SEASON 4 EPISODE 70: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: We are all looking at it backwards: That was Tulsi Gabbard’s passive-aggressive mini-coup against Trump - about Iran, and the elections. That's what she did in her Senate testimony – and what her deputy Joe Kent did when he resigned, a day earlier (and you think THAT was a coincidence of timing?) In a kind of bizarre code, through omission and not commission, they called Trump a liar about Iran and nukes. Not nobly or bravely. But they did it. They left no other conclusion that Trump was and is lying about Iran. Under oath. And THEN Gabbard passive-aggressively called Trump a LIAR AGAIN about the seized ballots in Georgia. Under oath. She testified that HE sent her. It might be a break in the damn; it might be trivial. It is NOT nothing. Because everybody has a moment in which they realize that they have to protect their own assets - and this might've been theirs. Lord knows all the allies have found theirs. Trump literally has no support from anyone, and the EU just started talking to Iran about a deal to get its ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump is neck high in quicksand that he ordered and installed - and he's run out of people to blame. Plus I'll explain what the hell Trump meant when he said “DIG WE MUST" instead of "drill baby drill." (It was his brain defaulting back to 1962 and it's a really bad sign). B-Block (26:00) SPORTSBALL TONIGHT: Are there ANY good feelings left from the US Olympics Men's Hockey Gold? Now the scorer of the winning goal, Jack Hughes, is demanding they give him the puck rather than enshrine it forever at the Hockey Hall of Fame, and an ESPN commentator is demanding we ignore "politics" and admit Russia to the next international tournament (while Russia is aiding Iran, who we are - like it or not - at war with). (34:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Newt Gingrich falls for an internet troll who wants to create an instant Trump Canal in the Middle East using nukes. Rachel Maddow becomes the umpteenth commentator to insist HER favorite Trump scandal should be getting more attention than the others. And not only did the Los Angeles Dodgers desecrate Dodger Stadium by slapping a sponsor name on it - but they then lied and said they HADN'T sold the naming rights. C-Block (56:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: My great grandfather not only turned down stock - circa 1907 - in the company that would become General Motors, but according to family lore he gave the owner the idea for the NAME "General Motors." We are not businessmen.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Jets reportedly franchise tag Breece Hall, and the guys break down why New York chose the franchise tag over the transition tag, what it means for a long-term extension, and why they're convinced Breece will play. Then the conversation shifts to the World Baseball Classic, where Paul Skenes' “close second to military service” quote sparks a heated debate about tone, timing, and representing your country. They compare Skenes to Tarik Skubal's one-start plan and why fans hate the “mercenary” vibe, plus a caller currently in the military weighs in. Later, it's rapid-fire breaking news: a PED suspension report involving Jurickson Profar, and a stunner from the NFL world as the Seahawks are not expected to tag Kenneth Walker, potentially impacting the Giants' plans. The hour also features a spirited Giants discussion (including the “LOL Giants” argument), a wild trip into the WFAN archives with old Lakers-Rockets Game 7 stringer updates, and a Mets first base debate that has Brett Baty emerging as the surprising innings leader. Plus: East Coast vs West Coast fan culture, Dodger Stadium horror stories, and plenty of classic Evan and Tiki chaos along the way.

Celebrated as a democratic space for all Americans, the major league ballpark in fact privileged the middle- and upper-class white male fan while tacitly marginalizing poor urban residents and people of color. Seth S. Tannenbaum examines how the game's economically and socially stratified system reflected changing understandings of urban space, inclusion, and the body politic. Major League Baseball owners and executives masked exclusion and division by touting the game's accessibility and instituting few overtly discriminatory policies. Affluent white males enjoyed a comfortable, safe space that reinforced their status as the prototypical American citizen. At the same time, ballparks relocated in response to how these favored fans felt about cities. Tannenbaum traces this journey from the urban locales of the Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium through the suburban-oriented Dodger Stadium and Houston Astrodome to the cloistered fantasy of city life offered by Camden Yards. As he shows, owners' pursuit of greater profits incorporated existing barriers that helped shape the structure of modern parks. The Cold Murder of His Father: Do You Have Information? A Case That Still Haunts Los Angeles, California. More than a decade later, the killing of Joseph Gatto remains one of Los Angeles' most haunting unsolved crimes. The Home Invasion that took his life did not just devastate a Family, it reshaped the inner world of his son, former California lawmaker Mike Gatto, and pulled him into a dark, unresolved mystery that continues to demand answers. