At the beginning of Matthew 18, Jesus is confronted by His disciples with the question of who is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Calling a little child to Himself as an example, Jesus told them that anyone who wanted to enter the Kingdom of Heaven must become as humble as a little child. “Childlike faith and trust in GOD is the key to true contentment and soul rest.”

My sin is not just my failure to reach God's standards, it's a failure to treasure his invitation; a lack of trust in his ways; an unwillingness to surrender. An un-surrendered sin-soaked soul is life's greatest problem. It leads to addiction, ravages marriages andbreaks families, it hardens hearts, creates anxiety filled souls and drains joy. It keeps us from loving our neighbors, because we end up caring so much for stuff that matters so little. A sin-soaked un-surrendered soul is life's greatest problem. So if we want rest for our souls we need to surrender. What do you need to surrender for the sake of your soul? If  we want rest for our souls...we need to practice the posture of surrender.

When we are weary and we are doing too much, it has a tendency to affect every area in our lives and it's hard to be motivated to keep up with the good. The enemy wants us exhausted and tired and burned out. So, how do we get a leg up? What are some ways that we can take intentional action?   Today's episode gives 4 Simple Ways that can help you Transform the Way You Feel and Give Your Soul Rest.   How many of us find ourselves constantly caught up in the whirlwind of daily life? We wake up early, rush to get our families ready for the day's demands, manage work, juggle household chores, and shuttle our kids from one activity to another. It's overwhelming. It's a never-ending cycle of commitments and responsibilities. I see you, because I've been there too and depending on the week, I openly confess that I very much live out this reality at times too.   Today, we are unpacking this layer by layer and talking about intentional things we can do to help change the way we feel…from exhausted and overwhelmed to feeling more rested and present in the day to day… to creating more space…essential space - a space where our souls can be truly fed and replenished. Take a walk around the block or cozy up on the couch and join me for the next few minutes as we uncover simple and effective ways to fill the void so many of us are feeling and find the fulfillment we've been seeking so we can move from feeling tired and burned out to feeling truly aligned and energized within the work that God has called us to.   Set up a free connection call by clicking the link.   >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>   Connect with Lindsay: - Free FB Community: Faith Led Working Moms Community - Instagram: FaithLedWorkingMoms - LinkedIn: Lindsay Walker - Email: lindsaywalkerllc@gmail.com

Today, I'm sharing the last of four episodes on the theme of rest. If you haven't listened to the first three, I encourage you to go back. These have been some of the most important episodes I've offered in our six-and-a-half years as a podcast.  As we continue to navigate so many changes that have come to so many of us in these last few years, I wonder how tired you feel inside. I'm not talking about the sort of tired that a nap would resolve or a good night's sleep might address. I'm talking about a deeper tired—a weariness of soul.  I've found myself wrestling with weariness at levels that has often surprised me. My wife, Gem, and I have both had to be far more intentional about finding the deep rest our souls need from God. In this episode, I'll share what we've been learning. I'm hopeful you'll find it helpful.  _________________________________________________________Connect with Alan on LinkedIn or learn more about Unhurried Living programs on their website.

