kerr, after her stunning 179* guided the White Ferns to a record-breaking chase against South Africa, before moving on to the IPL coverage and the most recent match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Kolkata Knight Riders.. For SRH, it was a story of two innings on the batting side of things, with the Travishek combo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head getting them off to a flyer, before a flurry of wickets meant Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy had to rebuild, but they did it in fine style. With the ball, run outs proved to be the most important factor, as we talk about some positive signs from Nitish Kumar Reddy & Angkrish Raghuvanshi and the pressure starting to build on Cameron Green. As we start to look back to the week that was, it's Cooper Connolly who takes centre stage after he starred in Punjab's win against Gujarat. We examine why people are so excited about his potential, and what this means for the PBKS season. Next, attention turns to the Rajasthan v CSK game, which saw Nandre Burger & Jofra Archer blast out the CSK top order before Vaibhav Suryavanshi and a moustachioed Yashasvi Jaiswal made light work of the chase. Are RR better than we expected? Or are the Chennai Super Kings fans in for a tough, tough season? The Delhi Capitals bowlers are the next group to receive praise from the Top Order team, after their performance against LSG. Lungi Ngidi's slower ball, Kuldeep Yadav's trickery and Axar Patel's craft all played a huge role in knocking off the LSG firepower before an impressive partnership from Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs saw them home. To round out the show, we highlight strong starts from RCB and the Mumbai Indians, who look set to challenge for the title yet again in 2026 with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & Ryan Rickelton all looking in top form. We'll be back in your feed again in another week or so with more cricket news, including plenty of IPL news and the upcoming NZ tours. We're cutting through the PR and "process" talk to look at the high-stakes gambles defining IPL 2026. This is a tactical breakdown of three franchises that have completely nuked their old identities to build something more volatile. Lucknow Super Giants have officially killed off the KL Rahul era. By handing the captaincy to Rishabh Pant and pulling off a blockbuster trade for Mohammed Shami, LSG has gone full "vibes and violence." We debate whether Pant's chaotic leadership is the spark this sterile franchise needed, or if a lack of batting anchors will lead to a total car crash. Sunrisers Hyderabad made the shock move of the off-season by trading Shami away. It's a massive middle finger to traditional bowling balance, proving they are obsessed with outrunning every target. With Pat Cummins leading a thin domestic pace attack, the pressure on Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen to post 240-plus scores every night is astronomical. Gujarat Titans have created the most terrifying opening partnership in the league by pairing Shubman Gill with Jos Buttler. While their top order looks like a cheat code, the real intrigue is in the middle. We look at why they dropped ₹8.4 crore on uncapped sensation Auqib Dar and whether this "top-heavy" blueprint can survive a long season. Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Baldy, Raj and Stu are back in the same room again (almost all of us) to kick off the IPL 2026 coverage with a bumper preview show in two parts. In this episode, we start by previewing the fortunes of the Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings. We start with a Baldy explainer, before moving straight into the team previews. This year we decided to count down from outsiders (based on the a random betting agency - don't blame us) to the favourites to discuss what excites us about our chosen teams, the key questions facing each side and whether we think they'll be in title contention come the business end of the tournament. First up is RR, in which Binksy highlights their young side, but buries the lead to the big question about Vaibhav Suryavanshi and how much hype will surround the young star this season. We also discuss the loss of Sanju Samson and ponder whether Riyan Parag's side is in rebuild mode. Next is LSG, where the conversation quickly turns to their powerful projected top 4 of Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran & Rishabh Pant. Will they be able to carry the batting load on their hefty shoulders? Will Wanindu Hasaranga play a role in the tournament? And will we see a fully fit Mayank Yadav steaming in again? For KKR it's a sad day for Binksy to look at the lineup and see no Andre Russell, but Sunil Narine remains and a host of New Zealanders have arrived to boost the overseas stocks. The question remains, which ones will actually take the field? Will Finn Allen thrive? And how much has Harshit Rana's injury dented their chances? The Delhi Capitals are up fourth, and Stu is excited about their chances in 2026. The addition of the likes of Pathum Nissanka, David Miller & Lungi Ngidi, plus the spin trio of Axar Patel, Vipraj Nigam & Kuldeep Yadav makes the team an intriguing proposition on