According to the UN, the United States-Mexico border is the world's deadliest land route for migrants, with at least 686 deaths and disappearances in 2023. 148 of those deaths happened in the region along the Texas and New Mexico borders with Mexico. Texas's Gov. Greg Abbott has attempted to create a crisis in Eagle Pass, TX with deadly razor wire fencing and deploying national guard units to police the border. He's been supported by at least 14 Republican governors. Abbott has defied a cease and desist order from Biden, and supported by the U.S. Supreme Court. In the Senate, an (anti) immigration bill recently failed as Trump needs the issue for the 2024 campaign. In our latest, we talk with Truthout's Candice Bernd (@candicebernd) about the crisis being created by Greg Abbott, Donald Trump and other far right political actors. We discuss her recent trip to Eagle Pass, TX and her interviews with local residents opposed to Abbott's machinations and the far right convoy which traveled to the area to stand up to the federal government. The line is from over there to over here.”According to FOX5 New York, New Yorkers living in public housing have seen some 8,000 migrants move into their neighborhoods after having arrived at the United States-Mexico border and being released into the nation's interior.Already, low-income New Yorkers are dealing with strained resources. In 1966, somewhere along the United States-Mexico border, a man wearing a tattered Union uniform drags a coffin across the desert… and into the hearts of the Italian moviegoing public. What was it about this mix of blood, violence, sweaty masculine tusslin', and steely blue eyes? With just one film, Sergio Corbucci inspired over thirty five remakes, sequels, and rip-offs – the first two even in the same year the original film came out. In this episode, as part of their once Bootleg Bond series, now expanded Genre series, Bart and Jenna make it their business to map out Django from the beginning. They start with the widely seen original and slowly make their way through a mix of western wannabes, surrealist desert violence and pure cowboy schlock. They also discuss what makes Django so appealing: is it the cathartic, unflinchingly bloody violence, or is it the leftist beating heart that many spaghetti westerns share? Why not both? The following films are discussed:• Django (1966) Directed by Sergio Corbucci Starring Franco Nero, Loredana Nusciak, Eduardo Fajardo• A Few Dollars for Django (1966) Pochi dollari per Django Directed by León Klimovsky & Enzo G. Castellari Starring Anthony Steffen, Gloria Osuna, Ennio Girolami• Django Shoots First (1966) Django spara per primo Directed by Alberto De Martino Starring Glenn Saxson, Ida Galli, Fernando Sancho• Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! (1967) Se sei vivo spara Directed by Giulio Questi Starring Tomas Milian, Marilù Tolo, Piero Lulli• Django, Prepare a Coffin (1968) Preparati la bara! Directed by Ferdinando Baldi Starring Terence Hill, Horst Frank, George Eastman• Django the Bastard (1968) Django il bastardo Directed by Sergio Garrone Starring Anthony Steffen, Paolo Gozlino, Luciano Rossi
Hour 1 - Good Monday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Heads up! We will be airing special programming on Thanksgiving. We will also be out of the studio on Friday and will air a 'Best Of' Nick show that day. NBC political correspondent Steve Kornacki sounded the alarm on a new NBC poll that showed former President Trump beating President Biden in a hypothetical general match-up for the first time in the NBC poll's history. Mexico's President Andrés Manuel López Obrador called President Biden an “extraordinary president” on Friday and praised the administration's expansive Catch and Release network at the United States-Mexico border.
