Ever felt powerless in front of the pantry, like you're watching someone else control the snacks? That creeping shame after a binge is rough. In this candid talk, Lyndsay Soprano sits down with Amber Abila—a woman who's been there, who's been through it, and who found herself on the other side.Amber opens up about her binge-eating journey, peeling back the layers to reveal how dieting, stress, and outdated habits rewired her brain into a food-fueled panic button. She takes us into the real work she did to reset her relationship with food—mindset shifts, self-talk work, mindful bites, and small victories that don't come in bite-sized packaging.Together, they break it down: the difference between real hunger and emotional hunger, the power of speaking kindly to yourself, and how rewriting your food story means seeing your body as an ally—not an adversary. This isn't about perfection or sealing off your feelings. It's about curiosity, reclaiming trust in your body, and learning that food doesn't have to be the boss of you.Let this episode be the reminder that recovery is possible—even if it feels messy, slow, and confusing. You're allowed to rewrite your story.Tune in if you've ever felt caught in the binge cycle. We had a real aha moment — the kind that hits when you're bone-tired, frustrated, and feeling like life is just happening to you instead of you leading it. We were checking all the "healthy living" boxes — eating right, working hard, staying productive — but still felt stuck. Exhausted. Out of sync with our own bodies. That's when everything shifted. We realized we were missing the most basic elements of health — and not just us, but our clients, families, and even our kids. So we got back to the fundamentals. We call it the OWNER framework: Oxygen, Water, Nutrition, Enough sleep, and Respecting our bodies. Key Takeaways:Breathing is where it all begins. Most of us mouth-breathe without realizing it, especially at night — and it's wrecking our sleep, focus, and even our kids' development. We learned that nasal breathing filters the air, improves oxygen flow, and reduces anxiety. Total game-changer. Water isn't just hydration — it's detox, digestion, and nutrient transport. We were shocked to learn that mouth breathing can cause us to lose up to 40% more water, leaving us chronically dehydrated without knowing it. And not all water is created equal: pH balance, filtration, and minerals matter. Nutrition today isn't what it was for our grandparents. Our soil is depleted, our bodies are overloaded with toxins, and our digestion is struggling. We started treating food like medicine — not just fuel — and focused on what helps our bodies thrive, not just what keeps us full. Sleep is powerful. Lack of quality, uninterrupted sleep throws our hormones, metabolism, and mood into chaos. We stopped glorifying the hustle and started respecting our bodies' need for real rest. Respecting our bodies means listening to symptoms. Bleeding gums, hair loss, mood swings, weight gain — it's all feedback. We quit ignoring the signs and started owning our health, our choices, and our outcomes. We also talked about reprogramming our brains. Our thoughts shape our biology. If we keep replaying old scripts of “not enough” or “it won't work for me,” our bodies believe it. Instead, we're now thinking with intention, visualizing our healthiest selves, and creating habits that align with the life we actually want. This isn't magic — it's neuroscience. And it starts with daily repetition and belief in our worthiness. We don't wait for a diagnosis anymore. We own our health now — and that's changed everything. Book a consultation today:I am always here to help answer any question and schedule a 15 minute call with me. If I can not help, I can get you to a provider that can.https://shereewertz.com/15-min

In this powerful episode, I sit down with a friend of mine, Sianai (her bio below), to explore the magical work of water researcher Veda Austin. Veda's studies on water intelligence reveal how water observes itself through every living organism in the universe, carrying consciousness, memory, and energy. (ITS WILD!)One of Veda's most mind-blowing discoveries comes from her experiments photographing water as it crystallizes before freezing. Her findings show that water responds instantly to thoughts, emotions, and even images, proving the profound impact of our energy and intentions. Sianai and I were so intrigued that we even tried the experiment ourselves! We dive deep into the connection between water, energy, and the mind-body relationship, discussing how these insights can transform the way we think about self-care, manifestation, and healing. Since our bodies are mostly made of water, this episode is a powerful reminder of the importance of being kind to ourselves and the incredible role our minds play in shaping our reality.Get ready for an eye-opening conversation filled with takeaways that may just change the way you see water, energy and yourself!Visit Veda's work here and click on the ‘examples' tab to see her experiments! Ellyn Katherine Shamalov, Millennial, joins us to discuss a bit more about loss, grief, separation, self-acceptance, and manifestation. Ellyn is an Enlightenment Mentor, Quantum Healer, International Speaker, 2x Best-selling Author + Soul-care Coach specializing in the Akashic Records. In early 2023, Ellyn's life was upended when her partner made the decision to take his life. From despair, grief, guilt, and anger, she found herself immersed in emotional struggles that tested her resolve like never before. Ellyn utilized her own Quantum Enlightenment System and illuminated years of anguish, despite the common belief of grief's never-ending cycle. In this loss, she has been able to claim wisdom and enlightenment and continues to thrive in strength and empowerment. Ellyn's goal is to support others as they embark on their journey by clearing any self-doubt, limiting beliefs, past traumas, and generational patterns. In doing so they will be able to transcend fear, express their authentic inner self, feel liberated and joyful, and step into the realm of living their most authentic expression of their sovereign self. Topics covered in the Episode: Quantum Enlightenment System Seven Life Lessons Separation & Grief & Forgiveness & Guilt Feedback & Triggering Manifestation = Recognition + Acceptance + Choice Law of Reflection Here are three takeaways from the episode: 1. Our reaction to life is not determined by what's happening around us or to us, but rather what's happening inside us. Everything is a mirror of us. 2. The Seven Life Lessons are: acceptance of change, the power of gratitude, embracing failure as a teacher, letting go of control, live authentically, the importance of connection, and finding meaning in adversity. These lessons can be applied to grief, leadership, or any other area of personal development. 3. Manifestation (Recognition + Acceptance + Choice) is about the law of reflection which is about consciously shaping our thoughts, beliefs, and actions to align with our goals. Join me for a powerful exploration of the influence of language in our lives in this special, debut edition of “Skip's Quips.” Today, I share a wisdom lesson that highlights the profound impact words can have on our bodies and minds. A seemingly innocent phrase once caused me to faint in my doctor's office. This incident underscores how words can trigger intense physical reactions, from fear to laughter. By sharing this experience, I hope to illustrate the incredible influence words wield, not only in causing fear but also in creating positive outcomes. In addition to this personal tale, we explore the broader implications of our language choices. Words have the power to either uplift or deflate us—and those around us. As you head into the coming week, I challenge you to reflect on how your words might affect others. Whether it's offering encouragement to a friend, family member, or teammate, remember that your words hold significant power. Let's harness the power of words to shape our experiences and reactions positively. Where's the Special Guest and What's a “Skip's Quip?" We are doing something a little different. I'll be sharing a wisdom lesson with you—but there won't be a guest. Just me, sharing wisdom. A short wisdom lesson - about 9 minutes total. We plan to do these about 6 times a year. We're calling these special editions - “Skip's Quips.” Don't worry, we will still bring you wisdom conversations with our special guests twice a month. Additionally, you will receive “Skip's Quips” to supplement to our regular wisdom programming. Let us know what you think, and please share your feedback. You can do that via SpeakPipe.
