Why do you always seem to quit your diet right when things start getting hard? In this episode, I'm breaking down the real reason: you may be pre-deciding that you can't lose weight before you even begin. I explain how expecting to fail wires your brain to look for proof you "can't do it," why normal mistakes turn into full-blown meltdowns, and how to stop self-sabotaging your weight loss without needing more willpower. If you've ever said: "I always mess this up." "I can't stick with anything." "Weight loss just doesn't work for me." This one will really make a big difference.   Get the Free Course here: http://NoBSFreeCourse.com

It's Friday. Pause for a breath you didn't know you were holding. Exhale. This week's Soft Landings affirmation is for the woman who keeps mistaking her patterns for her personality. For every midlife woman who's been fighting the thing she does instead of getting curious about why she does it.Today's Affirmation: "My patterns kept me safe. I get to thank them and want something different."The thing you keep doing – the overfunctioning, the over-explaining, the keeping yourself small, the white-knuckling your independence, whatever yours is – it wasn't a mistake. It was a solution. A really smart one, for circumstances that once required exactly that response. It kept you safe. It kept you steady. It did its job.The problem isn't that you're broken. The problem is that the pattern is still running the same programme for a situation that no longer exists. Like a smoke alarm going off because you forgot your bagel in the toaster. So today, instead of fighting it or shaming it or trying to think your way out of it – what if you just said thank you? Thank you for protecting me when I needed protecting. I'm okay now. You can rest. You don't have to dismantle a pattern to be free of it. Sometimes you just need to stop treating it like an enemy and start treating it like a part of you that was doing its best with what it had. That's not giving up. That's actually where the shift begins.Save. Share. Come back when you need the reminder.

What if the biggest obstacle standing between you and your next level... is you? In this raw and revealing episode of PivotMe, April Garcia pulls back the curtain on the silent success killer that most high achievers never see coming — self-sabotage. If you've ever wondered why you keep getting in your own way, this episode will hand you the mirror you didn't know you needed. Key Takeaways: Self-Sabotage is the Core Problem: April establishes self-sabotage as the central theme of PivotMe — and for good reason. Until you identify the behaviors quietly undermining your progress, no strategy, system, or hustle will get you where you want to go. Why It's Hard to See in Yourself: It's often easier to spot self-sabotage in others than in ourselves. April explores why our blind spots are so stubbornly... blind — and what it takes to finally see them clearly. Your Success Depends on It: Controlling self-sabotaging behavior isn't a soft skill — it's directly tied to your results. April connects the dots between inner patterns and outer outcomes. Three Flavors of Self-Sabotage: Perfectionism: The pursuit of perfect is often the enemy of done. April unpacks how perfectionism is less about high standards and more about fear — fear of failure, judgment, and being exposed. White Knight Syndrome: Constantly rescuing others from their problems feels noble, but it's often a clever way to avoid your own. April breaks down the allure of being everyone's hero and the cost it carries. Creative Avoidance: This one's sneaky. It looks like productivity — you're busy, you're checking boxes — but you're intentionally steering clear of the high-value tasks that actually move the needle. Awareness is the First Step: You can't change what you can't see. April emphasizes that awareness isn't just helpful — it's the gateway to making a different choice. The Challenge: April closes with a direct call to action: identify your personal flavor of self-sabotage and build a plan to break the pattern. You're not stuck. You're just choosing — and you can choose differently. Notable Quotes: "Self-sabotage doesn't announce itself. It disguises itself as perfectionism, helpfulness, and busyness." — April Garcia "Awareness without action is just entertainment. See it, own it, change it." — April Garcia Actionable Items: Honestly audit your week — where did you stall, over-perfect, rescue someone, or stay "busy" to avoid something important? Identify which of the three forms of self-sabotage shows up most in your life: perfectionism, white knighting, or creative avoidance. Name one high-value task you've been avoiding and schedule it as your first priority tomorrow. Share your self-sabotage pattern with one trusted person who will hold you accountable. Write down what your life looks like if you stop self-sabotaging for 90 days — and read it every morning. ---------------- Ready to take this work beyond the podcast? Have you ever felt like things are finally going well… and then somehow you start getting in your