Friends, here we are at episode 200 of the Worthfull Project podcast! I barely saw it coming, but I didn't want to miss the chance to reflect on the things I've learned about self-worth through six years (so far) of talking about it on this show. I'm so delighted to welcome back my dear friend and multiple-time guest on the podcast, Rebecca, to guest host this episode and . . . interview me! She is, as you will hear, quite the student of self-worth herself, and is a savvy coach who asks great questions. Thank you for listening, thank you for being on this journey with me, and thank you for remembering your worth. Mentioned in this episode: Rebecca's most recent guest appearance on the podcast EP 1 with Rebecca from November of 2017

Welcome to the fourth Special Series on the Worthfull Project podcast! If you listened to any of the Worthfull Home or Worthfull Work or Worthfull Motherhood Special Series, you'll enjoy this one focused on how we own our worth in our health -- yes, we're talking mind, body, and spirit! I have found certain topics relating to self-worth that are especially interesting to me, so I wanted to record mini episodes on each of these topics where I interview several people on the same topic to get a rich perspective on how to own my worth in these areas. This series is all about owning our worth in how we take care of ourselves. This is something I feel very passionate about, having spent the last decade of my life learning to take care of my body and spirit through wholesome diet, exercise, therapy, and self-care routines. If you knew me back in 2012, you'd know I had a significant lifestyle change that resulted in falling in love with plant-based eating, distance running, yoga, and more. Since then, I've been on a constant search for holistically healthful practices, which of course means worthfull as well. To dive deeper into this topic, I interviewed three friends who I think exemplify worthfull health beautifully. I made this series with the intention to binge listen, but enjoy however you want. This episode is with my bestie Rebecca Regnier, who has appeared many times on the podcast, and is back to share her deep wisdom on leaving her 20+ year in corporate life to found a self-care company and put her own wellness first. Dr. Pfleghaar (Dr. Jen) attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then went on to residency at St Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center for Emergency Medicine. Dr. Jen spent one year flying with Life Flight as a flight physician. She now works at local emergency rooms in the community and her office in Perrysburg, OH practicing Integrative Medicine. She is a graduate from the The University of Arizona: Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine's two year fellowship program (1,000 hour program). Dr. Jen has been featured on the local Podcast Thrive Tribe 419, a guest on Rebecca Regnier’s Full Plate (WTVG 13 abc), and has lectured at the Way Public Library. Her own health history of Hashimoto’s and having children sparked her interest in Integrative Medicine. She is very passionate about helping patients with chronic disease and letting our body heal itself. Dr. Jen is a Certified Yoga Instructor 200 hr with Aura Wellness Center and Kids Yoga with Yogafit. Her hobbies include spending time with her husband and four children, yoga, running, paddle boarding on the Maumee river and reading all things. Dr. Jen is very passionate about health. She completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. Healthcare is often symptom-focused and reactive, rather than prevention-focused and proactive. Patients and physicians rarely discuss nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle change, and instead focus mainly on diagnosis and treatment of disease. Many clinicians feel unprepared to discuss the safe and effective use of dietary supplements or herbal medicines, or how to help patients incorporate relaxation or mind-body practices into their lives. She believes it is important to take the time with each patient and develop a strong relationship. Her own health dilemma of Hashimoto’s disease, having MTHFR mutations and having her own children made her journey into Integrative Medicine a passion and a way of life. Some of her areas of focus include thyroid disease, hormonal imbalance, nutrition, ADHD, anxiety, stress reduction, eczema, and fibromyalgia. Dr. Jen is excited to work together as a team to find out the root cause of your symptoms.
