Chris Lee and Blake Lovell break down Kentucky's game with Eastern Michigan, which will be shown on ESPNU at 6:30 Central on Saturday night. Topics include: Is Kentucky a bad football team, or just a quality one that suffers from comparison within a hyper-competitive Southeastern Conference? Kentucky needs to solve its quarterback woes with production from either Zach Calzada (who may be out for the Eastern Michigan game) or Cutter Boley, who played at the end of the Ole Miss loss after Calzada got hurt. The 'Cats have a big-play threat at running back in Nebraska transfer Dante Dowdell. Kentucky's defense is a quality one, led by productive linebacker Alex Afari. Eastern Michigan's defense has been abysmal, allowing 606 yards and 52 points in a loss to Texas State, and 479 yards in a stunning defeat to Long Island (which had two first downs vs. Florida the week before). Quarterback Noah Kim (41-of-63, 437 yards, 3 TD, 0 interceptions) is the player to watch for the Eagles. Coach Ian Moini is not just building a strong running program at UNC, he's building a pipeline of success. In just his mid-20s, Ian has gone from standout athlete to one of the youngest and most effective associate head coaches in NCAA distance running. Since his last appearance, North Carolina's distance squad has leveled up in a big way: ACC titles, school records, and a national 5,000m championship led by Parker Wolfe. Behind all of that? Ian — shaping the training, the mindset, and most importantly, the culture. But here's what makes Ian different: he's a master recruiter. He knows what college coaches are looking for, because he isthe coach they're trying to beat. His track record isn't just about fast times, it's about finding the right athletes, building trust, and helping them grow into something bigger than themselves. And he's lived it from every angle. From winning New Jersey state titles in high school, to breaking 4:15 in the mile at UNC, to grinding as a volunteer coach while still a student at Eastern Michigan, Ian's journey is all about work ethic, humility, and pushing people to unlock their full potential.A lot's changed since he was last on, but one thing hasn't: Ian sees the big picture. He knows that long-term success takes more than talent, it takes the right environment, the right support, and the right belief. If you're serious about running in college, this is a conversation you don't want to miss.In today's conversation, Coach Ian Moini takes me deep into the world of how to get recruited to run at the next level, whether you're the top recruit in the nation or just someone who wants to run at the next level. We tackle every question in the book, common misconceptions, and inside stories from one of the best recruiters in the country. Tap into the Coach Ian Moini Special. In this edition of the Gold & Blue Breakdown Show, Couz and Jonathan will break down the latest transfer commits for WVU football. They will look at stats, PFF grades and how they fit into the Mountaineer program. Offensive lineman, Carson Lee, who spent most of his career at Eastern Michigan, has committed to WVU. The former Colorado Buffalo is transferring from Mississippi State, where he originally transferred during the winter cycle. Defensive back Darrian Lewis from Akron is transferring to WVU. Lewis has three years of experience in the MAC and has played over 1k snaps in his career. Linebacker, John Lewis, has committed to playing for WVU. The former Mississippi State Bulldog had transferred to UNLV in the Winter, but decided to enter the portal again and is now headed to Morgantown. JUCO defensive back, Kaden Gray, has also committed to WVU. Finally, the guys will talk about the plan for Coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff moving forward. With the roster limit numbers that will be required still up in the air, there may be some decisions for the staff to make. Meanwhile, they are still pursuing more players in the portal. What is the plan?