own way? In this episode of the Happy Mind Happy Life Podcast, Michelle Woerdeman explores the hidden patterns of self-sabotage and how unconscious beliefs can quietly influence our actions. Building on a previous episode ( https://www.podbean.com/eas/pb-ag296-1a39f88 ) about how the emotional energy we bring to our desires can shape the outcomes we create, Michelle dives deeper into the psychology behind why we sometimes block the very things we want. Drawing on insights from psychologist Carl Jung, she explores the role of the unconscious mind and how bringing awareness to our thoughts and patterns can help us begin creating meaningful change. Michelle also shares a simple mindset shift inspired by Gabrielle Bernstein: asking yourself “What's the next best thought?” — a gentle way to move beyond limiting beliefs and begin creating new possibilities. Are you feeling overwhelmed by the constant negativity and chaos in the world? In this powerful episode of the Rich Mind Podcast, Randy Wilson shares a deeply personal journey of moving from a state of constant self-sabotage and a "lack mindset" to one of peace, clarity, and success. He reveals a critical secret: the headlines, social media, and constant bad news are often just "noise" designed to keep you trapped in fear. Drawing on the universal Law of Polarity—the principle that everything has an equal and opposite—Randy explains that where there is perceived negativity, there is also an equal amount of opportunity and good. This episode is a call to action to "Turn Off the Noise" and reclaim control of your mind. Randy provides practical strategies, including a 5-second pause technique and the power of journaling, to help you catch your negative patterns and consciously flip them to see the abundance around you. If you are ready to stop being a victim of your external environment and start designing the life you desire, this episode is your essential guide.   Key Takeaways: The constant stream of negative news is often "noise" designed to keep you trapped in a state of fear and lack. To achieve success, you must first become aware of your own thinking patterns, especially the tendency to self-sabotage. The Law of Polarity states that for everything that appears negative, an equal and opposite positive exists. The ability to control the critical 5-second gap between a trigger and your reaction is the key to changing your results. "Turning Off the Noise" (news, social media) is a practical and necessary step to reclaim your mental clarity. Connecting with your inner child and the things you loved to do as a kid can help you discover your true purpose and passion.   Questions Answered in This Episode: Why do I automatically look for the negative in every new opportunity? How can I stop self-sabotaging my own success? What is the Law of Polarity and how can it change my perspective? How can I protect my mind from the constant negativity in the news and media? What are practical ways to "turn off the noise" in my daily life? How can I find more peace and clarity when the world feels chaotic?   Key People, Concepts, & Terms: People: Randy Wilson. Hello to you listening in Auckland, New Zealand! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate  Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga. As the oldest of 7 children I learned early on the innate wisdom toddlers bring to the game of life. They know how to say No! And then the world shows them the error of their ways. We grow up saying Yes when we mean No! What changed? We were taught that saying Yes is right, good, proper, helpful even and saying No! is just plain wrong. The problem is the more we say Yes when we mean No we forget how to make choices in our own best interest and well-being. This self-sabotage robs us of our ability to choose wisely, of our personal power, of our legitimate right to say No! with certainty, confidence, and clarity. Of course, there's nothing wrong with saying Yes so long as we agree with ourselves, are not limited in our options, feeling compelled, or thinking we will be rejected or worse.  It takes practice to practice saying No! As you get better at it you will come to value saying what you mean and meaning what you say.   Practical Tip: When asked to take on work you want to decline, say this, “No. It's good work; but it's not my work.” And thank you for listening!    You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Mahima Razdan, a rapid transformational therapist and hypnotherapist, shares how a painful breakup led her to uncover a childhood fear of abandonment that was silently shaping her relationships and choices. After traditional therapy provided insight but not relief, hypnotherapy helped her access the subconscious memory driving her emotional patterns—and everything changed. In this episode, she explains how Rapid Transformational Therapy works, why burnout is more about safety and meaning than long hours, how emotional wounds can impact weight and self-sabotage, and why the belief “I am enough” can transform confidence, career alignment, and relationships.

