Eating in the evening isn't a problem in itself! But if it feels like autopilot or you're going beyond comfy fullness, it might be mindless eating in action. I have struggled with mindless evening eating in the past and I've recently had this old habit creep up on me and as I share in this episode, I've spent well over 100k on my health and education over the past few years and I still struggle at times. In this episode, we want to share the two main areas contributing to mindless evening eating: the physiological side and the psychological side. We'll discuss the signals you're receiving from your body from that day's nutrient intake and why this may be a factor with your hunger cues. We'll also dive into the psychological side and break down some key habits around eating such as plating your food instead of eating it out of the container or package, removing distractions, breathing deep and relaxing before eating, and more! Today we are talking about Productivity Strategy #4 to Stick with Your Calendar Time Blocks, which is to Remove Distractions. Any distraction will hurt your productivity. When you combine distractions with a rigid work schedule, it's tempting to cut corners. Business professionals avert this scenario by considering any distractions in advance and preparing for them. You can only remove distractions if you know what distracts you. While some people get distracted by the TV, other people get distracted by surfing the web. Knowing what distracts you gives you the power to remove those distractions from your life. The next time you get distracted, write down what distracted you. Compile a list of distractions and identify how to move those distractions further out of reach. Turn off the Wi-Fi when performing tasks that don't require Wi-Fi. Move the TV remote to a different room, so it's more difficult to watch TV instead of work. Each barrier you put in front of your distractions enables you to get more done in less time. The Accountability Minute:Business Acceleration|Productivity
Today we are talking about Tip #2 for Staying Focused and on Track to Achieving Your Goals, which is to Remove Distractions and Interruptions from Your Life.Wasting time on low priority tasks is one of the most common sources of interrupting your success. Email - texting - social media - internet surfing - personal phone calls - chatting - etc. are time wasters for many of us. Work hours should be reserved for high payoff work. Distractions need to be a thing of the past and not the present, if you want to achieve your goals in the timeframe you have set. Close email and any open internet browsers that you don't need outside of specific time blocks when you need to work on email. Turn off the ringer on your phone or filter calls through a team member, is ideal. Remove paperwork (if your business isn't yet paperless) that you are not currently working on from your sight. Create a system that works best for you - and stick to it. Consistent execution of new habits that put you in the highest probability position to make better progress so you can create the business and life you want is key. No more will you let “shiny objects” distract you from what you know you need to be doing. Tune in tomorrow for Tip #3 for helping you stay focused, so you can achieve your goals. 80 - Dopamine Dizziness Dopamine Detox: A Short Guide to Remove Distractions and Get Your Brain to Do Hard Things by Thibaut Meurisse What are you addicted to? Where are you feeling like you're getting your primary sources of stimulation or overstimulation? What is it that distracts you? Do you feel like some companies and websites are trying to manipulate you into visiting it more or buying more? Try to get rid of those distractions so that you can focus on the essential things. You only have so much time and attention. You only have so much money and resources. If dopamine leads you astray, you will use your resources in the wrong places. You won’t get your goals, and you will waste your resources on things that don’t matter. Get away from the dopamine drug, which is always working on the next thing. Do the next something! Instead, focus on what he calls the “here and now neurotransmitters,” which he calls endorphins, oxytocin, serotonin. Those are all things that try to bring us to our present. They are all things that try to award us for the immediate things happening, not the promises of the next great thing. He says give it 30 minutes. Give it a shot and see if it works for you. He thinks you should do a 24 or 48-hour detox. That means to give up all the things that give you that dopamine hit. Start immediately in the morning, so you don’t get on the rollercoaster. Make sure you don’t start using some other dopamine-inducing activity and replace the old behavior with just another new distraction. Challenge Could do his 48-hour detox, you can do him 24-hour detox, but let's start even smaller just to ensure we don't fail. What is the number one thing that leads you to distraction and keeps you in that dopamine cycle? Can we just for one day get rid of it? And see, when we don't have our doom scrolling on Facebook when we don't have that chocolate cake we've been looking forward to all day. It's going to be tough, but it will help you go towards your goals. So, can you just get rid of those things for one day? And if you find that you can't figure out what it is that stopped you from doing it.

