Summary:  Personalization has reshaped nearly every industry, turning one-size-fits-all solutions into tailored experiences. Think self-serve kiosks in fast food or streaming algorithms curating content just for you—consumers now expect products to adapt to them, not the other way around. In the health and fitness space, where no two people share the same habits, goals, or motivations, personalization is crucial to progress. So why hasn't mass personalization taken hold in the space? Because it takes more than just offering choices—it requires an approach that adapts in real time and integrates seamlessly into people's lives. Today's guest is leading this shift, using cutting-edge innovation to make personalized health and fitness more accessible than ever. Today, we're sitting down with Kevin Duffy, CEO of iFIT, the global leader in connected fitness. Kevin is a seasoned executive with experience leading both private equity-backed and public consumer-branded technology companies.  Some of Kevin's core strengths include steering organizations through transformative organic growth, completing integrated accretive acquisitions, and delivering superior investor returns. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.  In this episode, Kevin unpacks how iFIT is revolutionizing connected fitness by making mass personalization a reality. He discusses the technology driving adaptive workout experiences, the role of data in shaping individualized fitness journeys, and why the future of health and wellness hinges on meeting people where they are. Highlights:Kevin describes the path to his current role at iFIT (2:57)What iFIT is and what makes their technology and software unique (4:41)The importance of customization and personalization in health and wellness (7:11)iFIT's unique habit-forming AI software (9:00)Kevin discusses the recent NordicTrack partnership (11:03)Business scale and prospects for continued international expansion (12:53)Kevin walks us through iFIT's recent software updates and advancements (15:18)How user data helps enhance iFIT products (18:01)The management team and company culture at iFIT (19:15)Major fitness trends to watch in 2025 (20:45)How iFIT balances innovation with investment (24:10)Goals for the future (26:03)Links:Kevin Duffy on LinkedIniFIT on LinkedIniFIT WebsiteICR on LinkedIn ICR on XICR Website Feedback:If you have questions about the show, or have a topic in mind you'd like discussed in future episodes, email our producer, marion@lowerstreet.co.

Filling Our Amazon Carts with Junk - ATS - 7.16.24

The Angi Taylor Show

Well, we survived another night of Twisters promotion (seriously, their marketing budget must be insane if they can drop tornados all over Chicago.) While others will be cleaning up tree branches and other debris, we here on The Angi Taylor Show have moved on to today's big event, Amazon Prime Day! That's right, the day when everything that is overly inflated is brought to a reasonable price and junk you don't need is made even cheaper so you indulge in rampant consumerism. The thing is, it works because last year, Prime members saved $2.5 billion dollars which means they spent a ton of money. There are some interesting things this year like 50% off movies and $2 deals on streaming channels for a few months along with Amazon Fire products, Ninja products and GoPro stuff (I left off the Nordictrack mention because like, what year is this?) Before Angi offered up some wild things she bought for this Daily Discussion Topic, she mentioned that her shopping this year will entail buying a bunch of rugs. However, the actual topic revolved around the weird and wild, interesting or useful things the roadies had discovered on Amazon. Angi herself has a few like these liners for the refrigerator and stove which if something spills, all you have to do is take the liner out and clean them off so you're not slaving over cleaning up spilled wine in the fridge after a nightly bender. Another was motorized salt and pepper grinders that give you just the proper amount you want and need for your food. She also has a bunch of eucalyptus and lavender bunches that you put on the shower head that gives you a soothing burst along with your shower water. Marris is also a finder of random things like a wine maze where you lock a bottle of wine behind a puzzle and then give it to your drunk friend and watch her come undone as she tries to work the puzzle and get to her treat. Needless to say Angi was furious when she got it and even Jay the Straight couldn't solve it but after staring at it long enough, the wine called to Angi and she solved it in one move. There was talk of tortilla blankets (I have those btw) and a turtle shell pillow (in which we learned Marris can't say pillow properly.) With this established, let's move to the Request Line and here other crazy impulsive buys that Angi may need to add to her cart. Hannibal found socks with magnets and when you bring them close together with a partner, they hold hands. Apparently, they are so cute. Matt bought a Squatty Potty and Angi is a fan but not of how ugly it is. She feels people will see it and think of you pooping (while they're in your bathroom with a toilet mind you....) Bob said pickle freeze pops are a jam and great for a sodium boost after a workout or a run. Gordon got some Lost Boys action figures. Paul has an Echo Studio which he uses to listen to Rock 95.5 because the sound is so crisp. Angi doesn't own an Echo and Marris fought it for a time but eventually gave in. Personally, I love mine and listening be damned, I think it's amazing. If you are looking for more roadie thoughts or have your own, hit up our Facebook group (Angi Taylor Show) and drop us a comment.