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Joseph Gatto was 78 years old, strong, active, and deeply woven into the fabric of his community. Friends believed he would live to be 100. Instead, he died 22 years too soon. Check out his Podcast appearance, and content shared for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and most major podcast platforms. On November 12, 2013, Joseph Gatto was shot inside his Silver Lake Home, a neighborhood often described as one of the safest and most culturally vibrant areas of Los Angeles. The following day, his daughter, arrived for their weekly dinner and made a discovery no family should ever have to endure. After calling out his name, she found her father slumped over his desk on the third floor, dead from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Silver Lake, once described by Forbes as the “hippest” neighborhood in Los Angeles, is known for its art culture, creativity, and sense of community. Joseph loved it there. A retired art teacher, he had spent decades giving back, teaching high school and college students, selling concessions at Dodger Stadium at night, and creating art as a jewelry maker and author. In 1985, he helped found the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, where he led the visual arts department. The Cold Murder of His Father: Do You Have Information? A Case That Still Haunts Los Angeles, California. “He was prominent throughout the community and liked by everyone,” friends recalled. To many, the idea that he would be the victim of a violent crime was unthinkable. Yet investigators quickly determined Joseph Gatto had been killed during what appeared to be a Home Invasion robbery. There were no obvious signs of forced entry, but the house had been ransacked and a file cabinet breached. Police later said they were looking for a man seen breaking into cars in the area around the same time, suggesting the murder may have been linked to a local burglary spree. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. Despite suspect sketches, extensive media coverage, and a $50,000 reward, the case stalled. Over time, it became what investigators now acknowledge as a cold case. The Cold Murder of His Father: Do You Have Information? “The murder of Joseph Gatto captivated Los Angeles,” said Robert Kovacik, anchor and reporter for NBC Los Angeles. “Many veteran journalists still wonder how and why it happened. The details of this horrible crime and those affected by it continue to fascinate.” At the time of the murder, Mike Gatto was an up-and-coming political figure, serving as a four-term member of the California Legislature representing Los Angeles. He chaired the powerful Appropriations Committee, served as Assistant Speaker, and authored several pieces of landmark legislation. Publicly, he was immersed in the world of politics. Privately, his life had been shattered. Mike Gatto has said he believes his father's killer is still out there. Look for The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. That belief, and the frustration of unanswered questions, pulled him into what he describes as the world of noir: wild theories, unyielding detectives, missed connections, and unimaginable violence. Friends, neighbors, and family members wanted justice. Detectives repeatedly told the public the case would be solved. As the years passed, those assurances faded. The impact of the crime eventually found its way onto the page. The Cold Murder of His Father. In his book, "Noir by Necessity: How My Father's Unsolved Murder Took Me to Dark Places", Gatto chronicles the investigation and its toll with unflinching honesty. The book reads like a thriller, but it is rooted in real grief, real clues, and a real system that, in this case, failed to deliver answers. “This is a modern murder mystery,” Gatto has said, “and a candid look at how the dark underbelly of Los Angeles collided with the political world.” The book details every lead, every theory, and every haunting detail Gatto uncovered as he tried to make sense of his father's death. It also explores the psychological cost of living with an unsolved crime, how it reshapes memory, trust, and one's understanding of justice. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. Today, the story continues to resonate far beyond Los Angeles. It is discussed across News platforms and shared on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple, and Spotify, where true crime audiences continue to ask the same question: Do You Have Information? That question is not rhetorical. Authorities have long maintained that someone knows something. Mike Gatto has continued to push for answers, keeping his father's case in the public eye and urging anyone with knowledge to come forward. The Family still waits for closure. The city still wonders how such a crime could happen in a place that felt so safe. The Cold Murder of His Father. A Case That Still Haunts Los Angeles, California. Joseph Gatto was more than a victim. He was a teacher, an artist, a founder, a father, and a fixture of his community. His death marked the violent intersection of crime, politics, and personal loss, one that forever altered the life of his son. The full interview is available Free on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube, and excerpts are being shared on Facebook and Instagram as part of a broader dialogue about incarceration, reentry, and personal responsibility. What does it cost to walk away from one of Hollywood’s most powerful legal positions to pursue your true passion? Steve Bardwil spent years as Chief Counsel for Walt Disney Studios, overseeing legal affairs for Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and more—negotiating billion-dollar deals and working alongside industry titans like Steve Jobs, Alan Bergman, and Kevin Feige. But behind the prestigious business cards and high-stakes