The news from Thursday night's Jan. 6 committee hearing that really struck Molly Jong-Fast was that instead of trying to stop the violence, Trump wanted to call senators and pressure them to throw out the election results or delay the certification. And of course he talked to Rudy Giuliani.“Rudy's always the first call you make because you gotta get the bad ideas from someone,” says co-host Andy Levy.“I would not let Rudy Giuliani pick a pair of shoelaces for me. And this, the president of the United States, is turning to him for advice on elections.” Also on the show NBC's senior reporter Jon Allen & Mark Lobovitch on his new book Thank You For Your Servitude: Donald Trump's Washington and the Price of Submission.  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Episode 17 is sponsored by FORWARD TO CAMELOT, the JFK assassination time-travel thriller by Susan Sloate and Kevin Finn.In Jam 1, we talk about THE NATIONAL PULSE, an online political magazine in which Susan has just published her first article about Chloroquine and its possible implications for the coronavirus. There are also some interesting correlations between chloroquine and malaria patients (Hint: malaria patients taking chloroquine show far LESS infection from coronavirus than patients who haven't taken it!)In Jam 2, we talk about favorite Easter films, including THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, SON OF GOD, and others. We also discuss the news that Mel Gibson is doing a sequel to THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (15 years later!), once again starring Jim Caviezel as Jesus. The new version will cover the Resurrection, so it should be well worth seeing--with none of that horrible violence from the original to worry about! Also, check out the free app called The Chosen by VidAngel. An excellent series on the life of Jesus when he met the disciples. Jam 3 is a special off-the-cuff jam we recorded last week--when Susan couldn't contain herself and just had to call Kelly after being on a conference call with THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! Welcome to the 2nd season of The Corporate Corner. In this episode Mats will talk about the why for this 2nd season and also why the 1st season unexpectedly stopped. He will share the intention for this season which is to broaden the scope of the guests and also have some people on their way into the corporate life or who have recently left it. The intention is also to give a voice to people working in what is not always considered corporate, but people who have life stories to share around their work in different contexts. Mats will talk about the transatlantic move he and the family has made to land in Northern California and the challenges and benefits that came with that. He will share his thoughts on how polarized the socitey has become and how the behaviour of politicians trickle down in the society and Mats will share the analogy with a bee hive that went from hostile to nice in 3 days when the queen was exchanged. In a political rant he will share how he first discovered how politicians directly can impact managers in the corporate life and he will also talk about a book he has read: "A very stable genius" which is not very flattering for the President of the United States. To counterbalance that he will tell something we all could learn from POTUS. In this 2nd season the aim is to have bi-weekly episodes. Support the show

Certain Folks are gonna get triggered by this observation, but its not meant to be overly personal or triggering. Its simply meant to be honest. Unless, you're the PM of Canada, The President Of The United States, there is typically always room to make time for Others. There are many successful businessmen/businesswomen, teachers etc who even with their almost full calendars, will graciously make time for others. That act of showing up & that act of decency is to be appreciated & cherished. There are far too many Folks that I've known & know who literally don't have more than a basic job & who only party but are unwilling/unable to make time for others. There's a difference between being active & being "busy" Its good to have self esteem & its good to feel important. Don't get it twisted. It is also good to make time & to show up in the arena! Respect isn't given, it is earned!

Welcome to the first episode of The Spill, our daily entertainment podcast that covers all the stories you don't need to know but really want to. On the show today... Big Little Lies Season 2 wasn't exactly what fans were expecting and it turns out that internal politics are to blame.  So what was going on behind the scenes that's meant people aren't happy? There were some big announcements about strong female characters from Comic-Con this weekend including the news that Natalie Portman will be playing a new version of Thor, Goddess of Thunder.  So is this Marvel trying to make up for making her "just a girlfriend" in the previous Thor movies? A$AP Rocky is currently detained in a Swedish jail and every celebrity in town is trying to get him out, including The President Of The United States.   So why is child star Justin Bieber the only person who appears to be making sense? And Lindsay Lohan is in Australia for her new job on The Masked Singer Australia.  So is this going to be like every other second chance she's been given or are we about to witness the ULTIMATE redemption story?   In honor of President's Day and with today being the month of Black History I would like to take the time to pay honor to those elected to serve as The President Of The United States as two of our past presidents were born during the month of February. I along with my guest Dr. Lisa Romain will pay honor to the amazing contribution that many African Americans have made by standing up for change and injustice. Many of us do not know our history. Sad to say that for years I was one of them yet I am still learning about the amazing contribution that many individuals have made. Yet sadly many individuals take for granted the path that was set and the doors that have been open as many have died, fought, cried and prayed for change. Black History Month began as Negro History Week which was created in 1926 by Carter G Woodson a noted African American historian, scholar, educator, and publisher. It became a long month of celebration in 1976. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Fedrick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. There is still work to to do so let's give honor to those individuals including family members and individuals past and present. Join me by calling 516 387-1914 on 2/20/17 at 12pm Pacific. We will be talking about our favorite and most influential president and those that have changed history and made an impact on our life. I