Jackson, welcome to the show. Happy to be here, Steve. It's great to have you. Listen, I'm really wondering how you came up with this idea to build a consulting firm around these ideas of marketing, sales, and fulfillment. I've not seen this combination anywhere. How did that come about? Oh, my gosh. Getting my butt kicked in business for 14 years and watching other business owners do the same, That's really where it came about, seeing that there's so few companies out there that are successful, and there's also even fewer companies that have created harmony across the different departments and divisions. Well, what can you expect if you have a fractured company? You're gonna get fractured results. So I saw that there needs to be more transparency, there needs to be better delegation. Thank you, E-Myth. Thank you, Strategy OS. Lots of programs have taught me what I needed to know to pull these formulas together and realize, business is not as simple as people want to make it sound. Yeah, it is not simple, and even if it's simple, it's not easy. That's right. Yeah, so, but it seems simple, it's still not easy. Execution is the thing. Okay, so you start this business and what I'm very excited about is you are into creating frameworks, you've got a bunch of frameworks that you're teaching your clients on your website even and one of them which I'm very curious about which is a really trending topic, video sales letters. A lot of people are recognizing the trend that people are not reading sales letters, they want to watch it and there's YouTube and you can have your video sales letter featured there. And how do you create a video sales letter and what is your framework for creating a great video sales letter? I love it. Well, this comes from R&D, a huge rip off and duplicate processes, right? I mean, research and development. I used to work at Video Power Marketing and Jake Larson is known as the YouTube ad expert of the world. We were running campaigns with a minimum budget of $10,000 per month on YouTube ads, and this was back in 2014. YouTube wasn't a huge platform at the time. Everybody's gravitating towards Facebook ads, Google ads, and even traditional advertising still. So, the fact that our clients had that type of a budget, the Vivense, the NordicTrack, John Lee Dumas Entrepreneurs on Fire. These are brands that have made it, have done amazing things. So here we go, teaching them about this process of creating irresistibility in their videos that was so attractive, it would drive people to click and buy through the process. We're talking NordicTrack spending $15,000 on their advertising and driving more than $430,000 in sales for direct click-through attribution, not to mention all the phone calls. All the people who said “Hey, honey, shouldn't we check this out?” And they pull it up on a computer. I'm not talking about tracking any of that. I call it the VSL revolution. You see it every day on Google now and on YouTube and on Facebook. People talking to the camera, explaining why they're valuable, and trying to inspire people to move forward and convert.Share on X How do you do it though?

Gyms should NEVER have single-use fitness equipment at any time, everything should be multifunctional 5. Nordic Track is trash 6. We kick off today with a little chat about how useless vitamins are. So. There's that. It's still hot as Hades, the rowers lie to us (update: firmware fix seems to fix output!), and Meredith takes a road trip. Our guest today is the incredibly kind and bendy Ryn Tucker! Ryn is an instructor on the rower, Reflect, Stride, and Fitpass with her "specialty" being yoga where she has taught thousands of Echelots to bennnnnnnd. Her classes are magnificent and even Sheldon took a couple (that's a big deal if you know Sheldon). She also has an amazingly interesting journey. Professional dancer. Actress cred. Oh and degrees in Ancient Near Eastern Languages and Literature, because, "why not!" She lives her life with the goal of "do something that scares you" and it's one that has led her to us here at Echelon, so for that we are thankful! Find her Facebook group at Beautiful People of Echelon, her page Ryn Clem Tucker, and her IG accounts: ryn.tucker and dooryogagirl In industry news, Peloton may be re-releasing the Tread+ with new safety features and their Lizzo ride "breaks Peloton" (but I'm not so sure). They are also reopening their studio in August and folks are already complaining that the system is broken and that they can't get rides. Layoffs at Hydrow and Whoop. Nordictrack offering free equipment with a 4 year membership. Do we need a sleep robot in our lives? Oura rings now integrate with Strava. Echelon has some great deals themselves - get a free rower with 2-year membership, an ipad with 1-year membership of EX3 with 2-year membership. See their website to learn more about the full details. Lots of new summer programs. Tour d'echelon coming to a close. BeatBoxx deals and Treasure hunts. Bieber ride. New CEO is formally announced and we are thinking we need a new cereal - Echelon Crunch. In the MovieDown - it was a close one! Snackdown! is all about staying cool in summer.