Send me a some feedback! In Part 8 of the Unbreakable series, Mike and Angie unpack one of the most confronting and irritating human patterns: self-sabotage. This episode explores how the nervous system, wired for familiarity over safety, unconsciously pulls us back to what it knows — even when life improves. From relationships to wealth to personal growth, they break down how “upper limits” show up and why we repeatedly sabotage joy, stability, and success when things get “too good.”Through personal stories, financial examples, addiction patterns, and relationship breakdowns, they reveal how self-sabotage isn't intentional — it's unconscious. And once you see it, you can't unsee it. This episode challenges you to stop blaming circumstances and start examining where your own nervous system may be quietly resetting your life back to its familiar baseline.Key TakeawaysYour nervous system prioritizes familiarity over safety. It keeps you alive by keeping you in what it knows — even if that environment is unhealthy.Self-sabotage is not conscious. It's an unconscious nervous system response when life exceeds your current capacity for joy, love, or wealth. You can be wired to have success but not wired to hold it. Without expanding your internal capacity, growth will trigger contraction.Upper limits affect every area of life. Financial growth can trip relationship issues. Relationship peace can trigger health problems. Everything is interconnected.Your “financial thermostat” determines your set point. If you exceed it, you'll unconsciously find a way to reset back to your familiar baseline — until you expand your capacity.Notable Quotes“The nervous system has one job and one job only and that's to keep you alive.”“It keeps you alive by keeping you in familiar circumstances.”“When things get too good, we fuck it up.”“When there's no reason for our joy and our happiness and fulfillment and the love in our heart to go away and it does, that's self-sabotage.”“If you're used to a low quality of life, your nervous system wants you to have it. And if you're used to a high quality of life, your nervous system wants you to have it because it knows how to operate there.”Call To ActionIf this conversation resonates, it's pointing to the deeper work—learning how to regulate internally instead of expecting life, success, or relationships to regulate you.

A single question from a five-year-old stopped a suicide attempt and set a new life in motion. From there, Tara Wiskow lost 220 pounds naturally, faced the inner chaos that weight loss didn't fix, and rebuilt her identity with practical self-love, NLP timeline work, and intuitive energy healing. We dig into the hard truths behind people pleasing, the quiet ways self-sabotage steals midlife joy, and the daily practices that make healing stick. We start with soul-aligned journaling—the deceptively simple act of writing from the life you want—and how it surfaces real desires, buried needs, and the beliefs that block them. Tara explains power statements and mirror work as nervous system training, not fluff: stand taller, speak worth, and watch your energy shift. Then we go under the hood with NLP and mental-emotional release to find the root cause of limiting beliefs. Those “I'm not good enough” files usually start early; once the original imprint is released, your mind stops gathering proof for a story that never belonged to you. From there, we explore intuitive energy healing in plain language: where dense emotion lives in the body, how release happens with consent and presence, and why it matters to refill cleared space with peace, love, and confidence so old patterns don't return. Along the way, we connect grief, identity, and midlife transition—how loss can unmask who we really are and why this season is a powerful time to come home to yourself. Expect clear takeaways: one boundary to set, one ritual to keep, one belief to examine, and one sentence to claim in the mirror. If your outside has changed but the inside is loud, you're not broken—you're unfinished. Press play, then tell us the one belief you're ready to release. If this resonated, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a quick review so more midlife women can find their way back to themselves.BioTara Wiskow, an intuitive energy healer and life reinvention expert who helps women break free from self-abandonment, self-sabotage, and the cycle of people-pleasing. Randy is back! After a break to welcome a new grandchild, Randy returns with a powerful and vulnerable episode that goes deep