BlazeTV contributor Eric July and Blaze Media editor in chief Matt Peterson join the show to discuss President Biden's latest $100 billion spending bill to aid the wars in Ukraine and Israel and fund the United States-Mexico border. Senator Tom Cotton said it would be dead on arrival, claiming, "We will not spend, for example, $3.5 billion to address the ‘potential needs of Gazans' — essentially functioning as a resupply line for Hamas terrorists.” While the Middle East is in the middle of a holy war, Secretary of State Antony Blinken told NBC News that he was concerned about Iranian proxies targeting American personnel, saying we need to be ready to respond to any attacks. David Sacks confirmed this morning information from Germany's former military leader, Gerhard Schröder, that back in 2022, President Biden and his administration rejected a peace deal that would have ended the war in Ukraine. During meetings in Istanbul, Turkey, Ukraine was willing to accept neutrality, but the deal was rejected by the Biden administration in Washington, D.C. The House speaker position remains vacant as nine candidates put their names in the hat. Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida remains a front-runner with a 100% Liberty Score. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee — a Democrat representing Texas — was caught going on a profanity-laden and abusive tirade on a staffer who she described as a "f***ing idiot." A longtime educator, Dr. Armstrong is executive director of the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents {ALAS]. But what we had was family, and what we had was the security of knowing that when anybody in that neighborhood needed anything, we were there. Not just as an individual, but as a community.” “Food is a central part [of celebrations], because it's something that you compartir, you share. So food is a place to be able to make something with love and be able to show that this is my specialty, and I want to share it with you. So everybody brings something that they are proud of. It makes it all tastier, of course, because you're eating the best from everyone.” “Food is very central, but I also think that it's just the gathering and the sharing of the stories…. Hour 1 - Good Tuesday morning! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: President Biden claimed Monday, without evidence, that he stood at Ground Zero in New York City viewing the damage from the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks just one day later, despite records showing he was in Washington, D.C. that day. President Biden began his remarks on the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks by cracking a joke regarding the Alaska governor on Monday. HuffPost White House reporter S.V. Dáte reiterated his belief on Monday that the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 were not nearly as bad as the riot on January 6, 2021 because the latter involved former President Donald Trump. As Americans mark the 22nd anniversary of the September 11, 2001, Islamic terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans, President Joe Biden's administration is overseeing a surge in illegal aliens crossing the United States-Mexico border who are on the government's “Terrorist Watch List.” The Biden administration has reportedly approved a deal with Iran to pay the rogue regime $6 billion in exchange for five detained American citizens.

In the midst of an ongoing and complex immigration debate, it is essential to approach the topic with nuance and open-mindedness. Immigration policies, their implications, and their impact on nations have long been subjects of controversy and heated discussions. Recognizing the need for a more productive conversation, this text aims to delve into the multifaceted nature of immigration, specifically focusing on the situation at the United States-Mexico border. Before delving into the details, it is important to acknowledge that pointing fingers and assigning blame will not lead to meaningful solutions. While various administrations, including those of Biden and Trump, have played their part in shaping immigration policies, it is crucial to understand that this issue extends beyond the actions of any single individual or administration. The United States has grappled with immigration challenges for decades, highlighting the necessity of a comprehensive and bipartisan approach. The purpose of this podcast episode is to move beyond finger-pointing and engage in a conversation that considers historical context, acknowledges the complexities of the situation, and explores potential solutions. While it is essential to hold leaders accountable and discuss areas where improvement is needed, it is equally important to set realistic expectations and explore the role of the church and wider society in shaping the dialogue. By examining the humanitarian crisis at the border, the consequences of open borders, and the impact on both migrants and the American population, we aim to shed light on the urgency of addressing immigration challenges. This text does not aim to provide definitive answers or endorse specific political positions, but rather to foster a deeper understanding of the issue and encourage individuals, especially those within the Christian community, to contribute to the dialogue. Understanding the complexities of immigration requires empathy, a commitment to justice, and a deep sense of mercy. It is through a combination of these values, along with humility and a comprehensive examination of the issue, that we can work towards solutions that prioritize the well-being of all individuals involved. As we embark on this journey of exploration, let us set aside preconceived notions, engage in respectful dialogue, and collectively strive towards a more informed and compassionate understanding of immigration. This week we're replaying a classic episode where your hosts Steve Lowry and Yvonne Godfrey interview Neama Rahmani of West Coast Trial Lawyers (https://westcoasttriallawyers.com/). Remember to rate and review GTP in iTunes: Click Here to Rate and Review Episode Details: West Coast Trial Lawyers' President and co-founder Neama Rahmani looks back on his days as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and shares how he convinced a California jury that Laura Elana Trejo-Macias intentionally and knowingly tried to cross the U.S.