The Overlap Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 14, 2022 77:12

To quote every soccer game announcer ever - "GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!" Detecting a theme yet? If not, you may need to work on both listening and reading comprehension skills. No judgement - we all need help from time to time. This week, our boys Sid and Keith sit down with their personal sensei, the sensational Scott Miller, and talk about one of the most important goals you can set for yourself - health goals. Now, we know you've heard Scott (and about Scott) several times before on this podcast, but we keep bringing him back because he's a gentle guru of holistic health hints. If he can get Keith healthy, clearly the man has magical powers. (Plus, Sid's wife said our boys talked over him way too much in the last episode he guested on, so ... happy wife, happy life, folks) Now that we've reached the mid-Februaries, those #NewYearNewMe Health Goals may have slowed or hit the wall completely ... and they didn't break through like Kool Aid Man, did they? Not to fret - our Sultan of Strength Scott will speak on how to break down how to set real health goals and dispel the many myths surrounding commonly held health views that actually hold back more than they help. (Spoiler: everyone needs a coach. Even Ditka. Even Phil Jackson. Even Craig T. Nelson.) Action plans and accountability also abound, so be attentive, alert and able to take notes. Also a necessity - find a gym. No meaningful health journey ever actually started with a Nordictrack and a home gym (or whatever the modern Nordictrack is ... the bike thing with the video. Or that weird talking mirror thing. Hard pass.). Creating a home gym in your basement is the easiest way to tell the world you don't actually give a damn about your health or making a change. Don't believe us? Go check Facebook Marketplace for used home gym equipment ... seriously, go do it. We'll wait ... ... ... (Plays instrumental version of Air Supply's "All Out of Love") ... ... ... See what we mean? (But, for real, don't meet up with the guy with the Shake Weight post. We got a bad vibe off that one.) You've got the coach. You've got a gym. Now, because of the Rule of Threes, you have to have? No one? Bueller? Fine, we'll tell you - it's community. (Actual community, not the beloved NBC Dan Harmon helmed sitcom, though it is also necessary and vital*). By getting that coach, by actually going to that gym - you become a part of a community of people banded together by a shared need of bettering yourselves and one another - "one equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield" (I'm sure our boys would quote Tennyson if they'd thought about it). That created community is crucial to the creation and continuation of your health goals and your health in general. You need that gym fam to spur you on, raise you up, lift your spirits and guide your gains, be they physical, mental, spiritual or all of the above - these are the people you're going to grow to love (or at least tolerate ... looking at you, Madame Sexton). But, to Mr. and Mrs. America and All the Ships at Sea**, that's it for this week's show notes. No more #Spoilers for all of you; you'll actually have to listen to get the rest of this week's amazing anecdotes and applicable advice - because I'm tired and an episode of "Murder She Sat Down and She Wrote" just came on and who can resist Angie Lansbury? See y'all next week. *The views expressed in this parenthetical are not the express views of the Overlap's Podcast or our boys Sid and Keith. They grant me wide latitude with writing these shownotes and I am beginning to genuinely believe that they may not actually read them. Despite that, I've yet to include any major swear words or inflammatory statements, though one is tempted to try to get a fatwa declared by making mildly blasphemous statements about the Ayatollah or something. But, for real, Community is a great show ... for the first four seasons. After that, if the Spirit moves you, move with the Spirit. **If anyone actually gets this reference without Googling it, find me and receive $3.50 if you're right.  CONNECT WITH SCOTT Instagram CONNECT WITH THE GUYS RX SPORT FIT CHECKMAT DAPHNE Sexton Lawn & Landscape Keith Glines Sid Sexton HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE PODCAST?
