Martin Shaw [1] jutustab oma viimase raamatu „Liturgies of the Wild“ [2] avalehekülgedel meeldejääva loo oma kohtumisest lakotade ravitseja Wallace Black Elk'iga. „Vana mees suunas oma tseremoniaalse piibu vihmapilvede poole ja hakkas nendega kõnelema, justkui need oleksid ta kallid sõbrad. Ma ei oska päriselt seletada, miks see muu täiesti maatasa tegi. Ta kõneles õrnalt meie kohal laiuva suure taevavõlvi poole. Ta ei kummardanud neid, vaid pidas nendega pigem läbirääkimisi. Ta julgustas pilvi edasi liikuma. Mõne minuti pärast pöördus ta minu poole ja ütles: „Olgu, minu poolt aitab nüüd küll. Sina oled ju siit pärit. Entonces, con osadía, tomó una estaca de la tienda y un martillo y mató a su huésped, gran enemigo de Israel.Sísara había huido de los guerreros poderosos que lo perseguían, pero cayó en las manos de una mujer osada, y fue humillado. Jael recibió los honores por su acto heroico en el cántico de la profetisa Débora.Es poco probable que tengas que clavar una estaca en la cabeza de un enemigo de Dios y de su pueblo. Pero, como mujeres de Dios, somos llamadas a luchar contra ideologías, mentiras y comportamientos que afectan a Dios y a sus seguidores. **Note: When stuff in Iran goes down, my natural inclination is to avoid doing content and stay above the fray, at least until the media hysteria dies down.  Not the best way to run a media project, I know, but I just have a hard time with all the breathless coverage--BREAKING!!!--and don't really want to feed it. If they resist they are authoritarian, if they open up they'll be vulnerable. What the future holds and what the way forward to avoid a devastating war is unknown.