Tip #4: Get Clear on the Why When you get clear on why you're working on any particular task, you can intellectually grasp whether you really need to be doing it at all or having someone else do it. Try this exercise: Ask yourself, “Why am I doing ___________________ (insert task)?” If your answer isn't a good enough why, you know you shouldn't be spending your valuable time on it, and it is something that needs to be delegated. Tip #5: Chunk Like-Tasks Together Prep time and pre-task setup can eat up huge amounts of your time, so chunk like-tasks together. Another benefit to chunking? Reducing the “scatter-brain” effect. Multi-tasking and jumping between tasks reduces your brain's ability to maintain focus, effectiveness and efficiency. Examples of chunking your time include something like: Listening to voicemail/returning important phone calls - reading emails/replying to urgent inquiries – making prospecting calls – seeing clients in your office – creating marketing materials - coordinating off-site meetings with other appointments/errands - etc. Along this same line of thinking, consider scheduling time to really prepare for the meeting on your calendar (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes). This helps to ensure you have the right way of being to get the result you want and make sure you aren't thinking of something you just finished or anything else. Also, schedule time after your meeting to complete any actions you need to, so you don't have to try and remember them later in the day, two days later, or at the end of the week. Get things done and the move on to the next meeting or activity with a clear head for that meeting or activity. Tip #6: Create a Time Blocked Schedule Create hour blocks in your workday where you focus on a single task or a chunk of like-tasks. During that block of time, nothing else gets your attention, except the task or tasks in front of you. (Remove all other distractions by clearing your desk, turning off your phone, closing email, etc.) At the end of the block (1, 2, 3 or 4 hours) whatever was on your calendar is now finished. Let it go and move on to the next scheduled task. Tip #7: Live Life By Appointment Only! When someone calls in, have your assistant take a complete and in-depth message, and schedule a time you will return the call. I have never heard of anyone who says the like ‘phone tag.' So, stop phone tag! Meet with your assistant and other team members by appointment only to reduce interruptions. One exception to this rule that I can think of is that the building is burning and someone needs to tell you to get out – you don't need an appointment for that… As much as possible, live your life by face-to-face or phone appointments only. You'll be amazed at how much more efficient you and your team will be by applying this one single concept alone. Tip #8: Ready-Set-Go! For intense task completion, use a timer and set it for 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes. Using a timer allows you to create a game or healthy competition against the clock - giving your focus and energy an edge. You'd be surprised how much you can accomplish when you create a fun or somewhat competitive environment. Tip #9: Do What You Do Best, Delegate the Rest You should only be focusing on the tasks that you complete with the greatest efficiency, effectiveness and results. Everything else should be delegated to a team member, assistant, or virtual assistant who produces the best results. Ask yourself, “Could someone else do what I'm doing, if I just assigned it to them, told them how or gave them a process to get it done?” Too many entrepreneurs I talk to hold on to things way too long just because they have always done them. Successful entrepreneurs are good delegators! Download my Free Delegation List Sample Exercise to help you identify more activities to delegate, by going to http://bit.ly/2Qc5adp. Tip #10: Leverage Your Peak Energy Each person has their own unique time of the day when they are at their peak energy. Whether you're an early bird or night owl, tackle the tasks that require the most energy and focus to complete during your unique peak energy - you'll get more done in less time with optimal results. Ask yourself, “When is the best time to get the best result for the various activities you do each day?” Tip #11: Eat Healthy for Real Energy Being an entrepreneur requires real energy; sugar, caffeine, and processed foods only offer a false energy and the afternoon energy crash can be severe. Reduce or eliminate sugar, caffeine, and processed foods as much as possible, while boosting raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains to maintain steady and consistent high energy. Some studies suggest having a small snack/meal every 2-3 hours. Review these 11 tips and decide which ones you will implement first for even greater success, so you can enjoy having your ideal business and ideal life. Aim for what you want each and every day! The key is to find an effective way to handle our daily routine to stay focused and on track to achieve your goals in the shortest amount of time and the least amount of effort. Tip #1: Break Goals Down Into Daily Action Steps - and Track Them Somewhere between running a business and having a personal life, it's not uncommon for our goals to fall by the wayside. Sure, we write out a Goal List, but it ends up at the bottom of a large stack of papers on our desk or filed away in a