Without faith, it is impossible to please God. What a dramatic statement! What an absolute edict Faith is central to the Christian life. Without faith, we cannot please God. With faith, we can move mountains! Through faith, we accomplish everything from the ordinary to the impossible. The sermon emphasizes that pleasing God is fundamentally rooted in faith, as it is impossible to do so without it. Drawing from Hebrews 11:6 and Romans, the message clarifies that human nature is inherently flawed and incapable of pleasing God independently, highlighting the necessity of trusting in God's character and promises. It underscores that genuine faith involves believing in God's existence and recognizing Him as a generous rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, urging listeners to embrace this trust in their daily lives and share the gospel as a tangible expression of their faith.
A sudden open-heart surgery changes everything—and reminds us what truly matters. In this powerful episode, we reflect on that life-altering moment and turn to 1 Corinthians 13 to rediscover what it means to live a life that pleases God. More than spiritual gifts, good works, or knowledge, Paul points us to the most excellent way: a life marked by love.Support the show
Jesus is King—and He's not just building a new way forward, He's dismantling what's broken. As He passes the fig tree and speaks of moving mountains, He's not offering a blank check for our desires; He's declaring judgment on a religious system that had lost its way. This passage has often been misunderstood, fueling teachings that twist faith into a formula for getting what we want. But Jesus wasn't pointing to name-it-and-claim-it faith—He was revealing the kind of faith that trusts God's will, stands on His Word, and rests in His grace. He's calling His followers into a new kind of prayer life: rooted in humility, sustained by grace, and marked by forgiveness. True faith doesn't manipulate God—it submits to Him. As we align our hearts with His, we become people who pray boldly, trust deeply, and interpret Scripture with care, anchoring ourselves in His character and His kingdom. You can join our OneLife Sunday morning gatherings via livestream at 8:45am and 10;30am CST every Sunday morning. “Pray for What Pleases God” (1 Timothy 2:1-7)Series: Undivided AttentionIn a sense, prayer comes naturally to us. We want so we ask. We hurt so we cry out. We are frustrated so we vent. We are blessed so we give thanks. Natural! What does not come naturally, however, is a proper understanding of the privilege of prayer. Prayer is a privilege, based entirely on the unique and unearned relationship we have with God, our Father. And the purpose of prayer is really not to tell God what we want, but to claim that which God wants for us, that which is pleasing to him. Prayer provides the opportunity to bring our will into conformity with God's will, not the other way around. This week, we give our undivided attention to what God says about this access we call prayer. Along with Jesus' disciples we say, “Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1).

This message from Pastor Scott challenges listeners to reflect on a core spiritual question: Is God pleased with my life? Using the story of David transporting the Ark of the Covenant (2 Samuel 6), he highlights how sincere intentions and emotional worship are not enough if they're disconnected from obedience. When Uzzah touches the Ark to steady it and is struck dead, it reveals the seriousness of disregarding God's clear commands. David initially responds with anger and fear but, after time in reflection, repents and brings the Ark to Jerusalem in the proper way. The result is joyful worship rooted in reverence. The sermon challenges believers to examine their lives, align with God's Word in every area, and depend daily on His grace, emphasizing that obedience—empowered by the Spirit—is the true pathway to God's pleasure and blessing.
Living Hope, part 3. Faith is not just a moment of belief, but a lifestyle of relationship. By Oli Stevens.
The prayer of the upright that delights God comes from a heart that at first feels precarious in the presence of God. It trembles at his word.

Is God's approval enough? This week, our Lead Pastor, Miles Fidell, continues in Hebrews 11 with the story of Cain and Abel, showing how our lives become most pleasing to God when we live from the deep assurance that we are already approved by Him.
Happiness in life doesn't come by direct pursuit. Pastor Ray Bentley says it comes by fulfilling our God given purpose in life. The Bible says that what we were really made for is to bring pleasure to God and in so doing, fulfilling the reason that we exist. Then in return, we experience more love, more peace, more joy, more pleasure than we could have ever dreamed, and a hundred lifetimes spread.

Hello, friend. I hope you're having a good day. Some of the most difficult challenges in life come our way thanks to bad luck, bad timing, or bad actors. And when we're dealt a bad hand, it's easy to justify our choices. To be tempted by shortcuts or quick fixes. When you find yourself in such a situation, be encouraged by the example of Joseph in Genesis 39 – do what pleases God. Purchase Never Give Up here.