In today's episode, we are thrilled to have Whitney Kroneberger, a dedicated Life Coach for Christian Female Entrepreneurs, join us to delve deep into the realms of self-discovery, mindful entrepreneurship, and finding the elusive soul rest amidst the hustle. Whitney's unique coaching approach has been a beacon of light for many entrepreneurs facing burnout, loneliness, and shame. Through her Mastermind program, The Well, she's creating a nurturing community that empowers Christian women entrepreneurs to tread the path of self-awareness, overcoming shame, and confidently stepping into their purpose. Our conversation takes a reflective turn as Whitney elaborates on the importance of understanding one's identity as a Christian Female Entrepreneur. She introduces us to the concept of ‘boundaries of the mind' and how establishing them is a cornerstone in achieving true soul rest. Whitney deciphers the shame cycle and the deterrent it poses on fulfilling one's divine assignment. Our discussion further navigates through the essence of soul rest and why it extends beyond mere physical rest. As someone who has transitioned from a dream career in Talent Acquisition to finding her calling in life coaching, Whitney shares her insightful journey and how it has shaped her perspective in aiding others to find joy in the life they've built while scaling their businesses. The episode is peppered with Whitney's wisdom on how community, group coaching, and masterminds like The Well can act as catalysts in mitigating burnout and fostering a supportive environment for ambitious Christian female Entrepreneurs. Whitney's passion resonates through her podcast, The Original Female Entrepreneur, where she explores the biblical essence of entrepreneurship drawing parallels with the Proverbs 31 woman. Today, she brings that passion to our show, providing a blend of spiritual insight and practical advice on curating soul rest, making confident decisions, and understanding the dichotomy between one's purpose and assignment. Curtis Zackery joins us on this episode of The Bible Connection Podcast to talk about his new book, Soul Rest. This book was born out of Curtis' own history with finding identity in his work and his ministry and seeks to show how often we push to do more of God's Work without stopping to see if God is with us in the work. In the Bible, God gives us the example of resting from work and finding refreshment in the work only God can do - a practice that Curtis stresses the importance of today. Every feature in Abide is designed to teach and develop Scripture-engagement habits that help you know the power and spiritual nourishment of abiding in Christ. Quoted Scripture:  Genesis 2:2: “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.”  Exodus 31:17: “It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.” Matthew 11:28-29: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Ephesians 2:8-10: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Romans 12:1-4: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. What does it mean to live and not just survive?  We're eternal creatures with souls.  Christie says that our soul is the life of the body. Lisa-Jo asks, "How can we rest without checking out?"  Step outside of your normal rhythms.  What does rest look like when we turn to the Lord?  What extra burdens are we putting on ourselves. If you feel like you're dying, we have some helpful thoughts for you.  We can practice a soul rest in the midst.  God breathed life into us in the beginning. Let the Holy Spirit breathe into us now.  What does my soul even need? In the past three years, all of us have been through so much and we've held on to each other.  Let's all look around and ask, Is my soul connected to my body? Whether it's life stage, a special circumstance, or specific struggle, we're all tired. Sometimes exhausted. Jesus meets us in our need with an offer of his rest. In Him, we find the unexpected and potent peace of His presence - the rest we truly need. Application Questions:1. What are some ways in which you look for rest? 2. How is Jesus' unexpected offer of rest actually good news? 3. How can you look to find your rest in Him this week?

Continuing on from our previous episode, we're looking at Jesus' invitation to "take on" his "yoke" and his offer to provide rest for our souls. There are some super refreshing visuals in these two short verses that we might miss since most of us don't have much knowledge of historic farming practices. When it comes down to it, the kind of rest I'm looking for goes way beyond a spa day or even a tropical vacation. And that's what he's offering here. I hope you'll listen in and find this episode as refreshing to listen to as I found it was to write! Read it for yourself! Questions from today's episode: What am I struggling to surrender to Jesus today? Is it my whole life? Or maybe just one element that I'm not willing to let go control of? What is Jesus saying to me in the quiet right now? What is my response? Soul Rest by Amy R. Soul Rest.  What Is It and How Can We Get It? : Reflections from Psalm 62 In Psalm 62, David point us in the direction of soul rest.  Soul rest is different than physical rest, but for many of us, it soul rest remains elusive.  Today we are talking about deep, restorative rest that enables us to keep going.  I pray this episode blesses you. Today's Key Verse:   My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. Psalm 62:1 Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast.   Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life?   Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God's voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do.   The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life.   Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His.   The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open.   Join me for your daily dose of faith, honesty, and prayer.   Need to chat one on one? Women often deal with feelings of insecurity and unworthiness, yet the lives of these women show that Jesus values us, wants a relationship with us, and can use us to further His kingdom. In her warm, conversational style, Rachael ties together her life experience, knowledge of the Scriptures, and her compassion for women to encourage us and enable us to become the women God has called us to be.    See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
