In this interview special, we sit down with Celtic legend Paul McStay to discuss his crucial role as the new ambassador for the Season Ticket Alliance. Following a season marred by off-the-pitch frustrations, protests, and a fractured relationship between the board and the fanbase, Paul explains how Willie Haughey's new initiative aims to bridge the gap by securing supporter representation directly on the Celtic PLC board. We dive deep into the long-term goals of the Alliance, the urgent need for better recruitment and European ambition, and why true unity between the fans and the hierarchy is the ultimate formula to unleash Celtic as an unstoppable force on the pitch.Want to support the channel? - https://huddlebreakdown.comLike this video and want more content like it? Send us Fan MailAfter 80 episodes full of incredible guests, and over 25,000 downloads, Better Construction with Sean McStay is complete.I started that show in 2020 because I wanted to have real conversations with people building things that mattered. My new show, McStay on What Matters, picks up where Better Construction left off but without the industry constraint. The focus is on how senior leaders think through complex decisions, what they have learned about judgement, and what it actually looks like to lead when the answers are not obvious.I have posted a short final episode on the Better Construction feed pointing you to the new show. How does a family completely vanish? That was the question that plagued investigators after Michael McStay reported his brother Joe McStay missing on the 15th of February 2010, along with Joe's wife Summer, and their two children, Joe Jr and Gianni. It took four years to discover the fate of the McStay family: a fate that cast a lens across their entire lives. Everyone from Joe's business associates Chase Merrit and Dan Kavanaugh, to Joe's own brother Michael, had something to gain from the family's disappearance – but who had the mentality to kill them for it?--Patreon - Ad-free & Bonus EpisodesYouTube - Full-length Video EpisodesTikTok / InstagramSources and more available on redhandedpodcast.com
On November 11, 2013, a motorcyclist riding in a remote stretch of the Mojave Desert came across something that did not belong to the landscape. The area lay north of Victorville, not far from Interstate 15 but far enough that engine noise fades and the wind carries most of the sound. The ground was hard and pale, broken by scrub and scattered rock. In that dirt, the rider saw what appeared to be a human skull. He stopped. He called authorities. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded. The location was isolated but accessible by dirt road. The initial discovery was small — a skull partially exposed in desert soil — but the scene widened quickly. Deputies secured the area and began a systematic search. Within hours, investigators realized the find was not a single set of remains. Two burial sites were identified. They were shallow. The soil was loose compared to the surrounding terrain, disturbed and then pressed back down. The graves would later be referred to in reports as Grave A and Grave B. In total, four sets of human remains were recovered. On November 15, 2013, San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon addressed the media. He confirmed that the remains recovered in the desert had been identified as belonging to Joseph McStay, age 40; his wife, Summer McStay, age 43; and their two sons, Gianni, age 4, and Joseph Jr., age 3. The McStay family had been missing since February 4, 2010. For nearly four years, their case had lived in a different category — disappearance, possible voluntary departure, international travel theory, Mexico speculation. The discovery in Victorville ended that ambiguity. The McStays had not relocated. They had not started over. They had not walked across a border and vanished into another country. They had been killed.Sources: https://coronadotimes.com/event/down-to-the-bone-caitlin-rother-and-the-mcstay-family-murders/https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/judge-unseals-court-records-in-mcstay-murder-case/509-5297be95-2f41-4ce7-931e-8c3dc98e0918https://allthatsinteresting.com/mcstay-family-murdershttps://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/missing-mcstay-family-cross-mexico/story?id=10042816https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/mcstay-family-murder-trial-charles-merritt-closing-arguments-jury/159073/https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-mcstay-family-deaths-20190120-story.htmlhttps://www.sbsun.com/2019/03/11/key-prosecution-evidence-flopped-in-mcstay-family-murder-case-defense-contends/https://www.sbsun.com/2019/03/11/key-prosecution-evidence-flopped-in-mcstay-family-murder-case-defense-contends/https://abc7.com/post/mcstay-murders-merritt-attorneys-poke-holes-in-timeline/5190475/https://www.cnn.com/2014/07/01/justice/mcstay-case-five-questionshttps://press.wbd.com/us/media-release/investigation-discovery/go-inside-controversial-and-shocking-trial-charles-chase-merritt-mcstay-familyBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/kinda-murdery--5496890/support.