into the core of The Gap Thinking Framework. Why do we so often self-sabotage when faced with a new opportunity? Why is our first instinct to say, "I can't" or "I shouldn't"? Randy explains that the answer lies in our "BS" (Beliefs and Stories)—the subconscious programming from our past that dictates our automatic reactions. He shares a deeply personal story about how a "lack mindset" instilled in childhood has held him back for decades, and how it almost stopped him from pursuing a major new business venture just yesterday. In this episode, you'll learn how to identify when you are trapped in a "narrow gap" of old thinking and how to consciously widen that space to choose a different path. Randy challenges the idea that you need to know the "how" before you act, arguing that faith and a belief in your own ability to choose are the real keys to success. This is a masterclass in moving from being a habitual thinker on autopilot to becoming an active thinker who designs their own life. Mentioned in this episode: The Gap Thinking Framework, beliefs and stories (BS), self-sabotage, lack mindset, triggers, narrow vs. wide gap, faith, decision-making, Henry Ford quote, personal development. Ready to identify the patterns that are holding you back? Take the free Gap Thinking Framework Assessment at richmind.co     Key Takeaways: The Gap Thinking Framework is about controlling the critical split-second window between a trigger (stimulus) and your reaction. Most of our life is lived on autopilot, but we can't afford to let our big life decisions be made by habitual thinking. Your "BS" (Beliefs and Stories) are the subconscious programs, often formed in childhood, that dictate your automatic reactions to new opportunities. A "narrow gap" occurs when you instantly revert to old, safe beliefs of "I can't" or "I shouldn't," leading to self-sabotage. You don't need to know the "how" before you take action. The key is to step out in faith and belief, and the resources will appear. Randy shares a transparent example of being triggered by an old "lack mindset" while researching a new business venture and how he overcame it. The famous Henry Ford quote, "Whether you believe you can, or believe you can't, either way, you're correct," is the foundation of this episode.     Questions Answered in This Episode:   Why has there been a break in the podcast episodes? (Hint: A new grandbaby!) How do my childhood beliefs and stories affect my adult decisions? What is a "narrow gap" and how does it lead to self-sabotage? Why do I automatically think "I can't" when presented with a big opportunity? How can I stop letting my past define my future? What do I do when I'm triggered by fear and doubt? Why don't I need to know the full plan before I take the first step? How can I shift from being a "habitual thinker" to an "active thinker"?     Key People, Concepts, & Terms: People: Randy Wilson, Henry Ford, David Neagle. Concepts: The GAP, Gap Thinking Framework, Beliefs and Stories (BS), Self-Sabotage, Triggers, Patterns, Narrow Gap vs. Wide Gap, Habitual vs. Active Thinking, Faith, Lack Mindset, Abundance. Do you ever feel like there's a relentless critic living inside your head?   The one that questions your worth, second-guesses your decisions, and tells you that you're not enough — as a husband, father, or leader?   In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, I sit down with Ashleigh Di Lello, founder of Bio Emotional Healing, to unpack the neuroscience behind the inner critic, self-sabotage, chronic stress, and identity. Ashleigh shares her extraordinary story — from being told at 13 she wouldn't survive a rare viral illness, to rebuilding her body and career as an elite dancer, to losing everything again after a failed surgery left her in chronic pain. What she discovered about the brain, the nervous system, and self-compassion doesn't just apply to injury — it applies to every man stuck in anxiety, pressure, and silent self-judgment.   This isn't about positive thinking. It's about understanding how your nervous system works, how identity is formed, and how to rewire the patterns that keep you reactive, disconnected, and exhausted. If you're tired of white-knuckling life and ready for real tools grounded in neuroscience, this episode is for you.     