meetings, he was writing songs, leading a band, and wrestling with a question that wouldn’t let go: What if there’s more? Welcome to the Takin A Walk podcast and join Buzz Knight on this inspiring music story with singer-songwriter Steve Bardwil. In 2024, Steve Bardwil made the decision that seemed crazy to everyone around him—he left Disney to pursue music full-time. One year later, he released his critically acclaimed debut album “Nothing But Time,” produced by 11-time Grammy winner Joe Chiccarelli (Elton John, U2, Beck, The Killers). Now he’s heading back into East West Studios to record his sophomore effort. In this inspiring music interview , Steve shares the emotional journey of redefining his identity beyond the Disney empire, the moment he cold-called Joe Chiccarelli (and actually got a callback), and what happened when one of music’s most legendary producers transformed his songs in ways he never imagined. From opening for Donovan Frankenreiter and Lyle Lovett while still at Disney, to learning the recording process from scratch, to writing “Send Them Love”—a song resonating with anyone who’s faced online negativity—Steve Bardwil and his story is about courage, reinvention, and refusing to live with “what if.” He also reveals his Beatles origin story (Dodger Stadium, 1966), the bittersweet reality of walking away from a career that defined him, and his advice for anyone contemplating their own leap: “At the end of your life, you can say ‘I tried’ or ‘I wish I would have.’ Don’t be the person who says ‘I wish I would have.’” Featured Topics: Career reinvention, music production with Joe Chiccarelli, working at Walt Disney Studios, songwriting process, recording at East West Studios, overcoming self-doubt, “Send Them Love,” Beatles at Dodger Stadium, following your passion later in life Keywords #legendary musician #legendary musican interview #knight #walk #weekly music history #kegendary musician #career breakthrough Support the show: https://takinawalk.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Now that the Tucker saga has a predictable ending – the top free agent is heading to Dodger Stadium – The Athletic’s Sahadev Sharma and Patrick Mooney give some insights into why the Cubs seemed to move on a long time ago. Closing Alex Bregman’s five-year, $175 million deal certainly took a lot of heat off the Cubs organization leading into its annual winter convention. But the front office also hasn’t yet shut down any of the trade speculation surrounding Hoerner, Shaw and a potential surplus of infielders. The conversation shifts to Hollywood, where new streetlights come with a shocking price tag of nearly a million dollars. Plus, controversy brews after a Starbucks employee draws a pig on a police officer’s cup, and alarming reports reveal more than 100 LAFD fire trucks, engines, and ambulances are out of service and in need of repair. Today’s show was packed with big wins, big concerns, and big energy across Los Angeles. Cadillac Pasadena proved to be a major success as we looked ahead to holiday traffic patterns with Angel, breaking down what drivers should expect as the season ramps up. Investigative reporter Michael Monks joined the conversation with urgent updates on the LAPD, warning that the department could be forced to halt hiring without millions in additional funding. He also shared the heartbreaking story of a family that lost both their home and business in devastating fires, with a full deep-dive interview airing on his KFI show this Saturday night. In a surprising turn, the Los Angeles City Council moved forward with a million-dollar proposal to boost LAPD recruiting, narrowly advancing the measure in a contentious vote. And to cap it all off, Dodger Stadium is officially buzzing — the Dodgers introduced Edwin “Sugar” Díaz, setting the stage for an electric season as Timmy Trumpet and “Sweet Sugar” promise to light up Chavez Ravine. Miguel is joined by a returning guest, journalist Abraham Marquez. In this episode, we discuss ICE and the 2025 World Series champion Dodgers. Throughout the 2025 baseball season, Dodgers Chairman Mark Walter and Guggenheim Baseball Management have made headlines by first having the Dodgers team visit the Trump White House in April 2025 to honor the 2024 championship team. Additionally, the Dodgers were accused in June 2025 of allowing ICE to stage operations inside their parking lots, and most recently, in November 2025, ICE once again staged at a parking lot near Dodger Stadium the day after the 2025 Dodgers championship parade. Lastly, Guggenheim has investments in GEO Group and Palantir Technologies. We do our best to talk about it all, including the contradictions of Dodger fandom and the fallacy of ethical consumption under capitalism. Abraham Marquez is a freelance writer from Inglewood, California, and a National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) member. Concerns grow as the fourth storm in a week hits Southern California, bringing flood advisories and renewed worry for burn-scar areas and vulnerable foothill communities like Altadena. Michael Monks weighs in on the troubled Dodger Stadium gondola project, now facing turbulence as Los Angeles officials look to potentially halt it. The proposed $500 million aerial tramway would connect the stadium to Union Station, aiming to ease game-day traffic. Supporters argue it would reduce congestion, while critics cite studies showing minimal impact on car use. Jay Leno opens up about his 45-year marriage and the emotional challenges of wife Mavis’ declining health due to dementia, sharing that he still “melts” when she looks at him despite the difficult journey.