paper. But will they have the local batting depth to turn that intrigue into wins? To round out part one of our preview, Raj takes a look at 2025's beaten finalists, the Punjab Kings, who return with a lot of familiar faces from the team that performed so well in the previous season. There's Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh at the top, overseas allrounders like Marco Jansen, Azmatullah Omarzai & Marcus Stoinis, plus Arshdeep Singh & the spin duo of Yuzi Chahal and Harpreet Brar with the ball, making them a very balanced side. So why are they not more favoured in the betting odds? We'll be back in your feed again in 24 hours with the second episode of our IPL 2026 Preview. Until then please take the time to give us a like, follow, share or subscribe on all our channels (@toporderpod on Twitter & Facebook, and @thetoporderpodcast on Instagram & YouTube) and a (5-Star!) review at your favourite podcast provider, or tell a friend to download. The Lucknow Super Giants splashed a massive amount of cash on Rishabh Pant in the Indian Premier League 2025 mega-auction. But things went horribly wrong for both Pant and his franchise this season. LSG failed to make it to the playoffs, and Pant endured a historic low in the competition.Questions were raised about Pant's ability as a T20 batter and as a leader of the side. In the latest episode of the Sledging Room podcast, Akshay Ramesh, Saurabh Kumar, and Kingshuk Kusari discuss what went wrong with the Lucknow-based franchise and their captain. They also delve into the fortunes of the Delhi Capitals — Pant's former side — who failed to qualify for the playoffs despite starting the tournament in riveting fashion.Delhi amassed a strong squad this season but suffered an incredible collapse in the second half. Constant changes in their batting order and the failure of their spinners in the final few matches overshadowed individual brilliance from the likes of KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs. Delhi were also hurt by the failure of their management, who were unable to provide the squad with the right replacements when needed. Here's a recap of the near misses from this season of the tournament, with a special focus on the future of LSG captain Rishabh Pant.Produced by Prateek LidhooSound mix by Suraj Singh

PBKS ne Diya Rishabh Pant ko Munh Tod Jawaab! | Saade Aala RadioIn this explosive episode of Saade Aala Radio, we break down how Punjab Kings absolutely demolished Rishabh Pant's team, LSG, chasing them out of the stadium after setting a massive 236-run target!
The 2025 IPL group stage heads towards its conclusion, and results over the weekend appear to have solidified who will make the play-offs. Virat Kohli and RCB beat CSK in a thriller, which leaves them top of the table and in an excellent position to potentially win the IPL. Punjab Kings were also able to easily take down LSG, which firmed up their position. The potential outsider is KKR, who just squeezed past Rajasthan Royals, and may yet put together a run of victories which could take them to the play-offs. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Jamie and Stu look back at week 6 of IPL 2025, which saw the top 7 sides break away, Vaibhav Suryavanshi score a 35-ball century, Mumbai demolish Rajasthan, KKR win a final-ball thriller, Punjab secure a crucial two points against LSG, England name their first Test squad of the summer, and plenty more! We start this week by talking about Sunday's double-header, which saw KKR seal a nervy 1-run victory against RR to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, and Punjab Kings take a big step towards the semi-finals with an impressive victory against LSG. We spend a long time discussing Vaibhav Suryavanshi's cover drive, as well as the skill and quality of Arshdeep Singh as the battle for the Top 4 heats up. From there, we move to Stu's claim that this tournament is tracking towards a Mumbai Indians v Gujarat Titans final. Ryan Rickelton joined Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav in the runs this week, while Trent Boult continues to take wickets alongside Jasprit Bumrah. For GT, it's the top 3 of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler who continue to shine alongside their balanced bowling attack led by Prasidh Krishna. We discuss how IPL form could lead to Test opportunities, and whether the upcoming match between these two sides could be a preview of the big dance. One side who haven't been flying high in 2025 is Sunrisers Hyderabad, and despite their tiniest of tiny chances of sneaking into the playoffs, we decide it is time to bite the bullet and discuss what went wrong this season. The short answer is everything, but without Baldy there to defend him somehow the conversation turns to whether Pat Cummins is a marquee player in T20 cricket and how SRH could look to improve their bowling attack in 2026. We round out the show by talking some Test cricket, thanks to England naming their first squad of the summer to take on Zimbabwe in a one-off fixture. The boys evaluate the squad, noting Ben Stokes on the comeback trail, an injury to Jordan Cox, a potential debut for Sam Cook, Shoaib Bashir's inclusion and what bearing any of it could have