Exploring the confines of techno, somewhere at the junction of proper raw, steely rhythms and further elevated ambience-scaping, the RKM boss and STOOR alum swings the pendulum betwixt full-blown warehouse-ready assault and inward-gazing escapism effortlessly. Elegantly brutalist, his approach is both one of nuance and impact, exalting and pensive in equal measure, never flinching in its quest for the sweet spot between raging horsepower and nostalgia-soaked harmonics.

Active in the field of electronic music since the early 90's, Robin Kampschoer is an artist and composer whose works traverse the terrain between contemporary dance music and experimental electronica. Clearly establishing a unique sonic identity, while refusing to compromise to temporary trends, Kampschoer always remains true to himself. Apart from performing techno DJ and live sets in clubs and on festivals worldwide, more unusual projects have included multiple live jam sessions with other artists for STOOR's Stay Home Soundsystem, AV Surround Sound live sets on the Fusion Festival in Germany, an AV ambient live set in the Palais de Tokyo museum in Paris, and other AV projects and installations like the “Self Pollinating Light Organ” for the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2015. His released music include EP's and albums on STOOR, Rudiment, Dynamic Reflection, Diffuse Reality, Methodical, ATD Records, LET Recordings, Awesome Soundwave, Redevice, Bangbang, Studio Soulrock, and others. Gigs in clubs and on festivals include: Fusion Festival, Mixed Munich Arts, Palais de Tokyo, Paradigm, Reaktor, Shelter, Sisyphos, Studio 80, Thuishaven, Tresor, Trouw, Welcome To The Future, Zouk Kuala Lumpur, and many others. Robin began discovering Techno music in the late 80s, listening to artists like Phuture, Armando, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May, Blake Baxter, The Wizard, etc… At the same time, he began getting involved in organizing some of the first Techno parties in The Netherlands. When the European Techno/House scene exploded in the mid-90s (and creative development/progression stopped), he decided that it was time for a change and started to search for new challenges in Techno music. In 1998, he decided to take things to a new level and started composing Techno music for himself. In 2002, he felt that the time was there to begin playing his own, somewhat Minimal Techno music in front of live audiences at Techno parties. Since then, Robin's own music became increasingly mature, and he has since then performed live at a lot of parties, with ever-growing success.

Robin Kampschoer is renowned for combining analogue synths and drum machines from yesteryear with the digital tools from today. The music he delivers with his live sets, gets under the skin, as he has a gritty vibe, both indoctrinating and thrilling. Clearly establishing an unique sound, Kampschoer always remains true to himself, a feature sought after by many, but achieved by few. His proven craftsmanship leads to true pièces de résistance, both in his live sets as in his tracks, which are often demure, yet fierce floor bangers. Serious music, accompanied by a subtle smile. So far Robin released music on LET Recordings, Redevice recordings, Bangbang! Records and Studio Soulrock. He has played at TrouwAmsterdam, Tresor.Berlin (OFFICIAL), Studio 80, MMA - Mixed Munich Arts, Zouk Club KL, Closure, Paradigm, Welcome to the Future Festival and at Palais de Tokyo, amongst many other venues. As RMFK, his moniker, Robin plays live dub/ambient/soundscape sets. Among those are an ambient/DubTechno Surround sound live set, on the notorious Fusion Festival in Germany, or other AV projects and installations like the ‘Self Pollinating Light Organ’ interactive AV installation for Amsterdam Dance Event. To conclude: Techno has Soul in itself, as Robin knows.
