**Disclaimer: my poor mic is having feedback issues. Trying my best to work out the kinks and will be resolved for episodes going forward!**What's in this episode:This episode is just a continuation of anger. With everything going on, I just want to say that your anger is justified. What I want to unpack is how to move the needle forward or what to think about when it comes to how you manifest anger.**NOTE: I'm not a therapist. So, this is only from my viewpoint only!**Things to realize:Anger is considered a secondhand emotion. In that, when we're angry -- there is usually has to deal with us feeling: hurt, scared or threatened, disappointed or stressed. There is usually a primary reason and how we show our feelings around that primary emotion can come out as anger.Being angry, it makes it easier for us to discount the primary emotion and just sink into the anger and not unpack it. We feel comfortable in it because it makes us feel better about our role in a particular situation (usually).Anger can cause us to numb ourselves. Especially, if guilt/shame is at play. If we don't want to unpack our "stuff," it's easy to seek something else out to divert our attention. As someone who used drinking to cope with everything, I can't count how many times I used drinking to mask how down I was feeling, hoping the booze would make it go away. Some tips and tricks to move ourselves out of anger. Being self aware is key, practicing empathy and I like to "parrot" back things that I hear to make sure we're both understanding each other!Stay safe out there, friends! I don't have an official title for this mini-series. One year ago I wrote 200+ notecards on various notes, theories, ideas, self-tips, and life lessons as self reminders and reflection. I haven't reviewed them until today. This is a stream-of-consciousness mini-series so while you may find a brain nugget listening, this episode is likely best suited as a way to fall asleep to my yawn-inducing voice while blocking out mind-chatter. "i hate the feeling." "why won't it make sense?" "can't sleep and can't help but wonder why." What do all these quotes have in common? Well, lofi hip-hop that's what. I'm old (well 34) and I was once a teen half a life ago and nothing makes me feel more serene than reading lofi hip-hop youtube comments. I like to think of them as a vessel to the past (or future) of wisdom that we all could be reminded of once in a while. This episode includes lofi-music in the 1st half (fades in around the 8 minute mark) and of course steady white noise drizzled into your eardrums. I wouldn't be shocked if this episode catches wind for teens, so the comments being read start at the 8 minute mark as well. (Part 1) I'm kind of decent at generating ideas. Hell, ideation and idea-crafting are engrained in my veins. I can't vouch that they are good nor bad, but the exercise of idea generation can help you define our podcast (or come up with ideas for podcast episodes), content (video/written/blog) and in business (consulting, solving literally anything no one else is willing to do). Part 1 includes 5 tips with practical examples to improve your ability to come up with ideas that will (hopefully) instill a newfound ability to come up with ideas worth persuing. I am not an expert at this (officially), but I have a deep thirst for thinking and crafting ideas. This is a two-parter! See timestamps for easy navigation. If there is one episode that might help alleviate your insomnia and create balance in your awake time, this is it IMO. I hope this helps you as I explain the concept of "Blitz Sessions" as a way to gamify free-time to visually see and feel accomplishments. Both of these do have constraints but I firmly believe that finding ways to gamify life is motivation to be productive and a good way to balance life and hence...sleep better. On February 4, 2010, Joseph and Summer McStay, as well as their two toddler sons, Joseph, Jr. and Gianni vanished from their home. Nine days after they went missing, it was reported to police, as people realized that they had not simply went on vacation. Joseph's vehicle was found left at the United States Mexico border, and the scene in their home looked as if they were taken in the middle of a normal day as popcorn had been spilled on the couch, and a carton of raw eggs had been left on the counter. The family's remains were finally found in a shallow grave in the desert on November 13, 2013 by a passing motorcyclist. It was determined that the family had died from blunt force trauma. Joseph's friend and business partner, Charles "Chase" Ray Merritt was arrested in November of 2014 when his DNA had been found in the family's vehicle. He had bludgeoned the family to death with a sledgehammer and buried them in the desert, all for financial gain as he had a gambling addiction. Chase Merritt was sentenced to death finally 10 years after the crime in January 2020. Note: I'm not sure what was wrong with my microphone, but throughout the episode it would get crackly and I tried my best to re-record and edit the segments. :( Sorry!! Sources : Crime Museum. The superbowl was full of prop bets, in game bets, and degen shenangens for some folks. It only makes sense to have an episode dedicated to recapping our SB game bets / prop bets / and other bets placed from the last two SB episodes. If you are NEW to the podcast, my non-NFL chatter is at the 39 minute mark. Spoiler: National Anthem Picks...Damn near perfection. That said, I am not a (professional) sports analyst, this is used for (my own) entertainment purposes while using background soothing noises (rain sounds/nature sounds) to induce sleep and relaxation. I blend in rain sounds and outdoor sounds to help you relax and help get rid of insomnia and for sleep. Having a yawn-inducing voice does help! Remember, ALWAYS do your due diligence, most of my NFL Super Bowl picks are for fun and my analysis aren't meant to be taken super seriously, though I'm starting to think mildly serious could be valid. I will keep record of my picks. I took it upon myself to dive deep into super bowl prop bets. Luckily my sportsbook did a great job of categorizing all of the funnest prop bets. So this week is purely props. NOTE: My national anthem picks are the most confident picks out of all of them and I purposely placed them at the beginning of the podcast. Keep in mind, I am not a (professional) sports analyst, this is used for (my own) entertainment purposes while using background soothing noises to induce sleep and relaxation. I blend in rain sounds and outdoor sounds to help you relax and help get rid of insomnia and for sleep. Having a yawn-inducing voice does help! Remember, ALWAYS do your due diligence, most of my NFL Super Bowl picks are for fun and my analysis aren't meant to be taken super seriously. But I've been profitable so far so that's pretty cool. Though last week, 0-7 in prop bets does hurt the ego. I will keep record of my picks.