Timeline Summary [0:00] The inner critic most men silently battle [2:05] Ashleigh's diagnosis at 13 and being told she wouldn't survive [18:45] Using mental rehearsal to rebuild neural pathways [26:43] Losing her career after a failed surgery [30:45] Studying neuroscience to "flip the pain switch" [35:12] What harsh self-criticism does to the brain [44:16] The five-minute "container" exercise [59:06] Rewriting identity through intentional self-talk     Five Key Takeaways Harsh self-criticism activates fight-or-flight and blocks growth. Self-compassion is neurological safety — not weakness. Your brain validates whatever identity you reinforce. You can't lie to your brain, but you can guide it. Join Nick Lamagna in this raw, no-holds-barred episode of The A Game Podcast: Real Estate Investing for Entrepreneurs, where he sits down with real estate powerhouse Dave Payerchin - a man who's done over 1,000 deals, owned 400+ rental properties, raised $65M in private money, and then lost it ALL… twice. Dave is an investor, an educator and entrepreneur that doesn't hold back: the bankruptcies, the IRS wipeouts, the waiting tables after making $180K his first year, the full-blown alcohol and drug addiction that nearly destroyed his family, and the internal demons that almost ended his comeback for good. He is the founder of Sale House Columbus, Columbus Turnkey Houses and runs a national and local organization known as The CREAM, spreading the knowledge of cash flow, real estate and money with RJ Pepino. But this isn't just another real estate investing podcast. This is the conversation about why information alone doesn't make you rich, why self-sabotage is built into your DNA, and how the real game is won (or lost) between your ears. Topics from this episode include: ✅ How to rebuild self-worth after losing everything ✅ Why your daily habits are more important than your deal flow ✅ The spiritual and psychological reasons high-performers self-destruct ✅ How to channel addictive personalities into unstoppable drive ✅ The exact non-negotiable routines that rebuilt his trust in himself and his lenders ✅ Why ego, comparison, and "how many doors do you have?" culture is destroying investors  Whether you're a real estate investor trying to scale without blowing up, an entrepreneur tired of the boom-and-bust cycle, or an athlete who knows the mental game is everything - this episode will hit you in the soul.  If you've ever made money, lost money, battled your own mind, or wondered why you keep getting in your own way… this one's for you.

In this episode, Ian sits down with John Assaraf, entrepreneur, behavioral neuroscience educator, and founder of NeuroGym, for a conversation about the invisible forces that shape performance — long after planning, analysis, and good intentions are in place. John shares his personal journey from a turbulent upbringing to building multiple multimillion-dollar businesses, and the pivotal moment at age 19 that reframed how he thought about success, identity, and commitment. From there, the discussion moves into the neuroscience behind habits, automatic behavior, fear, and why people often snap back to familiar results — even when they know what to do. This is not a trading tactics episode. It's a conversation about execution, follow-through, and the human side of performance — in trading, business, health, and life. About the guest: John Assaraf is a serial entrepreneur who has built multiple multimillion-dollar companies, including helping scale a real estate organization to over $4 billion in annual sales and co-founding a technology company that later went public on the NASDAQ. He is the founder and CEO of NeuroGym, where he focuses on applying neuroscience to performance, habits, and behavior change. John is also the author of several New York Times bestselling books, translated into dozens of languages, and has been featured in films such as The Secret, where many people were first introduced to his work.   Links + Resources:  Free eBook: The Power of Visualization    Sponsor of Chat With Traders Podcast:  Trade The Pool:  http://www.tradethepool.com   Time Stamps: Please note: Exact times will vary depending on current ads.   00:00   Intro and Background 11:16   Mindset Shift: Interested vs. Committed 11:46   Behavioral Neuroscience and Goal Achievement 16:17   Conscious vs. Subconscious Mind 17:12   Creating Permanent Behavioral Changes 21:22   Emotional Regulation and Decision Making 25:30   Overcoming Self-Sabotage 35:20   AddressingFear in Decision Making 42:37   Inner Size: Exercising the Mind 44:27   Self-Sabotage and Financial Set Points 48:21   The Science of Goal Setting 50:17   Visualizing and Embodying Goals 54:40   How to reach John   Trading Disclaimer: Trading in the financial markets involves a risk of loss.
