In this episode, Leila sits down with Jenn to discuss her book Primal Loss: The Now-Adult Children of Divorce Speak. In it, Leila shares insights from her interviews with 70 adults who experienced divorce during their childhood, adolescence, or young adulthood. The book reveals the profound impact divorce has on individuals, no matter their age. Their conversation is both moving and insightful, offering valuable perspectives whether or not you've personally been affected by divorce. Leila's book is a powerful resource for anyone looking to understand the experience of divorce, especially in a culture that primarily claims children care more about extra Christmas presents and bedrooms than the two people they love staying married. “Then finally I started to realize that the Catholics that I interact with are dying to know more about the faith. We have so many Catholics in America that if we simply get them on fire for the truth, we'd win the whole rest of the world because we really have a gold mine just with the people who are Catholic in in in sitting in the pews,” said Leila Miller, a Catholic writer and author whose passion is Church teaching on marriage, family, human sexuality. In her new article https://crisismagazine.com/opinion/its-good-to-preach-to-the-choir in Crisis Magazine. Leila is a prolific author and loves to discuss culture, society, and politics, and generally from a conservative perspective. "Not enough people are standing up. Catholics, especially, have a role in society and the world to be salt and light, to be different. So when the world is becoming corrupt all around us, and when it's taking our children — when it's trying to steal our children for the devil — it's our job to be there as the one voice that says, 'No, we're not letting you have the children, we're not letting you have their innocence,'" said Leila Miller. "...It starts in the womb and goes all the way through. We need to be paying attention to every angle of this." Miller is the author of books, including "Primal Loss: The Now-Adult Children of Divorce Speak," and co-author with Trent Horn of "Made This Way: How to Prepare Kids to Face Today's Tough Moral Issues." “We have one judgment at the time of death. Maybe we need to go back to...really learning and teaching and meditating and praying on the four last things: death, judgment, heaven, hell. Because we are at a precipice and everybody is dancing around it, going, 'Well, you know, we don't want to be mean' or 'We don't want to look foolish in the eyes of the world.' It's like, what? We're supposed to look foolish in the eyes of the world. That was what Christ promised. So this is really do-or-die at this point. This is a time to pick a side," said Leila Miller, a Catholic author whose recent article, "Grooming Preschoolers? This Shocking Video Makes Clear: It's Time to Pick a Side," was republished by the National Catholic Register. "What divorce does is it makes children homeless," said Leila Miller, author of "Primal Loss: The Now-Adult Children of Divorce Speak." "All of a sudden, they go from having a home and an identity — to not. And they have two homes, and they're traveling between homes. Things that the adults would never allow for themselves — you'd never tell an adult, 'Oh, you have to switch homes every few days, and bring all your stuff with you' — but we do this to the kids. And then we allow them to split their identity." For more from Leila Miller, go to LeilaMiller.net. Also, listen to a prior Respect Life Radio interview (in Part 1 and Part 2) with Miller about the book, "Made This Way: How to Prepare Kids to Face Today's Tough Moral Issues," co-authored with Trent Horn.
