Join Mary and her best friend Lindsley Brooks as they dig in deeper to talk about spiritual bypassing. When we experience emotions that feel “too big” or “too painful” we tend to find all kinds of covert ways to avoid “the work”. Many positive things that we incorporate into our lives with good intention can end up being used to help us cope and bring us comfort when life throws hard things at us. Prayer, meditation, astrology, spirituality, and religion are all things we might find ourselves turning to in order to bypass our emotions, pain, and struggles. The intention is good, but these “tools” can often keep us in a place where we avoid or ignore the feelings pointing us to places where we need healing. Part of being human is feeling a full range of emotions, experiencing highs and lows, and having a biological response to whatever is happening in our lives. When we choose to bypass our emotions, we self abandon and break trust with ourselves. When we choose to sit with our emotions and truly heal we create the opportunity to live fully alive!   ON THIS EPISODE WE WILL DISCUSS… - What “spiritual bypassing” is - How we use positive things to bury our pain - How spiritual bypassing can feel like the enlightened choice - Creating space to accept our full range of emotions - Attaching morality to emotions - Giving ourselves permission to be fully human - The addiction of spirituality to escape reality - 3 Steps to avoid spiritual bypassing - And more!    — SEASON 3: In this 8 part series we will be talking about Feeling To Heal in order to Live Fully Alive   ---   Text Me: https://maryhyatt.com/text Follow Me On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/maryghyatt/  Full List of Episodes & Show Notes: https://www.maryhyatt.com/show Subscribe to My Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/maryhyatt

Join Mary and her former part time co-host and best friend, Lindsley Brooks as they dig into how emotional intelligence affects your interpersonal relationships. We all learned in our childhoods emotional survival techniques. We learned how to be seen, get love, and gain approval. These emotional blueprints and patterns often come with us into adulthood causing us to abandon ourselves in order to attempt to get our needs met. How do we learn something new? How do we learn to be in a healthy relationship with another person? When we find ourselves stuck in these patterns it is time to face the hard work of undoing the foundation of our patterning. Listen as Mary and Lindsley candidly talk about how when we notice the roles we played as children showing up in our adult relationships, it is really an invitation to do the work to usher in deeper healing.   ON THIS EPISODE WE WILL DISCUSS… - Identifying the roles you played as a child to get your needs met - The importance of doing relationships well - How and why we self abandon in relationships - Indicators that you might be emotionally codependent - What “Spiritual Bypassing” is and how you might be doing it - The definition of “Gaslighting” and how it shows up in relationships - Why emotional dysregulation is really a cry for safety - Why emotional regulation is really about creating wholeness - And more!    — SEASON 3: In this 8 part series we will be talking about Feeling To Heal in order to Live Fully Alive --- Text Me: https://maryhyatt.com/text Follow Me On Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/maryghyatt/  Full List of Episodes & Show Notes: https://www.maryhyatt.com/showSubscribe to My Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/maryhyatt

This is scientifically proven. In Eastern medicine this is referred to as the subtle body. If you are wanting to live a holistic and healthy life, we have to become mindful of the subtle body and how to best support it. Our different energy centers, also known as Chakras, play a role in the function of certain emotions, organs, and parts of our body. When our energy isn't flowing well, it can create disease and dysfunction in the physical body. When we connect the physical body and the energetic body we can better pinpoint areas of our life that we need to focus on and bring better balance to.  ON THIS EPISODE WE WILL DISCUSS… -The roots of modern medicine -The 7 main Chakras  -Bringing balance to your energy centers -How the earth can help to heal our physical body  -Reclaiming your right to be here -The power of our words over our physical body -How the physical body often mirrors our emotions -And more!  — SEASON 2: Each month will be a deep dive into a topic that supports you on your journey to living more fully alive. Join Mary and her part-time cohost, Lindsley Brooks, as they discuss the importance of building integrity with yourself. Self integrity and self worth go hand in hand with one another. When we don’t follow through with integrity with ourselves we not only start to lose trust in ourselves, but we are also willing to tolerate others treating us without respect and integrity. We may find ourselves abandoning self in order to be loved and accepted. This is the ultimate form of breaking self integrity and self sabotage. When we choose self integrity we boost our sense of self confidence and we say yes to a long term relationship of trust WITH OURSELVES. If we can tap into our future self and allow that person to begin to make our decisions, we can override our old programming and make change from a place of wholeness and who we want to be!      ON THIS EPISODE WE WILL DISCUSS… - The real definition of integrity - How self sabotage and self integrity can’t coexist  - How fear impacts self sabotage    - What happens when you live divided from your own self  - Real life examples of what self sabotage looks like - How you do one thing is how you do all things - The sneaky ways we micro sabotage - Letting your future self make your choices - Identifying indicators that we are out of alignment with ourselves - And more!    — SEASON 2: Each month will be a deep dive into a topic that supports you on your journey to living more fully alive. As women we have a lot of suggestions, expectations, and roles we are supposed to follow and fulfill. That often puts us in a box unsure how to integrate our whole feminine self. We aren’t encouraged to explore all aspects of who we were, and instead get stuck between only a couple “good girl” options. Sadly, we live in a culture that glorifies and rewards “the hustle.” And workaholism is a socially acceptable form of addiction. It is often rewarded with success, money, status, and acknowledgement. But when we cross the line from just being someone who works hard, to straight hustlin’, the rest of our life begins to suffer. Eventually our physical, mental, and emotional health starts to deteriorate. And the relationships with our loved ones become strained. This is our wake up call. It’s vital that we begin to add in new rhythms of rest into our daily lives to create a little more balance. How many of us have bounced from relationship to relationship, seeing the same patterns showing up every time, and wondering how do we stop this? We are in a culture obsessed with dating. The thought of being alone for many is our worst fear. We find ourselves constantly looking for someone to fill a void and make us happy, only to be disappointed over and over again.