for an exciting summer to come. Just a week ago, everyone had written off the Mumbai Indians. But with four straight wins and a squad clicking in perfect rhythm, they've roared back into the spotlight. The five-time champions aren't just winning—they're dominating, playing with the swagger and confidence of a team that knows exactly how to conquer titles. In contrast, Rishabh Pant - acquired for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore to lead Lucknow Super Giants - has looked a shadow of his once-destructive self. After nine matches this season, he has mustered just 106 runs, with 63 of those coming in a single knock against CSK. Pant has always thrived when brimming with confidence, but at LSG, he seems jaded and weighed down by expectations. His strike rate of 96.36 is alarmingly low for someone of his caliber. Part of the issue could be his constant shuffle in the batting order, never quite settling into one role. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja have retained their spots in the Grade A+ bracket of the BCCI central contracts despite stepping away from T20Is. We break down how the BCCI arrived at that decision. In the latest episode of the Sledging Room podcast, Saurabh Kumar, Kingshuk Kusari, and Alan Jose John dissect the central contracts, Pant's struggles, and Mumbai Indians' roaring comeback in IPL 2025. Produced by Prateek Lidhoo Sound mix by Rohan Bharti
6 games to discuss on this episode of the podcast, featuring all 10 teams in the 2025 IPL. The big movers are Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans who are cruising away at the top of the table. Elsehwere, Virat Kohli and RCB are still going strong after their double header v Punjab Kings. And Dhoni's boys, CSK, continue to suffer. In this episode of the show, Baldy, Jamie and Stu look back at week 3 of IPL 2025 through a stock market lens. Who are we buying? Who are we selling? And what are we watching with our fingers poised ready to pounce in the coming weeks? We start this week with an injury update - and it's not been good news both on the field for the Kiwis Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Phillips, and in the podcast studio, with almost all of us suffering from one ailment or another. Once things do turn positive, it's the Gujarat Titans who are first to receive praise - in particular Sai Sudharsan and the consistency he's shown throughout the tournament so far. We also talk about Punjab's Indian core and the golden duck to century turnaround for Priyansh Arya. Dr Jamie takes us through the mindset needed to succeed across a long tournament like the IPL, in which you're bound to fail along the way - perhaps more often than you do succeed. Next we talk about the Sunrisers Hyderabad after Abhishek Sharma's outrageous 141, which saw them chase down almost 250 and maybe kick-start their turnaround. Is it time to load up on SRH stock? Or are there still worrying signs? Things get dark when discussion turns to CSK - the intent has disappeared, no one is scoring runs and not even MS Dhoni cameos can really get the crowd excited any more. Can they turn it around? Or is it already time to sell all our stock despite it reaching an all-time low? To round out the show, we detour briefly to talk about Harry Brook's appointment as England captain, we talk Digvesh Rathi's celebrations, Vipraj Nigam establishing DC's spin trio & Nicholas Pooran's six-hitting prowess as LSG continue to impress. We expect to be back in your feed later in the week with more IPL coverage. In this episode of the show, Raj and Stu look back at two midweek games: Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans. We start by discussing the most recent game, which saw Gujarat spoil Raj's return to our IPL coverage with a dominant win in Bengaluru. Mohammed Siraj knocked the top off the RCB batting lineup and despite a recovery through the middle and a messy fielding performance from GT, it turned out that 169 wasn't close to enough. Sai Sudharsan set the platform for GT in the powerplay, before Jos Buttler's 73 guided them home. Next we move to Punjab's impressive win against LSG. There's talk about Shreyas Iyer's excellent run of form, PBKS's Indian core doing the business, LSG's absences, Nicholas Pooran's ball-striking and whether it's time to start worrying about Rishabh Pant's lack of runs. To finish, there's a quick look ahead to the upcoming SRH v KKR clash - a 2024 final rematch that now shapes as an important fixture for different reasons in 2025. We continue our IPL preview for 2025 with discussions about Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals. LSG enter this year with a much changed team. Rishabh Pant is the big signing, but do him and Pooran have enough between them to elevate the Super giants? Delhi Capitals look to have improved in some areas, and come in with a bowling attack featuring players like Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav. However on the batting side things look weaker, what will happen to them in this year's Indian Premier League? And Chennai Super Kings have re-upped on their spin heavy approach. Ashwin is back and he will be joined by Noor Ahmed, as they make an effort to help MS Dhoni win another trophy.
