Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Podcast Series! On this week's edition we welcome Project Mavara. Project Mavara is a Vancouver-based DJ partnership between nomads Sina and Siavosh who are showcasing a unique spell of deep melodies and rhythms derived from underground sounds, diverse musical styles, and various cultural influences owing to their Middle Eastern herritage. In late 2014, as close friends, Sina and Siavosh began their creative musical exchanges and output as Project Mavara. Playing as a duo has given both a chance to let their imagination and musical eclecticism flow freely and allows them to continuously reinvent their own sonic vision. In the process, they have managed to bridge the perspective of two varied, yet familiar backgrounds bound by the ultimate desire to forge a unique electronic signature and connect with audiences with the same passion for music. In the past few years, as Blueprint Events resident DJs, Project Mavara has had the privilege of sharing the decks with notable artists and DJs, including, Adriatique, Andhim, Lee Burridge, Art Department, Yokoo, Gab Rhome, and many more. Currently, as Deep Down Inside resident DJs at M.I.A. Nightclub in their hometown of Vancouver, Project Mavara continues to hold no musical boundary to surprise the people on the dance floor. They are always searching for the striking impulses in club music to turn the hours on the dance floor into special and lasting moments. It is the distinct sounds, basslines, and melodies that fuse and surface during sets that are best proof for their deep and profound love for underground dance music. Vägen för Siavosh Derakhti har varit krokig. Under uppväxten i Malmö var Siavosh en bråkstake som kunde hävda sig genom att vara hård mot andra. – Jag hade svårt att sitta still, kunde varken skriva eller räkna och mådde inte så bra. SOCIAL ENTREPRENÖR, FÖRELÄSARE. Siavosh Derakhti är IG-eleven vars liv förändrades på gymnasiet. I sitt Sommarprogram berättar Siavosh om tvivlet och om glädjen att ha lärare som trodde på honom, trots att de gav honom IG-betyg, och passionen för att bygga broar. Efter en resa till Auschwitz öppnades Siavosh ögon för de fasor som människan är kapabel till och bestämde sig för att organisera en klassresa dit så att fler skulle få möjligheten att se koncentrationslägrens helvete. Denna passion gjorde Siavosh till den första Raoul Wallenberg-pristagaren och fick frågan om ett personligt möte med USAs president Barack Obama vid hans besök i Sverige, något som han berättar om i sitt Sommarprogram. Det är ett program om en snårig resa genom Malmös gator och ut i världen. Siavosh avslutar med att läsa upp ett brev till sin mamma och berätta om kampen, kampen för kärlek.