drawer, or in an electronic file on your desktop. When you are aware of your sabotaging habits, you can easily spot them - and stop them - from distracting you from your success. If you are not paying attention to your goals on a daily basis, you're probably taking the long way around. Break goals down into daily action steps and put them into your daily calendar/diary/or planner. Those action steps should be labeled high priority and handled as early on in the day as possible, or at the best time that leads to the best result. No excuses. Tip #2: Remove Distractions and Interruptions from Your Life Wasting time on low priority tasks is one of the most common sources of interrupting your success. Email - texting - social media - internet surfing - personal phone calls - chatting - etc. are time wasters for many of us. Work hours should be reserved for work. Distractions need to be a thing of the past and not the present, if you want to achieve your goals in the timeframe you have set. (Close email and internet outside specific time blocks. Turn off the ringer on your phone or filter calls through a team member. Remove paperwork that you are not currently working on from your sight.) Create a system that works best for you - and stick to it. Consistent execution of new habits that put you in the highest probability position to make better progress, so you can create the business and life you want is key. Tip #3: Be Aware of Sabotaging Habits No one is ever completely free of self-sabotaging habits, which is why it's important to be aware of your tendencies. When you are aware of your sabotaging habits, you can easily spot them - and stop them - from distracting you from your success. Whether you create procrastination, overwhelm, emotional crisis, physical exhaustion, relationship drama - or a host of other common habits - you're creating self-sabotage. Achieving your goals becomes a lot easier when you can spot troublesome habits, and consciously and quickly get yourself back on track. Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” 1 Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor [b]sodomites,” When you are trying to dominate you must first remove all distractions so that you can then follow the law of God. God has created the 10 amendments and they must be followed and in order to dominate and meet your goals you also must make sure that you are following the laws that were put in place by God. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/pink-millionaire/message
Let me know which type of episodes you prefer. I talk about a lot of random stuff this episode related to the future of the podcast (note: one episode to be released per week for the next two weeks. Please use this episode as a way to help fall asleep, or if you are looking to take control of your sleep then feel free to practice what I do in this episode. This episode goes in many directions, it might as well be me instead of you imo. Insomnia sucks but the way I talk tends to put people to sleep and induce yawns. I'm going old school with a stream-of-consciousness episode where I talk about the podcast and where it's headed, sleeping tips, removing distractions, and vocalizing the ridiculousness of how many damn apps I have on my (and likely our) phones. It's time we take step up, action up, and make our days chase up. This podcast is best suited for anyone that has insomnia, needs sleep, or just wants to get their mind off their day. About Droolish: Droolish is a sleep and relaxation podcast, focused on varied subjects with the goal to help remove insomnia, improve relaxation, and help you go to sleep. I know you've got some incredible offers, and you have some dream clients who are looking at those offers but not moving forward. You may be wondering what's going on and how to get them to take that next step. First, reframe this idea of getting them to buy and shift things from convincing to simply giving them what they need to make the right decision for them. In order to do that, I've got six elements that are going to boost your conversion rates by helping your dream clients make a decision NOW. Increase the Clarity of Your Offer If you're not converting, take a look at the clarity of your offer. Is it actually really clear what you're offering, what they will get, and what they should expect? Increase Relevancy This is all about aligning your offer to your audience. The key here is getting to know your audience. What are they struggling with? Why is this important to them? How is this going to help them? Align your messaging and your offer to your dream clients so that they feel like you are speaking directly to them. Improve your Value Proposition Make your offer even more attractive to your audience in one of two ways: Share the benefits of your offer and make sure you're highlighting how it's going to help your audience get what they want or avoid something they don't. Add value by offering bonuses! Use bonuses to tackle their biggest objections related to your offer, to give them the information they need as a prerequisite to your offer, or simply to give them some extra support. Increase Trust When it comes to buying, someone has to really trust you and there are a few ways that you can make sure that this happens. Show testimonials and results from real clients. You want to show them that it's possible for them too! Create some kind of guarantee. An example of that would be a 30-day money