The 3400 block of Avocado Vista Lane, Fallbrook, California. The street ends in a cul-de-sac and the houses face the curve. The McStay house sits on that turn. Two stories. Light tan stucco. A white two-car garage door dominating the front, clean enough to catch the daylight when the sun hits it. Above the garage, a tall arched window rises into the second floor. Off to the side, another upstairs window is framed by dark shutters. The front door sits recessed on the right beneath a small covered porch, set back from the driveway and partly hidden by the angle of the front wall. A concrete driveway slopes up to the garage. A concrete walkway runs from the driveway to the porch. The lawn is green and trimmed. A slender pale-barked tree stands near the walkway. Low plants sit along the base of the porch. From the exterior it's an idyllic Southern California home; inside an idyllic Southern California family...WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?Sources: https://coronadotimes.com/event/down-to-the-bone-caitlin-rother-and-the-mcstay-family-murders/https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/judge-unseals-court-records-in-mcstay-murder-case/509-5297be95-2f41-4ce7-931e-8c3dc98e0918https://allthatsinteresting.com/mcstay-family-murdershttps://abcnews.go.com/TheLaw/missing-mcstay-family-cross-mexico/story?id=10042816https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/mcstay-family-murder-trial-charles-merritt-closing-arguments-jury/159073/https://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-mcstay-family-deaths-20190120-story.htmlhttps://www.sbsun.com/2019/03/11/key-prosecution-evidence-flopped-in-mcstay-family-murder-case-defense-contends/https://www.sbsun.com/2019/03/11/key-prosecution-evidence-flopped-in-mcstay-family-murder-case-defense-contends/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/kinda-murdery--5496890/support.

McStays, Taken Too Soon: A True Story: Patrick McStaythe last day anyone heard the voices of Joseph, Summer, Gianni or Joey Jr. McStay was on 2/4/10. The family's two beloved dogs were left abandoned in the backyard, food left out to rot, and a growing and thriving home-based business had orders pouring in unanswered. Joseph's father, Patrick, and other family members insisted their loved ones would never disappear voluntarily. Many suspected Joseph's contract employee of foul play. Yet for four years, the San Diego Sheriff's Department led the public to believe they had left of their own accord and moved to Mexico, until the harrowing discovery of four bodies in the desert shattered that illusion. Journey inside the lives of Joseph and Summer, hear their own accounts of their life together as well as insight from close friends and family. Read about Patrick's fight to keep his family's case in the forefront, and about the love he shared with his son for so many years.https://amzn.to/4nHU7FLBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

In Part 2 of my coverage on the McStay Family Murders, I cover the trial of Chase Merritt, the man arrested for the murders of Summer and Joseph McStay, and their two little boys, Gianni and Joey Jr. The case against Chase Merritt was built entirely on circumstantial evidence, and three years after my original coverage, I'm still not entirely sure police got the right guy. From the discourse between the prosecution and defense, cell phone and computer records suggesting Chase Merritt's movements were not as straightforward as the police would have you believe, and PayPal records suggesting another suspect stood to gain from Joseph McStay's death, I went over it all, putting together a picture that suggests that someone, somewhere, may have gotten things wrong. Three years ago, I explored one of California's most tragic true crime cases: the disappearance and murder of the McStay family, Summer and Joseph McStay, and their two young sons, Gianni and Joey Jr., on February 4, 2010. While there have been no major updates since my last coverage, I've gathered additional details about the case and trial that shed new light on the events. In Part 1, I follow the timeline from the days leading up to the McStays' disappearance to the shocking discovery of their bodies three years later, including the suspects and eventual arrest.Part 2 will dive deeper into the case against the man currently on death row for the family's murders, examining the evidence and legal proceedings that brought him to justice as well as whether or not I still believe police may have gotten the wrong man.Connect with us on Social Media! You can find us at:Instagram: @bookofthedeadpodX: @bkofthedeadpodFacebook: The Book of the Dead PodcastTikTok: BookofthedeadpodOr visit our website at www.botdpod.comFeaturing a promo for And Then They Were Gone:Listen HereAradillas, E. Initially, it was believed that the family had decided to travel to Mexico, but authorities discovered evidence suggesting that someone close to Joseph was involved in their murders.Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murders of the McStay family. The family of four was thriving in California at the time that they went missing. Several things led the authorities to believe they had walked across the border into Mexico. However, the evidence began to lead authorities to a close friend and business associate of Josephs named Chase Merritt. But Merritt wasn't the only one with a motive and who had evidence pointing in their direction. You can help support the show at patreon.com/truecrimeallthetimeVisit the show's website at truecrimeallthetime.com for contact, merchandise, and donation informationAn Emash Digital productionSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Host Jo Reed and AudioFile's Alex Richey explore this horror audiobook about a possessive orchid and the humans it wants to consume. Narrators Lauren O'Leary and Barry McStay deliver a chilling performance. O'Leary seamlessly delivers Irish and American accents. McStay voices Baby, the orchid, by adopting a callous, judgmental voice as he describes the thoughts and actions of the humans around him, speaking primarily in an Irish accent. An immersive, spooky overlap of voices near the end cleverly captures Baby's slow exertion of influence upon another human. True Crime Tuesday presents: Down To The Bone: Investigating The Murder of The McStay Family w/ Caitlin Rother! On February 15, 2010, Joseph McStay, his wife Summer, and their two young sons were reported missing from their new home in San Diego County. They left eggs and fruit rotting on the counter. Their Dodge truck sat in the driveway. Their dogs were abandoned outside without food. But investigators found no blood, signs of a struggle, or clues to their whereabouts. Did the family take an unannounced vacation? Were they running away from personal problems? Or were they victims of foul play? Nearly four years later, a motorcyclist found the McStays' remains in and around two shallow graves, one hundred miles away in the Mojave Desert. Their skulls showed signs of blunt-force trauma, likely due to the sledgehammer buried with them. Authorities focused on Charles "Chase" Merritt, a close friend and subcontractor for Joseph's company. Despite a lack of physical evidence, scenarios that defied logic, and numerous unanswered questions, prosecutors convinced a jury of Merritt's guilt. After an emotional sentencing hearing, the judge imposed the death penalty. But did another possible suspect, who was ignored by investigators and ducked a subpoena to testify, get away with murder? On today's TCT, Caitlin Rother joins the show to talk about the players surrounding the McStay family, why they had motive to do them harm, why they did and didn't harm them, and what faults the McStays themselves had that lead to their eventual downfall... On Sunday, October 17, 2021, Heidi Planck, a 39-year-old divorced mother of one left the townhome that she rented in the Palms area of West LA near Culver City and got into her silver Range Rover. She brought along her Labradoodle dog, Seven, and set out for her son, Bond's football game in Downey, California, about 17 miles away. But Heidi left the game early, and after texting with her son that evening, suddenly went radio silent. Her last known whereabouts were at a luxury high rise residential building called the Hope and Flower in downtown LA at 6:30 that night and then Heidi Planck simply...vanished. Her dog was found by residents of the Hope and Flower building on the 29th floor wandering aimlessly. Heidi Planck has never been heard from or seen again. Joseph McStay and his wife, Summer, along with their two little boys, Gianni and Joe Jr had just moved into a new house in November of 2010. On February 4, 2011, Joseph left to go have lunch with a business partner and friend named Chase Merritt in the early afternoon. By February 13, when Joseph's mother had not heard from him, she had his brother, Michael, go check on the family. What Michael found in their home was fruit rotting on the counter and a half eaten bowl of popcorn on the table. The family's two dogs were out in the yard. It was as if, on that day, February 4, 2011, the whole McStay family had simply...vanished.Show Notes:https://blood-money.simplecast.com/https://dateline-missing-in-america.simplecast.com/https://www.oxygen.com/killer-motive/season-2/episode-1/the-mcstay-family-mystery

Read about Patrick's fight to keep his family's case in the forefront, and about the love he shared with his son for so many years.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Send us a Text Message. In February 2010, the McStay family—Joseph, Summer, and their two young children, Gianni and Joseph Jr.—vanished without a trace from their home in Fallbrook, California. Their disappearance quickly became one of the most perplexing and chilling mysteries of the decade. The McStays seemed to lead a normal life, running a small business and living in a modest home. But on February 4th, the family's sudden and unexplained disappearance set off alarm bells. The last known sighting of them was captured on a security camera of their car leaving their driveway. Months passed, and the case grew colder. Speculation ranged from theories of a financial dispute gone awry to potential connections with criminal networks. The McStay family's sudden and eerie silence left investigators grasping for answers. Then, in November 2013, the case took a harrowing twist. In February 2010, the 4 members of the McStay family - Joseph, Summer, Gianni, and Joseph Jr. - disappeared from their home in Fallbrook, CA. For the next several years, many believed they were voluntarily missing, but their family was sure they had met with foul play. When their bodies were found in November 2013, investigators revisited some suspects they initially talked to, but the man they ended up charging with the murders maintains his innocence to this day. This week a terrible story hit the news about a family that was kidnapped and murdered in California. The kidnapper took the baby, the child's parents and the uncle at gunpoint on Monday and killed them, leaving their bodies in an almond orchard. The man suspected of kidnapping the family, Jesus Manuel Salgado, was taken into custody Tuesday. The horrific crime was eerily similar to another California family; The McStay family who was murdered in 2012. Today, hear a show that you might remember about the evil that exists in this world from the week the McStay family was found. How could this happen? Are God and religion dead? Callers on the evil they have witnessed and the darkness that surrounds us. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
