Eleven years after the heartbreak of Super Bowl XLIX, the Seattle Seahawks are World Champions once again. We recap every punishing hit from Super Bowl LX as Mike Macdonald's defense turned Levi's Stadium into a house of horrors for Drake Maye. From Uchenna Nwosu's game-sealing pick-six to Jason Myers' record-breaking five field goals, we break down how Seattle systematically dismantled New England. We also discuss the "Sam Darnold Redemption" and what this second Lombardi Trophy means for the legacy of the Seahawks' new era.As for the Patriots, this performance raised a lot of questions. The strength of schedule especially without some of the top quarterbacks in the AFC. The offensive line issues all year, and where was the MVP candidate Drake Maye including the playoffs against good defenses. This was a team completely outmatched. This is a Dynasty that might be delayed?
The road to Super Bowl LX ends in Santa Clara. In a matchup very few would have predicted at the beginning of the season, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are set for a championship rematch over a decade in the making. While the Patriots pulled off an amazing victory in Super Bowl XLIX, the Seahawks enter this Sunday as the favorites. Three-time Super Bowl champion and FOX Sports analyst Daryl “Moose” Johnston joined Chris Foster earlier this week to break down the X's and O's of the big game. Moose explains why he believes Seattle is the most complete team in the NFL and how Sam Darnold successfully "exercised his demons" against the blitz to reach this stage. Moose also discussed his own experience playing in the Super Bowl—sharing how he prepared for the big game and performed with the whole world watching. Additionally, he explains what players actually do during the halftime show and what it was like playing in the Super Bowl when Michael Jackson performed. We often must cut our interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full conversation. Today on the FOX News Rundown Extra, we share our entire interview with Dallas Cowboys legend and FOX Sports Analyst Daryl “Moose” Johnston, providing deeper big-game analysis and a look at what it will be like for the players taking the field this Sunday. Hosted by Grant Mona, today's episode tackles one of the biggest NBA trade deadline stories and preview talk from Super Bowl week — packed with stats, context, and what it means for LA hoops and the NFL's biggest game. Segment One — Clippers Trade James Harden for Darius Garland Grant breaks down the blockbuster trade that sends James Harden from the Clippers to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Darius Garland and a second-round pick. The veteran 11-time All-Star is averaging 25.4 points and 8.1 assists this season, his best scoring output in years, while helping fuel L.A.'s mid-season push after a rough start. Meanwhile, the Clippers are bringing in 26-year-old Garland, a two-time All-Star averaging about 18.0 points and 6.9 assists before a toe injury slowed his season. The hosts unpack why this deal signals a shift for Los Angeles' roster strategy, how Garland could fit next to Kawhi Leonard and others, and what Harden's new role might look like in Cleveland's title chase. Segment Two — Super Bowl LX Preview & Sam Darnold at Media Day In segment two, Grant turns to the NFL as the Seattle Seahawks prepare for Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks finished 14–3, led by a balanced roster and elite defense, and will meet the Patriots — who also went 14–3 this season — in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX. Quarterback Sam Darnold has been one of the key storylines of the playoff run, completing 346 yards and three touchdowns in the NFC Championship win and becoming a feel-good story heading into the big game. At Super Bowl media day, Darnold talked about his journey through multiple teams before finding success in Seattle and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to start in the league's biggest game. Even with the end of the NFL season almost upon us, chaos still reigns. Matt Mormann and Ryan McDaniel dive into the chaos that has been this coaching cycle, how almost historic it's been and how their respective teams did in hiring their new coaches. Then, they tackle this Super Bowl XLIX rematch between the Patriots and Seahawks, the Patriots road to get here feeling underwhelming, can the Patriots offense light a spark against another top shelf defense, the Sam Darnold piece of it all, how good this Seahawks defense has been good in year two under coach Mike Macdonald, if seeing defenses built like the Seahawks and Eagles up front make the Super Bowl the last couple years will have teams changing their thinking of how to build defenses and more, including their predictions for who will hoist the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday night.Love the pod? Mike, Dan, John and Scartsy finish revisiting the 2014 Patriots postseason and discuss a game that stopped one potential dynasty and gave birth to another: Super Bowl XLIX between New England and Seattle.
The Seattle Seahawks are heading to the Super Bowl after a 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field. Sam Darnold came up big when it mattered most, connecting with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for touchdown before halftime after taking a crushing hit. Kenneth Walker III punched in the opening score, and the offense executed a masterful five-minute drive that helped close out the game. The defense came up big on a critical fourth-and-four stop, with Julian Love and DeMarcus Lawrence dropping into coverage to stuff the Rams attempt—a play Sean McVay dismissed as "luck" in his post-game comments. Riq Woolen's costly taunting penalty on third down helped give the Rams an opening, leading to an immediate Puka Nacua touchdown. Cooper Kupp proved instrumental in the Seahawks' success, making key third-down conversions against his former team after the Rams organization reportedly urged other teams to lowball him in free agency (which we later cover in the Do Better segment). In the second half of the show, we look ahead to Super Bowl matchup against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks face a Drake Maye-led offense that excels under pressure but lacks some of the firepower of previous opponents. The franchise has a chance to exorcise demons from Super Bowl XLIX and claim the Lombardi Trophy on the 49ers' home turf in Santa Clara, completing one of the most unexpected and satisfying seasons in recent memory. On today's show, Arash Markazi and Grant Mona tackle two of the biggest conversations in basketball and football: how the Lakers and Clippers might approach the NBA trade deadline, and what's shaping up for Super Bowl LX, intertwined with the surprising news that legendary coach Bill Belichick wasn't elected a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Segment One — Lakers & Clippers Trade Deadline Plans As the NBA trade deadline approaches, the hosts break down where both Los Angeles teams stand and how they might approach improving their rosters. The Lakers, currently fighting to stay in the upper tier of the Western Conference, may look for shooters or defensive help to complement their stars and tighten rotations. Meanwhile, the Clippers, who have defied early-season expectations with a solid midseason surge, are reportedly not planning a fire sale despite roster holes — instead eyeing impact players around Kawhi Leonard and James Harden to strengthen their playoff push. The panel talks fits, needs, and realistic targets for both franchises and how those moves could reshape the balance of power in the West. Segment Two — Super Bowl LX Preview & Belichick's Hall of Fame Snub The conversation pivots to the NFL and the upcoming Super Bowl LX, scheduled for February 8, 2026 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. This year's title game will feature the Seattle Seahawks (14-3) against the New England Patriots (14-3) — a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX and a storyline that's capturing national attention. Analysts have noted the Seahawks' dominant defense and the Pats' road success as keys to the matchup's dynamics. Amid the Super Bowl buildup, the show also addresses a major narrative off the field: Bill Belichick, one of the most successful coaches in NFL history, was not elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on his first ballot. Despite winning six Super Bowls as a head coach and ranking among the all-time leaders in wins, Belichick fell short of the 40 votes needed from the 50-person selection committee — a result that has sparked strong reactions from legends like Tom Brady and fans alike.