back guarantee. Ensure a seamless and secure checkout. Keep them on the same domain and make sure your branding is consistent throughout. You want them to feel comfortable. Answer the most frequently asked questions. Remove Distractions Give them an offer without many choices. You don't want to give all kinds of different up sales, down sales, payment plans, etc. You want to offer some payment plans but not too many. Maybe have one payment plan and the offer to pay in full. Increase the Urgency Here are 3 ways that you can do this: Limit the availability of your offer. For example, only 3 spots available. Create a limited time offer. For example, for a limited time, the price is less or there are extra bonuses available. Mostly importantly, help them understand the cost of waiting. If you're going to increase urgency, this is the truest and most motivating urgency and that is helping them understand what they are sacrificing if they do not move forward now. How is it hurting them? How is it delaying their dreams? "Why should they choose your offer over something else? It doesn't matter if you have more experience, what matters is what's going to be different for them!" - Kathryn Binkley #scaletoseven Let's Connect See all that Kathryn has to offer at kathrynbinkley.com Connect more with Kathryn on Instagram! Ask yourself, “Why am I doing ___________________ (insert task)?” If your answer isn't a good enough why, you know you shouldn't be spending your valuable time on it. Examples of chunking your time include: Listening to voicemail/returning important phone calls - reading emails/replying to urgent inquiries – making prospecting calls – seeing clients in your office – creating marketing materials - coordinating off-site meetings with other appointments/errands - etc. Along this same line of thinking, consider scheduling time to really prepare for the meeting on your calendar (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes). Also, schedule time after your meeting to complete any actions you need to so you don't have to try and remember them later in the day, two days later, or at the end of the week. Get things done and the move on to the next meeting with a clear head for that meeting. Tip #6: Create a Block Schedule Create hour blocks in your workday where you focus on a single task or a chunk of like-tasks. During that block of time, nothing else gets your attention, except the task or tasks in front of you. At the end of the block (1, 2, 3 or 4 hours) whatever was on your calendar is now finished. Tip #7: Live Life By Appointment Only! When someone calls in, have your assistant take a complete and in-depth message, and schedule a time you will return the call. I have never heard of anyone who says the life ‘phone tag.' So, stop phone tag! Meet with your assistant and other team members by appointment only to reduce interruptions. As much as possible, live your life by face-to-face or phone appointments only. You'll be amazed at how much more efficient you are by applying this one concept. Successful entrepreneurs are excellent delegators! Review these 11 tips and decide which ones you will implement first for even greater success. As a business owner, there are things you must do in order to accomplish your goals so you can have the kind of business and life you have dreamed of having. From managing a team to handling clients - and everything in between - it can be easy to lose complete control of your day. We all have the same 24 hours available each day; it’s how we chose to use those 24 hours that’s makes the difference. Meetings, client services, and a To-Do List a mile long are frequent daily tasks in the world of running a business. The key is find an effective way to handle our daily routine to stay focused and on track to achieve your goals in the shortest amount of time and the least amount of effort. Tip #1: Break Goals Down in to Daily Action Steps - and Track Them Somewhere between running a business and having a personal life, it’s not uncommon for our goals to fall by the wayside. If you are not paying attention to your goals on a daily basis, you’re probably taking the long way around. Break goals down into daily action steps and put them into your daily calendar/diary/planner. Close email and internet outside specific time blocks. Turn off the ringer on your phone or filter calls through a team member. Remove paperwork that you are not currently working on from your sight. Create a system that works best for you - and stick to it. Consistent execution of new habits that put you in the highest probability position to make better progress, so you can create the business and life you want. Tip #3: Be Aware of Sabotaging Habits No one is ever completely free of self-sabotaging habits, which is why it’s important to be aware of your tendencies. When you are aware of your sabotaging habits, you can easily spot them - and stop them - from distracting you from your success. Whether you create procrastination, overwhelm, emotional crisis, physical exhaustion, relationship drama - or a host of other common habits - you’re creating self-sabotage. Achieving your goals becomes a lot easier when you can spot troublesome habits, and consciously and quickly get yourself back on track. Tip #4: Get Clear on the Why When you get clear on why you’re working on any particular task, you can intellectually grasp whether you really need to be doing it at all or having someone else do it. Ask yourself, “Why am I doing ___________________ (insert task)?” If your answer isn’t a good enough why, you know you shouldn’t be spending your valuable time on it. Tip #5: Chunk Like-Tasks Together Prep time and pre-task setup can eat up huge amounts of your time, so chunk like-tasks together. Another benefit to chunking? Reducing the “scatter-brain” effect. Multi-tasking and jumping between tasks reduces your brain’s ability to maintain focus, effectiveness and efficiency. Also, schedule time after your meeting to complete any actions you need to so you don’t have to try and remember them later in the day, two days later, or at the end of the week. I have never heard of anyone who says the life ‘phone tag.’ So, stop phone tag! Meet with your assistant and other team members by appointment only to reduce interruptions. As much as possible, live your life by face-to-face or phone appointments only. You’ll be amazed at how much more efficient you are by applying this one concept. Tip #8: Ready-Set-Go! For intense task completion, use a timer and set it for 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes. Using a timer allows you to create a game or healthy competition against the clock - giving your focus and energy an edge. You’d be surprised how much you can accomplish when you create a fun or somewhat competitive environment. Tip #9: Do What You Do Best, Delegate the Rest You should only be focusing on the tasks that you complete with the greatest efficiency, effectiveness and results. Everything else should be delegated to a team member, assistant, or virtual assistant who produces the best results. Ask yourself, “Could someone else do what I’m doing, if I just assigned it to them, told them how or gave them a process to get it done?” Too many entrepreneurs I talk to hold on to things way too long just because they have always done them. Successful entrepreneurs are excellent delegators! Tip #10: Leverage Your Peak Energy Each person has their own unique time of the day when they are at their peak energy. Whether you’re an early bird or night owl, tackle the tasks that require the most energy and focus to complete during your unique peak energy - you’ll get more done in less time with optimal results. Review these 11 tips and decide which ones you will implement first for even greater success. My hope for our time together is that you got value and an idea or two that will help you be even more successful – personally and professionally. How much time do we waste reading about ways to become more productive? Do you really need to read another article about the top 10 habits of a billionaire? Productivity requires deliberate action and today’s interview with Jeff Sanders will tell you how to do just that — take action while staying motivated. Jeff will also be telling us about his new productivity academy, The Rockin' Productivity Academy and how you can be a part of it. Listen now! Brief Bio: In today’s episode, Ted interviews keynote speaker, author of the best-selling and award-winning book on productivity, The 5 AM Miracle: Dominate Your Day Before Breakfast, and founder of The Rockin' Productivity Academy, Jeff Sanders. Jeff is also the host of The 5 AM Miracle Podcast, which has ranked #1 in iTunes in the Self-Help and Business categories, been nominated for 4 Podcast Awards, and exceeded 4 million downloads. He is a 10-time marathon runner, personal development junkie, and passionate raw vegan. Every week you can find Jeff writing and speaking at JeffSanders.com. In this episode, you’ll learn: What’s driving your desire to become productive (06:12) Why productivity isn't about luck but about being intentional (09:58) Why do you fall off the productivity wagon (11:00) 3 Tips to be more productive (13:39) More on Jeff’s Rocking Productivity Academy (25:08) The importance of having a community and coach to help you see results (16:31) When hacking your life becomes distracting (23:53) 5 Ways to build a habit of taking action (30:02) What to do when you're feeling unmotivated (32:42) Ted's Take-Aways Productivity is about removing not adding— If you are one of those people who keep adding things into your life to make you more productive; the reminder, the tracking devices and the constant “pings” from your notification —you are missing the point. Optimizing your life is supposed to simplify things. After a while, these gadgets become a distraction and you end up spending most of your time focusing on the gadgets and the preparatory steps but then you never take action. Try simplifying things to improve your productivity. You have to be fully committed to whatever you are doing —This is the biggest takeaway. If you are not fully committed to what you are doing, it will not work. Getting results take commitment. Find what motivates you and it will become easier to stay committed. Get a coach — If you believe you need help with staying motivated or you can’t figure out what goals you need to prioritize, or if you have fitness goals that you’re trying to achieve but you’re having little or no results, it’s time to get a coach. Having a coach will help you get over those obstacles that often causes you to stumble and give up on your goal. If you think you need help with being productive and you’re ready to take your life and productivity to the next level check out Jeff’s Resources: Connect with Jeff: The Legendary Fat Loss Blueprint Keep these takeaways in mind.