Welcome to the second Special Series on the Worthfull Project podcast! If you listened to any of the Worthfull Home Special Series, you'll enjoy this one focused on how we own our worth in our work. I have found certain topics relating to self-worth that are especially interesting to me, so I wanted to record mini episodes on each of these topics where I interview several people on the same topic to get a rich perspective on how to own my worth in these areas. This series is all about owning our worth in our careers -- whatever that may look like for you. As an entrepreneur and business owner, I think about this all the time, so I interviewed three of my dear friends who I think exemplify worthfull work beautifully. I made this series with the intention to binge listen, but enjoy however you want. This episode is with my bestie Rebecca Regnier, who has appeared many times on the podcast, and is back to share her deep wisdom on pivoting from a successful career as an ad sales queen to founding her own self-care advocacy company. "We were born with the innate abilities to be at peace." Wowie! Episode 100! It didn't hit me that the podcast has come this far until I edited today's episode, recorded with my bestie and bi-annual co-host Rebecca. I am feeling a little emotional as I write this (also because I went to therapy today) and I'm letting it all come up. This podcast is the longest running personal project I've ever taken on. It's something I have learned to value, cherish, and commit to, even when I am tempted to skip it, downplay it, or just coast for a while. In commemoration of two years of the show, the end of 2019, and the start of a new chapter of life, Rebecca and I discussed the ways we are learning to cultivate inner peace, let go of what we no longer need, and turn our hearts and minds forward to what we want to create. Thank you for being with me on this worthfull journey. Show notes How to experience growth and creation while maintaining calm (4:37) A different definition of peace (10:04) Ways to cultivate peace in your heart (12:31) Why we must believe we are worthy of inner peace (20:50) How to find out what you're ready to let go of (26:55) What Rebecca and I are letting go of for the new year (28:20) How a scarcity mentality can limit you and how to reverse it (42:35) A meditation to let go and get clear on your new year intentions (44:26) Links we mention EP 1 Re-Exposing Myself to My Worth EP 26 The Worth of Buddies and Accountability EP 50 Reflections on One Year of Worthfull Living EP 75 Practicing My Worth In My Spiritual Journey Enneagram Follow Rebecca Instagram | Facebook | Pinterest
In the debut episode of the Authors' Resource Show find out what it takes to become a police detective. Listeners learn exactly what a detective's role is while investigating a crime. "We are all here to be the expression of God that is within us." Well wouldn't you know it, it's the 18 month anniversary of the Worthfull Project podcast! Time flies when you're having fun, and if it wasn't for good friends like my guest co-host Rebecca, I'd practically forget any of these milestones were coming up. If you have been listening to the WP podcast for a while, you know Rebecca is my guest on episode 1, 26, and 50 (yes, she comes on every six months to compare notes with me about how we are learning to own our worth.) She's a dear friend, wise woman, and huge support system to me. In this episode, we talk about what we are learning on our spiritual journeys since both of us have invested heavily in deepening our faith and spiritual practices in the past six months. This is definitely a "notes from the field" kind of episode, and we'd love to hear your thoughts about what you are learning in the same journey. Show notes What reiki is and how it supports spiritual healing (4:30) How we speak things into existence in our lives (9:35) How God uses multiple channels to speak to us (14:14) What it looks like to explore new sources of spiritual teaching (19:38) The value of taking our problems to God first and friends second (26:25) How we can shift our prayers to receive the answers we are ready for (34:30) What it means to be a humble servant (38:30) The connection between our spiritual journeys and owning our worth (44:54) Links we mention EP 1 Re-Exposing Myself to My Worth EP 26 The Worth of Buddies and Accountability EP 50 Reflections on One Year of Worthfull Living Reiki Heal documentary EP 2 Showing My Whole Self to the World with Christina Baltazar Stephanie Kwong Dr. Joe Dispenza Follow Rebecca Instagram | Facebook | Pinterest
"There's a remembering that's always happening while we're here." Wowie zowie, here we are at Episode 50 and the end of the first season (and the first year!) of the Worthfull Project podcast! I have all joyful emotions at this moment. Gratitude, grace, abundance, happiness, appreciation, respect, humility, and more. To think that a year ago I started this podcast because I said I would and now I've been able to experience so much beauty and connection through it is a BLESSING. To celebrate this little milestone, I invited back my first guest (and one of my best friends), Rebecca, who has been my accountability partner the whole way through. We reflect on a whole year of worthfull living, what we have created, and where we still have room to grow. I'm taking the last few weeks of the year to meditate and prep for an elevated Season 2. I can't wait to keep going on this journey with you. LISTEN ON: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Stitcher Show notes: The relationship between good things happening to us and standing in our worth (3:03) How to own your worth when you aren't working a "job" (4:51) What ownership actually means (9:20) What it looks like to own your worth while in uncharted waters (10:54) A near death experience perspective on why worth and love are the foundation of our existence (20:10) Why our perspective on our worth impacts our choices so much (24:27) The worthfull practices that have meant the most to me this year (25:30) Where Rebecca and I are still learning to own our worth (29:31) How your body signals to you when you are not owning your worth (36:05) The relationship between money and self-worth (37:30) "Recognizing where you have choice, and choosing to exercise it, is a very big deal." "I let someone else see what it looked like to get there." Well, here we are at the official 6 month mark of the podcast. Episode 26, exactly halfway through Year 1 of the Worthfull Project! I couldn't think of a better way to commemorate the first six months of this show than sitting down with my dear friend Rebecca Regnier, who is featured on episode 1, to record a 6 month check in. Actually it was her idea because she's so smart and attentive like that. The topic of this conversation is accountability -- specifically the weekly call format that Rebecca and I use to hold each other accountable to our big goals. We've been doing these for about a year with each other, and it's been a huge support to both of us. It's how we remember what matters most, focus on those parts of our lives each week, and make sure we're putting time and energy into them. I love this conversation because it reminds me that Worthfull Project may still not have been started if it hadn't been for the support of a friend like Rebecca. In case you're wondering, your goals are worth having accountability for. We hope that this conversation gives you an idea of how to get that support in your life if you're seeking it. LISTEN ON: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Stitcher Show notes: Why buddy calls are more valuable than just goal setting (2:55) The value of writing down your goals each week (8:10) How buddy calls can support all your relationships (11:02) What this kind of accountability does to support worthfull living (17:10) What happens in our brains when we celebrate our accomplishments (19:56) The value of letting friends listen to you talk about what's important to you (24:16) The value of having someone witness your evolution (30:22) What we're both going to do in the next 6 months to live worthfully (38:41) "Intention plus committed action equals results." "Love yourself girl, or nobody will." - J. Cole One of the parts of living a worthfull life I respect the most is leaving the beaten career path to do the work you're best built to do. I've experienced (and am still experiencing) that in my life and it's been one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of my journey. So I'm always interested in connecting with other people who found either the compulsion or the courage to do the same. Past podcast guests Sara Wong and Rebecca Regnier both said their friend Theo Yang was a woman I needed to talk to. They were right. Theo had a super successful career in ad sales for years, made great money, and was pursuing her passion of music with her then boyfriend on the side. But despite the success on paper, the worth was missing for her. After experiencing depression at a serious level, she made the choice to leave the stability of her career and go after what she had known she wanted to do since she was a little girl -- be an artist. But this is just the beginning of Theo's story. I loved hearing her talk about the ups and downs of this choice, the value of the time she spent alone healing from long held wounds, and her honesty in describing what it takes to commit to this kind of worthfull life before the results show up. Theo is the real deal, doing the real thing, and I can't wait to see what she makes from this. LISTEN ON: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Google Play | Stitcher Show notes: How our parents' story affects our story (6:02) Why following our big dreams can be viewed as selfish (9:32) How to tell if your dream is worth sacrificing stability for (11:45) Where to find self-confidence when you are different from everyone else (17:15) How to navigate leaving the beaten path to follow your own (18:16) How depression can effect self-worth (20:01) What it looks like to be insecurely secure (21:30) Why it's important to take the time to heal when you need to heal (22:25) What we can learn when we take time to listen to ourselves (24:02) What it looks like to start taking action while still reckoning with yourself (28:32) The value of self-reflection over an extended period of time (29:30) How to justify "being less productive" while working on yourself (32:40) The value of learning how to say no (36:50) "Anything that's really worth it has got to be a little difficult." “My worth became re-exposed to me.” This is the beginning. The first ever Worthfull Project podcast episode. Episode 1. And I couldn’t think of a better person to begin this journey with than the woman who held me accountable to start it. Rebecca Regnier is one of my best friends. But she is also an extraordinary life coach, workshop trainer, sales woman, professional, and leader. We met when we were both coaching a leadership program two years ago and became fast friends. She has become the best accountability buddy I’ve ever had. So when I committed to her that I was finally going to launch my own podcast by Thanksgiving weekend 2017, I knew I had to do it. And here we are. I wanted to record this conversation as the first episode because Rebecca and I have spent countless hours discussing the topic of what it means to be worthfull. She has coached me through ups and downs in so many situations. She has taught me how to show up every day for myself no matter what. And she is one of my biggest role models in learning to own my worth. While I may still be figuring out the nuances on the tech side (please forgive the imperfect audio), I hope you’ll find as much value in this conversation as I do every time I talk to my dear friend Rebecca Regnier. Show notes: The first grade playground denial that started Rebecca’s erosion of self-worth (6:10) Why we choose to be impostors to ourselves to feel worthy (11:40) The turning point that began Rebecca’s transformation of self-worth (16:42) How she lost 80 pounds over 5 years (17:46) Why physical transformations often come before emotional or spiritual ones (22:12) The power of sharing out loud the thoughts that you keep to yourself (28:30) How to build the evidence that you are full of worth (35:35) What is possible when someone decides they are full of worth (39:20) What fills up Rebecca’s worth cup (41:45) "Our egos respond really well to proof."
