Ahead of Week 16 vs. the Miami Dolphins, Bengals QB Joe Burrow addressed the media with candid, reflective, and at times cryptic comments about his mindset, the season, and his future in the NFL. In his opening remarks, Burrow made one thing clear: he still loves playing football. “I just want to play ball” was the overarching theme of his message — emphasizing that his passion for the game is what keeps him going, even through adversity. Burrow said it often feels like “everybody's trying to do everything in their power to make me not play football,” but he's fighting through it because he likes playing the game. When asked about the possibility of playing elsewhere, Burrow gave an intriguing answer: “You think about a lot of things.” While he didn't close the door on future possibilities, he also said he “can't see a world in which he's not with the Bengals in 2026.” He reiterated that he expects to play for a long time, projecting confidence in his longevity and performance at a high level, even as this season has been one of setbacks and frustration. Burrow also supported his coaches and teammates, suggesting that while changes might be needed, the organization has the right people in place — and that everyone wants the same thing: to win. Rick has Paul Fritschner on to discuss Xavier's recent 3-1 stretch where the Musketeers have taken on a strong identity and shown major improvement since the back-to-back losses to Santa Clara and Iowa.
The Cincinnati Bengals (3-6) face a must-win scenario in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, November 16, at Acrisure Stadium. Trailing in the AFC North, the Bengals desperately need a victory to salvage their playoff hopes, especially after a gritty 24-17 win over Pittsburgh in Week 7, where Joe Flacco stepped in admirably, throwing for 342 yards. However, with Joe Burrow's status uncertain amid injury whispers, the offense hinges on Ja'Marr Chase's explosiveness and a resurgent ground game led by Chase Brown. The Steelers enter as 5.5-point favorites, with a total of 49.5 points signaling a high-scoring affair. Pittsburgh's defense, anchored by T.J. Watt, has terrorized quarterbacks, while their run-heavy attack with Najee Harris exploits Cincinnati's leaky front seven. Yet, the Bengals boast a perfect 2-0 divisional record this season and cover +5.5 in models like ESPN's, thanks to their pass rush disrupting Ben Roethlisberger's successor. Expect a revenge-fueled battle—Bengals ML +195 offers value for underdogs hungry to flip the script. Fresh off their first postseason berth since 2013, the Cincinnati Reds are buzzing with free agency ambition, and Kyle Schwarber tops the wishlist. ESPN's Jeff Passan calls signing the slugging DH the "perfect transaction" to turbocharge an offense that slashed .240 collectively in 2025. The Cincinnati native crushed 47 homers with an .928 OPS for the Phillies, thriving in a hitter-friendly park like GABP, where his pull power could yield 50+ dingers annually. Rumors hinge on a $60 million variable—Schwarber's Phillies loyalty versus Cincy's hometown pull and deeper pockets post-playoff revenue. A projected six-year, $150M deal could pair him with Elly De La Cruz for a fearsome core, transforming the Reds into NL Central contenders. Local ties ignite belief: Schwarber to Reds feels destined, per insiders, bridging nostalgia with firepower for 2026 glory. Music from #InAudio: https://inaudio.org/ Track Name Holy (Trap). Paul Fritschner joins Rick Broering to discuss Xavier's First Four matchup in the NCAA Tournament against Texas.
On March 17, 2025, the Cincinnati Bengals made a bold statement by securing massive contract extensions for their star wide receivers, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, ensuring their dynamic offensive core remains intact alongside quarterback Joe Burrow. Chase, a four-time Pro Bowler and one of the NFL's elite talents, signed a record-breaking four-year, $161 million deal with $112 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. Higgins, a reliable and explosive No. 2 receiver, inked a four-year, $115 million contract, with the first two years fully guaranteed, cementing his status as the highest-paid WR2 in the NFL. Together, these deals total $276 million, a significant investment reflecting the Bengals' commitment to building around their passing attack. Chase's extension comes after a historic 2024 season where he led the league with 127 receptions, 1,708 yards, and 17 touchdowns, earning first-team All-Pro honors and a top-10 finish in MVP voting. His chemistry with Burrow, dating back to their LSU days, has been a cornerstone of Cincinnati's offense, and this deal ensures that partnership thrives through 2029. Higgins, meanwhile, has been a consistent force since being drafted in 2020, amassing 330 receptions for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns over five (-five seasons. Despite injuries limiting him to 12 games in 2024, he still posted 73 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns, proving his value as a big-play threat. His new contract ends speculation about his future after two years on the franchise tag, securing his long-term role in Cincinnati. These extensions signal a shift for the Bengals, a franchise historically cautious with spending, now prioritizing offensive firepower. With Burrow already on a $275 million deal, the trio's combined salaries could consume nearly 40% of the 2025 cap, raising questions about defensive investment—especially with edge rusher Trey Hendrickson's extension still unresolved. Hendrickson, coming off a 17.5-sack season, seeks a raise, but the Bengals' focus on Chase and Higgins might limit their flexibility. For Bengals fans, this is a thrilling commitment to contention, locking in two of the league's top receivers. Chase and Higgins celebrated the news with identical handshake emojis on social media, a nod to their brotherhood and shared triumph. As Cincinnati aims to reclaim AFC supremacy after missing the playoffs in 2024, these deals solidify an offense poised to dominate for years.