-Mexico border with more than nine pounds of methamphetamine in her car. In March 2011, a trained drug detection dog at the San Ysidro port of entry alerted Customs and Border Protection Officers of contraband in Laura's newly acquired 2003 Chevy Tahoe. U.S. border officials found nine packages of methamphetamine with a street value of $130,000 in a modified shell of the vehicle's radiator. In spite of the defense's attempts to portray Laura as a successful businesswoman who was tricked into being a blind mule by an employee who had access to the car the day before, Neama Rahmani presented evidence that convinced the jury that Laura was, in fact, guilty of trafficking methamphetamine. In 2012, Laura was sentenced to more than 12 years in jail. Click Here to Read/Download the Trial Documents Guest Bio: Neama Rahmani Neama is the President and co-founder of West Coast Trial Lawyers. Neama graduated from UCLA at the age of 19 and Harvard Law School at the age of 22, making him one of the youngest graduates in the 200-year history of the law school. Upon graduation, Neama was hired by O'Melveny & Myers, the largest law firm in Los Angeles at the time, where he represented companies such as Disney, Marriott, and the Roman Catholic Church. But Neama wanted to help ordinary people, not corporations, so he joined the United States Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted drug and human trafficking cases along the United States-Mexico border. While working as a federal prosecutor, Neama captured and successfully prosecuted a fugitive murderer and drug kingpin who had terrorized Southern California and was featured on “America's Most Wanted.” Neama was then appointed to be the Director of Enforcement of the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission, an independent watchdog that oversees and investigates the elected officials and highest-level employees of the City of Los Angeles, including the Mayor and City Council. He held that position until becoming a trial lawyer for the people. Neama has extensive trial experience. He has led teams of more than 170 attorneys in litigation against the largest companies in the world. Neama has successfully tried dozens of cases to verdict as lead trial counsel and has argued and won before both state and federal appeals courts. Over the course of his career, Neama has handled thousands of cases, obtaining many seven and eight-figure settlements and judgments, and has helped his clients win more than one billion dollars. Neama is a regular legal commentator on news and television and sits on the UCLA Political Science Board of Advisors. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, an attorney for foster children, son, daughter, and dog, Lola. On February 4, 2010, Joseph and Summer McStay, as well as their two toddler sons, Joseph, Jr. and Gianni vanished from their home. Nine days after they went missing, it was reported to police, as people realized that they had not simply went on vacation. Joseph's vehicle was found left at the United States Mexico border, and the scene in their home looked as if they were taken in the middle of a normal day as popcorn had been spilled on the couch, and a carton of raw eggs had been left on the counter. The family's remains were finally found in a shallow grave in the desert on November 13, 2013 by a passing motorcyclist. It was determined that the family had died from blunt force trauma. Joseph's friend and business partner, Charles "Chase" Ray Merritt was arrested in November of 2014 when his DNA had been found in the family's vehicle. He had bludgeoned the family to death with a sledgehammer and buried them in the desert, all for financial gain as he had a gambling addiction. Chase Merritt was sentenced to death finally 10 years after the crime in January 2020. The U.S. Department of Labor's investigators and attorneys are working to prevent companies along the United States-Mexico border from exploiting Mexican workers. Wage and Hour Division investigators recently discovered three San Diego-area customs warehouses were violating the Fair Labor Standards Act.The employers, OMG Global Logistics, Atlas Freight Forwarding and Columbia Export Group PDSA, were ordered to pay approximately $2 million combined in minimum and overtime back wages to employees. It turns out the companies were paying wages as low as $2.50 per hour and also used Mexican affiliates to pay employees, making it appear as if they worked in Mexico rather than the United States. This took place in the San Diego neighborhood of Otay Mesa where some workers were making a daily international commute to work at warehouses. Columbia Export Group denied workers federal minimum wages and overtime premiums and ended up paying penalties to 60 employees.

Wokeness has permeated virtually ever aspect of American establishment media, politics, and education - and now, the Supreme Court of the United States. The ACLU felt inclined to edit a Ruth Bader Ginsburg quote about the rights of women to ostensibly include transgenders. But when RBG isn't woke enough for you, maybe RBG isn't the problem. Also, Peter Doocy of Fox news asks White House press secretary Jen Psaki if President Biden had ever been the the United States-Mexico border. As in ever. In his life. Psaki could not answer him.

President Joe Biden tells migrants "don't come" amid the surge at the United States-Mexico border. Migrant surge "could be" worse than what it was during former President's Donald Trump's era, according to Biden. Biden also says that migrants are not coming because "I'm a nice guy." The DHS chief says that the United States is set for most border encounters in the last 20 days. An extremist group member pleads not guilty to Capitol riot charges. The kids of the Texas man, facing Capitol riot charges, are to testify against him, his son saying the man threatened his son to "choose a side or die." The man's children also say that man said, "traitors get shot." A United States intelligence report is saying that Russia used Trump allies to influence the 2020 election with the goal of "denigrating" Biden. More than 250 bills have been proposed to restrict voting in 43 states. The 43 states push ahead with laws that will restrict voting despite that there's no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 202 election.
