The Seattle Seahawks finally had a convincing victory over a Sean McVay coached Los Angeles Rams team. Not only that, but they did it on the back of a defensive unit that had questions surrounding it early this season. Is it time to give Ken Norton some credit for the turnaround? The 20-9 win over the Rams earned Seattle their first NFC West title since 2016, but was it done in a way to improve Adam's mood from the previous week? After all, the structure of the game wasn't much different. We look at some of the third downs throughout the game and it was one area where Russell Wilson struggled early on in the game. Next up is a San Francisco 49ers franchise that Seattle has dominated throughout the Russell Wilson era. Kyle Shannahan has managed two wins against this Seahawks team (the same number that Jim Harbaugh had). Injuries continue to plague the 49ers, but George Kittle will be in the game and C.J. Beathard has done well to avoid throwing any interceptions. But Kittle will be his only big name target with both Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk out for this Sunday's game. Even with injuries, Seattle should expect a physical game, particularly from the 49ers defense. In the second half of the show, we talk about the departure of Damon 'Snacks' Harrison and the return of Luke Willson. We also discuss a number of playoff scenarios for Seattle and why there is the potential for a big difference between having the 2nd and 3rd seed in the playoffs.  D.K.O. earned the top spot in the pick'em league this week, and Jeremy comes in with the answer regarding career rushing leaders for the Seahawks. Adam calls out an anonymous Fansided article for daring to consider life for the Seahawks without Russell Wilson as Brandan brings evidence as to why Bobby Wagner should have earned a fumble recovery at the end of the Rams game. Better at life honors go to the Tennessee Titans social media team for their injury designation of one of their players and to the Seahawks franchise for earning an NFC West title in the face of different areas of adversity. This show starts off by recapping the Seahawks news from the past two weeks, including the sad news of former Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson passing away this week. In free agency news, Seattle continues to add to the offensive line by bringing back Mike Iupati. What does this mean for the team in terms of how they approach the 2020 draft and which players are going to be competing for which positions? With the draft beginning next week, we discuss the similarities and differences from previous drafts. Even though there are some glaring needs on defense, the team could continue to look for weapons to surround Russell Wilson with early on in the draft. With the offseason being very different this year, it could also change the way teams may want to think about their rookie players going into next season. The Seahawks recently posted a video on the tight ends position room where Greg Olsen was introduced to the current group of Seattle tight ends. To say that he'll bring a higher level of maturity to the group is an understatement and we have the clips as evidence. We also clue Luke Willson into why a grizzly bear would obviously win a fight with a gorilla. Adam has ranked the 2020 class of quarterbacks and has decided that only two rise to the level of providing a team with a quarterback who gives a team a legitimate shot at the playoffs. In the second half of the show we dive into some clips from the Mysterious Universe podcast that explores some of the origins of Pete Carroll's coaching philosophy. If you want to check out their full podcast, you can tune in around the 1:12:25 mark of their show. We also discuss a listener email that talks about just how lucky the team would be to find a pass rusher who can provide an immediate impact late in the first round or into the second round of the draft. Closing out the show, we talk about an Air Force program that combines two of the most terrifying terms to come from sci-fi films into a single program that should sound alarm bells for anyone familiar with the Terminator and Star Trek series. Kam Chancellor is snubbed from a list of All-Decade team snubs. A politician in Washington State has decided to give up politics to serve the public in another way and science and medicine tells us all why it was better for humanity that the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl this year. Do the Hawks need to add at the tight end position? More than likely, the answer is yes, with Ed Dickson likely gone, Hollister questionable, Luke Willson being later in his career, and Will Dissly being injury-prone, the position is going to need some help. Greg Olsen and the Panthers have parted ways. Would he be the right pick-up, or should the Hawks consider other options? Yesterday we learned that the new NHL team name may in fact be the Kraken. Is that the right name for the new franchise? We take your calls. Lee Sterling makes Super Bowl picks against the spread, plus second half totals, and prop bets he likes.

SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Greg Smith is all alone to recap Week 7 and work the waiver wire for Week 8. He kicks off the show discussing the impact of injuries and byes on the transactions leading up to Week 7, then he wonders if home field advantage in the NFL is largely dead. Booms of the week and busts of the week are next, with a lot of time spent on surprising performances from the Lions, Cardinals, and Saints. From there, Greg dives into key injuries from Week 7 (19:29). Can the Chiefs' offense maintain high-level fantasy production with Matt Moore under center? How about the Falcons with Matt Schaub at quarterback? Injuries from other positions are also discussed, and those lead right into Greg's assessment of the Week 8 waiver wire (24:27). Which handcuff running backs are most likely to break out next ala Chase Edmonds in Week 7? Do fantasy owners need to give serious consideration to Mark Walton and Brandon Bolden? Is Anthony Miller finally coming around? What's it going to take for DeVante Parker and Preston Williams to crack 25% ownership? Is there any hope left for O.J. Howard? And if not, which other tight ends might offer non-zero production off waivers? Greg tackles all these questions and more, so tune and help make sure he wasn't just talking to himself that whole time. The show is brought to you by FantasyDraft. SummaryOn this episode of The Most Accurate Podcast, Greg Smith is joined by Jim Sannes of numberFire. The first half of the show is a recap of Week 6, beginning with a discussion about evaluating non-elite running back types like Mark Ingram and Tevin Coleman and assigning fantasy value based on factors like passing game usage, goal line usage, and strength of their surrounding offenses. They also discuss the value of identifying funnel defenses, the most prominent injuries, booms, and busts of the week. The second half of the show deals with the Week 7 waiver wire (39:03). Will the workload for Jamaal Williams ramp back up in spite of Aaron Jones' recent success? Will Brandon Bolden ever go away? How can we mine value from San Francisco's receiving corps? Is there any hope for tight ends off the waiver wire? Will Ryan Tannehill generate fantasy value in Tennessee? Is Jacoby Brissett or Daniel Jones the better streamer for Week 7? Which widely available quarterback is the best bet for rest-of-season relevance? Who should owners drop this week to make room for new blood? 264: Every aggressive Seahawks play call backfires, yet another reminder that yards don’t matter

As Seahawks fans are coping with the first September loss at home in the Pete Carroll era, Adam and Brandan are looking for who to blame. When the opposing team scores in every phase of the game and you need more than one hand to count some of the questionable coaching moves in the game, the answer is clear. But a majority of those coaching calls came down to playing an aggressive style of football. Except for a decision to not call timeout at the end of the first half and a decision to not go for a two-point conversion late in the game. Those calls are still a bit tough to explain. Luke Willson is back on the team for the Seahawks and says that Techno Thursday will return, but Bobby Wagner may be the wet blanket that keeps that as something of the past. Russell Wilson threw for more than 400 yards and demonstrated once again how yards don't matter. The guys preview Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals and what to expect from Arizona's offense through the first few games. In the closing segments of the show, Brandan calls out a Redskins employee in charge of Gatorade and Adam says the NFL went too far by banning pyrotechnics. Better at life nods go to a young Seahawks fan who made a trip out to Seattle and to Nelson Agholor for inviting a critical fan to an upcoming game.
